hm... so far 2 characters, and 2 possible upcoming characters. I will probably give it 2 or 3 days for people to show up and create characters hopefully. unless I get urged by the current people to start up the roleplay. Will probably close the roleplay when it starts, and do special parts here and there to allow others join in.
@olcharlieboi I'm fine with whatever you choose to go with. I've got a CS to finish with another RP and I wouldn't be on from the 23rd to the 26th of December, so take all the time you need/want to wait for interested members.
@Loki Odinson ya that actually probably good idea to just wait like a day or two after Christmas since everyone will be busy during that time. Well I personally would just be playing new PlayStation 4 games I will be getting for Christmas lol. 5 games, along with recording equipment for my computer so I can start recording videos.
@olcharlieboi PS4 eh? I'm a PC gamer myself and yeah, I'll be playing the games I got during the Christmas sale in between the necessary festive, of course. What kind of games are you hoping to get/already gotten?
@Loki Odinson well I know exactly the games I am getting since I picked them out lol my family isn't that good at picking out things for me in terms of games so I pick them myself normally, Evolve ultimate edition, COD Black ops 3, COD advance warfare, and the borderlands handsome jack collection. I'm a mix personally, I play both console and computer. I wish my computer was better so I can play certain games better, and have better internet as well.
@olcharlieboi Sorry if it's a bit sloppy, I just got back from work a little bit ago.
Name: Kenji Watanabe
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Drawn Number: 4
Backstory: Kenji was born to an abusive family on a cold November night. Upon his birth, there was rarely a time when a mark or bruise did not litter his form, covering it like smudges on glass. His father, Kei Watanabe, was especially hard on him, and did everything in his power to keep his son ahead of the rest. His childhood was not spent outside with friends, instead filled with index cards and calligraphy. Kenji was forced to pour hours a day, every day, hunched over textbooks and worksheets, at his parents constant nagging. This continued for the rest of his life.
At the age of 8, his parents bought him a piano. After 2 years and thousands of hours, they bought him a book on law. Then they bought another. And another. And another.
Kei had high hopes for his child. Kei himself was a doctor, a neurosurgeon to be precise, and he would never settle for his son being anything less than the best. The more he pushed, however, the more Kenji realized how bizarre his family was. His father had the final say in everything, and, unlike the other children in his class, was never allowed to play outside or make friends. He couldn't remember the last time his mother spoke. Luckily, the practice of law was the new dominating factor in his life. All other studies he had took a back seat, and creative pursuits that his father planned for him ceased. Nothing was as important as the law he was forced to learn.
At the age of 14, the beatings stopped. His father, now 52, did not feel safe beating the young man Kenji had become. As a result, Kenji slowly gained more leniency from his parents, as they offered him more personal time in exchange for a favor: They decided his future. Kenji already knew that they decided his future either way, so he took the deal. Every minute of free time he had as spent outside, helping those who could not help themselves. Kenji saw himself in those individuals, and he sought to do everything in his power to protect those less fortunate. Whether it was volunteering at the local soup kitchen, to helping people around his middle school, he accepted any task that was given to him. It was at the age of 15 when he decided to compromise with his parents, and instead of being the hero he dreamed to be, he began to aspire to be a defense attorney.
Upon entering Issei High, an exceptionally advanced school, Kenji immediately decided to run for Student Council President. Even if it wasn't at the behest of his parents, Kenji would have done so anyways; the ability to change the entire school for the better was all to enticing for him. Unfortunately, his poor people skills, fueled by an entire childhood away from other children, led to him being easily defeated by another candidate by a landslide. Instead of becoming president, he successfully managed to win the election to become vice-president, and retained that position for the rest of his life.
With club activities devouring whatever free time he had left, Kenji spent the rest of his time at home, rereading the same books, over and over, until he could recite entire laws by memory. He had memorized the entire Japanese constitution, and could repeat it as easily as he could tie his shoes. With the little free time he had left, Kenji spent it helping the neediest people he could, mainly a foreigner by the name of Ted Wilkins. Ted could barely piece together a sentence in Japanese, but he knew "Thank you" perfectly. Every time Kenji heard Ted say it, his spine tingled and he could barely hide his joy. The feeling of helping another person had become addicting.
Life continued like this, a constant fluxuation between grueling work and helping those who needed it. Life remained like this for the next year. The rest of his life.
Personality: Kenji has a kind, compassionate personality, which holds a sharp contrast with his upbringing and life style. He sees his second life as a chance to actually live his life the way he wants, and believes that it is to be used to help others. Believing that everything had a purpose, Kenji does his best to give everyone he meets good will. As he grew up, he became incredibly inexperienced socially, making it hard for him to pick up social cues and tones of voice. This, coupled with his somewhat sharp and serious facial structure and expressions, resulted in a fear of social interactions. In order to compensate, Kenji adopted an over the top alter ego, which he believes to be his "hero form", which was inspired by the one time his parents allowed him to watch an episode of Kamen Rider.
Despite his kindness, however, Kenji holds a deep hatred towards those who use violence as their primary solution, and will do everything in his power to stop anyone from using this method at the first opportunity. Kenji would do anything in order to help another and avoid conflict, going as far as to lie and cheat in order to keep a promise to someone. It would take the death of someone extremely close to Kenji for him to even think of killing. And even then, it is unlikely he would do so. Following his belief that his second life was a gift, Kenji would do nearly anything for someone if they could convince them that they were responsible for his rebirth, even if that meant killing someone. Kenji, despite his above average intelligence, has a tendency to rush things if it means it will save someone.
Likes: Being relied on, helping the less fortunate, anything mental, and living his life in the moment.
Dislikes: People forcing him to do things, hurting others, disobeying the rules, and not being able to do anything.
Strengths:
Strong moral compass, making him harder to persuade to do evil acts.
His kind disposition makes him easier to trust.
Weaknesses:
He dislikes people who commit crimes, and will always go out of his way to help others.
Kenji tries to not hurt other people, and outright refuses to kill others.
Hobbies: Reading, studying, fighting crime (eventually), helping anyone who needs help, and running.
Other: Kenji is 170 centimeters, and weighs 66 Kilograms. He is nearsighted, and left handed.
@Duoya Please remove the detailed stuff about his death because my first major post is going to deal all with that, it be easier for me and everyone else without that part. mostly skimmed everything else, and that is what majorly poked out at me, so please get rid of that section. I will try to read it all in detail here in a few minutes and say if there is anything else that points out to me that might interfere or something when the rp starts.
Name: Steven Schantz ------------------------------------------------------------ Gender: Male ------------------------------------------------------------ Age: 17 ------------------------------------------------------------ Drawn Number: 20 or 11 if the first number is already reserved/taken. ------------------------------------------------------------ Appearance: Perhaps it had something to do with sleeping in a small room for a decade, but Steven had always been small and skinny for his age. Steven is olive-toned, which fits his adventurous personality. He also had a thin round face, with short black hair, and a pair of brown eyes. He always wore a glasses when he was outside, but he always liked to run around a lot and because of that, most of the time he will run and fall down, breaking his glasses and will be punished by his parents if he did. ------------------------------------------------------------ Backstory: Steven lived with both of his parents in the town ever since he was a baby, with his father a chef and her mother a full-time housewife. Steven's father owned a small restaurant near their home. Steven helped his father most of his childhood time, starting at the age of seven. He never asked for anything in return mainly because he likes to cook. Another reason was that Steven did not relate well to the people of his age, or maybe he did not relate well to anyone which.
Steven hated the school and exams system, he hated that one will only be called "genius" if one passed his maths and sciences with flying colours. Steven was not a smart student, but he sure scored well during the physical test and sports competitions. Steven got into first place for a few sports several times, and he would give all his prizes money to his parents, never asked for anything in return.
One day, his mother received a letter from Issen High School, regarding about Steven has not yet given a clear answer whether he would go on the annual trip with the school. Steven's parents surprised him by paying all the expenses for the school trip, hope that he still can enjoy his high school life even he has not many friends. ------------------------------------------------------------ Bio: Steven likes to cook, play sports, and he is adventurous. He always likes to try new recipes and experiments to help with his father's restaurant menus. Steven organises and systematise the world around him, establishing appropriate plans, identifying and implementing the correct procedures, and then endeavouring to make sure they are followed. ------------------------------------------------------------
@Duoya Alright I don't see anything else right now so his accepted you can move him onto the character tab, will emit he is well fitted to be a support.. which with his ability he really is a support lol
@hivekiller There hasn't really been any completely reserved numbers so far, it all just depends on when a character is released, of course some have been courteous in that regard when some stated they wanted a specific number. so 20 and 11 is free, so pick one you actual want. afterwards it's fine to move over to the character tab.
I hope this is ok! (First game on this board, be nice~)
-CS- Name: Chloe Oshiro (originally Smith) Gender: Female Ethnicity: American (Born in Albany, California) Age: 16 Drawn Number: 7 (Lucky number?) Appearance: Chloe has short Black hair. When she styles it, she can look very cute. However she has had little reason to want to style her hair, not having any friends, which means it often looked quite unkempt.
When not wearing her school uniform, Chloe is wearing jeans and a t-shirt. She owns one very pretty flowery dress that goes down to her knees, which she wears once a year at the family gathering to avoid embarrassing her parents even though she hates it.
Backstory: Chloe’s mother (Alison Smith) married another man, Kaito Oshiro, when she was two years old. She never knew her father, as he left before she was born. The move from sunny California to Japan had been hard on the girl; she struggled to understand the language, the culture differences, and the weather more than anything.
That her mother fell pregnant with her new fathers child when the girl was 7 years old did not help matters. They started to take more interest in the girl (Aimi) than Chloe.
She entered school a year later than she should have because of the length of time it took her to adjust, her new father paying for private tutoring for the girl until she could enrol into school. Her school life wasn’t much better, her American accent making her difficult to understand for the teachers and earned her a lot of bullying. She wasn’t the most intelligent girl either, but she was a natural athlete, easily the fastest in her school. She was soon competing against girls much older than her for the school.
As Chloe got older, her ability to make friends did not improve. Eventually she lost her temper, and was expelled from the school. It took some time for her family to find a school to accept her, but Issen High School had accepted her.
Chloe had a lot of hopes for this school. A new start, and a new chance to make friends? She was excited, but also wary. She started going, and did her best not to create too much notice. The school seemed so much nicer than the last one, and she managed to make a few friends.
Chloe has now been at the school for a few years, and while she isn’t the most noticeable she at least finally managed to start fitting in. Most in the school only know her because of her running.
Bio: Chloe is normally quite quiet and shy. She can be nervous about approaching new people after past experiences. If anyone had taken the time to get to know her (which nobody had so far) she was quick-witted, and enjoyed a good story. She learnt to play the Violin, but not with any great skill. She is normally though very much a tomboy.
She has an allergy to dog hair, which made her home life harder as her father had a dog, and strawberries.
She loves Vanilla ice cream.
She likes athletics, running specifically, and is very sporty. She however hates basketball.
@medalliah Get rid of the 'sadly she wouldn't make it to her first day at this new school...', the entire part of this is everyone has been going to this school for some time now. It's a story point that can't be changed between characters. Everyone will be experiencing the same accident at the same time. I will also suggest to pay attention when I make posts since some of my posts could contain information you need without having to re-ask it, and if you don't see anything then ask. this is something not just for you being new but it is also pointed to even the veterans in this forum that thinks to read this post.
For the future I will offer the advice when you go to join a roleplay, attempt to read all or at lest some of the GM's posts for any information about the roleplay, and view all the finished characters for help. if it's a completely brand new rp then ask a lot of questions to the GM to learn as much as you can involving the roleplay.
I do hope you can learn from joining my roleplay. Unlike some on here, I do try to help new members that appear in my roleplays, I look forward to your participation.
@medalliah Alright with the change I believe the character is acceptable since I don't see anything else that could interfere with the start of the story, or make anything overpowered with the character. So move her to the character tab.
@olcharlieboi - My apologies for the original issue. I had written it intending to not reference the accident, but not taking into consideration that you wanted characters to be part of the school already. I'm sorry for that.
I was just about to add a quick paragraph to cover the years of her being in Issen HS to make it easier for her to have fit in. I can still do that if you would prefer it for ease of character placement, or would you prefer I just leave it as is?
@medalliah It is alright, I don't expect everything to be perfect from anyone,If you wish to do that then you can, it would probably help some, though could always do something like being a transfer student, it's just everyone will be in the same accident and experience being transfer over to the new world at the same time.
