Just a quick question. In your rules you say that you would prefer us to create at least two if not more characters for this RP. I intend to do this as it will make playing the dichotomy of this story easier, but would it be okay if I just start with a single character sheet? I have a couple different ideas for characters and would like to see how the story develops before determining how to insert them. If you need at least two up front, that's fine too.
Age: Considered young for a dragon, Melusine has yet to reach her second century. Her calmed state paints her as a woman in her mid-twenties.
Gender: Female
Race: Dragon
Weapons: As a noble Melusine rarely has to rely on her own abilities for self – defense. She does carry a small assortment of ornate, thin stiletto knives. She is also skilled in archery, though it is more of a noble hobby and she is rarely seen carrying a bow for any other purpose.
Appearance:
I’m really not a fan of using images for a couple reasons but here you are. Found this image on deviantart. I want to point out that while this image essentially captures what she looks like, it is oversexualized and she would typically dress more modestly.
Divine Appearance:
Personality: Melusine is somewhat notorious for being hot tempered and harsh spoken, much to the headaches of her father. She is quick to get involved and to force others to include her when making important decisions, especially those involving the royal line. Oftentimes people mistake her sharp personality for cruelty, resulting in most hesitating to get close to her. She does allow a small circle of individuals to know her softer side, those marked by the fact that she tolerates them referring to her as “Mel.”
Short Biography: Melusine was born the second daughter of the Nocturne family. Strong willed as a child, Melusine exhibited the fiery passions and curiosities innate within her dragonkin more so than most. So often was it that Melusine was placing herself in dangerous situations and confrontations that her father had to assign a bodyguard to her to ensure her safety and occasionally the safety of those around her. In an attempt reign in Melusine’s temperament Lord Rylon has established her as an emissary to the other dragon kingdoms hoping she would better master the customs and courtesies necessary for one of her pedigree. While Melusine detests this role and makes few friends carrying out the wishes of her father, her keen intellect and relentless nature inarguably make her a very effective negotiator.
Here you are. I can write more if you desire but for the most part I hope to flesh this character out as the RP develops. Let me know if I took too many liberties or if there’s something I’m missing.
Username: Yuuta Name: Azaera Dawnspear Age: Looks 23 Gender: Female Race: Dragon Weapons: While she doesn’t generally carry any weapons, she is proficient with the rapier. Her attendants insisted that she know how to defend herself should she ever be caught unguarded. Appearance:
Divine Appearance:
Personality: Courteous and charming on the outside, but discerning and judgmental on the inside. She delights in gossip and intrigue, as well as attention. If her beauty doesn’t make her the centerpiece of a room, she’ll find another way to make it so. Consequently, she is given to jealousy when others find a way to outshine her. Short Biography: As Lord Ashtin’s niece, Azaera was doted on and received the best education that a dragon could, though her strengths lied in the arts. She caught on to the subtleties of dragon nobility quickly and earned herself a reputation as a model noblewoman. She discovered a love for performing and never turned down a chance to sing. As a noblewoman, she had little need for more wealth, so she decided to tour Athea doing charity concerts. She relished in the praise she got for her voice as well as for her “altruism,” and now stands proud with an impeccable reputation. When she heard of these new creatures called humans, she became intrigued. She has asked numerous times for her family to arrange an escort so she can grace them with her presence. Other: She is widely acknowledged as the best singer in Athea.
Age: He appears to be in his late 20's, however he is well into his fifth century.
Gender: Male
Race: Dragon
Weapons: Several centuries of hunting for a living has honed Teron's skills with the bow, and he keeps it within arm's reach at all times. Usually he will carry his bow on his back, along with around twenty arrows. he also uses a knife, primarily for dressing his kill, but has no qualms with using it when an adversary gets too close.
About 5'9", 165lbs
Personality: Teron is not one, typically, for conversation. Though he hides most of his emotions well and is a very isolated sort of fellow, he does seek the thrill of adventure and often finds himself to be a bit bored by his day-to-day life. Though he has lived for so long rather comfortably, he finds himself quickly growing tired of his simplistic lifestyle and has recently been on the move a lot more than usual, just to find newer and better things to do. As for being in company, he is rather indifferent to it. On the one hand, he finds himself better off by himself, being able to move and act as he pleases, which is why he hasn't made too great of an effort to associate himself with anyone thus far. On the other, however, Teron has recently been thinking of finding a sort of companionship, someone to talk to and interact with to keep his mind from wandering away from him.
Short Biography: Teron is descended from a line of traitor-dragons, each of them abandoning their House they were born under, each of them cast away by society for their lack of allegiance. Teron took refuge from the scrutiny of dragonkind within the lush forests of Dawnspear territory. His own heritage stemming primarily from Dawnspear, Teron adjusted well to the wilds, using his talent of fishing and hunting to earn himself a decent living. Never settling in one place for too long, he has seen much of the Dawnspear region and enjoys the travel itself, but makes plans to find a permanent residence in the future. Stumbling upon a band of adventurers one day, he offered them aid through the woods in exchange for some coin as well as recent news, alerting him to the arrival of these creatures called humans. Intrigued by the prospect of meeting this race from a far away land, he began his trek east, toward the Silvergale shores.
Name: Lucille Geadais
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Weapons: Her combat training has been seldom, but is able to brandish a blade if necessary. The rough life of sailing has given her a great deal of strength for a girl of her size, however, surprising the occasional sleaze that would approach her with a swift right hook.
5'3", 115lbs
Personality: Lucille is a caring, quiet girl, with a determination and strength that rivals even the sailors of legend. Having spent her whole life either beside or on the water, she is in love with the call of adventure and accustomed to meeting people of all walks of life. Though her mind often wanders, she is quick to act in any situation where a sharp wit could mean the difference between keeping afloat or sinking. When you can get her talking, she is abrupt and cares little for remaining pleasant, the sailor's tongue in her mouth rather boisterous, which she finds humorous when she addresses those who expect better of her.
Short Biography: Born to a sailor and a tavern wench, Lucille's mother passed away shortly after Lucille's birth, her father away at sea when his daughter was left without a home. The tavern owner, having no child of his own, raised the lass with his wife until the girl had reached her teenage years, when she swore to set out as a crewman and find her father. For four years she sailed, a rare beauty amidst the rough and rugged sailors she had accompanied in her travels. Her heritage was thick in her blood, her strength and wit proving her more than capable to work alongside the broad-shouldered men aboard. At each port, she would hop on whatever new vessel would take her, always asking the ship's master if they knew the name Angaid, which was her father's, always left disappointed in never getting the answer she had hoped for. She had heard of a ship making ready to travel the Clouded Sea, a body of water yet to be traversed to the other end, and have one return. In dire hope, Lucille pondered whether her father had journeyed across the great waters, and boarded the large ship as a sailmaker and general crewman. The sight of land lifted her spirits, as she also saw a port of which they could dock. Now, however, her thoughts have shifted, seeing the great people of this land of Athea.
Other: The thought of the dragons frightens her, as it would any young girl, but she can't help but be drawn to them in their mystery and magic. So long as she remains in this land, her mind will very seldom dwell on her father, and more on discovering what she can about these dragons.
I actually really like the lore you've built up here, and seeing how dragons are freaking awesome, I'm totally game for this! Maybe expect a character sheet sometime tomorrow?
Username: @Thecrash20 Name: Dracul Age: 274 Years. Appears to be in his late 20's. Gender: Male Race: Dragon Weapons: -Sword and Shield -Steel Armor Chest piece
Divine Appearance
Dracul is a larger Dragon with long hooked claws. His White skin and scales highlight his Bright Blue eyes. He is littered with old war scars that cover his Dragon form, from head to toe. His head bears two side tusks that appear to be missing chunks and dulled out from age. When he lets out his flame, it comes out as a sparkling Blue wave.
Calm Appearance:
Dracul in human form is smaller than most others of his kind. He has a large scar going down his right eye, but still like his dragon form has many painted on his body.
Personality: Dracul in the confides of his home and friends, is enjoyable man who doesn't take many things to heart and likes to have fun. This personality shows more often with his mate and old war buddies. Now that war is over he has turned to be more friendly and sarcastic.
During the time of war over a hundred years ago, and occasionally when serious, he is a loud decisive man. Always a serious frown painted on his face, the scars only enhancing his composure. He follows a strict rule of codes and holds the value of Honor very dear to his heart. When he trains and leads his men, he occasionally tunes into the personality of his younger self, causing either inspiration or fear in his comrades.
Short Biography:
"My teeth, swords! My Claws, Spears! My Wings, bring a Hurricane!"
Dracul was just a young drake during the Wars of Athea. The fires of War had forged him into the mighty warrior that stands present. During the Great war he was renown, named the Blade Of Nocturne for his ferocity in the air and land. He was one of the mighty that had brought peace to the land, even though as reluctant as he is for the war to end in a stalemate. After the War had ended so many years ago, he was assigned to be one of the Lead drakes in a Wings of a Nocturne wing. He has named them, The Wicked Stones.
Currently Dracul holds one mate. Her name is Galzra Darkrock. She is the Daughter of a Noble who died long ago during the wars that past. They have been together since a little time after the War in a tent that was treating wounded Nocturne Soldiers. She is the only thing he holds dear now, her existence completing his. Although he has been met with criticism since it is known that she could not bear any children to continue Drakul's blood. He seems content, but does wish he could have a children to carry on his legacy.
@AmbraOkay, quick question. I know you aren't wanting trans/gay/nonbinary characters, which is understandable, but what about a woman in a position of military power? In history, it's definitely been uncommon, but there have been a few instances of that, right?
Personality: A charming fellow with an easy smile and a relaxed posture that he has carefully sculpted over decades of practice. He relies largely on his silver tongue to get him out of trouble when it rears its ugly head. Although his past has given him a long list of skills, his personal view is that a battle avoided, is a battle won.
Short Biography: Vaerune began life among the lower class, without the comforts or the distractions of nobility. Raised as the son of a disinherited minor noble mother and a simple hunter father, opportunities for a better life were few and far between, even considering the lifespan of dragons. Still, he had food in his belly, a roof over his head, and his father was an excellent teacher when it came time for him to begin aquiring a trade. His mother, however, had other plans for her son.
Vaerune’s mother taught him that words and favors, could often cut deeper than even the sharpest swords. When he was not out hunting with his father, she ensured Vaerune was taught not only the basic education given to minor nobility, but that he also understood the value of information. These were the first steps along the path that would take Vaerune into the underbelly of dragon society. In this environment, he would learn the true value of his mother’s lessons, as the only way one prospered was to trade favors like actual currency.
Vaerune has spent over a century learning what he considers to be his new trade, simultaneously, and perhaps unfortunately distancing himself from his parents. He has traveled to many of the cities in the Nocturne-controlled territory, making friends among the merchant class as well as the “scum of society”. He has always been eager to learn, and has had several teachers in the arts of “dirty fighting”.
When the news broke of a new species called “Humans” arriving, Vaerune remained apart from the discussions. Although he doesn’t see how they could be a great threat, he has seen too many dragons fall in his world due to what they didn’t know. Nobody knew the humans.
