Let me check off the list for you: I tried to be indirect, used euphemism and metaphor, avoided vulgarity, did not call for him to quit or go back to his momma or whatever without provokation. I even made it out to be a joke, put a smiley right there though to be fair it's not an image.

Look, what Fetzen said is not unfounded, however, all I ask is that we be cordial and when that isn't what is needed, to have a bit of tact. That is not a difficult thing. Heck, I won't even ask that. I'd just ask that we all at least try.

In summary, I would hate for you to go, but I will not stop you or guilt you into staying if that is what you believe is the best course of action. I enjoyed your posts thus far.

If you do decide to stay, we will not discuss it further and act like it never happened.

Anyway, yeah, I'm done. I've burnt the bridge with my horribly honest post to Fetzen the radical feminist, as you can see.

The point is that you need good chemistry, not just the usual language skills or creativity. You don't co-author with people you can't write with. Same that you don't roleplay with people who's not going to drink the same kool-aid, get what I mean?

For what it's worth, I would have done what you asked, but I'm afraid the chemistry just never happened and it got in the way. I knew that right from the start that it's eventually going to go down like this, the way Fetzen acted and how little discussion there were, how typical you guys are as roleplayers. I just thought it'd all go away after a month or two. I was willing to adapt to most of it and for a time, most of it didn't bother me. But too bad.

Well, at least my writing is completely sacred once more. No more putting out words 'just for fun'. Jezebeth's going to get her own story in one form or another, heh. Thanks for the practice!

We were done until you decided to restart this again. You know, when you had your outburst I wanted to do the same to you but Poohead wanted to deal with you himself. I'd even put out a post in my usual straightforward fashion but on the behest of Poohead took it down.

Anyway, I knew that coming back to this forum is a mistake right from the beginning. This is not my crowd, I keep forgetting or hoping that things will be different. Where I normally haunt, what I did that started this was business as usual. At the end of it, I grew from the criticism and honest opinions given to me, some of which were rather crude considering that they came from fellow writers but their views were invaluable.

I'll make this easy for you guys. I'll undo my mistake. You guys just keep doing what you love and pretend Jezebeth never happened. Keep shining.

I'll admit that there's always a better way. Ideally, I would have wanted him to realise that he had been limiting himself big time and then join us. Win-win situation. We get a RPer whose creativity becomes limitless and he eliminates a huge obstacle in his writing.

Isn't PMing about him the ultimate way of talking behind his back? That's my belief. If I put it here, it's right in front of him if he wishes to see it. That idea kinda opens a whole can of worms though. It means that everyone's been talking behind everyone's back which actually isn't such a crazy idea in today's topsy-turvy society.

It would be more accurate to say that PMing is more for keeping the streets clean, but does nothing for morality. I once knew a GM's sister who PMs me bad things about the GM. It's not pretty, but it's even more insidious. At the end, no one likes her because it shows in other ways. Probably because someone else PMed bad things about her? Anyway, you should see the pattern.

But if you want to keep your streets clean, I'll respect that.

I enjoy you as an RPer Darkraven, but atm I must tell you to cease and desist.

I want just as much to move on but I like all the peripheral issues to be solved first. This time around, I'll be happy to settle it with 'to each his own' because everyone's going to think they're right. As a lit major, reader and writer, I gotta know that. No one's entirely wrong either, which in this case is obvious.

I will acknowledge that you were trying to make TFF feel better, and I agree she isn't to blame. But still, do it in a PM if you feel the need to shit talk someone to do it.

You're taking too much credit for yourself. It's obvious that I'd singlehandedly scared him off.

Way I see it though, we didn't lose much. That guy views frickin' human beings as boring despite it being shown countless times that humans work. As a result, he'd be very limited not just in character creation. And when I brought it up he throws a hissy fit and stomps off? Not a trait I'd want in a fellow role player.

Sure, I wasn't being very flattering, but c'mon, I have no idea how else to say it - I'd even tried previously to show the amazing things you can do with normal people. In any case, he needed a wake up call. The truth stings, even when it's given out with the best of intentions.

If you think I'm harsh, others would have thrown him right out and showered him with salty vitriol and vulgarity. I was being kind when I went with the metaphorical euphemism.

But that's never enough isn't it? People just want to hear what they want to hear. That everything is fine and dandy and they're perfect.

In any case, I got my suitcase and hat at the ready in case I got kicked out for this. Won't be the first time. I'm a Raven for a reason. Caw!

That's what I always used to say, I don't know why I've really shifted away from that mindset but there we are. I guess I found having to be a different race was more restricting, everybody expects a dwarf to be booze in one hand and axe in the other. Elves are always seen as roguish and off with the faeries and if you play anything other than those stereotypes with other less-fantasy-fluent people they tend to lose interest in your characters.

That indeed is a problem I'm often struggling with at character creation. However I often try to counteract this by going on and making the character I would like to play, even if it contradicts common expectations.

However... I'm probably not a good example for what to do best. I like playing beings who are.... semi-friendly undead, gargoyles, barbarians, rogues who give a damn about speed and agility (Assassin's Creed cliché *waves*) and rather work with elaborate traps and devices. Or in other words: It could have been far worse than with An-Hasst's sometimes a little loose mouth.
