I'm a huge fan of the superhuman/superhero genre, as well as numerous others including sci-fi, drama, mystery, ect, and I've had an interesting idea to spin all of that together.

Bare with me this is a pretty interesting idea, but here's the basic premise. I want to set the RP in a semi-modern setting, and set it in the "real" world. I'd set the RP time-line somewhere around 2015-2016 in real time, and go from there. The basic premise would be about several individuals of different walks of life gaining superhuman abilities inspired by their personality traits and innermost desires. An example could be a travel agent struggling to make ends meets who wants to see the world gaining the power to teleport, or a psychology professor who gains the ability to read the minds of others and delve into their minds to truly find out what makes people tick.

Anyway, the concept would be various people gaining superhuman abilities, and what their willing to do with them. My idea is people gain these abilities after a secret Government project goes awry, and as a result is the cause of the abilities. The twist would be that the technology used for their experiment is re-engineered technology taken from a super advanced alien race that planned to invade earth, and subjugate humanity to their rule.

So in short the plot would revolve around our characters those who gain powers, and the non powered individuals who deal with the rapidly changing world around them, and the secrets of the government project coming to light as they struggle to deal with the repercussions of both their experiment, and inadverantely getting the attention of said alien advanced race that still has a bone to pick with earth since their first attempt to rule failed.

Just depends on the power, I'd say considering the source of the powers they can grow and grow, but ideally If someone had the power of telekinesis I wouldn't want them to start off with the power flip a city upside down or something ya know, just start from the basics and grow

Yes, ideally the set of the RP would be global, but I was thinking I'd start the story line off in a city probably Atlanta, was thinking maybe New York but that's already used so much haha.

Haha thanks, I actually feel like I got some inspiration from the show, even though I've yet to watch a single episode, I still plan on watching the show though I've heard so much good things about it, and I figure if I liked Heroes I'm damn sure I'd love something like Misifts which from what I hear is even better.

The show is really great, it kinda falls off in the later seasons but its still good :D There are some really great characters, and the powers work very similarly to the whole part of your personality thing, which I really like as an idea :D

I'm excited to come up with a character yhough, I'm thinking about a luck based power. Something like manipulating random chance or being really lucky in the right situations :P

So like probability manipulation, I can't lie, I wish I'd thought of that cause I could probably think of a cool character with that, seems like a power that leaves room for lots of fun to happen. So I look forward to that character being around, and that's unfortunate to hear about the show falling off but I'm definently gonna check it out And it's cool to see the power and personality thing, I haven't even watched misifts so it's kinda cool that idea's in a show already.
