The sun... so bright, so beautiful, for so long.. just a blight in the eye's of one who had lost their way. For so long I stood in the shadows and let the pain eat away at me, let my agony define me, and my anger control me. Laat Dovahkiin, the last dragonborn, the hero of skyrim who would rise to defeat Alduin the God of all Dragons, that was just a small part in my story. From the cutting block in Helgen to this old man sitting here in the shadows of the moon fantasizing about the sunlight he shunned. Life really does come to a full circle in the end, from whence we came so shall we come again when the days grow dark and eye's lose their sight. There is so much that I can not remember now, they are just memories, flashes of a life long lived across old eye's. This will be my last writing, my mind is waning and my eye's are closing and this time lest they close for good. These words will make no sense, for those that would know them have long perished in my age. But know whoever finds these words that I died finally without regret, that my long reign in the dark has come to its end, that the last dragon born now in the waning signs of the morning has moved from this place.

Locknar's hand shook as he wrote the words on the parchment, the warm air blew across him as he looked out upon the grassy knolls below the deck of his home. For a moment his sight blurred and his hand stopped, his time was very near and there was no stopping now what none can escape. Even the strongest of warriors must one day face their own mortality. Lest this was the hour that he go, he would go in peace and not in battle like many before him had predicted he would go. Locknar slowly put the quill aside in the well of ink and stood shakily on weakened legs and walked to the balcony silently. This would be his last look over Skyrim, his last look over everything he built, destroyed, saved, it was the way that true Nords all longed for in the end, even if most believed Nords longed for death in battle. Even an Imperial raised Nord could see that if one lasted this long then it was a good life. Locknar's eye's blurred again, he raised his hand wiping his arm across them, when his sight return he saw curiously, a man standing below him on the grass below. The man was but a simple commoner, one whom lived not far to the north of his house, a farmer whom he did not know his name. Locknar's eye's blurred once more and when his sight returned fully the man before him was just suddenly gone like he had never been there. Squinting the darkness Locknar looked around slowly, there was not much surprise in his eye's for he had been seeing things for days now, preludes and memories marking his time to pass, all though why he saw a farmer he never really got to know was beyond him.

”Memoirs.. I see that you humans still like to write your little books. One such as me never understood the need to record events that would long be forgotten, but I am far from understanding the vicarious nature of humans.”

Locknar heard the voice from behind him, he turned silently to face the farmer from below, in his hand was the piece of parchment he had been writing upon. Once upon a time the man before him would pay for such and intrusion, but and old body against young was not a reality. Then again Locknar felt as if the man before him was not what he seemed but his mind was too foggy to think straight beyond that small realization.

”Are you death come to take me?”

Locknar spoke the words lowly his breath in short gasps, his heart beating slower and slower, the time was very near. The man in front of him dropped the piece of parchment, his face neither reflected surprise, nor amusement from the question, in fact no emotion could be seen on his face, he was like a rock.

”No I have not come to claim your soul, Sithis is the one who had lay claim to your eternal rest, I have no need for such things. No I have come because the balance that is Tamriel is being threatened and your passing will tip the scales and the balance in which I longingly preserved will thus be shattered and this I can not allow. For you see when your creation was to be you had a set path, but your mortal toils strayed you from it and what you were set to accomplish remains undone and this alone will spell the end for all.”

Locknar shook his head slowly as he struggled to understand what the man was every trying to say. At that moment he could barely comprehend none the less understand. The only thing he understood now is that it was time to go and at least he would not go alone, even if the one before him was making less then any sense to him. Locknar grabbed the wooden rail as his breathing became less steady, his heart slowly ceasing to beat, slowly looking up the man stood before him his hand extended towards him.

”Balance must be preserved and you must live to do so.”

Locknar suddenly felt a great pressure on his body, he rose in the air as he felt like electricity was flowing through his body, his vision suddenly became less foggy as he found himself standing within a world of darkness and decay. He felt his mind clear slowly as he became to comprehend better then he had in the waning years. Looking down Locknar saw his aged and dieing body however he felt energy within him again. Locknar walked forward as he approached a large body of darkened water, he looked into it and saw his reflection appear back before him, as he watch his body suddenly began to change his age seemed to just slowly transform away as his muscle returned to him, his energy long lost returned to him as his entire being was transformed before his own eye's.

Locknar looked down upon his own body as his color had returned, his youth had been restored, the world swirled around him as the stranger from before came back into view, Locknar felt his feet hit the wooden deck below. As the light around him disappeared Locknar raised his hand up stretched his fingers before making a solid fist, turning his looked at the wooden railing, with one solid punch he broke his fist through the railing to his own surprise. He was young again, its almost as if he had been sent fifty years back in time to his prime. Locknar slowly turned to face the man from before, his mind was clear now as he spoke in a deep roughened voice.

"What did you do to me? Why did you stop me from dieing? I do not understand why I have been spared what was to be my end. Who the hell are you? Some sort of Daedric god trying to buy my allegiance with youth?"

"Quiet mortal!"

The man hissed at Locknar as he raised his pushing Locknar back with a rather hard gust of energy, Locknar caught the railing as he looked back at the man with bated breath, however he kept quiet as he was not stupid enough to do anything more without trying to figure out the situation before him.

”Understand that I did not desire to revive your life to you, it was your own failings that brought you to the brink of Sithis, your mortal toils corrupting your once vibrant soul. Your time in coldharbour however has been erased and for that you should kneel to me for there are worse places then this Skyrim. But I care not for subtle human respect, long ago you were Laat Dovahkiin, a hero to these lands, your destiny was set before you even before your birth and this destiny you embraced, you brought light where there was dark and brought balance between the good and the evil. But your emotions clouded your judgment and you turned from that path, you became the very thing you for so long fought against. You let yourself succumb to the darkness and for that you were damned, and you damned all of Tamriel with you, for your destiny was not yet done, the road not yet finished.”

Locknar scowled at the being before him but could say nothing for he spoke the truth of the matter and that could not be denied. Locknar had fallen to his own pain, the loss he suffered drove him into the shadows and he caused the same chaos he had once fought. But he was not that person anymore, he had long ago walked from that path trying to find the light again, to become who he had been before and not the man he became.

”Who are you, what are you, a god?”

If it will sate your human curiosity yes I am a God, I have inhabited this souls body for a time to come to you and you alone. Mortals could never speak my true name but I ages long past I was known as Anu the god of justice, light, I am the embodiment of all things that choose the good over evil. I helped to create everything that is and I am the one who created you very much like my brother Padomay created Alduin. We are two forces of opposite sides, the light and the dark, the balance that makes life possible. Throughout all of history of Tamriel there have been heros and there have been villians, one bent on destruction of all and one to save it, and the balance was preserved. Every prophecy, every Elder Scroll as you deem them, it was all born through us. Born through one purpose, to keep the balance between darkness and light. But now that balance is threatened, my brother moves to destroy everything, to upset the balance and throw Tamriel into complete chaos and this I can not allow. Your life was meant to preserve this balance, but you chose to walk away from your destiny and now darkness is coming to cover all of Tamriel.”

Locknar listened silently what he was being told was beyond anything he had ever before encountered. If what was being said were true then there were gods above Akatosh above the nine divines, the gods that truly created everything. An the darkness Anu spoke of, what was this darkness that was coming and how had he been the one to cause this... unbalance between light and dark?

”I see the confusion before your eye's mortal it is the one thing I can understand about your kind, they fail to see the entirety of their mortal lives. Your life was suppose to inspire others to take the mantle an rise above and become heros just like you used to be. Your life was intended to create the new heros that would be the ones to face what is now coming to Tamriel but because your turned to darkness you alone have changed the future. I am here now to right it, to allay the darkness that now threatens to consume all, there is still time and you are going to be my instrument in preserving the balance.”

Me? What can I possibly do aside from face this darkness myself? An if your power is so mighty then why do you need me, why can't you keep the balance yourself instead of using us like mortal pawns?”

”Don't test me mortal the only reason your alive is because of your usefulness. I can not directly mess with the fate of the mortal planes, these rules in which were set by both me and my brother. I can influence and preserve but I can not directly involve myself. Reviving your life essence is close enough to breaking that rule. Besides my brother and I are of exact same power, our first fight created all the planes mortal an alike, if such a fight were to happen again all life would end as you know it. An you can not face this new darkness mortal, your time is passed and thus you are no longer meant to be the one to save Tamriel. No you will train the ones who are meant to face this darkness, thus comes the end of my presence here. Within the coming days warriors of all races and gender will be approaching you, they will not know the reason why, and you will not tell them until such a time that it is right to do so, you will know when. You will train them so they may claim their destiny and in doing so you can redeem yourself so when your time arrives you can go to a place where you can truly rest in glory and not despair because if you choose to believe or not, there is life after you leave this mortal coil.”

Locknar blinked merely a fraction of a second and Anu was gone completely from view, looking around silently Locknar knew himself to be alone now. Walking to the table slowly Locknar picked up the piece of parchment he had been writing on and looked at the words. Looking up he crumpled the piece of parchment up on his hand for his story had just been rewritten and his path had been made clear to him now. True darkness was coming and he would be the harbinger who would usher in the ones who would stop it.

Hello there and welcome to Hero's of Tamriel I am glad you took a moment to stop in and have a look. To alleviate some of the questions that might arise I am adding this note to the end of the short opening story. This story is taking place approx. fifty or so more years after the events of Skyrim. The current time frame is Era 4 Year 262. You the roleplayer will be assuming the role of a character of your creation whom of which is destined to become a hero that will stand in the face of a new darkness threatening all of Tamriel. This story is going to start specifically in Skyrim and at certain points will progress to other lands. Some of you might ask about why you came to Locknar for training a man you have never meant before, this is entirely up to you, aside from the fact your destiny is to do so you can decide why you did it, a vision, a dream, someone told to you to, its up to you. My character Locknar is powerful and has mastered most skills, this is simply for roleplay purposes to train you so no its not because I am power hungry. I will not be making an actual character (to train) as your all the heros I am just an old coot who got a second chance at life ;). I am not implementing a level system I thought about it and even toyed with one but I would rather not complicate this anymore then it might become, so if it comes down to Player vs player I will moderate your fight if you find yourselves incapable of coming to a conclusion. Finally this is an open world roleplay, nothing is set in stone aside from the main storyline, when your not training with my character you life is your own, have a drink, help your ma an pa on the farm, rob someone (actions have consequences remember that) this is free roam like the game itself. I believe that should conclude what I wanted to get out there for you to know, if there are any questions, confusion or so forth you feel free to message me through PM or the thread I am happy to answer.

Before I join, I was wondering if hybrids are allowed. Now I'm not talking like, a Nord with a Khajiit tail and ears or anything, but the character being mostly of the mom's race with a decent amount of the dad's race characteristics (Both good and bad).
