You might be asking yourself, "but wait, isn't this already a thing?" Why yes, this is already a thing! Which is exactly why a prequel was called for. This will be a one-shot following a cast of characters who, should they survive, will become NPCs in the main game, set four years in the past and taking place over a few reality weeks. It will focus on detailing the grittier aspects of the super hero world of our Masks campaign (that is to say, @Joshie's campaign) and after each week transpires, will time skip forward a year or so until the forth and final week, which will explore just what our loveable cast of misfits were up to while the main cast fought in their initial scrap with the infamous Dragoon. That is to say, the real Dragoon, not the hologram they face in the first IC issue. The IC will begin today, the 14th, as soon as I make the first post around five PM Eastern, and everyone from the main game is welcome to play should they so desire, just get the sheets up and in when you can.

Issue One: The Reprequeling

@Raijinslayer About the Love, being a wolf, could it just be Alpha? Maybe Omega for rival?
Also, totally see Berserker in either role.

@ErmineThat could totally work, given that Gamma isn't particularly dominant or submissive.

• Why do you care about the team?
"Gamma likes them. They are Gamma's pack, Gamma help when needed. Use 'cell phone' to talk when far away.

@TengriGamma is, admittedly, closer to an anti-hero in her execution if not attitude. Her conceot of right and wrong are quite skewed after her being trained as a killing machine. This mainly comes whewn she has to hold back or reign in her instincts, something she didn't have to do when she waa first being 'conditioned'. She's only a few steps away from being considered feral, and thus the team is supposed to help her acclimate into civilized society. She's acts like she's been treated, an Animal running off her instincts and the guidanve of her spirit.

The spirit is what helps correct her more base urges(killing people for infringing on territory) while reinforcing others(severely injuring people who hurt her, and hunting bdown people who look like rabbits)

She would be in greater control if she'd been around the team before, but now, not so much.

@LiliyaThat's in reference to when they're a team. She doesn't stay in oneplace very often, nor does she attend school(it's been provven to be a bad idea). So, if they need her, or want to talk, they call her. I think you'll obly have to go through 15 before she gets around to keeping them.

I plan on her being mostly normal by the end of 4 years, exveot for a few odd quirks like speakinbg in third person and a few other habits. I guess she's less a hero, more of a empowered person with the potential to be a hero. She'll evebtualky gain her own motivations for helping people, but for now, it's because of her spirit/friends and little else.

Edit:Phones aren't that hard to get, especialky iuf they're really, really simple ones. You know, like the metro PCS kind, which I recommend if you want to avoid paying out the ass for replacements, as well as confusing her greatly with their intricacies.

Also, I think another way to explain my idea is to imagine Net, but a lot less educated, before he got humanized, and with a voice in his head guving him a mix of good and bad advice.

Just imagining a scene with Berserker looking at the reader of the comic, Skinwalker looking too, a couple frames of this, then a "wtf" wolf look. Something like this, but...wolf-y-er.

@Tengri Inspiration?

@Ermine No. That's the first time I ever heard this song. It's quite good.

@Tengri It's mildly offensive, but most songs from then are. It was the times. -shrug-

So excited about this one, too.

Well, by five pm Eastern, apparently I meant Pacific. ^_^; Sorry everyone. The threads up, feel free to introduce your characters, explain how they got here or if they already happened to be in the building, and once everyone's character is here (or, I mean, if your character would just walk in and hit the blue bitch preemptively and start a fight then do that) then we'll get a battle underway. By, "here," I mean in that Lobby/Check Point thingy.

/about a minute after/

In a moment, somebody gracefully fell from the ceiling, regrouping her compact body in the air and falling into low crouch the moment her feet touched the ground. She was trained for this. She was trained nearly for all of this.

“Oh, good to have you around. I’m Warbird. Guardian Code: Beta-Zero-Nine.”

And she knew that was totally badass.
Tengri

Roll for badass fall (+2 'cause she's good at this). I mean, she does it either way, but I wanna see if it's impressive or just ignored.

Bonus move: choose one.

Smarter than I look: Robert might be some badass, but I'm smarter then he'll ever be. If I could get in that way, these bitches probably know they can get out that way, so I left a proximity alarm, just to make sure there wouldn't be any surprises.

Shoulda been a gymnast: For the rest of the Issue, shift mundane up by one and Freak down by one. Ken might be busy puking and yelling at the bitch in blue, but he will never forget the first impression (and what an impression it was) Warbird imparted on him. Neither will Talia.

Yeah, that just happened: Roll an additional 2d6. On a seven or above the bitch in blue in astonished that you just dropped in from out of nowhere, and isn't going to move against you on her next turn (and on a ten or above, she won't do anything except defend herself and try to avoid taking damage if attacked).

The next IC post should be up by eight or nine pm Eastern. At some point I think I'll get it regularized to a more exact time, but for now because I was late making that first post I'd hate to put the burden of having less time to respond on everyone else. If you don't get a post in, don't worry about it, there's no reason everyone had to walk in to this lab at exactly the same time, and I get that life is occasionally busy and all, just try to show up at some point so that the team was all here for this event.

Well, @Tengri, you have a couple options. Either:
A) Warbird followed Ken and Tal into the main lobby, and is now falling and you need to make some kind of a saving throw using tech or, at the very worst, her sheer athleticism to somehow save her from a forty foot fall, or;

B) she didn't follow them, is still in the hallway and, well, is still falling, but only like four feet, no roll required. However, if she's still in the hallway, that does mean that she's approximately thirty five feet above and fifty feet away from the bitch in blue, and between them is a forty foot drop.

If Warbird would be carrying a grappling gun, wearing jet boots, whatever, make a 2d6 plus Superior (for Mentor, and to show off). If she isn't using any kind of tech to break her fall, make a 2d6 plus Freak (Because it'd be freaky as shit if she didn't just straight up fall and die, or at least break a leg) keeping in mind your freak is currently at -1. Ken rolled a twelve on his saving Tal roll, so if Warbird did follow them into the lobby, had no tech, and you failed your roll, he would save Warbird's life by default, but there would be consequences.

For everyone else, unless you are within eyesight of the balcony, in the lobby, or in the hallway, you are still following the regular rules of gravity. However, when you come into the scene, you'll still have to figure out how to get from whatever your point A is to the balcony, at least if you plan on directly engaging the bitch in blue.

Ken's roll: roleplayerguild.com/rolls/1257

EDIT: Keep in mind everyone, there is a literal giant hole in the wall leading from the cafeteria directly into the lobby, courtesy of our friends rabbit headed freak and the bitch in blue (possibly an excellent lead for how a wolf might happen to find her way into things).

@LiliyaIs the rabbit in the current scene? Also, how much heat is currently surrounding the building, heat being the cops in thus instance. From the Lobby up would be a pretty good means of entry

Her scent is. ^^ Straight through from the cafeteria, into the lobby and, if you give me a roll (2d6 plus Freak) I'll tell you exactly where she is, once you're in the scene. As for cops, think the OJ car chase, --, literally, you either have to just straight up walk in past them, and they aren't gonna shoot to stop you but they won't be happy about it either, or come in through a parking lot, air duct, some sneaky way. @Raijinslayer
