Looking good, everybody! Come weekend, I'll be updating my nation and adding my faction. How are you doingwith your nations and factions?

@Titanic: You're gonna have to remove the westernmost island from your nation, since I already claimed it :)

@Leotamer: Just noticed that your military description says your warriors use heavy armor. What kind of heavy armor did you have in mind?

I imaged it as leather armor but heavily reinforced with bronze, or really crude bronze armor where the chest piece is just a slab on both sides of the body and has like a helm, gantlets, and probably some leather boots.

Plate mail is beyond the capabilities of category 1 smiths. They can craft crude swords and tools, and maybe simple shields or splint mail from metal, but that's about it. You should probably think more light to medium rather than heavy in terms of armor. A heavy armored warrior in your nation could be one that carries a big bronze reinforced shield, skullcap, studded leather harness and maybe splint mail as shinguards/armguards. How does that sound?

Well, it would probably be better for my nation to get rid of it all together, because really, my nations military relies on flight considering I am pretty sure I have both the lowest tech level and lowest population (And the my grand arch-mage that I am going to get from category one is going to more of an ambassador) and trying to wear heavy armor on a pegasus/hippogriff probably won't even let the pegasus get off the ground, and a griffin probably just be a big target. My whole logic of having more heavily armored ground troops is to diversify my army so it isn't just scouts/archers on pegasuses(still wondering if it is pegasi) and spearman on griffins.

And my logic for having platemail instead of another armor while being rank 1 is that I am rank 1 because basically all scientific progress started with the agricultural revolution, and they are mountainous people. However, being on a mountain, they will probably be pretty good at what they do make, sense there is normally quite a bit of minerals in the mountains. Also, I looked up splint armor and that actually looks more complicated, though I am not armor-smith.

Though, it doesn't really matter, if it is a major issue, I will just remove heavy armor from my military all together.

I think it's for the best if you remove it. If you want diversity, give a few chosen champions bigg-ass two handed bronze sabers and make them the shock troopers of your army!

Depending on how loose you are with the geographic location of animals, the replacement for the heavy armor characters could be elephant riders (or possibly a similar but mythological creature but none are coming to mind) I kind you not, I google'ed "Do elephants live on mountains" and the answer I got was "They would fall" though a quick look at Wikipedia said nothing about them living on mountains so I presume they don't, but.. elephant riders. The elephants don't even nessicarily need to be local, they could be brought over by trade or hunters. Really, they still will be spearman and bowmen, but as trade of for being grounded, I presume elephants aren't the easiest things in the world to kill. (if you don't have an elephant gun)

You can have mountainous elephants if you please. How about making them mammoths?

Might I recommend magical stone plate. Sheets of slate and marble are suspended in the air around the soldier with magical talismans affixed to chest, forearm, and thighs. If you are going to be in the mountains, may as well make use of the materials at hand.

Edit: Might I further suggest that, as your shock-troopers, these monastic warriors use the stone sheets offensively as well as defensively? Though only dozens strong, their unique martial arts/mysticism is well-evolved.

Tertiary, the main problem is that, I have really good defensives. I would rather have something that I could do some damage with to support my flying troops and people who use stone armor probably would be really slow and go against my biggest advantage of having tons of mobility (I am not saying elephants are particularly fast, but they would do better in rough terrain anyways)

I have also toyed around with the idea of having Minotaurs being a part of my nations races, though I am not quite sure I am just kind throwing the idea back and forth.

Rocks are offensive!

But, really, I meant something more like this. I mean, Toph is really the only good reason to watch Avatar anyways.

Minotaurs could man your heavy cavalry. Baby mammoths are calves, right? So, they're practically the same thing.
