I do really want to voice chat with you, that'd probably help me out a lot and give me an easier way to talk to you. I really want to avoid it but I might have to, and with my sister moving out at the end of the year, it'd be easier to contact her using it. I'm at a hard choice, avoid using it due to what I believe and hate where MS is going, or bite a fucking bullet and install it.

To be fair, I don't like Microsoft either, and that's not just because of their gaming consoles (though I do dislike their gaming consoles). It's not like you actually need to pay for Skype or something, so you could, like I said, just get it temporarily. I don't see how you're contributing to them by downloading a free program to speak with one or two people.

It's not that, and while I do hate their consoles. It's the direction they've been going in. It bothers the shit out of me and I swore off MS 11 months ago, haven't touched them since. Biggest reason is what they've done to your privacy, that's a big thing to me so I left, taught myself Linux and here I am.

I can't comment much on the privacy thing since Skype is pretty much the only thing they own that I use (if you don't count the phone I didn't buy). If you're referring to not being able to appear invisible to select contacts, I rarely ever set myself to invisible on a program. If you're referring to some sort of anonymity thing, I actually hate all the anonymity on the internet in the first place. Either way, there's not really any other option right now from what I can tell.
