Mars Aeternum.
We rose to the stars above with ambition beyond our wildest dreams. In this great period we were a proud, united species with a singular goal for greatness. We embraced the final frontier with bravery and the optimism and an overwhelming strive to supply our home with the resources she required to continue. It was only a century ago that earth existed as a vessel to a crumbling civilisation, our countries so desperate for survival succumbed to war, and fought over their own cultural and religious differences, blinded by their greed for resources and power.
Approaching the year 2150 the oil was gone, our coal was gone and 75% of the worlds resources were spent, desperate to survive the remaining superpowers, the countries which held onto the last remaining resources united to form a mighty union, known today as the United Commonwealth Federation Alliance, or UCFA. With their combined efforts the first Interframe drive, a mobile drive system allowing spacecraft to bend space time around them to travel just bellow the speed of light was created merely three years later. This technology was headed by Dr. Stephen Ryder, an ingenious theoretical physicist and engineer who discovered the space bending properties of dying stars, being compressed within the confined space of a fusion generator, during these efforts humanity recovered after the first manned exploration craft the Polaris discovered a vast array of minerals and possible infrastructure on the mighty red world of mars.
RISE OF MARNUS
Today it's 2250, the 100 year anniversary of the UCFA and a time for celebration, however a lot can happen within one-hundred years, and humanity is no longer as united as it once was. Seventy years after the official colonisation of mars, the inhabitants grew tired of the alliances control over trade control and taxing, managing population control and using all of the resources without giving anything in return. Soon the protests started, then the riots and the strikes and soon the people of mars were leaving for outer colonies, such as the moons of Jupiter and Saturn to form new homes. However things began to change when the mars stationed defence forces as well as the coast guard began a violent coup d'etat against the alliance, this was backed by several extremist and illegal terrorist groups working alongside mercenaries. Upon freeing themselves from any affiliation with the UCFA the involved parties formed the MARNUS Initiative, a self formed government controlling over it's citizens with an iron fist, brain washing them slowly over the period of thirty years with no connection to earth to make them dread the alliance and anyone earth born. The Initiative have since built a strong military with an intimidating blockade surrounding mars and it's other planetary colonies yet continueing to offer simple trade ties with earth under their own terms.
The Capital city of the MARNUS Initiative is Huron, named after the crater it's first settlement had been settled within, the city is one of hundreds due to the rapid expansion of industrial understanding and advancements in outer-planetary colonisation and has been kept within the watchful eye of the UCFA for decades.
The government structure of Marnus is a joint militaristic dictatorship between three individual naval admirals, these men are known as Khalus Reihth, Ashur Talon and Remus Vokel. The three men continue over a militaristic state where every male is required to actively serve within the armed forces for the remainder of their life while women are seen as house wives and the life blood of future civilisations on mars. The citizens believe they are living a life of luxury, wealth and opportunity yet they are far more condemned and controlled than they believe.
Espionage and stolen trade equipment has brought the Initiative to a technological level matching the strength of the alliance, making them a formidable threat, and if recent propaganda feeds are to be believed, after thirty years of rule they are growing tired of their alliance neighbours.
UNITED WE STAND
A proud alliance of men and women working together for the betterment of mankind, the inhabitants of earth confide within the presence of a body politic where they are required to serve within the military either through the Naval command or the armed forces, comprised of the marines and special forces. After a compulsory serving period of three years the individual can choose to either continue within active military service and make it career or continue onward from service as a legitimate citizen with full clearance to the best humanity has to offer in terms of lifestyle opportunities and highly paid career plans.
The alliance currently rules over several colonial locations besides earth, these reside upon the Moon, Titan, Io, Ganymede, Venus, Europa and several smaller locations on asteroids and space stations. Many people within the alliance are not earth born yet return to earth either as a pilgrimage to see where their lifeblood originated from or as part of their military service as their ship commences system wide patrols.
The alliance's base of operations resides within the once Canadian city of Montreal, a beautiful modern city complete with bodies of water and a huge docking complex for the entire Alliance fleet, many people come on vacation to visit many of the sights, such as Dr Ryders home and workshop, teaching adults and children about the birth of the Interframe drive which is known as the holy relic of the current age.
Allianceborns are proud and optimistic, yet naive, believing their-selves to be the most powerful force in the solar system, sometimes forgetting about the dangers of their neighbours. The Government of the Alliance consists of a large military council comprising of a head admiral and many other officials reaching numbers over 100 seated members. Each and every decision is made by this council and must be agree'd for by a larger count of members.

A colossal feat of engineering and industrial might made possible by the union of our people! The Nova strategic escort carrier is over two miles long and is sure to be an amazing sight to behold! Before we get to see the lady of the moment here comes the infamous UCFA Oracle! The Alliances crowning jewel for over twenty years! This stunning battle-cruiser is equipped with over fifty high calibre cannons and has defended our outer colonies from pirates with precision and versatility thanks to the men and women of our mighty alliance! Clear skies with little chance for rain, still winds surround the majority of eastern New Canada today and... Wait... Hello everyone! :) Welcome to the Terminus! I thought i'd open my mind and idea's with you all and I hope you have enjoyed what you have read so far! This is going to be a long lasting roleplay with a large cast, the role-play will comprise between a co-opperation effort between the crew of two surviving spacecraft, a brand new state of the art carrier known as the Nova and a smaller and aged infamous battlecruiser known as the singularity known for it's success and reliability in battle.
You will take the part of one of many crew members on either of these ships! When you post you will be allocated with a colour tag which will indicate to the other players which ship you are serving on, it is the job of each crew to support each-others ship in a brutal war between the alliance the the Marnus Initiative, people also have the opportunity to fill fighter pilot roles and infantry roles for separate bonus missions on planets which will take place while the fleet defends them in orbit.
This is going to be a huge roleplay with continuous events and planning and will require several co-gms and admins to help me run it! If you fail to post and drop out, your character may be discharged for medical reasons, killed off or discharged for other reasons, when this happens recruitment will open up again and new players will be allowed to join! I plan on having this roleplay stretch on for several chapters, beginning with this one, chapter one!
