I hate to ask someone to assume the role of Gecko but can one of you kindly give me the jist of what's happened so far?

Well this is a story all about how an elven princess flipped our lives upside down! And if you'd like to take a minute just to sit right there (no, there) then I'll tell you all about how we became saviours of a town called Riverhope.

In an inn called The Hearth and Flagon our banners were raised and on the road we've spent most of our days, teleported to a grove and walking upside a swamp when a bog monster who was up to no good! Started causing trouble in our neighbourhood! We got in one little fight and a lizardman joined us and said "We're toates gonna go kill some dark elves."

Uuuuuuuhhhhh, I woke up seven minutes ago it's too early for mediocre improv like this

Let's start from the beginning. We got hired by an Elven princess because bad news was happening across the realm, essentially vampires and the likes were starting trouble and world-ending rituals because that's what they do. So we started off in hopes of finding some lizardmen who would be good guides and meeting up with the princesses half sister for more info. Luckily in a swamp we encountered Argon who was fighting a bog monster and beat the snot out of it (the bog monster not Argon)

After that we rolled on over to pretty much where we are now, meeting a captured Andred knight who sorta released a dragon or something along those lines and we are all debating whether to hunt the thing, talk with the thing or ignore it entirely because it ain't our business (the dragon, not the knight Jezebeth). I don't think I really missed anything?

Updated the stuff. Basically making Marguerite a 'jack of all spells, master of none' when it comes to magic, and cleared up what Excellent prismatic spray can and can't do. (Ruin someones day: Yes. Ruin planet's day: No.)

Haha! Finally something An-Hasst is really supreme at! He does more (height, muscle) with less (weight)!

His muscle strands must consist of some wicked sci-fi carbon nanotube material and for bones it seems he has found the concept of structural integrity forcefields instead of solid matter. Or he's a holographic demon in disguise who has already eaten 7,000 souls. We all know a soul is about 22 grams.

It's valentines day, if someone's on this site chances are they are ill and depressed today (drinks more)

Over here in Germany I haven't even recognized today's some special day. For me it was just another on-my-slow-way-to-being-ill, highly frustrating and overlong workday and I haven't even been on here for the last two days. Most of my RP partners appear to have left me or are otherwise gone anyway.

Yah, I threw in a few noncombat spells that Marguiete would find useful for memorizing and studying magic and magical things.

I also added a spell that creates a goo that draws insects to it. It's not a really dangerous spell, but it's fun to play with the possibilities. I also added a generic 'gust of wind' spell, just trying to balance out the nonsensical stuff.

I'll start working out an introductory post!

The whole IC conversation is pretty much real life summed up:

People all making valid points that don't actually disagree with anybody else's points and yet for some reason thinking that their point makes everybody else's invalid, and repeating that point without addressing anybody else's points and so basically talking to a brick wall and hoping for consensus

Half the party = The dragon is probably related to the threat and could well attack us while we're dealing with said threat, in which we wouldn't be prepared and we'd die

Other half of the party = The dragon isn't time sensitive, why deal with it now?

Other half of the party = Why are we discussing this dragon? It isn't our quest, we can deal with the dragon afterwards

Half of the party = The dragon is probably going to attack us on the way, we'd rather get the jump on it first or have a back-up plan

Other half of the party = We have more important things to deal with than the dragon, like the threat, we'll deal with the dragon later

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Admittedly I have boiled down the argument somewhat, but this is crazy

I'm 'boutta have this cavalier done, have him ride in and say "Fuck you all we're talking to the dragon.

OR I make a Drabarian character here instead of Mercenaries so he'd definitely have a THIRD opinion to offer since he has some draconic heritage himself...

@The Fated Fallen I think you've got An-Hasst's point a bit wrong. His opinion is that there is no proof for the dragon to be a vital objective for their mission so they should not spend a lot of time on it. And actually he tries to escape from the vicious circle you described by the power of mathematics: A vote.

@Mega BirbAbout every motif is used in some form, honestly, so you can make what you want. Though if I am being honest, a Cavalier or Rogue is probably the least taken among the group. But Drabarian works, if you want.

@FetzenA Drabarian would have some knowledge of Dragons in general, but no more than someone well read (other than small exceptionsl, and he wouldn't know this particular Dragon.

Can't help but to say this, but every word in that character type has been used.

Half-elf? Calanon, though granted, he isn't exactly half. Then there's An-Hasst.

Arcane? Well darn, just look at the roster. It's as if non-magical characters are the exceptions.

Rogue? We got one.

Though of course, I think it's just due to the general terms being used. There're all kinds of arcane characters and all kinds of rogues. Did some research into character classes, and lookie here, you do have plenty of choices:

The only thing that sets my arcane character apart is that I'm the dirty hobo arcane who knows far too many bullshit spells and can't throw a fireball.
