@Raijinslayer Combat wise, the first thing that springs to mind is Violetta's semblance - given the three-second charge time and Daedalus' defensive nature, as long as Daedalus gives Violetta some cover for a few moments she can flank enemies without too much trouble.

Second, Ignatius' abilities means with a bit of focus he can funnel enemies into a small area so that Layla can take out huge groups at once - especially while using Overlode.

Layla and Daedalus seem to struggle at long or even mid ranged combat as opposed to Ignatius or to a greater extent Violetta, so it will be up to you two to pick off enemies at range (Daedalus' crossbow rarely fires lethal rounds so while he can incapacitate at range he may not be able to eliminate targets entirely).

Ignatius' fighting style, abilities and even personality make him ideal for both distractions out of combat and to confuse enemies in combat.

I have a few more things on combat and personalities, but I'll update it in a few hours when I get off work. So far I'm loving the team composition though!

EDIT: Okay, I'm back - on to part 2! Defensive wise, we have two people who are rather physically strong and can take a hit against two 'glass cannons' essentially, so if we need to split into pairs for defense I'd suggest Daedalus or Layla with Ignatius or Violetta.

Combo moves could include (names are just placeholders):

• Fire Punch (Daedalus & Ignatius - Heats Daedalus' gauntlets red-hot to deliver a fiery blow)
• Whirlwind (Ignatius and Layla - Layla fires her blunderbuss into a swirling tornado of fire which is then launched at an enemy)
• Gravcharge (Daedalus and Violetta - Violetta fires a gravity slug and Daedalus uses the effect to charge into an enemy at high speed)
• Tracer (Ignatius and Violetta - Violetta's railgun is fired through a long and narrow cone of fire, superheating it before impact)
• Heavy Rain (Daedalus & Layla - Daedalus throws Layla high into the air, who uses her blunderbuss to fire down upon a large group of targets)
• Shard Blast (Layla & Violetta - Violetta fires a slug which Layla shoots using her pistol, causing both projectiles to explode in mid-air and rain down dust-infused shrapnel)

Personality-wise, I feel that Ignatius and Violetta would get on quite well despite their polar opposite in personalities (which I think is a good thing).

Both having ties to the White Fang and growing up in Vacuo, Ignatius and Daedalus would have a fair bit in common, plus the showmanship of each (I can see them trying to one-up each other constantly :P) - Although it seems Daedalus is too quick to trust, while Ignatius isn't as easy around people.

Layla's skills in Engineering would have Daedalus confused yet absolutely fascinated, and as the two who are described as easy going and down to earth I think they're probably going to be the go-to pair for conflict resolution.

I think Layla's temperament might rub Violetta up the wrong way a fair bit (think Weiss and Ruby) but the pair would still be able to put aside their differences and be friends.

@gohKamikaze A few problems concerning Layla's Bunderbuss in the combos.. When firing the gun, it's just creates an explosion in front of it. There's nothing really in it other than the dust element. (It's like this except one third of the distance shown with 1.5x the diameter.)

Whirlwind will possibly be more like Layla adding a dust element to the fire tornado. Eg. Firing a Shock blast into it to make a storming fire tornado.

Heavy Rain will only work if Layla uses her semblance on her gun, because the semblance will cause her blunderbuss to create a blast that's massive. So I would suggest changing the name of the combo to 'Meteor' or something of similar effect

@Raijinslayer The intro will have to grow on me - I didn't like it that much, but then again I hated the Volume 3 one until like Episode 4.

Also given the simple life Daedalus led back in Vacuo, it's unlikely he's ever heard of the family or understands the connotations. Even if he did, he's more than likely to forgive her based on the grounds of 'Violetta isn't them' - even if she did something that gave others grounds to distrust her. That's one of the biggest flaws of Daedalus - he's so desperate to see the good in people because he's deathly afraid of giving in to hatred and anger, and that often manifests itself as naivety at best or stupidity at worst.

@gohKamikazeYeah, the family, being mostly Vale based, wouldn't really have much of a presence in Vacuo. As for Vi, she's known to do things that are questionable, but nothing that can be considered to be truly bad. . . that people can tie her too, anyway.

Edit: As for the intro, I like it as a whole for the most part, but certain parts kind of annoy me,
, but as a whole, I think it's fine. Not my favorite(I think that Volume 2 or 3 is the one I really like, can't remember which.)

@RekaiganThat depends on whether they care about her family name or not, and how they treat her based on it. When the group first met, she probably wasn't the most excited to find out due to how Faunus usually treat her family, but as long as she is bugged or blamed for the sins of her ancestor's, then she doesn't really care what they are. That being said, she has no love for the white fang, which have actively attacked her family in the past before. They never survive the attempt, however, as Lavender(Vi's mom) tends to keep in pretty good shape for a former huntress.

For now, take this time for minor character interactions, or if your character can't speak out of sheer shock, lets at least hear their input because I'm sure there's something to contribute... not like anything is going to go wrong or anything.

We should have had our team discussion a lot sooner. Now that the first post is up, where should we be, and what is our team fighting style, all that crap.

Most of us are limited to short range combat. Necro's Midas does has medium range, and while my character can fight at long range, there's the chance of friendly fire. So.... not all that great in terms of team composition.

Most importantly, though.... who is team leader?

So i've been going over it a bit and i've decided to just go over this myself.

I guess i'd be more of less fine with Jaden leading the team, though it does mention he tends to run in head first, so Lariah might be a possible choice for leader with that in mind.

So as for how our team fights, seeing as Lariah has no range she's probably going to have to serve as the main attacker and tank for the team. Jaden and Basil clock in for support on that wheras Scarlett has some of the best range of the lot of them. They can all more or less hold themselves, but in a fight, that's how i'd suggest they organise themselves to maximize capabilities.

Lariah's a complete bruiser, she'll be able to take on large and dangerous targets with relative ease, she just will need some support to back her up at range.

Jaden's pretty flexible, beastly melee and good range, so he can work well as a flanker and melee support, plus leading an attack when necessary.

Scarlett's got a similar strength to Jaden with her mixed range, so again flanking and ranged are the best positions for her I think.

Basil seems incredibly based on his semblance so with him he's probably going to have to be more a follow up attacker to the rest of the team or using his plague warning to cause damage from behind the others.

What makes our team really interesting imo is how well their semblances play off of each other. Lariah's semblance locking down enemies, Basil's semblance on top will poison them, Scarlett's semblance can knock enemies into Lariah's gravity hold and I know Jaden doesn't seperate his Lion as a singular entity often, but it is presumably unaffected by Basil's poison, so maybe that could charge into the crowd to deal damage further? Just a thought.
