The delay is from only three people talking to me. <.< I can't be helpful and productive if people don't come to me. >.>
EDIT: ANOTHER GROUP QUESTION So because of random rolls, JBRam2002's character, Draj, made friends with another character in his childhood. I dunno why I didn't ask this when I first rolled it and it got "accepted" as canon, but anyone wanna be his friend? They don't have to be from the southern continent (see the homebrewery thing) or anything.
Thank you for updating the main piece to include the new characters, @Ermine! You certainly did not disappoint in making it a good read. I am curious what @Monster, @Mesonyx and @CaughtInTheRiddle have in mind for their submissions, especially with the option of now knowing @JBRam2002's Draj from the start.
@Erminelol... I thought you already had someone in mind when you offered that. If you don't have any takers, I have an option that I can use in its place, but I like the idea of having a friend in the party. If anyone wants to ask me more info, my PMs are always open!
I got answers from @JBRam2002, @The Harbinger of Ferocity, and @Ms Ravenwinter for these already, so this is directed to @Monster, @Mesonyx, and @CaughtInTheRiddle. These are questions to help flesh out both your characters and the world. You don't have to answer all of these, but PM the ones you want to answer (and the answers, obviously, preferably when you send the link to your sheet) to me. And any questions you have. Including about the system. I wanna help!
These questions are all directed toward your character to see their opinions and worldview - and what in the world they have seen! The more you say, the more I have to work with, but if you don't have much to say, that's okay, too. These are just to get you thinking about it, not to make you uncomfortable in any way.
1) Why do you adventure? If you weren't an adventurer, what would you do? Is this your first adventure? What do you think of the non-adventuring life of most people? 2) Do you have any nicknames? Did you have any while growing up? Why were you given these nicknames? 3) What inspires your choice of clothing? 4) Where were you born? Where did you grow up? Where do you live now? (keep in mind, you're making up places for this) 5) Who were your parents - do you even know? Are they still alive? If not, what became of them? If so, do you get along with them? Are you yourself a parent? Have you ever been? Are you married? 6) What training do you have? Were you an apprentice? A student? Self-taught? When and how did you first learn you could do what you do? 7) What other jobs have you had? 8) What are the important moments of your life? (As in like the "where were you when JFK was shot/the towers fell/whatever other major events there have been" type of moments, both good and bad) 9) Do you have any likes? Dislikes? Hobbies? Goals? Especially goals. Have they changed over the years? 10) Who/what is your most valued person? Possession? Concept? Have they changed over the years? 11) Why are you that alignment? 12) Is there a line you won't cross, no matter what? Things like "I'll kill people, but only if they deserve it" or "I'll never kill a child, even if they're responsible for the deaths of hundreds, or possessed by a demon." 13) What is your greatest fear? What would make you happiest? 14) What is your stance on the new technologies of clockwork and firearms?
If you want your character to be world famous, with all their history well-known, I guess you can share the answers publicly, but I don't expect that. PMing lets it be a surprise to the group, and trust me, the answers I've gotten so far are AMAZING, and will be so much fun. Even when they didn't have much in them, and didn't answer all the questions, the answers added SO MUCH to the story. Seriously, you can answer one question with one sentence and still help out a lot. The more you have, the more I have to work with to make this more fun for you and get a feel for what you want in the game.
Also, want to confirm a few things. If you strongly object (as in, if these confirmations would mean you would leave the game), I am flexible with changing them.
> We start at 3rd level. > To reflect us being 3rd level (but mainly 'cause I feel like it), we get the starting gear from our class and background and the starting gold from our class listed at the beginning of the equipment section. > This last part was directed toward everyone, hence why I linked the three who already answered the questions. > Here's another arrow. Because why not? > I have more group questions, but those will wait until I have all the characters. These questions deal with the past, while the group questions will deal with the recent past through the present. > Answers to the character questions are going to come up in the story at some point as subplots, or just added texture to a main plot (like if we end up in Ainford for Evyrless, or meet a huntress with a certain link to Lorenthar).
I want this RP to be as facemeltingly awesome as I can make it for you all, so let me be the fun DM your parents warned you about. Except cuter. And not nearly as stinky. And not covered in Cheetoh dust and Mountain Dew stained clothing.
EDIT: OH MY! The homebrewery thing seems to have expanded quite a large amount! And there are some extra rules for you guys to vote on! Neato! (I can't believe I just said "Neato!" like that's a thing a people would say).
@ErmineI have seen some cute Dew-chugging Dorito-chomping gremlins in my time, so you have a lot to contend with. :P
I agree with the arrows in your post. I'll check out the Homebrewery stuff next. Speaking of, do you want to start adding CS's to the Characters Thread?
*peaks in head.* Hmm, I am a super new player to D&D. Just decided to appear here. Because why not? Learning something about different things is better than being only a roleplayer for other areas. lol
Also Harbinger was the one who gave the link to this on Chat.
I could always wait for another Beginner D&D RP, I guess?
Was pointed this direction by Harbinger. I do see the full tag but if you happen to want a good ole Battle Master front-line, gunslinging folk hero from a drunken mountain town. I am soooooo fucking down. Eh? EH? XD
Personally, I'm fine with any number of players and newbies. However, the more players in the group, the harder everything gets for the DM, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she has a limit. If she says we're full, this just shows that there is a lot of interest in a beginner's game. Maybe another interest check might be a good idea (I would wait to hear from the DM first tho)
@JBRam2002, I mentioned it to them both because to my knowledge, two players are unaccounted for even yet. Unfortunate as that is, I would like us to begin as soon as we can, so I thought it fair to redirect them here for @Ermine to decide, given she knows the situation better than I.
Actually don't know the situation with the two who haven't said anything. >.> I've been wondering about that myself.
If they come back, they're welcome to play. These two can go ahead and join in, too. ^~^ I can handle 6-8...just don't expect me to remember who everyone is playing and all their abilities without looking it up. ^//^ (Which, to be fair, will be easier on a forum than in a live game). More people = more subplots or potential main plots or simultaneous subplots. O_O ^~^
@Ermine OKAY! YES! Then I do have a quick question... If I am rolling a fighter, varient Human so I have a feat right away. Planning on grabbing the Gunsliger feat so I can shoot everything. In my starting equipment I can get 2 martial weapons, do guns count for that? I would like to start off with 2 pistolas.
@Landaus Five-One If you need any help, just ask. DnD can be complicated, and it has a really big book of rules. I'm more than happy to answer any PMs you send me. Same for @Big Dread, but I get the feeling you already know what you were doing.
