Hmmmm.... And I am just learning about this now. I happen to be quite the fan of D&d in general. Though I prefer greyhawk as a setting I do enjoy my tales and adventures in Fearun

I just noticed this! If you have room, I'd like to play a character I'm using in a current irl campaign; this could be an alternate point in his adventuring career. He's a half-elf bard in search of elven lore and the secrets of magical music.

The more, the merrier in my opinion. I'm hoping to begin this weekend, however.

Cool! I can have a sheet up by then. Since my GM was a little generous with our attributes, I'll try and approximate my stats using your 77 limit. I think most modifiers will be one or two values lower here than they are irl.

Hmmmm... I am either thinking about a barbarian or druid/shaman. Or a rogue of some nature. Not sure yet

@AssallyaExcellent character. The only thing that might need to be noted is that her small portable home would need to be guarded while she is off doing various things, or even while she is perhaps seducing a high lord or some such person. Either way, she is accepted.

Dhyannah D’Amorte

Race: Human

Gender: Female

Age: 27

Class: Rogue/Swashbuckler

Stats:

Strength: 12
Dexterity: 17
Constitution: 10
Intelligence: 12
Wisdom: 12
Charisma: 14

Physical Description: As far as the eyes can deduct, Long layers of chocolate locks frame her face nicely and extend just below her bust. Traces of auburn highlights bring out the color in her eyes which stare into your soul, big pale green swirls that they are. They entice your gaze, daring you to look longer than you should. She stands confidently at 5’6”, with an athletic build sitting on wider hips and amazon thighs. Freckles sparsely spattered, carelessly over her olive complection. Sun kissed skin depicts a well traveled woman, with calloused hands and numerous scars. Odd tattoos cover her shoulders and back, covering most of the more brutal marks left to her. One scar in particular rests over her jawline, down the right side of your face, about 1 ½” in length. Another, one freshly faded, sits upon her chest, just over her heart.

Armor/Attire: Typical attire are of dark, earthy tones. Dhyannah isn’t a very flashy person, enjoying more simplistic and sensible garb. Comfortable trousers, tucked into worn boots fitted to her knees. Plain leather bracers to match a plain leather chest piece. Lastly, she wears a dull grey cloak. Stitched to the hood is the face of a wolf, a mask to cover her features when worn.

Equipment
2 cutlass hang on each side of her hip, nearly identical in appearance
Carefully hidden within her bracers is a small blade. Placed well enough to be used in a pinch, should she need a sharp flying object or a defense against a creeper.
Dangling around her neck is a large tooth, likely from a dire wolf or bear
A flask, dull in appearance
Several pouches, varying in size adorn her person. Some hidden within her cloak, others tied to her belt. They hold a vast array of items to include an adventurer's kit and some rations, flint and steel, a few vials of poisons, several types of herbs and a waterskin.

Mental Description/Personality: Dhyannah can be quite arrogant and brash. Bred into the huntress that she is, she has learned patience, but once her temper wears thin, blades often fly off the hook, alongside very colorful words. Dhyannah is blunt and to the point, she doesn't sugar coat things and she doesn't very much like to lie. Only the strong survive, but she does understand that strength comes in many different ways. A lesson she learned the hard way.

Goals: Whether it was a change of pace or a fresh start that she was looking for when arriving into town, she wasn’t sure. Ultimately, she is looking for a home; somewhere to settle into, somewhere that doesn’t know of her past.

Background/History:

@VorWere you planning on roleplaying your cleric as more of a caster, melee combatant, or just playing it by ear?

I thought about dropping my previous idea and playing a divine class. I don't want to step on toes; if a second cleric (of a different deity) would be redundant, perhaps I'll roll a straight-up paladin.

@Aristo Well, he's got a giant morningstar to clobber people with, so I'd say he'd be more of a melee combatant rather than a caster chilling in the backline!

Seriously though, I'm a fan of a more subtle approach to magic (yes, even in D&D) so I was thinking he wouldn't have all those flashy Cleric spells you normally see. He's more about prayers, rituals, breaking curses, that sort of stuff; the more overt use of his powers would be against the undead and perhaps some healing since Kelemvorites are apparently good at that, but that's about it. So if you want to rain down fire and brimstone on the nonbelievers, by all means go ahead and roll a caster.

In that case, I just might cobble up a cleric of Helm or Ilmater - battlefield healer extraordinaire!

Gosh, I've been so indecisive.

Seeing as 5e did away with alignment restrictions, would anyone object to an evil paladin? Not an orphanage-burning, man-eating evil, but a victory-at-any-cost, ends>means evil. He could care about his mission, even the good of the party, but be a ruthless scourge to anyone he perceives as an enemy.
He'd probably be a thrall of Beshaba or Shar; there's a sisterhood dedicated to Shar in Hulburg.

I feel you! It took me more than a week to decide what character I wanted to play for this RP...and then I changed my mind a couple of times while writing the CS itself

I was actually planning on rolling a "fallen" paladin of sorts, but decided to go with a cleric instead. I can definitely see it working, plus you have the paladin Oaths which give it a nice flavour and can be tailored to work with any alignment. Oath of Vengeance is a cool one for example, it emphasises victory at any cost over your enemies and while it's normally sworn against evil beings, I don't see why a champion of a darker deity can't use it.
