The Abyss, the largest of all mines in Foulkeor, is a kilometre wide and sits at the centre of the capital city. The forges smoke through day and night, the heat is diverted to serve the people and energise the blue councils laboratories.
The Kingdom is divided into 25 holds, each with an independent hold leader, called a Heldett. These leaders represent one of three political parties. They are the Grey Picks (commerce/capitalism), Iron Fists (military might/martial law) and Blue Leafs (magic/nature).
The King of Foulkeor is Heldett Burnouqe, a fiercely large man, grizzled by age and matured with time. He, as all Kings or Queens, was elected by the people and the other Heldetts. Each political group challenges the contenders for the crown, often tasks centred around their ideologies.
The Kingdom is ruled over by the King/Queen, but decisions are made annually by the entirety of the Heldetts in the Chamber of Duer, a vast underground cave, designed to resemble a grand council court. Here issues are discussed and if a conclusion is not found by the majority, each Heldett votes. The Kings vote counts as three others.
