Lots of reasons to be annoyed:
1) Elections.

2) Politics.

3) The downward spiral of shit caused by the above two.

4) Not logging in for a week that quickly caused a downward spiral feedback loop of neurotic freakouts between "I should log in and apologize" and "ITS BEEN TOO LONG AAAAAA". It's been three months since (although there was an aborted attempt at coming back somewhat recently). This also happened with a game dev group I was in for six months after missing two meetings in spite of being there every week. It's been over a year since I last saw anyone there.

5) Lack of drive during said three months with anything at all ranging from video games to the job hunt.

6) Lack of luck with the job hunt.

7) The fact that my brother's having some problems and he's across the country and thus not easy to assist with.

8) The worry caused by 1 to 3 about nukes and the fact that my city is an obvious target and I live in a section that will most likely be wrecked by any nuke or at the least be affected by the blast radius of radiation. I wore my Fallout cosplay jacket to the elections as a bit of a joke/nonverbal expression of worry. I don't want to live through the events of the game.

9) It seems like every single tabletop RPG group I join eventually dies off in spite of how enthusiastic everyone is and how this one group keeps changing the system when we lose interest in the previous system. Not sure if its me or if its just a really annoying coincidence but then again I'm not running any of them so it probably is just a coincidence.

10) My 16+ year old cat might be getting too old and senile to remember to use the litterbox. But he might be doing it out of passive aggressive spite so I'm not sure what his deal is. Also he's "talking" more often to me so I'm worried that may be a sign of some other problem.

I can't seem to keep a coherent plot in any of my non-roleplay writing anymore. Plus I keep on writing three or so page long story beginnings at 2 AM that all have titles that sound like they're from a light novel, and I never finish them.

My driver's side window got stuck all the way down when I arrived at work. Couldn't get it fixed before I went into the office. When I came out, it was 17 degrees (Fahrenheit). I was envisioning some valley forge type shit. Ended up getting it working before I left, but shit was I sweating it throughout my whole shift.

Dude, totally dreading the morning commute. There isn't even an inch, but it's not the weather I worry about.

Pro: Schools delayed, so that means parents are delayed this morning, wrangling the spawn.
Con: Baltimore county drives like Homer Simpson while tweaking and tend to freak out like him on the road.

Probably not. Too many legitimate reasons to be concerned. Dude seems to be planning a war with Iran when he isn't gutting regulations that keep companies from poisoning precious fresh water or using ICE as basically the secret police. And he acts presidential before congress to fool people. Even though it's obvious, so painfully obvious that is an act.

Politics is distracting as fuck for me and I don't know how to limit its impact without going blind. I try just reading Associated Press or Reuters but always end up drifting to the more ideological media.

Limit your reading. If you aren't, like, active on the ground floor in anyway, involved with grassroots organization or whatever, then your constant attention doesn't really do anything. We're all peasants in this game. If it makes your feel better, Trump hasn't reached the finals for "Worst President" yet. We've had it way worse.

...and there isn't anything inherently wrong with reading ideological media. Centrism is an ideology in itself, you can't escape it. Just don't get addicted, or carried away, or stuck in some sort of black-and-white thinking where you think the other side is all evil idiots or some shit. I do think there is a difference between ideological media, which looks at news from a pre-set perspective, and fake news, which is tabloid bullshit. It gets confusing because most major news outlets dip into all three buckets.

What annoys the fuck out of me is when we start getting distracted by the stupid stuff. Like, "Oh no, the President is golfing." We hear that shit about every fucking President. It's pretty damned irrelevant. Or the thing about him staying at Mar-A-Lago. Like, that type of thing isn't weird either, but everyone freaks out. The Presidency isn't a station like a cash register. They can move around and still do President things.
