In the 2000s, a turbulent time for humanity, shorty before the great collapse, saw the sudden rise of Jötunn Industries. A fusion from a group of small engineering, energy and research companies, became the great hope for a dying Europa. Energy was and still is the blood of all civilization, and the reliance on coal, Oil and Uranium was a anchor that pulled the nations of Europa deeper into the abyss.

Eager to find a solution, the Union was more then willing to hear the offer of the new star of the European Energy industry, and found their research. In the year 2004, the first field trial of the "Loge Geo-Thermal Generator" had surpassed all expectations, and more and more countries began to invest into Jötunn Industries, skyrocketing it into a AAA-plus league of International Businesses. Soon more Geo-Thermal Power plants were build, and it seemed like Iceland would soon be able to produce energy for all of Europa!

Then the Great Collapse came, and hit Jötunn Industries with full force. Over night the Company lost most of its vital investors, and its stocks were almost made worthless. In an desperate attempt to secure its holdings from riots or nationalization of its assets by Germany, Denmark or the Netherlands the company turned its attention to the armies of said nations. Directly approaching the lower ranks of command, they were able to buy enough loyalty to soon field their private army, and take control of military bases in their reach. Declaring marital law in northern Germany, southern Denmark and Iceland, they enforced peace trough brutality and kept their plants operational. While supporting the EDA in keeping the Euro stable, they continued to take more and more land form the falling governments of Germany and Denmark, and soon annexed Greenland and Iceland completely. It was in this time, where W-Wsec founded its reputations as an unstoppable force, as they easily crushed any resistance, be it military or civilian nature.

Continuing to sell energy to all that could afford it, Jötunn soon was able to stabilize itself financially and economically. Able to lift martial law from all its territory in 2014, a thigh leash was still placed on the civilian population, as unrest was still present among the civilian population. Starting a great PR campaign, Jötunn Industries presented itself as the savoir of central Europa, able to safe its citizens from incompetent leaders. With great support by the former Military of these nations, Jötunn soon could change its image, and declare itself as the rightful ruler of northern Germany, southern Denmark, Iceland and Greenland! Seeing a new age coming, and having growing ambitions, the Company was renamed Jötunn Global, making it quite clear that their ambitions were not limited to Europa.

Starting a resettlement campaign, disguised as a Humanitarian service, population centers in central Germany, like Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt were secured by the newly founded WSec (Wotan-Security, the privat military force of Jötunn Global), and its skilled inhabitants relocated to the coast, Iceland or Greenland. At the melting of thickest layers of ice in Greenland, due to the global warming, and advances in technology, let to the uncovering of new opportunities for mining. With little experience in this matter, a tempting offer was made by the AUC. Paying a fixed due each year, and taking all risks, it was an offer to good to be true. Accepting it, the "Jötunn-AUC Mining Cooperation" was created, and began its work on Greenland soil.

A great investment for both sides finally led to the first opening of inland mines, but to the surprise of all, the amount of Ore and minerals that were found in the now accessible plains of Greenland. The due the AUC payed to Jötunn Global was not even a fraction of the profit that the AUC would gain from these Mines. Fearing the Humiliation and dire consequences, the W-WSec was brought into position, and at the 01.10.2021 all assets of the AUC were sized by Special forces of W-WSec. Declaring Greenland as "locked down" any personal and equipment was to be sized, to continue the mining operation. With so much distance between Australia and Greenland, Jötunn didnt thought a counterattack to be possible! They were wrong!

In counter to this clear act of aggression, AIS forces were sent in at 08.10.2021 in a commando-style raid. Although a brief operation many W-Wsec troops were killed, and although a small amount of equipment was moved out, the vast majority was detonated, denying Jötunn it. To make matters worse, Department 5 operatives were sent in, and a number of mining tunnels were detonated, causing the resources within to be locked away. Suffering its first real defeat, the invincible image of W-Wsec would take a humiliating and lasting damage.

In response, the AUC also called a trade embargo on Jötunn, swearing that until a formal apology and recompensation for the attacks was payed in full, none of the subsidiary companies would provide so much as a grain seed to Jötunn Global. They also encouraged their friendly trading partners to do the same, although without much luck. Such began the start of the enmity between the two different companies. Jötunn lost almost 10 years until they reached an efficiency level of mining, that the AUC had achived in a mere two years.

Humiliated, and with a great loss in material, personal and equipment, the focus was shifted away from Greenland to a expansion of Jötunn territory. 2022, W-Wsec send out a small company to take control of the Isle of Kolgujew north of Russia, and later took Svalbard, both times encountering only little resistance. With Kolgujew having little to no value, it was turned into a training ground for W-Wsec, and a outpost near the growing giant that was the Volskaya Group. In an effort to secure a secondary mining spot, Svalbard was annexed and its starving inhabitants presented to the whole world as "Saved by Jötunn Global".

Then, 2026, came the breakthrough of the "Grottasöngr-Reactor"! Outclassing the aging Loge reactor, it proofed to be the miracle the Jötunn company needed to recover once more. Soon, Icelands volcanoes would directly providing energy, but with a growing demand, soon Jötunn Global would need new Volcanic Hotspots if it wanted to dominate the global energy market. The Azores had become a new age Center for piracy, and to statute an example for the world, W-Wsec landed with full force, crushing any resistance with an Iron boot. Seeing an opportunity to justify their landgrab, Jötunn declared further campaigns against these "Anarchistic islands of thief´s and rapists", and would continue to expand further south.

By the year 2040, Jötunn Global had become one of the dominant powers in the Atlantic ocean, and a global player in the energy market and mining industry! With the founding of Mjölnir Arms, they were even able to take hold in the arms trade. Taking each chance they can get to harm the AUC, and with a desire to expand into Asia. Supporting Indonesian Rebels and Pirates with state of the art Weaponry, the conflict on the islands is growing with each day, and many foresee, that both companies will soon be at each others throat once more.

The dominant position at the top of Jötunn Global is the CEO Roland Krongold, who´s power is only limited by a council of nine Electors, who in case of the CEO´s death, or abdication, are to vote for new one. They are made up from three high ranking generals of W-Wsec, three representatives of the Major shareholder and three representatives that are elected from the working employees. With a six out of Nine vote they can veto any decision of the CEO. For this it is a fixed goal for Krongold to always have at least four loyalists in the council, rendering it powerless.

The next level of Administration are the board of directors, which are awarded directly by the leading council. Separated from the board of directors are the military boards, which are directly awarded by the three highest Ranking Generals of W-Wsec. Not a direct requirement, yet slowly it seems like some short military service as an officer for a few years is mandatory, if one wants to climb upwards inside Jötunn Global!

With the rest of europa sinking into chaos, and with its own interests at risk, Jötunn had to take a few steps that were outright ethical questionable. But in the mindest of its founders, these were steps that had to be taken! This new age would require a rethinking of old norms, and like any other aspect of the struggle to surive, it had to be the best!

Social-Darwinism is a virtue of this Cooperation, mixed with the growing militarism among its citizens. From quite an early age, the working class youth is drilled to strive for greatness inside the Company. Indoctrinating a feeling of great patriotic pride, that borders to nationalism towards their Company. Supporting this, Jötunn makes sure that their employees enjoy a modest, yet comfortable state of living, after they have reached full employment, and with social projects, reward programs and social security, Jötunn does its best to create a spirit of camaraderie among its citizens!

But outside the company is nothing, and people who arent part of Jötunn (or an other powerful Cooperation) are basically without any rights inside its territory. The same is seen with people who dare to stand against the company, and betray its goals. These people cant expect any mercy when their betray is punished by death.

W-Wsec, or "Wotan-Wehr Security" is the official security arm of Jötunn Global. Originating from elements of the former military of Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands, who´s loyalty had been bought by providing security for the families of soldiers and officers in such dire times. During the great crash, they proofed to be an excellent fighting force, and would crush any resistance they encountered, during the pacification of the territory of what would soon be the core lands of Jötunn Global.
Made up completely of volunteers from the working Population, W-Wsec prefers Quality over Quantity, and its soldiers see themselves as the best of the best, if not the best in the whole world, while their officers try their best to imitated old Prussian traditions, and revive old ideas of honor.

The "Great Humiliation of 2021" where AIS Forces were able to raid Greenland and cause horrible casualties in Personnel and Equipment, has lead to an even stricter restructure in its military doctrines. With a great focus on its naval presence, Jötunn military investments are growing each year, and so is the power of W-Wsec in its company.

Born in a dying old world, Roland Korngold has a humble beginnings. A intelligent and quick child, he soon began a promising career, as a leading engineer of the "Loge Geo-Thermal Generator". A state founded project, Roland was able to charm his way upwards, and soon found himself in the leading board of Jötunn Industries, appointed by supporters inside the European Union, and the company itself.

When the great collapse came, his calculating, cold streak proofed as a beacon of security in midst of all this chaos, and till this day, many inside the company see him as the sole person who saved it. He was the one who used the remaining funds to hire mercenaries to protect company assets, before buying the loyalty of the armed forces, and declaring martial law. Over Night, Roland Korngold became a glorious leader for some, and a warlord for most!

Since then, he has held the position of CEO of Jötunn Global, and was the driving force behind its expansions and aggressive attacks, be it economically or military. Proclaiming a need for a "Position of power on a global scale", further expansions of the company, be it towards Siberia of central Europa, seem inevitable.

Roland is a man driven by ambition and ideas. In his mind exists a vision from a powerful, state like Company, that holds supremacy over this world, be it politically, or economically. Willing to sacrifice anyone or anything for this goal, he has become a cold man over the years, yet still at least tries to hold onto the "Jötunn Honor" that the company Ideology holds high.

The public opinion of Roland Korngold is extremely high in the core regions of Jötunn Global. Presented by the media as a hard working, charismatic leader, Ronald also loves to show himself with the common personal, be it a workers, scientists, or soldiers of W-Wsec. Countless, mostly true, stories are around, how Roland personally intervened to make sure that loyal employees were susceptible rewarded for actions that went beyond their calling. Over the years, something resembling a personal cult has slowly shown itself, as almost every city in Jötunn territory now has a "Roland Korngold Street" with a proper stature of their CEO in it.

His first marriage was with Kathrina Korngold (Born Fischer) and resulted in three children:
