I like this idea and wish to join, however I must propose one question before I create a character to enter this world with.

Is lycanthropy limited to just werewolves, or can I have a werebear?


In lieu of GM's input, I'd say yeah. It's always nice to see a variation on the typical formulae, and I'd imagine Werebears are far more dangerous and badass than Werewolves. If Poo's a fan of anything, it's of badass things so I think you'll get a pass!

@BananaOk, SURVEY SAYS

There is no race of were-bears, however, I will allow one of two things.
1) You can be a furbolg, which is essentially a Bear Man in the lore. Though, there is no human state. OR
2) You can be a werewolf that has been cursed by dark sorcery to make you turn into a bear man instead, however you would not know the origins of said curse, because it would be a new, single event thing.

Option 2 seems good. I'd go under the assumption that it works like a werewolf, but with bears.

I'll piddle around with a CS and pm it soon.

Lycanthropy in The Elder Scrolls

Werebats sometimes serve as guardians to vampire clans and are commonly found in Valenwood.
Werebears can be found in Solstheim and also in Skyrim, however they make no appearances in the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.[4]
Wereboars are located almost exclusively in High Rock.
Werevultures are reportedly rare in Valenwood.
Werelions can be found in the jungles of Elsweyr.
Werecrocodile are known to lurk in isolated swamps of Black Marsh.
Weresharks are said to roam the seas, according to M'aiq the Liar, but little is known about them.

Edit: Who do I mention for the post, and would it be fine to just have Ursaren come into the party with a notebook while detailing the recent death of the bog-monster?

Yet despite the little sense of foreboding, the half-giant didn't clearly see the point behind the short priest's speech until he implied that there could very well be 'more pressing concerns' than possibly saving half the world from the doom breaking out of its centre.


Hate to tell you this, Fetzen, but I think An-Hasst might have parsed Settionne's interaction with the lizard incorrectly. So far as I (and Sett) can see, nobody's told this particular lizard why there's a big old party of various non-native races wandering through the Southlands, so the idea is to first convince the Lizardman there are better uses for his/her skill at arms than beast slaying, e.g. helping the party with their goal, and secondly getting him/her to help out with the aforementioned world-saving. For instance, by accompanying them on their world-saving quest, and/or providing maps of the Southlands, which is something the party needs in the first place.

@BCTheEntity I am aware of the fact that nobody has yet introduced the lizardman to the reason why our party is out there. In fact, it's the very point of my post.

If it were in any way achievable, I am sure your assistance would be of great help to our small-yet-tight-knit band of adventurers; but alas, I am also quite sure you shall in the future be occupied with more pressing concerns than our own..

An-Hasst however knows why the party is out there, because he's a part of it and has received the queen's instructions as well. Yet Sett states to the unknowing lizardman that he will likely be occupied with more pressing concerns than theirs ? What can be more pressing than a world-saving quest ?

An-Hasst is just amused because this discrepancy between what really is and what Sett says is an indication that he's not straightforward in his speech, which the Skayleigh assumes one would be if there wasn't any hidden intention behind. Which one that is, however, he doesn't know yet.

@Fetzen ...okay, so that thing Settionne did? That's called reverse psychology. The idea is to imply, in a deliberately indirect fashion, that they have something important they need to do, and so getting the Lizardman interested in what exactly it is. Like baiting a hook.

@BCTheEntity I've started making an edit into my post while you were offline and finished it just one minute before your post. Have you read it ?

I am not my character. If An-Hasst interprets the situation the way he does and doesn't see the goal behind it or sees it but still decides that it's a fancy way Sett tries to achieve it, then its his problem.

I've moved my character over to the monster, so if you wanted to enter now you wouldn't be disturbing anything
