In short how is your country run? How is your ruler selected? How much power does your ruler have. Is it a monarchy, a republic, or something else? What is the ruling dynasty? I don’t want to see five paragraphs here about how your monarch has to go through parliament to select viceroys or something. It needs only be long enough to provide a sufficient summary of your government. Feel free to add additional info under a hider if you feel compelled to.


This should be more just a claim of your location. Talk about the climate, terrain, and important locations in your country. Specifically mention major cities and your capital. Bonus points if you have an internal map that includes highways.


Much like the government section, don’t drown us in details, though feel free to add more info under a hider or something. Is your country culturally homogenous or a mixture of ethnicities? Are your people humans or some other race? If you have various ethnicities, how do they interact with each other? What are your people’s values? Bonus points for adding insults they use to refer to the people from countries they have been at war with. A note about nonhuman races: do not simply make them arbitrarily superior to humans, if they are better than humans in one way then they will be inferior in another way.


How do your people fight? What strategies and tactics do they usually employ? What sort of equipment do your troops use? What’s the emphasis of your military? Try to be somewhat unique here. If a pre-existing country makes heavy use of heavy infantry and shield walls, for instance, don’t do the same yourself. I am not interested in numbers or percentages, so don’t use them.


Each country gets one superior hero and three normal heroes. In terms of combat strength expect a superior hero to be on par with about 150 men and normal heroes to be on par with 100 men. (Yes, this is the only place in the sheet where there are actually numbers) Basically these are the badasses of your country that you can use for point of view characters if you want. At absolute bare minimum you need a name and one line description of what your hero is good at; however, ideally this should be the largest section of your sheet. You can use any explanation you want for why your heroes are stronger than normal people. For example using magic, being blessed by a god, or simply being very skilled with their weapons. Also keep in mind that if a hero dies you can replace him or her with a new one.


A brief history of your country is fine, so long as you cover the last 20 or so years. I’m looking for more of a summary of important events than list of dead monarchs.

Yllendthyr is an island nation isolated from the rest of the continent. It's surrounded by greenery and lush forests only broken up with the appearance of occasional cities and mountains. The capital and residence of the Queen of Yllendthyr is in Yllendor, a tower-city with its tall shine and beauty can be seen from all around the country.

Yllendthyr is a monarchy lead by its hereditary divine rulers. The Queen (Ymerodres) fulfills the role of both supreme ruler and head priestess of their religion, the Arvandor. In effect though most of the political power is handled by the Chymanfa, the house of lords that covers the council of the most prestigious and influential noble families of Yllendthyr. As in a typical feudalist system they have large degree of autonomy and only answer to the Queen for their deeds. In spite of that these families are also the most devout believers in Arvandor thus they generally have unwavering loyalty to the Queen and serve as the pillars of her authority. Yllendthyr's culture put considerable emphasis on personal freedom and no elf could ever belong to anyone but themselves. As such there are no serfs or land-bound lower classes, every elf on Yllendthyr regardless of their birth are free. On the other hand the only class with ownership of lands are the nobles. Agriculture, mines, forests and so forth, it always belong to a noble thus commoners must pay "rent" for using it. Cities have an unique status which attracts craftsmen and merchants and generally they enjoy favorable taxes. Still, the system has holes and urbanization progresses very slowly. The longevity of elves also have a strange effect on their politics. Rulers usually don't change for centuries but more importantly elves have a different perception of time and this makes them seem rather conservative and slow to change as a whole.


The majority of Yllendthyr's population are elves and their cultural norms dominate on the island. Compared to humans elves are frail and beautiful people with their fay origins linking them closer with nature and magic. Elves are long lived which combined with their slow maturation gives them a different perception of time. Indeed for an elf anyone under 100 years may seem like a youth or even a teenager. This also have the effect that while elves are one of the oldest cultures the large gaps between generations make any changes to their society slow. Entire human countries rise and fall over reign of just one of Yllendthyr's queens. Elves live in relative harmony with their environment, their settlements are built upon giant trees, almost blending into the forest. Only cities and forts stand out with their stony walls. Elves mastered hunter gatherer lifestyle and it still takes up a significant portion of their society. They abhor extensive farming and their agriculture is striving for balance with nature. Contrary to the popular belief elves do cut trees but they do it with care and respect. Lumberjacks of other countries are viewed with scornful emotions. Elven society believes in personal freedom and acquiring experiences. There are no serfs and any elf on Yllendthyr regardless of their birth are free to travel within the country or even visit foreign countries. On the other hand only nobles (Arawen) are allowed to own lands. Anyone else wishing to operate mines, use fields or forests must pay a "rent" to the noble. This land ownership came to be during the ancient times when noblemen were responsible for fighting as part of Yllendthyr's military. These traditions haven't completely died out and nobles have the duty to maintain armies for both defending their land and aiding the Queen in war. Another interesting social group are the citizen whose numbers are on the rise thanks to tax cuts and other benefits for people living in cities. This "merchant class" is on the rise albeit as everything this change is progressing slow within Yllendthyr. While elves enjoy freedom other races within Yllendthyr are not as fortunate. Humans, orcs, lizardmen and any non-elven race are generally viewed as slaves and owned like property. Albeit mistreating slaves is heavily frowned upon and one can also prove their status by their generosity to slaves. Regardless their numbers are on the rise, the non-elvish population already approaches the 36%. That being said certain non-elves rose up in society and become subtle defining figures. Also visitors are always met in Yllendthyr with hospitality.

Warfare and military affairs in Yllendthyr are generally exclusive to the nobles. Each noble has the duty to defend their lands and answer to the Queen's call to war. A noble army is called Aramegyr and each is effectively a private force maintained by the said noble. The size of an army is determined by the size of the lands they own albeit there are minimums and leeways for larger armies. Among nobles of status their army is one of the most important way to show up to each other. The army of greater nobles is of course also supported by their vassals' Aramegyr and as you can bet this system can get convoluted quick. Even more problematic is when multiple nobles of high status are on the field. There could be considerable infighting to decide who owns the right to command the army.

Yllendthyr is an island country living in relative isolation. While trading with the neighboring seafaring races is relatively common Yllendthyr generally shies away from geopolitics and its people try to keep their contact with the outside to the minimum.

I am gonna include both my heroes and other named characters at the same place. My military section may have summaries on heroes and their abilities but not much else. So if you want saucy stories or just have an extra 5-10 minutes to waste, you might read this in the future (when I get to finish this NS).

Government

In the not do distant past, Tushienia was an aristocrats wet dream; The king was an inbred retard that was more then content to be left in a room playing with kittens all day (and he had to be watched carefully to much sure he didn't harm them by accident) which resulted in the parasitic nobility of the nation to more or less do whatever they wished due to the lack of central authority to hold them accountable for their actions and freely bled the lower classes dry. The 'Orphan Rebellion' lead by Uzereda Nightshade changed that.

Now a days, Tushienia is lead by Uzereda Nightshade the 'King of Orphans' with an iron (but gentle) fist. The noble families of old were hunted and slaughtered whole sale and their lands and property was rewarded to the new King's loyal supporters in order to form new noble families that were not only loyal to their king, but fit for the task of actually building up the nation's infrastructure with goals of becoming a truly great nation.

While King Uzereda Nightshade's word is law, he isn't above listening to other points of view before making a decision.

Geography

Culture

Tushienia is a largely human nation, largely due to it's location but partially due to the purges performed by the old nobility. The rise of King Nightshade has changed the racial viewpoint of the new ruling class due to his status as an undead Lich of great magical power; While other races haven't started flocking to Tushienia yet, most of the old hatreds aimed at them in the past were purged alongside the noble families of old.

While it has only been a few years since the Orphan Rebellion, King Nightshade and Orphans that he raised as Heroes (in a similar manner to the heroes of the Silver Legion of old) are openly praised by the citizens of the kingdom as saviors from the horrors of the Old Nobility, which have been demonized by history (with some of the more infamous noble families actually being worse then any demon in any hell you could name could ever hope to be).

For the first time in many years, the people of Tushienia are actually hopeful about the future.

The Eisen Confederacy is a united coalition of Fortress cities. Each Fortress is led by an Overseer and a governing council. Within each fortress lies a large, mystical slab of ore, known as the Fortress. The Overseer is chosen at birth by the Fortress Heart during the traditional Volkswrought birth ceremony. The child is then trained in the skills necessary to lead a fortress, taking up the position after the death or retirement. While the Overseer in practice has complete authority over the Fortress and its denizens, it is rare for one in such a position to trample upon the freedoms of its people, unless the survival of the Fortress is at stake. The governing council is chosen by the Overseer for their skill in knowledge in various areas.

The VolksWrought: With shining bodies of polished metal, the Volkswrought are a race of tall, strong, and ponderous humanoids. Legend has it that the Volkswrought were created deep within the earth, in the fiery forge of a long forgotten god. Volkswrought resemble humans in basic body composition to a degree, though they tend to be larger and taller, the average Volkswrought standing at 6"5. From their head grows thick locks of corded metal. Their skin and bones are also composed of metal, though underneath their outer metallic coating lies fleshlike material and blood, similar to what one would find in the other races of the world. While their metal skin does act as a natural coat of armor, it is not as resistant to damage as true forged armor, and can be pierced or slashed through. Volkswrought are very strong, and very heavy in weight. Their weight causes them to be very slow in movement, many of the other races consider them to be quite ponderous. Their metal bodies also make it impossible for them to swim, and as such they have a natural fear of large bodies of water. They do not practice the art of seafaring, and will only board a water vessel if absolutely necessary. These beings have a natural affinity towards Earth magic and magic involving metal, most individuals having an innate ability in this regard. Volkswrought are completely incapable of magic not involving the shaping or moving of earth or metals, and actually have a particular weakness to fire magic.

Their culture is centered around the Fortresses in which they live in. The well being of the Fortress comes first, beyond all things, even ones own life. Within each Fortress lies a large mystical slab of strange ore known as the Fortress Heart. It is from this Heart that all Volkswrought attain life and purpose, for every Volkswrought child is virtually dead upon birth. It is not until a Volkswrought newborn is brought before the Fortress Heart that it attains life. It is said that the Fortress heart contains the life force and memories of the Volkswrought who have passed on before. When a newborn is brought before the Heart, this life force flows into the child, bringing it to life and burning a mark upon its body. This mark will determine it's profession and purpose within the fortress.

The Volkswrought are fond of industry, and will dedicate themselves to the perfection of their craft, doing their part to bring honor and renown to their Fortress and ancestors. Due to the hostile nature of their neighbors the culture of the Volkswrought has a very strong martial element to it, each Volkswrought male taking up a martial practice in conjunction with their main profession.


Much of the military of the Eisen Confederacy consists of militias, each Fortress maintaining it's own independent militia. Every male denizen is considered apart of the militia. Each militia is led by a militia commander, who is selected by the Fortress Overseer. There is no standard structure or protocol in regards to organization or equipment. Each militiamen brings to war whatever weapon he is most fond of using, so each militia ends up being a eclectic mix of warriors. In general, Volkswrought warriors prefer weapons with long reach, to make up for their slow movement speed. Polearms, long spears, claymores, and large two handed axes are all common sights within any given militia. Volkswrought are also very fond of using javelins and war darts, and will often use them in conjunction with a shield. As far as long range weaponry is concerned, Volkswrought prefer the use of crossbows.


While the fortress militias make up the bulk of the confederacy's defensive might, the Brutrein, an elite mounted warrior trained from birth in the arts of combat and war, is the back bone of their offensive fighting strength. Brutrein tend to be larger than the average Volkswrought warrior, and possess a higher degree of magical skill. They are usually equipped with heavy armor, and ride upon metal steads known as Todsburners. These creatures resemble a lizard, with segmented metal scales, and a long tail, the sides of which are sharp. Much like with the militia men, The arms Brutrein bring to bear can vary, though all Brutrein carry lances, and javelins or war darts.



The Brutrein operate outside of the Fortress structure, in legions, for the safety and protection of all Volkswrought. Each fortress contributes militiamen to support the Brutrein in their campaigns, in both combat and support roles.

The Volkswrought prefer defensive tactics, and are quite proficient at defending towns and castles. On the field, the Brutrein will charge into the enemy, breaking up formations while the slower moving militia moves in, firing bolts, javelins and war darts before closing with the enemy.

The Eisen Confederacy has a warm relationship with the peoples of the Sakabanatu region, freely trading with the various tribes there. The Eisen Confederacy also has a trade agreement with Clan Brakor to the north, though their relationship is somewhat tenuous.
