>Waking up.

@Eidolen
Yo dude. Not entirely sure when the posting cap goes away, but yeah.

So people know, this guy's one of my good mates off the site. They've discussed my project a damn lot more with me than anyone else on this site apart from Ailyn. I'm imagining once the 'Guardian Ascension' discussion channel I mentioned previously happens, you'll see them on there. Long story short, this is one of those people I keep referring to when I say my 'circle' and such.

@Cynder
Generally speaking, I'm not interested in sci-fi. It's not that I don't think I could write it or anything -- just no interest. I can understand why some people could find the 'advanced' forum intimidating, but I honestly think it depends on who you write with and from what I can tell there's a lot of people there that're pretty laid back.

@NekoMizu@CrazyShadowy
I'll check your back and forth soon, to see if I have comments.

@shylarah
I'll reply to that once I can see properly.

Had a feeling that was the case with Eidolen. Though I wasn't 100% certain or anything lel

As for my conversation with Shadow, it was mostly just Runescape if I remember correctly.

I find it difficult to hash out two paragraphs sometimes - I don't know if I can do anymore than that on a regular basis. Also, welcome back to the world of the waking!

It's almost 3 am and there are people having a conversation while a dog whines. Just, why?

Cheers.

I understand how some people feel that way about longer posts. I don't have that issue, but at the same time - just for the record - I'm more interested in the depth of a person's content, not the length of the post itself.

Interesting idea, I don't think I've seen a holiday one before. I can understand why you aren't sure with that.

@Shoryu Magami
Welcome to the world of the waking, awoken? Something like that, as for our back and fourth it was about nonsense and a fair bit of Runescape.

Sorry to hear about your stomach, if you want something to read I put out an interest check last night.

I noticed it, but only had time to skim it before collapsing. I recall commenting about it very briefly in this thread last night when I mentioned how the sci-fi genre doesn't usually interest me, but afterwards I took a brief look. Honestly, I'm actually impressed with how much work you put into the interest check, since I appreciate a lot of detail. I haven't been able to get through it all yet, but just the presentation alone was well done.

I've still got about three or so OOC posts to reply to in various threads - including one here - so I'm a bit overworked right now despite my stomach pain refusing to bloody piss off. If I get time, I'll take a look.

Glad you managed to take a brief look and that I managed to impress you with the work I put into it. This was an idea I had for awhile, mentioned it to someone in private and they tossed a few suggestions in. Few weeks went by and I made this out of it all. I don't half-ass something and I'll put my all into it. If I can manage to get enough interest to actually make this happen, I plan to add some more information. Mostly taking regard to the capital and citidel of Asbasta.

As am I. It's always bizarre to me when I'm searching for Roleplay partners and they request a number of paragraphs instead of quality. I much prefer a Roleplay that gets "straight to the point" instead of one shrouded with meaningless fluff. . the exception that would be romantic fluff, though.

More or less it's because I'm a horrible GM and am rather flaky. I don't trust myself to make this Roleplay successful just as I don't expect a million people to not drop. The concept itself, I think, is fine. It's an idea I've been wanting to do for some time now.

I'd say go for it. As for the GM thing, the only way to improve is to keep at it and learn from your mistakes. Learning from others can be helpful as well. If you've been wanting to do it, what's stopping you?

Like I've always said, being detailed and not half-arsing shit is a very good quality in a writer. I think the biggest issue on my end would be finding it difficult to fit myself into this type of genre in the first place.

You could probably end up offending someone like me very easily with terms like 'fluff', since I believe the quality of posts that I just spoke of is largely dependant on being detailed and taking the time to really flesh things out and make them detailed. While you don't need to post hundreds of paragraphs to do that, you also can't do it with a couple of lines. Getting 'straight to the point' can make things one-dimensional depending on how fast it gets to that point. Actually, a lengthy discussion going on in this thread right now (the one I'm working on my next reply to) directly relates to that.

Eh, maybe. I have hesitation and my rule of thumb is that if any hesitation lies, then I'm not going to make it. . yet, anyway.

Sorry, I don't mean harm. I just don't understand how people can add so much myself. I have a difficult time visualizing and it's hard for me to write details due to it, so maybe my problem with details relate to that. My ADHD also makes it impossible for me to focus on post Roleplaying these days unless I try like hell to sit down and drop a post every other day or whatnot. I just couldn't imagine sitting down to write a large post personally.

They thought I had ADD at one point -- one of the many mistakes at the hands of doctors that basically wrecked my life.

Nevertheless, if that's the case then it's probably better to make something like that clear in the first place, rather than talk like there's something 'wrong' with people actually wanting to put the time and investment into their work like I do -- there's nothing wrong with it, and I'm really getting tired of having to defend a writer's right to be... well, a writer. A lot less complications and bickering comes between people if they just make this sort of thing apparent from the beginning, but I understand that a lot of people would rather not explain the reason.

Understood, I just thought I'd see if you'd check it out and get your thoughts. It means a lot that I was able to impress you with how it was done, put a smile on my face to know that. If you can manage to do so or decide to try it that'd be great, if not I'm sure others will!

@Cynder
Sometimes it can be good to prove it wrong, I was hesitent to share the idea I had in the first place. They loved it and then I ended out making that for it.

I never said there was anything wrong with it in the first place, I simply said I don't like it personally. You don't have to defend your right as a writer and already I said that I meant no harm. I admit to putting my foot in my mouth and I apologize if it came across that way.

I tend to go on hiatuses like crazy as a result of stress and real life. In fact, I'm already considering going back on one.

It seems like the purpose of my statement wasn't exactly gotten across right -- pretty much was only trying to suggest being careful with the wording next time, not attempting to sound like I was inherently angry. In my initial post, I did say that you could end up offending someone; not you did end up offending someone. It was a warning more than an outright claim that you pissed me off or anything. Frankly, people on this site have pissed me off a heck of a lot more, so don't worry about it, alright?

I tend to be something of a nomad when it comes to websites -- I pretty much never take hiatuses, since if I decide that I'm irritated enough or unsatisfied enough with a site I pretty much just leave it, permanently. There's only a few instances where I returned to a site after leaving it, and in only one of those cases do I not completely regret it (site's dead now though, so returning being a good thing doesn't matter much now).

That said, stress is something I'm all too familiar with thanks to my project's workload (roughly one thousand notepads to sort through on this PC alone -- those notes were created over a course of a few months, so try to imagine how many notes I've got stored elsewhere since I've built them up over more than ten years) and the distance between me and Ailyn. That's pretty much why I won't remain on this site if I decide it's a burden.

I apologize then. I've been on severe edge since my family has come and gone. As for the hiatus bit. . I feel that I am often unsatisfied with the Guild, but it's also like my home. I also run the Discord. Leaving the site permanently is not really an option for me. Besides, it's usually only a lack of Roleplays and a few bad apples that ruin it for me, so it's not really that big of a deal.
