You could say that it was Anabel's first time to Alola, if you did not count that she literally fell from an ultra dimensional wormhole and ended up on one of Alola's islands ten years ago. Not that she was actually aware of the fact, or at least her subordinate Looker assumed that she did not know, if only he would give his superior more credit. Despite being in her early twenties and definitely not as many Interpol missions as Looker, she was indeed bright and able to work her way out of troubling situations, not to mention that those years of training were not just for nothing either.

Anabel was fixing her tie in the mirror of the motel bathroom where she and Looker were stationed, while it was not a five star resort... The bathroom seemed to be cleaned regularly, thankfully for her sanity. After tying her hair up in a ponytail and slipping on her black gloves, she exited the bathroom, looking prim and orderly as usual.

"Mr. Looker." She addressed her subordinate with a curt nod. "Everything well?"

Looker quickly saluted her, "Yes ma'am! Just waiting for one of the witnesses to come share their findings with us."

Anabel hummed, "Her name is Mina... Correct?" She asked, thinking back to the case file. "An artist and trial captain in Alola... Apparently she was painting a landscape when she accidentally managed to record two UBs." She had to admit, that was a feat in its own right considering there were really no known records of these extra-dimensional beings.

Looker nodded, "Indeed. Hopefully we can learn a few more details about their habits."

Anabel frowned slightly, while they were living things and she did sympathize with these creatures, she couldn't shake the rooted fear of them due to her training as an International Police Officer. Ultra Beasts were dangerous and highly aggressive, one wrong move could end up being her last.

Anabel gasped slightly as she was broken from her thoughts as the door creaked open. "I suppose you must be Mina, correct?"

Mina arrived at the motel room's doorstep nearly half an hour past noon. She had been the one to set their meeting time - as per Ilima's instruction - as she knew how easily distracted she could be, especially in the early morning when the Comfey looked their best in the flattering dawn lighting. To add to that, whenever she sat down to do her work, it would take her hours before she could actually remind herself that she had somewhere to be. This was usually accompanied by a growling stomach stating its need for sustenance; as such, a meeting during lunch time.

She didn't bother knocking, and instead turned the knob as easily as if she was walking into her own room. The loose shirt she'd chosen for the day - a white tee she'd bought from a couple of rather amusing Team Skull grunts which had the word 'pain' written in their signature graffiti script, to which she added a letter t at the end in pink ink - fluttered in the light breeze that wafted from outside and into the rather spacious motel room.

She eyed the two occupants, but settled her gaze on the suited woman who had greeted her in a rather formal fashion. Mina raised a hand up in a half-hearted wave. "Hallo." She tilted her head and examined the woman - Anasomething, if she remembered correctly. Oh! Her eyes widened and she held her hands out in front of her, capturing the woman in a frame. "That's a great composition! You'll have to model for me after this."

She offered a small smile that quickly died back to her usual bored expression. Right. She could already hear Ilima's voice in her head, remind her to get back to business... and to actually create a trial. She'd deal with the latter at a later date, but she had exactly what the International Police wanted. "Got ya covered." With that, she presented the canvas she'd been carrying. On it, one could clearly see the scenery of the cityscape - bustling with energy, but relatively calm and quiet - transition, from the left side of the canvas to the right, into something darker. The image of an Ultra Wormhole swirled above the buildings, people watched from the ground -the awe and fear in their eyes so clearly evident even in the small rectangular space - and two beasts that Mina had never seen before held the center of attention. Mina hadn't even realised what she'd put onto the canvas until after it was done, surprised at the chaos surrounding her and the additions to her picture.

Anabel blinked in surprise as Mina captured her in a "frame" as if she were being photographed, or better said, painted. Her cheeks slowly turned a little pink when Mina said that she should model for her, her of all people? It was not like she had experience or anything! She coughed slightly as her cheeks dimmed, noticing that Mina had smiled slightly at her before reaching for a canvas and pulling it out to show her and Looker.

"Hmmmm! If I'm not mistaken... These are UB-02 Beauty and UB-03 Lighting!" Looker commented, and he was right... There were no mistaking the two different looking creatures.

"I wonder... What city did you compose this?" Anabel asked, tilting her head slightly. "If we're lucky... They still might be close by."

"Excellent point!" Looker agreed. "Then we will be able to capture them as planned."

Anabel held up a Pokeball that Mina had never seen before, "This is a Beast Ball that was mass produced by the Aether Foundation." She explained. "It has been studied that regular Pokeballs do not work on capturing Ultra Beasts... However, former president Lusamine has created technology to do so. Mina... I know we're asking a lot here... But, could you come with me and help capture the Ultra Beasts? We need two strong trainers to do so."

Mina was sure there was a question directed at her somewhere, but her eyes had fallen on the view outside the motel room and she couldn't keep her mind from wandering. The room faced the sight of one of the island's three trial locations. In the harsh light of the midmorning sun, the many pools of the Brooklet Hills shone like prisms, rainbows arcing from the waters. It was perfect, and Mina itched to put it on a canvas.

There was lull in the motel room and Mina blinked. Anabel was holding out a strange Pokeball, blue with a certain aura that Mina couldn't place. Looker, off to the side, was watching her with an expectant look. Ah! There was a question, and, by the look on Anabel's face, an explanation as to what that Pokeball was. She'd have to bite the bullet on that one later, but for now, she could just pretend she was listening.

"I guess you want to know where these crazy guys are," she began. When Looker nodded, she barely bit back a sigh of relief. She'd been right with that one. "I sketched this in Heahea City." It was one of the hundred or so sketches she'd done that day while wandering around the city. Originally, she was meant to visit the other trial sites to try and find inspiration for her own trial, but when she stepped off the boat, she knew she just had to dedicate a day - or two, or six - to capturing the city and its people. Her eyes wandered back outside. The area around the motel held so much potential. She could-

Right, right. She had people to talk to, and wasn't there more to do? They were still looking at her expectantly, like the way Ilima and the other Trial Captains did. Oh no. "You want me to come with you and try to catch them?" She should have expected it when the International Police contacted her, and she supposed she had. There was something about these creatures that called to her -called for her to capture them not just in Pokeballs but in something more immaculate. She shrugged, and the edge of her lips quirked up in a small smile. "Yeah, sure. Let's go. I'm not sure if they're still in the city, but it's a good start."

She opened the door - the sight outside called for her, but she kept her resolve; she'd paint later - and glanced back at the two. "Is he coming with?"

Anabel sighed, a little shakily as she followed behind Mina, she blinked when Mina asked if Looker was coming with them.

"Ah, no. Mr. Looker will be staying here to keep a watch over things." She explained to Mina with a tiny smile, not going into the reasoning behind the fact Looker couldn't come with them.

"Please... Look after Miss Anabel." Looker told Mina, with a hint of dire seriousness in his voice.

Anabel put her hands on her hips, "Mr. Looker, please!" She said, sounding quite annoyed. "This isn't my first mission we are taking about here..."

"Yes, but..." Looker hesitated, looking slightly pained. "You're right. Forgive me. I spoke out of place."

Anabel frowned and gave him a nod before she left the motel room, by her body language, she still seemed a bit miffed that Looker had shown so much concern for her. He was a nice man, but sometimes he still made her feel like a ten year old girl. She shook her head, trying to ignore the upcoming migraine that she felt at the base of her skull, making her wonder slightly if it was just nerves or if there was an Ultra Beast lurking about.

"Please... Look after Miss Anabel."

Mina gave an abrupt turn, her hand raising in a salute, before eventually letting out a laugh. Looker's look of concern and Anabel's irritation at her partner's actions, adding to the seriousness of their situation just seemed ridiculous to Mina. Honestly, why did she have to go and involve herself in something so troublesome when she could have just stayed put and paint, and pretend to think about what her trial would be. Perhaps she'd make them paint flowers, but then that would be too subjective. Something that resembled Pokemon Contests from other regions, maybe?

She blinked out of her thoughts when she saw the face of her... well, her partner now. They were partners, going to hunt some crazy creature from another dimension. It actually sounded quite cool, although Anabel didn't seem to share the same amount of enthusiasm.

"So, Heahea is on the other side of the island. We could fly, if you have Pokemon up for it, or we could take the bus." She didn't dare suggest walking, because she knew if she passed by a place that inspired her, the beast would be long gone once she was done. Plus, it was far.

While she gave her companion time to contemplate, Mina took an opportunity to try and get some answers. Questions swirled around her head: Where did those creatures come from? What are we going to do when we find them? How dangerous are they for the people and Pokemon of Alola? Were there more of them in other regions?

"What's your favourite colour?"

Anabel blinked as she stopped musing over her thoughts to hear what Mina had to say, taking the bus? No thanks... It was not really mood setting for one and the fact that she had to be incognito being an international police officer and all, she did not want to cause a wide spread panic throughout Alola. Last thing that she wanted in fact, considering she was trying to keep the peace.

"We can take my Salamence." She said simply, reaching for an Ultra Ball. She pressed the button on it and with a flash of light released her dragon-type Pokemon. She couldn't really say why she had a liking towards this particular species... It just felt right for her to have one. She started stroking over the dragon's scales with a slight smile, pausing when Mina asked her another question. This question threw her for a loop though, especially considering that she wasn't expecting Mina to ask such an arbitrary question like this.

"Ah..." She said softly, frowning slightly in thought as she tried to think on it. The least she could do was answer it after all, it was the polite thing to do.

"I suppose Lilac." She finally answered, looking over at Mina. "May I ask why you would like to know?"

Mina couldn't help her low whistle at the sight of the Salamence. Dragon-type Pokemon were pretty powerful, but she found that she never had trouble with them. After all, she was a Fairy-type specialist.

Her eyes narrowed towards the two when Anabel approached her Pokemon. Two powerful beings in calm companionship; it was quite the sight. Mina itched to sketch them, and whipped out her sketchbook to do just that. She took a few moments to draw the image in front of her before nodding towards Anabel. She pointed the end of her pencil towards the officer's hair and said, "I can see that." Amusement danced in her eyes as she finished her sketch. "Colour is everywhere and means a lot of things. Red can be passion and love, but can also depict blood and rage. Black is professional and classy, but it's also dark and intimidating." She nodded at the image in her sketchpad and made a mental note to finish it at a later date. The book was strapped to her back before she continued her line of thought. "Colour says a lot about a person. Lilac is graceful and elegant, mature and refined. The flower named after it also symbolises first love.

"I think I know more about you now, Miss Anabel," Mina nodded to herself before she looked over at the Salamence. "So? Let's go for a ride. I've never seen Alola from the sky."

Anabel listened intently as Mina explained the different definitions that color had, blushing slightly as she explained the meaning of Lilac. The symbol of first love? That sounded a bit cheesy, of course... The language of flowers definitely had a way of being completely corny. It was simply the nature of the beast, she brushed her bangs back slightly as she thought about the symbolism of the color Lilac, in a way... It seemed to fit her personality as scary as that seemed.

Anabel blinked in surprise when Mina openly stated that she knew more about her now, it seemed a bit quick to say that. They had only just met after all and it wasn't like they didn't have secrets to hide from each other. Arceus knew that she definitely had secrets to hide from others down in the deepest chamber of her heart.

"Yes." She said with a small smile, helping Mina mount the dragon type before seating herself behind the other girl, wrapping her arms around Mina as she held tight onto the Salamence, whistling a command before he took up in the sky.

When they arrived at Melemele City, everything seemed to be in order... However, Anabel wasn't going to just blow it off that nothing could possibly be wrong. She clutched her head, suddenly experiencing a dizzy spell.

The feeling of being high up in the sky and the wonderful sight of Alola was almost enough to make Mina ignore the arms wrapped around her. Almost. Mina had never been one to deny things about herself, and she wasn't about to start now. Miss Anabel was attractive and Mina had always appreciated the feminine physique. Her lips pursed of their own accord as she thought about it, but she wasn't given enough time. They landed at Heahea City far too soon.

Mina hopped off quickly and surveyed the surrounding area. A few locals smiled and waved at her, and she gave her own lazy greeting back. "It seems qui-" Her attention quickly fell on Anabel, who seemed a bit off. She was by her side, a stabling hand held out should the officer need it. "Are you okay? Do you need to rest for a bit?"

She didn't know if they could rest. The city may be quiet and peaceful now, but there was still the threat of the Ultra Beasts. They could return at any moment, and she wasn't sure if she could fight them on her own.
