@Saltwater ThiefSometimes the GM doesn't give you an alternative because it would be a waste of time. Meaning, nothing will come of it IC and it doesn't lead to the characters or their Pokemon gaining any experience. At least for that situation. That situation was just to rile up suspicion. It's also serving another in-game plot purpose.

I'll be getting a GM post up soon. It'll more than likely be after I relax from such a busy week.

@Bright_OpsI'm dropping the stragglers. I've tried to get them to interact with others and they don't want to do it. They're not just wasting your time, but my time and their own time. So if they don't want to RP here, then they don't have to because they're plenty active in other games. If we get anymore Pokemon, then you'll have first dibs on them since everyone has been monopolizing on the new Mons that have joined. If I got to, even I will make a Pokemon to give you an active partner.

Well, part of it was that one thing I've had drilled into me through various means over 7 or 8 years of this is that if a GM specifically mentions a new element in a scene (like you mentioned the van being there), particularly if what the players are trying up til then isn't working, it's to give the players something new to interact with or use if they want to change tactics. Old habits & thinking + GM I've never worked with before doesn't always mix well though, so it's just something I need to keep in mind for the future.

I suppose I'll plan to send Seth up to a room and crash him in for the day then, since I won't be able to get Z until IG-Tomorrow (unless something shifts dramatically). If nothing else I'll re-do my snipped post with a reaction to the events and start to Exit Stage Right, then see what the GMP brings in.

You shouldn't, we've just been unable to post given the fact we've collaborated ahead a bit. THough it does seem we've put ourselves into a bit of pickle post-wise.

Also, anyone here seen the Sun and Moon Pokemon Anime?

@IatosSame, and I like it. Want to cringe whenever Samson makes a Pokepun, but it's nice and the new style really lends itself to the more lively animation. Only downside is Ash acting like a newbie kid after everything he's gone through, butthat's every new region of pokemon, so it's not that big of a deal for me.

@Raijinslayer Yeah I don't really keep up with his puns xD...

I also like it, I was worried at first I guess but its sinking in well.

Well In terms of experience we haven't really seen if he's good or not. The only battle's he've had so far was to tesst out Z moves and see pikachu in action and he seemed to still be good and all.

With the New Alola Ash certainly have a lot of potential I guess.

Besides Driving a Sharpedo and stuff wtihotu issues, the only strange thing he've doon that seemed noobish was to get into the wild to encounter some of the local pokémon without a clue which is understandable seeing how he's totally new to the region.

And Yeah he lost challanges that was obviously rigged against him seeing how all the pokémon he faced had a major advantage in them.

A Hedgehog For Balloon popping with its spiek and being able to soak electricity.

A session course with running and Swimming where the water area is larger than the running one and against a water type that while slow on land is super fast in water.

The only challange he had a chance in was the Taurus race, but even there a more experienced rider obviously won due to obvious facts that he's more experienced and have done such races a lot more.

In one way its almost like their challenges was a Form of initiation test meant to put pressure on Ash by the senior students. But he handled the pressure just fine and didn't let it get him down.

So far, he's acting more like a Excited Kid New to a place rather than a 'Newbie'. I guess its up for us to see later if he show battle skills or not, but again, new region new rules...

So far no team rocket.

I've noticed that Ash have indeed gotten better each season of Pokémon. Experience have been showing especially in X and Y.

You know How Strong someone is when The opponents must use really Sketchy Pokémon and Tactics to win, like Guiliotine and Legends to have a chance to beat Ash's pokémon.

Seeing how he totally deserved to win in X and Y. With Ashgreninja being somewhat fair as just about everyone seemed to pull out the Megaevolution card.

In all seasons he have done better and better.

Kanto: Top 16, in the first season they really just experimented with the whole show and realistically Ash was given most of his badges for free rather than deserving them to even make it into the Kanto League without rerolling for them.

Sinnebar islands: Break that ice with Charizard and stuff, quite literally xD.

Johto: Battle Frontier where he did really well actually.

Hoenn: Like top 8 or something.

Sinnoh: Top 4 I think.

Unova: Top 2/3? Loosing in the match against a guy who used legendaries Darkrai and Latias because that being the only reason they could even beat the team Ash had lol. He only managed to Down Darkrai using all his pokemon. Think there was a battle after it too where the other dude didn't manage to knock out even Darkrai again.

And Kalos: top 2. Lost in the final match against charizard even if he totally should have won...

I have the GM post already written. I'm just collab-writing at the moment.

The post I just posted was for Bright_Ops to introduce to him his new Pokemon. I'm going to make a CS for him now.

Hey everyone,

The azurillaland stat calculator is down and undergoing construction/update. In the meantime, we'll use this ghetto calculator: psypokes.com/dex/stats.php

I'll post this on the front page for easy access.

Also, when your Pokemon evolve, I don't expect their nature to be the same. So if you want to change their Nature after an evolution, then that is okay. Pokemon grow, learn, and they may not be the same way their were before.

Pokemon Name: Cyndoquil
Pokemon Nickname:
Age: 7
Gender: ♂
Height: 4'2" (Gijinka)
Weight: 97 lbs. (Gijinka)
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: You never see them. His eyes are slanted.
Generation: II
Type: Fire
Written Appearance: In his Pokemon form, Cyndaquil appears as a small black mouse with a lengthy snout and yellow underbelly. His fur is very short, smooth and silky to the touch. Along his black are four red spots that are fleshy and hairless. From those spots, Cyndaquil can present his porcupine-like flames. His body is always very warm to the touch, his temperature naturally being higher than most non-fire Pokemon. As a Gijinka, Cyndaquil appears as a little boy with slanted eyes and an interesting cowlick that always stands on top of his head. He'll wear loose fitting shirts and pants to keep himself cool for he finds it very easy to overheat. As a Gijinka, Cyndaquil can blend in easy for he looks just like any Human kid.
Visual Appearance:

Personality: Cyndaquil is a timid Pokemon who knows he's small and naturally doesn't like being taken advantage of. He is a quiet Pokemon who isn't entirely talkative. His actions speak louder than his words, and so one will find him or herself communicating more non-verbally with him. He's young and still adapting to this world of trainers, tournaments, and even seeing Pokemon that he may not have ever seen in his natural habitat. It's all overwhelming and deep-down he's frightened. He just needs a strong trainer to befriend and boost his confidence.

Okay, so this game has been going on for 3 months now, which is the longest-running game I've ever managed on this site. I can't say that I've ever managed in my RP lifetime because no game will ever beat the game I ran for literally 10 years. I started it when I was in middle school and ran it all the way into college before the site I had it on decided to die off and crash.

But I think three months is rather amazing seeing how the expiration rate of games on this site is usually 1 to 2 weeks. However long it takes people with short attention spans to move on.

Any who, I want to read some feedback.

Sustains - What do you like about this game? What you don't want to change about this game?
Improvements - How you think this game could improve?

The criticism has to be productive. If you're just going to say, "I don't like this game," and offer nothing else. Well, I'm going to ask, "Why are you still here then?" And probably ask you to leave because I don't believe in people sitting in a game that they aren't happy with. It just makes no sense. So just productive criticism that we can actually use to improve how this game runs.

Hey all, I've been reading the OOC for the past two days and just got caught up. I'll read the characters next and then the IC. When you guys head into Viridian forest, who wants to catch a wild Weedle? (I never got into pokemon's meta-game so I apologize if Beedrill is not considered top-tier, but it's always been one of my favorites). I'll get a CS up, after I'm done reading the IC.

@Stern Algorithm Welcome on board. Hope you enjoy reading the adventure this far. And beedrills are cool. They have a mega evolution. As far as trainer come, as you probably saw reading the ooc @Bright_Ops has first dips rights on new pokemon, because Gredy, his character had really bad luck with pokemon.

@Holy Soldier
What do I like? Well two things come to mind. First several players who really love their characters and want to tell stories involving them.
And second your gm style.
Especially the facts that you are making sure we as a group keep on moving and not get stuck in one place focusing too much and waste time on one thing or another. That are technically unimportant in the bigger pictures of our adventure. And I do really enjoy the ooc post where you mention everyone to remind them they are still part of this rp.
I do enjoy the introduction to Pokemon Club and how you didnt let it escalate in a confrontation. They came did their thing, we all were powerless to stop it. They left on their happy ways. It offers sweet motivation for the trainers and pokemon who saw the wrong doings. Especially when we meet them a second, third or who knows which time.

I like how Rrasa missed the Pokemon club doings, because her not knowing what they do will lead to possible interesting interactions later on. A unique position. It depends if the other trainers will fill her in or when she meets PC for the first time what will happen.
For example she may be tempted by the offer if her pokemon manage to drive her mad till then, then again she invested too much of her sanity to give them away or something else happens. That is still far away for now.

I dont have anything I dislike here so far. The battle we had was nicely paced, once we settle with our pokemon I wouldnt mind a few more of them. But story vise there just was no space to cramp them yet. So maybe later.

I mostly agree with Talija, the Club makes for a pretty solid antagonist group. That they've managed to directly anger several of our characters instead of just being there like a lot of the Teams in the games is nice as well, and the Viridian situation was fairly well thought out. I do wish it was a bit more clear at the top of things that it was going to be a Hopeless Boss type scenario, but I'm not sure how much of that is actual fault vs just me being stupid/disadvantaged.

The only other thing I can think of might be something with the Exp System, but before I vomit a paragraph about that I should ask a clarification question- in the First Post where you talk about Weekly Experience Caps, is that 10 Exp per OOC Week (so today until December 10th), or is that In-Game Weeks?

And, while I'm at it (sorry for the question barrage), I had a brainstorm earlier today at work for Seth. I know you said him making off with a box from the van wouldn't fly, but my thought was to make a Pokemon CS and arrange it so that she was tamed by a Trainer who grew to hate her who trades her ball in to the Club for an Ubermon, then have her ball go out of the box (maybe a box got jostled or dropped and a couple fell out but hers went farther by pure happenstance), get quietly grabbed by Seth, taken to the city limits and released into the Wild (where she'd then be up for grabs by Trainer PCs), and then Seth is in or near the forest and I can move him to hook up with Talija's Zorua and get that ball rolling. Do you think I could swing that, or would you really rather I just left that whole situation alone?

(I'm likely to make the Gijinka with the gist of that background anyway, tamed -> hated -> runs or is chased away, I just thought it might be interesting to make use of the Club if possible and kill a 2nd bird with the same stone by giving Seth a reason to be in the forest without giving him mood whiplash or needing to skip ahead some-odd hours while he cools off).
