Let me ask then, what - assuming that I'm not going to post any time soon - would your next course of action be with your psyked up Orkoid?

Well, if I were to make such an assumption, I would begin the long and somewhat complicated process of having him amass his demonic army, and make it ready for the coming battle. Establish some sort of base of operations; have the tzeentch herald begin summoning his minions, while the khorne herald goes about murdering everything that moves within an established parameter to gather his. Urgrugg himself, in the meantime, would likely be making his staff glow like a lighthouse on christmas within the warp to help speed up the process.

@Necroes Do you not think that's just a little too much?

If not...well...guess I'll just need to bring in the Grey Knights earlier than I wanted to. :(

@Necroes@BCTheEntity@Wraithblade6

Feel free to get on with it then, I'll post something up soon.

@Jbcool Yeah, it may be just a few too many daemons. As for me, I'm doing a collab with Soph, so that'll be posted as and when it's done. And if you want to bring Spehss Mehreens in at some point, make them Dark Angels. There are two Fallen on the Hulk, after all.

I second the dark angles idea, of course, I believe my clueless fallen will walk right up to them. Hello Asmodai...

Not really. His army doesn't amount to more than about 300 or so daemons, total. As a unit they function with surprising synergy, but nothing absurd. Remember, we are talking about a force that was large enough to sway the battle in his tribe's favor on a feral world. It doesn't take a great many daemons to accomplish that task.Though, certainly going to be an unpleasant surprise for any lesser force that stumbles across them.

I'll have my post up later on today.

This is ridiculous. Being capable of this alone makes him one of the most powerful psykers the galaxy has ever seen in its entire history.

Not really. He's not the one summoning them. He summoned the two he has contracts with, and they do the heavy lifting. Summoning two daemons is well in line with what any given chaos sorcerer would be capable of. Besides, he needs time to do it, as well as an enemy worthy of the effort. At present, he has both.

No, you're wrong. It's absurd. I seriously question your capacity as a roleplayer if you think that kind of power level is acceptable -- or even fun.

@Hank I respectfully disagree.

'Fun' is a matter of opinion, and I quite enjoy the idea of being at the head of a large-scale battle between two of the 40k factions. Hell, it's one of my major hobbies. I do it all the time. The thought of doing it from the first-person perspective is something I very much look forward to.

As for any question of my capacity... well, I'll bite my tongue on that topic. However, I will say that I find it very small-minded of you to think that someone is 'bad' at roleplaying just because they enjoy playing powerful characters. Power is just another defining aspect of a character. Personally, I think having a character with access to large sums of power is more fun, because it gives me access to more opportunities to explore that character. Anyone can be weak and powerless, that's easy, and so is depicting it. Sure, having power is also easy to depict. What's not so easy is controlling that power, when it's finally challenged.

@Necroes I'm sorry to tell you this, but in a game with ten players, one player who's able to command hundreds is too powerful, especially when those hundreds are daemons with supernatural physiques and abilities. To wit, Lucius did bring with him large quantities of cultists that are technically "under his command", but notice how he's separated himself from them on purpose, and that they are about as weak as cultists tend to be save for their horde mentality. I'm thinking the next time we see them, they'll have been whittled down to the last few who are actually good at fending for themselves and have consequently earned gifts of Chaos, or worse have fallen under the spell of, say, that one Emperor's Children Marine Jb is touting as a major foe.

@Necroes I think i have to agree with Hank on this one, your character is massively powerful to the point of absurdity. i mean, Ga'duk is a powerful character due to his physical strength but he couldnt hold a candle to a few hundred demons. Your character would be on par with like chapter masters or maybe a Primarch, which totally changes the scale of the RP and, while fun for you makes it less fun for everyone else.

Thats my two cents

If our rp turns into a battle between grey knights and demons and everyone else is insignificant, that would not be cool.

Having summoned two demons is already o.o enough, but then having each of those summon more.... We've already got enough cannon fodder on this hulk.

@Sophrus Oh, I'm terribly sorry that my character's interaction with yours has made the game less fun for you. Oh, wait... our characters have never interacted, and mine has never done anything that has in any way affected yours. Huh, guess I don't need to apologize for that one.

@BCTheEntity And I'm sorry to tell you this, but you're under false assumptions. Urgrugg has hardly any control over them, at all. He considers himself 'in charge' because he's an ork, and orks think the one who's biggest and strongest is in charge. You've also made a mistake in believing that daemons are some kind of super-warriors. The daemons he's summoning will consist of pink horrors and bloodletters, both of which fall in line with veteran guardsmen in terms of combat proficiency.

And, to everyone, two things;
1.) This isn't something that just Happens. The ork isn't snapping his fingers and suddenly daemons are everywhere. He summoned two, and that's tapped him for a good while.
2.) Daemons summon daemons. It's how armies of daemons become a thing. You summon one or two daemons, which any random group of four or five chaos cultists is fully capable of doing, and boom... daemon army happens. The amount of power any given psyker has is completely irrelevant when it comes to summoning, because daemons being in the material realm leads to more daemons coming out of the warp in that area.

Just because everyone wants to play Batman doesn't mean everyone has to jump on the guy who wants to play Aquaman for being 'too OP.'

@NecroesSo as probably the weakest combat-based character here(The Tau is squishier, but he's a scientist), I have to say that you are way too powerful. I'm playing a GUARDSMAN. How in the nine hells am I supposed to be relevant in combat when one of the other members of the future party can summon an army of Daemons, even the weakest of which could completely outclass me in any aspect of combat. I'm accepting of the Space Marines as characters, because they're individual characters, and in the case of Lucius, the very Very VERY best of his cultists would about be on par with me, most of them likely not even knowing how to do more than point a weapon and pull the trigger. How anyone could expect me to consider an RP where my character serves no purpose because the guy next to him just created an army of 300+ people leagues better than him at combat fun, is beyond me.

ok... that was not even what i was trying to get at, your character makes basically EVERYONE else irrelevant. you changed the scale of the RP which makes it no longer fun for anyone. it doesnt matter that our characters have not interacted.

@DepressedSoviet How is Black Widow relevant standing on the same field of battle as Thor, Iron Man, and Hulk?

More accurately, how did you expect someone who amounts to a guardsman to be relevant in a game where there exists people who can fire demolisher cannon shells from their mind?

I didn't tell you to play a guardsman. I'm not responsible for your fun. Most importantly, I've yet to actually do anything that in any way impacts your character in any way.

Also, you may want to take note of the fact our GM has already pointed out that your character is a blatant red shirt.

Edit: @Sophrus The great thing about scale is that it can Be changed.
More importantly, why is it everyone is waiting until Now to speak up about the scale of the game? When I had a cruiser-class imperial ship come into the system carrying an inquisitor and a preceptory of Sisters, no one said a thing. Is it just that no one here understands the implications that presents?

For starters, Hulk, Thor, and Iron Man don't SUMMON 300 MORE HULKS, THORS, OR IRON MEN

EDIT: To continue the analogy, Black Widow is able to do stuff because Hulk, Thor, and Iron Man can't be everywhere at once, so she actually has things she is capable of doing. If the Avengers consisted of 100 Tony Starks, 100 Hulks, 100 Thors, and Black Widow, THEN she'd be completely irrelevent.

@Necroes@DepressedSoviet And besides, I'd say Joran is more of a Mauve Shirt. Y'know, he's got character, he's got backstory, he's not just some mook to kill off (though he could still be killed off easily of course). As for scale, the great thing about a Preceptory of Sisters is that they can be taken apart piecemeal if they don't all stick together when wandering the Hulk, which since it's flooded with Genestealers and Eldar and other evil beasties could happen quite handily if it's appropriate.
