@Sophrus I love maths. Not actually, I feel lile I am not cut oit for it, but on occasions I go to big lenghts with it. However, the relation of ONE FRUCKING BILLION and a leisurely 31100 is, well, humongous. Its a mid range stadium, to one seventh of earths population.
If you want to go with rule of cool, then I can quickly upscale some things on my side (me biggest and meanest ship intended to be 870 meters).

Oh, ok. well i could down scale a bit to like (making up numbers without doing math)... 2km by 0.8ish km and still be viable with no change in actual stats. While it would still dwarf your biggest ships, if caught without drones or support it would have 0 chance against your capitals because it was absolutely not designed to slug it out with a capital ship. Thats what the battle ships are for (which would be like 300-400 meters)
@6slyboy6 So er, forget to mention you in my WIP race but mind checking it? I want to make sure the biology and the government are alright before I move on to other parts.
@Wernher got me missing my heavily psychic nation with his neat stuff. I'm going to write up an NS for them in this setting and see how it works. If it doesn't, my Commonwealth NS is mostly done so I'll go back to that.
Wellp, on that note, I have my nice 7.1 surround sound set up, so time to listen to my 80 Gb *cries internally* Star Wars OST with Dolby Sound. Here comes the NS of the Emporium of Man.
Didn't I say that? I'm fairly sure I did. Well, half maybe. When I saw someone basically going full space magics I thought: well in that case, I can ramp my stuff up! I'll try to apply the rule of cool as much as possible in efforts not to make them appear OP but the basic mindset remains the same: aliens that get really old but very few of 'em are left. If you prefer I switch something up, please do tell me.
That kinda seems OP. Like having psychics with magnetism.
I would ask, what kind of psychics? How can one defend against such? What would be their limits? And why would humans leave such dangerous aliens alive?
Okay here's my NS @6slyboy6 Name: The Revghul Monarchy Flag: A dark red circle inside a yellow circle which is surrounded by black Type of Government: Monarchy Description of government: The Revghul territories are ruled by a single Underlord. The underlord is assisted in his rulership by a queen, who wields essentially equal power to the Underlord, and several ravinelords. These lords are everything from military leaders to priests but they have all proven themselves to the Underlord or Queen in some way. Main Race:
Revghuls, a race of humanoid creatures that live in the caves underneath their planet's surface. The race is split between two castes, the higher ghuls and the lesser ghuls. Both castes have pale skin, glowing yellow eyes and have sharp claws with capabilities to walk bipedal or on four limbs and are easily able to burrow through even the toughest dirt. Lesser ghuls are smaller, ranging from 3-4 feet tall and are incredibly nimble , capable of climbing walls and silently moving although they are fairly less intelligent than the higher ghuls. Higher ghuls are far taller than their lesser counterparts, standing between 6 and 8 feet although the upper end of this is rare. They are exceptionally intelligent and cunning, they are also able to spit sulphuric acid if they have any sulphur stored in their body from their planets atmosphere. Male ghuls have tails and grow spikes along their backs as they reach maturity. Most lesser ghuls can live about 40 years before dying while higher ghuls can potentially live for hundreds of years, the oldest living ghul is currently 550 years old.
While ghuls do not technically reproduce at a rapid rate, females of the race are incredibly fertile and on average will produce about 4 children after each 8 month pregnancy cycle. The race also have specially adapted lungs which allow them to inhale the sulphur dioxide that their planets surface contains in abundance, separate the oxygen and store the sulphur in a sack in their throats which they may throw up as sulphuric acid or as the solid itself. This natural ability was actually used to kick star the races industrial revolution.
Minority races: Humans,
Core Lurkers- core lurkers are large spider-like beings that inhabit the deepest caves of the planet, they range from 7-10 feet in height and are generally aggressive towards other races, although during times of crisis for all native races, the species becomes more docile and even cooperation with other races. Core lurkers are relatively intelligent and generally live in small 'villages' in the planet's mantle. They are highly resistant heat.
Urups- Humanoid beings with yellow skin that have adapted to living on the plane surface, they have thick skin and a protective layer over their eyes to protect them during 'sulphur storms'. While many have shown the ability of higher thought and intelligence, most Urups are barbaric and attempt to attack most races on sight, although like the Core lurkers, they become more docile towards other natives during times of crisis. Their aggressive nature has led humans to destroy a large portion of the species.
Demography: 60% Revghul 30% human 5% Core lurker 5% Urups
Religion:
Many Revghuls hold the belief that they and all the other races of their planet were forged from the molten sulphur of the planet's core. This, paired with the strange behaviour of other native races during times of calamity, has lead many Revghuls to believe the core is a God that influences it's creations to work together in times of need and to succeed together. For this reason most Revghul agreed to allow the more primitive races of the planet to unite and form nations so they may create a prosperous empire together. Although this hasn't stopped the Recycle from starting early.
Culture:
Revghuls live and die by their caste. If a Revghul is born a lesser ghul, they will lead a difficult life but they will move through it with an almost fanatical urge to please the monarchy. As a society, and to some degree on an instinctual level, lower ghuls are made to love their monarchy and leaders, from the posters scattered throughout the underground cities to the speeches given by Ravinelords about the greatness of their Underlord and Queen even the monarchs themselves seem to create a sense of awe among all Revghuls.
Higher ghuls (which are much rarer, with there being a 1 in about 1000. chance of a lesser ghul birthing one and a 1 in about 500 chance of a higher ghul birthing one) will be taken under the mentorship of an older Ravinelord who will teach them how to complete a variety of tasks,to read and write and educate them in most technology scholars of the higher ghuls have developed.
History:
When the human imperium first made contact with the Revghul monarchy, the scouting ship that had arrived to survey the planet was quickly dismantled and its occupants ripped apart and devoured by a swarm of lesser ghuls that had found them. When the true human force arrived, the monarchy realised the sheer scale of the enemy they face and welcomed the occupying force with open arms, while a significant amount of lesser ghuls were killed to pay for the lives of the crew members killed, the Revghul monarchy cooperated with most of the imperiums demands quickly and without complaint, they allowed lesser ghuls to be taken and used as spies and welcomed shipments of prisoners sent by the humans to be left in the Mantle Dungeons (essentially tiny cells in the planet's mantle that would gradually roast the occupant alive over the course of several months).
Tensions began to rise between the Revghul and the humans when overseers were put in place to ensure the monarchy did not rebel against the imperium, this wounded the monarchical pride but also caused riots among the lesser ghuls, although they were swiftly silenced. Despite the anger shown by the Revghuls at the beginning of their subservience, little of note happened for several hundred years as the monarchy waited, hoping the imperium would simply die off due to over-expansion and the overseers could then be executed via being thrown into the lesser ghul slums. However as this never happened, even the Underlord began to grow restless and there were whispers in the cities that the imperium was planning to drill the planet's core due to its incredibly high sulphur content that could be used in chemical production and many other things. This led the monarchy to agree in secret that something had to be done about the imperium, it would not be hard to regain the general population's trust and to overthrow the local forces, but the imperium fleet would be a far greater problem.
Important characters(very important, your leader[s], your strategist, your spy master and any other important character IN DETAIL): Underlord- Valvathus Underlord of Mordenia Queen- Vaneria the Ghulqueen Military Leader- Zeneta the Swarmlord Religious leader- Yularia the Corecaller Spymaster- Wantet the Shadowmaster
Description of Military(ships and ground troops):
The Revghuls military is commanded by several dozen Ravinelords who themselves wear advanced suits made of light but strong metal alloys that are fairly resistant to damage and wield a variety of weapons from chainguns to flamethrowers and are skilled in close quarters combat. Lesser ghuls make up the majority of the army using steel blades attached to their wrists and their corrosive spit as weapons with many donning weak iron armour to stop minor damagem A single Ravinelord may command millions of lesser ghuls at a time although the only reliable method of communication is a series of high pitched shrieks that are generally only used for general commands
The Revghul fleet consists of lightly armed but highly manuverable scavenger ships capable of transporting prisoners and goods with ease. Most military leaders also have personal troop transports that are approximately 600 metres in length and 75 metres in height made of thick titanium and armed with heavy kinetic rounds along with chambers that are able to release concentrated sulphur dioxide into the surrounding area.
Technology:
Lesser ghuls are around the end of the industrial era with large factories using sulphur as fuel being present in most undercitities, electricity is also becoming commonplace in most areas.
Higher ghuls have significantly more advanced technology and have fairly advanced space faring technology, higher ghul scholars are currently experimenting with plasma weaponry although it is generally considered not energy efficient enough to use with current technology.
Additional(whatever you feel like you want to add): ghuls began their existence underground due a plant on their planet that used a process similar to photosynthesis to absorb sulphur dioxide and sunlight for energy but respired oxygen out of it's roots while using the sulphur to grow.
Edit:okay I don't know whats wrong with the hider,help
@NecroKnight Just to be clear, not every single one is capable of psychic, psionics or even magnetic manipulation (which they do through tech btw).
They all have latent psychic and psionic abilities. Technically none of these are good enough even to use to they must use implants. Civilian-class implants have no psychic abilities and only minor psionic ones. It's good enough to life your cup. But you're not gonna throw it really hard or anything like that. They are just used to interact with their enviroment (something my guys will love to do).
Then you have Ascendant-class implants. These are the useful ones. However, their potentional is more focused on omnidirectional rather than focused down one lane. IE: they are jack of all trades, master of none. These are the ones that will allow you to throw a rock hard enough to hurt someone, raise magnetic fields and yes, slightly manipulate someones mind. However, any sentient creature can really defend against it. It requires effort to do from the attacking side but if the defensive side takes effort, they'll easily block the attack.
There are various sub-orders (it's detailed in the NS) whom all focus on certain aspects. So yeah, there is a sub-order that focusses on mental attacks. Why are they still alive? This is a fair question. I'm still looking for a good reason to be honest. So far they are obviously confined to a certain space (their monastery) which is under heavy guard. I could say the EOD is interested in these psychic abilities but again, I'd prefer to leave that all open.
So yeah, my basic defense is: there aren't many that can screw with humans, they are currently locked away so my shadowy rebellion force cannot use them. That is, btw, a common theme in my NS. Most of the military sub-orders are locked away or suffered heavy casualties. If @6slyboy6 feels like it, obviously he could say the humans have psychic shields.

you could have the acendant in hiding, much like my military pirates. im sure a few psychic dudes are easier to hide than a 2km long warship.
@Sophrus The Ascendant-class guys will either be in hiding or be used as a sort of forced police force. I actually don't know to what extent we are allowed to keep our armies. My guys will start out as underground rebels. In a way I want the rebels to "unlock" more powerful troops and such by liberating sub-orders. Right to the point where they can bring a genocide to the human population. But again, it sort of depends on what the GM has in mind.
