I actually was thinking they dissolved too, but I watched parts of them fighting during the First Test, and the Ursa and Nevermore didn't seem to dissolve once they were deadified. So, dunno if they do it sometimes to save on animation work or if it's a stylistic thingie. But what do you guys wanna do? I could see there being a reason about them not having souls related to their dissolution, and it could be part of why studying them is so difficult, or do you guys wanna be more realistic about it?

The nevermore isn't shown dissolving, but there's nothing saying it didn't take longer to dissolve fully because of its size once it hit the ground.

Or Monty is just being inconsistent again.

I think it's prolly Rule of Cool/inconsistency as well, so which way do you guys lean on this? Mehbeh they dissolve when the Grimm is completely dead, the speed at which it happens depends on it's size and power? That could make studying their physiology difficult while making getting trophies somewhat easier, though Ruby's beheadings in her trailer dissolved with the bodies too... Oy vey. XD

Maybe also include something about making efforts to preserve them? Like, if you kill it pretty cleanly and get to work preserving it as soon as it dies, they last longer?

Personally, I vote for the bodies staying. Until such a time as they are revealed to be energy projections of some eldritch being or some such, them dissolving strains my suspension of disbelief a little too far. =P

Plus, I usually look at it as an artistic liberty, rather than outright fact. We don't see them dissolve often, and we see their heads mounted, as mentioned above, so I usually explain it away as Monty and Co. not wanting to take the time to include mountains of corpses in a relatively short episode. And the trailer, after all, was a really early working draft, so it shouldn't be used to judge a lot anyway.

I don't count Asuras'/Asura's votes because they're having self-identity issues, at the moment.
