Personality: Luca is a gentle man. He loves people. His passion for helping others and his need to share the light of God often combine. He can be found working at homeless shelters on Saturdays, passing out soup and kind words. He lives at his church, along with anyone else who needs a place to stay.

His personality is humble and kind. He can be taken at face value, hiding no secret agendas or lies. Luca is very much the man he appears to be. He couldn't tell a lie if he wanted to.

On the subject of vampires, Luca is torn. On one hand, he believes that they are dangerous. They obviously aren't holy creatures. But on the other hand, they are capable of good. He doesn't exactly approve of the hunters killing them without even asking questions, but he understands the need to protect the townspeople. However, if a vampire came to him in earnest and asked for sanctuary, Luca probably wouldn't be able to say no.

Luca's tone of voice is almost always just barely above a whisper; below the normal volume but loud enough to be heard is a quiet room. The only times this changes is when he's preaching, and even then it's mostly because he had a microphone. He almost never raises his voice, and doesn't like it when others yell. He leans towards the meek side, although he has become much more outgoing in recent years. He's gotten much more comfortable around strangers, although any type of sexual advances or flirtations make him very flustered and uncomfortable.

Equipment: Just a worn, leather bound Bible and some old hand me downs. Luca believes that living in poverty keeps him closer to God and further from Earthly materialism. As such, he has no house, no car, and everything he owns was given to him. His income from his job goes almost directly back into the church.

Appearance: Luca is a very average man. He stands at 5'9" with dark brown hair, light tan skin, and brown eyes. He is of Romani and European decent, being a mix between the two. His clothes are very humble and modest, consisting of dress pants or jeans on days of the week and collared or button up shirts. On Sunday and Wednesday, he dons the iconic priests' robes to preach. He wears the same pair of brown leather shoes just about every day, except on Sunday when he swaps them for his black ones.

His hair is often a bit messy, refusing to be tamed by a comb. He has a little facial hair, which is usually kept neatly trimmed. Luca doesn't have any piercings or tattoos, but his back and arms are marred with scars from beatings he took in his childhood. Because of this, he often wears long sleeves. If it didn't get too warm in the summer, he would probably wear sweaters all year round.

Other:
Due to traumatic experiences in his past, he doesn't like to be touched without his permission. If someone surprises him with a hug, he stiffens up and is clearly uncomfortable. It's something he's been working on, but it's more or less become a natural reflex.

Luca is a pacifist. It's not so much something he vowed to do, but something that just comes naturally to him. He doesn't like to fight or hurt others, even in self defense. He would much rather try to talk things out, or just run if things get too hairy.

Luca is multilingual. His travels across Europe as a boy taught him to speak bits and pieces of several languages. He speaks fluent German and Romanian. He knew a little English before he was brought to America, but as a whole, he didn't begin speaking it until he was 18. Because of this, he has an accent. However, most people can't really place it.

Because of his priest status, Luca has taken a vow of celibacy. Although, to be honest, he probably would be regardless.

Hobbies of his include reading and gardening. He frequents local bookstores and coffee shops often and tends to the church's gardens every time he gets a chance.

History:

Luca came from a hard beginning. His family was a group of oldschool Romani that traveled the European countrysides. When they came into town to sell and buy, they were often met with discrimination and hate. Most places put up with them until they left, but it was when they reached a small town in Germany that their band was met with brutal forces. The mayor of the town called the police on them, having them arrested and shipped from the country.

Some of Luca's family fled, and some were captured and removed. But in the chaos, Luca was separated from them. At the tender age of 9, the boy was left to fend for himself. He quickly left the town that had attacked his family, afraid that they may hurt or even kill him. Luca wandered until he found a new, larger city to settle in. There, he lived on the streets until he was 13. A farmer approached him, offering him work in return for food and shelter. He had no intent of paying Luca, making the transaction completely illegal and slavery by definition. But Luca was desperate, so he agreed.

Luca worked long days on the farm, doing anything asked of him until his body and muscles hurt. He lived in the barn and ate whatever leftovers were brought to him. Although he was no longer freezing to death or starving, he was still miserable. The farmhands took to mocking and tormenting him, calling him a dirty gypsy while he did their work. If Luca ever tried to defend himself, he was typically beaten up until he learned to keep his mouth shut.

It was during this harsh time in his life that Luca reflected on his mother's teachings of God. Before, he had never given it much thought. But laying in the straw that was his bed, hurting from both work and wounds, faith made it possible to pull through. He snuck off of the farm one day to visit a bookstore in town. He had scraped together just enough money laying around to buy a Bible. He would hide it under the hay in the barn loft and only read it by moonlight at night. It was difficult, as he was practically illiterate, but over the years, it got easier.

Reading the Bible helped him endure years of physical, emotional, and even sexual abuse at the hands of his 'employers'. He was 18 when a couple of Christian missionaries happened to come to the farm to buy fresh produce. They saw the boy in such poor living conditions. After pulling him aside to speak with him, hearing his story, they couldn't leave him there. By this point, Luca had become so accustom to his loss of freedom that when the farmer refused to relinquish him to the missionaries, he didn't even fight it. It didn't occur to him that he didn't actually belong to the man and his awful farmhands.

The missionaries went to the law. Police came to the farm and demanded that Luca be set free, eventually arresting the farmer for unlawful imprisonment and several workers for their treatment of the boy. The missionaries convinced Luca to come back to America with them, where he wouldn't face such cruelty and discrimination. They brought him to the church, where he learned to speak English and live like a civilized person. It took him a while to come out of his shell, but with gentle coaxing, Luca came to regard the clergy as his family.

With the oldest priest's help, Luca studied to become a priest himself. It took several years of hard work, as Luca was so behind on his schooling. But he was very passionate about it. He put a lot of hard work into helping those who lived on the streets, like he once had. He was the driving factor in getting the church's new homeless ministry off the ground. His kindness and drive made him very well accepted among the clergy.

Once he finally was able to attend seminary, paid for by funds scraped together by Father Walter and the clergy, he became a full fledged priest. He was very eager to work alongside his mentor, who had become something of a father figure to him.

Father Walter was a little strange sometimes. He saw some kind of potential in Luca that no one else seemed to see, and his faith in Luca allowed the young man to become what he is now. However, Luca always felt like Father Walter was preparing him for something more than just simple priesthood. He would insist that Luca attend classes on demonology and other odd topics. Luca figured the older man was just a making sure he got a well rounded education of religion. But then came the day that Father Walter left and never returned.

He told no one where he was going or why, but his car was found empty on one of the town's rural roads. It can only be assumed that the poor elder priest was gone from their world. Luca didn't take this news too easily, but he had to remain put together for the sake of the church. After all, Father Walter had left the entire clergy and members in his hands.

Aside from inheriting the church, Luca was also given a dusty old book that had once belonged to his elder. He had never laid eyes on it before, but the first page was dedicated to him. Inside, a note read:

"Dear Luca,

If you have been given this, then it must mean I am gone. I can only hope that I was able to teach you enough before I left my Earthly body. I know you are still young, and you haven't had an easy life, but I believe God has brought you to us for a specific reason. I planned to one day teach you about the strange things in this world, but I wanted to give you a chance to find yourself first.

However, if you have found this journal, then it means that I have died before I got that chance. You must read through this book to learn what you must do, as it is now your duty to take my place. Our small town of Middleborough depends on you..."

Name: Rowan Hunter
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Species: Vampire, of the local coven
Nationality: American

Personality: Rowan comes off as extroverted, friendly, and a little naive: he's sociable and the only thing keeping him from laughing and smiling too much is the white fangs behind his lips. He almost seems like a kid sometimes, making jokes and taking risks elders may deem inappropriate. However, this hides a thirst for blood and a sadistic nature. He lacks egotistical pride, making it easy to hide this behind a goofy personality that people don't bother to take seriously, though he isn't above rolling his eyes or making surprisingly snarky comments if he thinks they'll go unnoticed. Essentially, he has a sneaky personality, but he does genuinely enjoy a good time and close friends. In rare and close moments, he may experience guilt.

Equipment:

• A pocket knife, nondescript and lacks value beyond the monetary
• Tends to have a laptop bag at his side and a camera hanging around his neck

Appearance: Appearing to be in his early-mid twenties, Rowan isn't much older and is a relatively new vampire. Rowan has light, ashen brown skin and yellow-brown eyes worth a double take due to looking like gold. He has a narrow face, his jaw lined with closely trimmed facial hair. He has a tall, thin frame at 6', and his face and shoulders and body are all dotted with dark brown freckles. His hair, which is generally tied back into long, loose dreads, is dark ginger in color; however, it looks dark brown far more often now that it can't reflect the bright sun without Rowan sustaining some sort of injury.

Other:

• He keeps up with his old hobbies, enjoying photography and drawing. This includes keeping a blog under a pen name to share his art.
• He comes from a large family, being the youngest of six children as a human.

History: As a human, Rowan had just graduated with a major in art and was job hunting. The search was a difficult one, not made any easier by the fact he was the youngest and first of his family to graduate college--even if it was with an art major. Regardless, through his talent and hard work, he was able to secure an internship for an artsy-fartsy magazine based in the Mid West. Maybe a little cocky, he looked to prove himself early on, and spent late nights capturing dazzling photos of the dark cityscape. Had he been aware of the existence of vampires, he might not have taken such risks that only ended up biting him in the neck.

Attacked, fed upon, and left for dead by a vampire, he awoke feeling different--he awoke as a vampire. He was also confronted by men in black, some carrying bibles or guns. Understandably scared and confused, he fled. In fleeing and avoiding hunters, he struggled to control his thirst, and the trail of bodies behind him did not help him avoid hunters. Maybe instinctively inspired by what had happened to him, he carried out a plan to get the hunters off of his back: he turned a random victim, and fled, leaving a new scent for the hunters to pick up on.

Stress reduced, he somehow managed to lay low, and he found himself preying on animals instead. No longer leaving a trail of human death behind him, he was left alone. Still, he struggled to control his thirst and cope with the new him. Unable to return home out of fear of what he had become and of what his family would think, he didn't. While passing through Middleborough, he was discovered by the local priest and he reluctantly trusted the man to introduce him to the local coven. He was taken in under their wing, finally getting the guidance he needed as a vampire. This was a few years ago now.

Today, he has better control over his diet and feels more comfortable in his skin. He considers the coven family and is comparable to the dorky little brother--similar to the role he had in his human family. However, with the attacks on humans, he feels safe to do the same. And he feels stronger in doing so, and it shows. Although not impressively strong physically, he has even more heightened senses for his age and the speed to compete even against older vampires. This, of course, threatens the safety and stability of the coven, so it is his darker secret.

Name: Piper Flynn Holmes
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Species: Human, potential ally for either side
Nationality: American

Personality: Flynn comes off as apathetic to the point where her disinterest with life could be because she think she's too good for it--especially since she speaks without filter in all sense of the word. And, indeed, the young woman with tired eyes is more likely to intimidate than she is to be intimidated despite her small stature. However, she's simply disenchanted with normal life after the childhood she's had, and slightly exhausted by the fact that most people have not been rudely awakened by the things that go bump in the night. She has the most fun making music, drinking, and taking risks: she'll never say no to a new experience and the ones that frighten her the most are the ones she wants to do again. Flynn is also dangerously curious, but she's also street smart: she knows there's a time and place for certain questions. To put it simply, she's tired of life so she seeks out thrills, but she's not quite ready to die despite her self destructive nature.

Equipment:

• A small and old motorcycle, kept together by her hardwork and access to tools at the shop.
• A pair of sunglasses, well invested in, to fight against the bright sun when she's too hungover.
• A swiss army knife--defense isn't a concern for her in such a small town, but she's a handywoman.

Appearance: Flynn is of average height for an American woman at 5'5", but much slimmer and this gives her a small appearance. Her mother was Japanese-American, so she's inherited her small nose, light skin, and almond shaped eyes--though in color, they're closer to her father's hazel. When she's in the mood, she accents them with dark eyeliner and shadow to hide the tiredness, but it's not uncommon to catch her going without makeup. There's usually a cigarette between her pink lips and her dark hair is usually unkempt, but falls straight just past her shoulders. In everyday life, she likes snapback hats, plaid flannels, and cozy fingerless gloves. She rarely wears a smile, but when she does, it's surprisingly goofy and crooked.

Other:

• She's a lazy and unprofessional employee at Billie's Autoshop. Billie, the owner, hired her and has kept her due to her not having elsewhere to go; however, his son is transitioning into management. Billie Jr. is harsher on Flynn, with good reason.
• Her go to coping mechanism is alcohol. Despite being so young, she's known by some as the town alcoholic.

History: Flynn was born to an upper-middle class couple. From the outside looking in, they were working the American dream: raised in poverty, her father was a big shot in progress, slowly but surely climbing the corporate ladder with his intelligence and charisma. Even though he alone was able to support the family, her mother owned an auto shop as well, and Flynn spent a lot of time at the garage surrounding by cars, bikes, and heavy tools. Both her parents were hard workers who enjoyed their work--almost none of that rubbed off on Flynn.

Despite the American Family(TM) vibes the Holmeses radiated, all was not well within the household: her father was abusive toward her mother and Flynn was often unable to sleep due to their fighting. Needless to say, her mother spent a lot of time at the shop and her father a lot of time at the office. Flynn was often with her mother, walking to the garage after being dropped off by the bus at home.

Come one day when Flynn was about seven, she started to come home to a babysitter. When she asked her mother about it, the shop was suddenly very busy and she didn't have time to watch Flynn while she worked. Being a kid, Flynn shrugged it off easily enough and she had fun playing with someone even a little closer to her age. even if they were being paid too much. She didn't give the change much thought and adjusted quickly, as kids tend to do.

However, it turned out that her mother was having an affair--and if only that was the shocking part. One night, neither her mother or father came home. The babysitter stayed the night after a phone call. And the next few days would be charged with confusion and emotion: father Holmes had found out about the affair and attacked mother Holmes. She was lucky, though, the doctors said. She healed better and faster than expected and returned home a couple days later, while he sat in jail.

She was..different though, and Flynn couldn't place why at such a young age. Her pale skin had taken on an ashen tone. Her dark brown eyes were red with tiredness. And she rarely smiled or talked. Flynn felt like her mother didn't want to see her as often and she was babysat even more often. Then, one morning, Flynn awoke to find her mother dead. A wooden stake through her chest. She had been turned into and killed as a vampire.

And then suddenly, things had gone back to..normal. Oddly too normal. Officers and detectives--that Flynn didn't recognize from her small town--took over the investigation. They worked closely with priests and Bible thumpers. With her father in jail, the death was ruled a tragic suicide. Flynn's father didn't attack her mother--a strange and dangerous man did. And then everything just...settled down. Flynn's father was released, free of charges, to raise his daughter. Flynn was given a new babysitter. And life went on, both her and her father painfully missing her mother.

The abuse her mother had faced was turned on Flynn, however, and to make it worse, her father picked up drinking. So she would spend her adolescence and young adult life mostly away from home. At a friend's, at the park, where ever. Usually causing trouble, dabbling in alcohol and drugs, too. Her plan was to graduate high school and get out of the small town with horrible, confusing memories. However, she failed junior year and instead of sticking around to try again, she ran away. Her father didn't seem to care and the school was probably happy to lose a troublemaking student, so she was--as far as she was concerned--free.

She ended up in Middleborough, where she started working as an automechanic. And it's been where she's been since, usually awaking too early from nightmares about monsters: abusive parents, uncaring teachers, and vampires.

Name: Father Abel Caverly, prefers just his first name.
Age: 33

Species: Human; Hunter
Nationality: American

Personality: Abel has a very steady, calm demeanor. It takes quite a bit to get him riled up. He is naturally level headed and rational, usually thinking a situation through before reacting to it. Abel is very intelligent and determined, making his a valuable ally and dangerous enemy. He has been described as intense, as his lack of outward emotion can be a little unnerving. For the most part, his face has the same, stony expression regardless of how he may actually feel.

Underneath the outer exterior of calm and calculated, Abel is very capable of being a warmer person. It takes time to earn his trust and respect, and for him to call you a friend. But once he does, you're in it for life. He tends to be pretty forgiving, understanding, and passionate about those he holds dear. To lose his friendship, you'd have to fuck up big time.

On the topic of vampires, the young priest has a clear opinion: most are not to be trusted. In his experience, the creatures enjoy their supernatural abilities and loved to flaunt them over humans. While he knows there is potential for coexistence, he has yet to be convinced that it's a better option. After all, vampires make their living by feeding on human lives.

Equipment: Having served in the army, he tends to prefer guns over blades. Father Abel carries an assault rifle with silver coated bullets. Buying the ammo is the worse part; it's so damn expensive. He doesn't like being dragged down by tons of weapons, so he doesn't carry much with him on hunts. His other trusty weapon is a silver plated knife that was awarded to him upon graduating from seminary.

His hunting gear consists of the uniform black robes with armor underneath. He often forgoes the robe, as it's a little too dramatic for his tastes. The armor is a chest plate and leg pads that are durable enough to deflect blades, as well as fangs. His throat is protected by a collar that resembled that of your normal Catholic priest, but instead of being normal fabric, is made of thick Kevlar.

Appearance: Father Abel is a rather large man. He stands at a towering six foot six inches, and has a very muscular build. His skin is tanned from the sun and his dark brown hair kept in a neat buzz cut. His eyes are a hazel color, favoring a more green color. Overall, he is a very handsome man, perhaps if not for a large, very noticeable brand on his forehead in the shape of a cross.

The brand has faded as little with age, but it's not going anywhere any time soon. Abel could probably get a skin graph to remove it, but leaves it there as a reminder that despite the evil he has seen in other creatures, humans have proven to be the most vicious he has met.

Along with the nasty facial scar, he has several other questionable scars on his body. His preferred style of dress, a t-shirt and jean, cover most. He also sports a few religious tattoos. Because at this point, why not?

Other: Abel is not a typical Catholic priest. Instead of preaching at a church, he was trained specifically to be a hunter.

History:

Abel had a pretty normal childhood. His parents were both religious, but not too overbearing. He was allowed to choose his own path, and Abel chose to become an army chaplain when he was 19. He was a man of God first, and a soldier second. Abel was deployed in several overseas tours to the Middle East, but the last one was certainly the roughest.

He thought he'd faced the worst when he had watched his fellow soldier die in battle, praying with them as they breathed their last. It wasn't until his platoon was captured that he found that there were far worse things than the cold embrace of death.

They were captured be a group of rogue extremists who had little use for them other than to use them as a ransom. After a month of captivity, Abel figured that ransom was never met. They lived in a tiny hell hole, with mud floors and rodents scurrying everywhere. They purposely deprived of food, water, and sunlight to break their spirits. Those who continued to fight were brutally beaten. The top off the misery with fear, about twice a week, one of their men would be taken and beheaded.

Abel was branded with the cross on his forehead due to his role as chaplain, so that he could be properly singled out. He managed to stay alive, despite his daily refusal to deny his faith in the face of his captors. Every day, he was sure he was going to die.

Then, finally, rescue came. Of the fifteen men captured, only four remained. All were required to take leave, and Abel decided that he didn't want to go back. He was discharged from the army with several award for his bravery. But none of that made the pain go away.

His life felt empty after he left the military. He went to therapy and sought counseling, even got a few odd jobs, but nothing felt right. Living with his scars, both physical and mental, was difficult. Finally, he somehow or another came across the vampire hunting guild. Abel felt the need to fight once more. He attended a special seminary school that focused on demon and vampire hunting. When he graduated, he joined the guild that is now roaming Middleborough.

Name: Amelia Draculesti (reference to the historical dynasty)
Age: 561
Gender: Female
Species: Vampire (Elder)
Nationality: Hungarian

Personality: Amelia has two faces; her inner self that is calm, calculating, but compassionate even for humans which at times put her at odds with fellow Vampires when she'd aid one without recompense; then there is the masquerade whereby she is a bar owner in town and an upstanding citizen.

Equipment: Amelia throughout her long life has acquired both equipment old and new. In another time she wore plate armor and wielded a sword named Tyr. Now she wields a Colt Python with an 8" barrel firing a .357 magnum cartridge.

Appearance:


Amelia is regarded as beautiful, unnaturally so, and does not hesitate to flirt as a way to achieve her own ends. Despite being over five centuries in age Amelia does not appear to be more than 21-25 in human years. Frequently masquerading as a bachelorette or biker-chick. Festooned in black shoes, black leather pants showing off her legs, and a leather body-jacket bearing a fanged bat on the back embroidered in red thread. The letters, Sanguis vitam est sanguis woven in silver thread underneath the bat's claws. The translation meaning, The blood is life, life is blood.

Other: Amelia has a hobby of collecting antique medieval weaponry. Often seen frequenting pawn shops and auctions as a result. She can also transfigure herself into that of a white she-wolf.

History: Amelia is a pureblood, born a vampire, and it is all she has ever known. Born in the year 1455 to the Draculesti clan, the vampiric branch of the historical dynasty, and grew up in a coven of vampires. Her early childhood, which spanned a couple decades to say the least, was largely spent in the Carpathian mountains. Amid the numerous human wars in the region, the war torn landscape was often just as dangerous for vampires as humans, and as a result her earliest memories where of being isolated within the coven's castle perched on steep cliffs.

But the invading Ottomans, bent on conquest, had discovered it's location. The vampires at first resisted, but the Ottomans where aided by Vampire Hunters, and in a furious siege lasting more than a month they laid waste to the stronghold in 1480. The few surviving Vampires of her clan fled across the Black Sea to the Caucasus. Thinking that this far flung region would be safe. They where wrong, for the Vatican had followed them, and by 1486 a handful of survivors slipped through the Bosporus straits. Landing in Venice, under the very nose of the Vatican, where they laid low.

Establishing themselves in Venice, Florence, Vienna, and Munich the Vampires began a war of revenge. A secret war of assassination and counter-assassination with the Vampire Hunters. Waging this without end until 1551 when Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, and privy to the secret war. Successfully attacked the Vampires hideouts, using the cover of proclaimed heresy to not arouse suspicion among the greater human populace, butchering every vampire they found in a night of bloody anger. Yet the Venetian branch had escaped. Using great guile they slipped across the Adriatic on a barge, landing in Ragusa, were they again took up their vampiric crusade. Amelia by this time was becoming renowned among vampires as an able warrior and tactician; while, for her extreme beauty, becoming an object of lust by various suitors.

Amelia and the coven she belonged too would not enter secret historical annals again until the end of the Thirty Year's War in Germany. The Vampires, disguising themselves, having aided the Protestants against the Imperial Catholic forces! However, on the field of Lutzen, when Gustavus Adolphus became aware of his allies true nature he was assassinated in the heat of battle. Amelia, dressed in the livery of an Imperial cavalryman, complete with fake beard and cut hair, shot the Swedish King through the heart. Ending this potential breach. The Peace of Westphalia occurred and Amelia took up residence in Paris. Rumors circulated among vampiric circles that she had taken a human lover. For she was spotted with a handsome young man named Rudolf sometime in the 1690's.

As fate would have it, her lover was murdered, apparently for the obscenity of such a relationship. Amelia, took revenge in a kinslaying, and took off into the night. Roving about Continental Europe until the 1790's when she moved to London. Becoming a spy for Duke Wellington against Napoleon. Where she was wounded during the Peninsular campaign of 1808.

After the Napoleonic Wars Amelia joined a small coven of vampires just North of London. Where she resided until 1919 when she relocated to America. Settling in as the second in command of the coven that would reside in Middleborough. Surviving the purge of the Vampire Hunters, once more fleeing, Amelia led the scattered survivors to Middleborough where they now reside.

Taking up civilian life as a bar owner in town.

Name: Clayton John
Age: 57

Species: Human (a hunter of vampires)
Nationality: United States

Personality: Clayton John is a stubborn Reverend and veteran Vampire Hunter hailing from Arizona. A firm believer in the word of Christ, Reverend John has a religious and personal investment in slaying vampires wherever he should come across him, and it is nigh impossible to convince him not to pursue a lead to the location of a Coven of the foul creatures. This holy crusade he has sought out is his life's passion, and he has accepted that it is a dangerous line of work and that he could very easily die. It is a worthy cause to die for; protecting the innocent, guarding those who cannot guard themselves, and cleansing this Earthly realm of Satan's pawns.

He is usually well-spoken and well-mannered, as "Civility costs nothing and buys everything." Only vampires bring out his anger, to normal folk he is a wisened, serious but kind travelling man of God.

But he is anything but civil when he encounters the fiends he has dedicated his life to combat. Unlike some other hunters, he feels nothing but hatred towards the beings, believing vampirism is a choice more than anything and that those infected can be ridden of their disease by prayer for salvation from God. Any vampire who does not seem to want to repent or be saved is an enemy of all that is good in this world. No exceptions. So doing "deals" with the ghouls is a non-option for the Reverend. In his long life as a Reverend, he has brought many troubled souls to the light of the Lord. In his long life as a Vampire Hunter, he has sent many fiendish ghouls to pre-emptively be judged in the afterlife.

His hatred for vampires all aside, he likes to believe that if one of them genuinely got down on their knees, begged for His mercy and His salvation, that he would be more than willing. And that once they did so, they would be cured of their vampirism. He has seen how they react to Holy Artificacts; it is like venom. The cure would be a painful process for them, but if they stuck through the crucible...well, he had no doubt they would be welcome to Heaven with open arms. Perhaps the salvation of a vampire was all he needed to get a good nights sleep once more.

Until then, his shotgun would do God's work.

Equipment: A sawn-off pump-action shotgun and .357 magnum revolver, both with silver pellets and silver bullets respectively. These firearms are hidden beneath his cloak-like Reverned's coat. A cross on a necklace hangs from his neck, and vials of holy water are hidden in various pockets. He also has a canteen of potable water for when he is thirsty. His most important item is the Holy Bible which he often keeps in-hand. It is his rock in trouble times, and a boone to those who seek guidance. Beneath his clothing he can prepare stab-proof (bite-proof) armor.

In his luggage he also carries various hunting weaponry, tools and extra clothing.

Appearance: His features have somewhat softened in his middle adulthood, but he still carries a strong figure and jaw line. His skin has been darkened and calloused by many long days in the sun, giving ferverent speeches to those who need them. He is haggard, his passion is one of great stress and peril, and many sleepless nights have taken to Clayton. A broad nose and tight, grim-lined mouth are atop his stony chin.

Other: He enjoys watching American Football and playing it with his kids, building ships in bottles and mastering board games.

History: Religion runs deep in his family. His father was a pastor, his mother was a missionary, and he took after them, as did his brothers and sister. (Though one of his brothers left the house, confessed to being an Athiest, and only showed up on Thanksgiving and the 4th of July.) He shared a particular bond with his father, often going hunting with him, watching football, ectetera. One night, his father took him into his room and told Clayton a startling secret he had a hard time believing for a long while. There was a secret war of vampires, and it had been going on for a terribly long time. Satan's minions had taken upon the Earth, and it was up to people like Clayton to defend mankind.

In his early adulthood, he spent his time off pursuing leads of vampires, and actually found one in a nearby town after a few disappearences had baffled the police. It was a short but bloody fight, and he felt oddly triumphant as he stood over the body of his first kill. His father was proud, his mother and siblings didn't know.

He fell and love and got married to nice Christian girl named Alice, and fathered two children. He took a long break from his hunting, to raise them right. He moved to a cozy town to the east of Middlesborough, and for several years everything was peaceful. His parents passed away, but it was a natural death and it though he mourned, it was not a tragic loss. He is feeling a strong bond with his daughter, one similar to that of his father, and intends on telling her of the vampires very soon.

But troubling news in the neighboring town of Middlesborough and dreams that instilled feelings of duty, he bid farewell to his children and wife, and is now seeking vampires once again. He will not allow his family or any other to be raised in such close proximity to Lucifer's dark influence.

Personality: Caroline is the very symbol of the small-town Sherriff, despite not being from the small town or a Sherriff. Friendly and upbeat, her introductions to the world of darkness has changed little, excepting perhaps some paranoia and grimness to her. She firmly believes that the vamps should be killed; she sees no good in them and her religious convictions, whilst not strong, have convinced her that these ‘children of Satan’ need to go.

Equipment: Caroline, having been introduced to the world of bloodsuckers and crucifixes actually doing things recently, has no ancient or legacy weapons to her name. Instead, she uses what she’s most familiar with and what she knows best: her Sig Sauer P226, chambered with hollow point ammunition, and her shotgun, the pump-action Mossberg 590. The Mossberg is loaded with, rather than regular ammunition, cheap, low-quality silver pellets loaded into regular cartridges, adding just that little extra boom against the undead.
Appearance: Standing at 5’11”, making her tall for a woman, but not so much for an officer, and having a well-defined and toned body from years working in increasingly difficult and risky jobs and hours spent in the gym, Caroline is actually a fairly intimidating presence, if perhaps not the largest one.

Other: Caroline is on permanent loan to the Middlesbrough police department, and has bought a house in the area. She’s also a competitive clay shooter with her own ammunition loader, hence how she can make her custom silver shells.

History: To say that Caroline is new to the Vampire world, would be a massive understatement. An NYPD Officer for five years, Caroline was sent to Middleborough on loan to help assist with the latest spree in killing. It was here that she met her first vamp, and when Father Luca explained to the new officer what was going on, she quickly realised that the reasn she was sent here and the vampires was connected. Ever since then, she’s been keeping her eye out for more undead.
