HISTORY OF CHARACTER: Jin Shou is of the Qiang people of northwestern China, renowned as warriors. As horsemen, they are considered unequaled. Jin Shou was orphaned and raised by Taoist monks, becoming among their number. During the rebellion of the Qiang people in 184, Jin Shou was still serving as a monk, but when the Han army attacked and burned the monastery, Shou joined the rebels. Joining the leader, Han Sui, in his efforts to reduce the control of the Han, Shou served as a capable general, with an eye for tactics and an even better eye for single combat. Despite their defeat, the rebels proved able enough to survive to pester the Han for years to come. In order to appease them, the Han granted the chief rebels military titles, raising Ma Teng and Han Sui into joint leadership of the Qiang provinces. Due to his support, Han Sui granted Jin Shou a generalship.
Shou, despite his new-found lofty status, felt that the rebellious leaders had become decadent and corrupted by their new positions, he also wished to avenge his fellow monks. Despite his objections, Shou continued serving with the new lords out of a sense of duty to them. When the Yellow Turbans revolted, Shou found himself again drawn into battle, but against the Han's enemies. Leading the cavalry on a charge, Shou's unit was able to slay Yellow Turban general Bo Cai. This action brought him to the attention of many of the realm's leading warlords. Shou, conflicted between his loyalty to the former rebels and his quest for vengeance, has arrived at Hu Lao Gate, reserved, and more conflicted than ever.
PERSONALITY: Jin Shou is serene and calm even in the worst of melees, this does not mean that he is quiet, he is quick to spread the news of his religion, he is quick to proclaim himself a "Warrior of The Way", and take tallies of his kills. Off the battlefield, he is driven and focused, often not hearing what others are saying and instead focusing on what his most recent target is. Despite his devotion to Taoism, Shou has declared himself no longer a monk, and acts like a normal general. He sees Ma Teng's son Ma Chao as a nuisance, but can't help but feel a connection to the young man, acting as an honorary uncle to the young man.

On the back of his jacket is a Taijitu with the phrases "The Way is peace", "All is Yin", "All is Yang", and "All is Absolute" sprouting counter-clockwise around it.
