Recently, I've been craving a "jungle survival" RP that was inspired to me by the former hit ABC show Lost.

This RP will basically have the same setting, initiating crisis and conflict, but totally original characters, plots and elements and whatnot.

The basic skeletal design of the RP will be as follows; (Mind you this is a rough narration. The OP will be far more advanced and sophisticated.)

{ A passenger plane containing 94 passengers, the crew, and attendants, is bound for Los Angeles, California from New Zealand, Australia when a mysterious explosion rips across the plane and sends it hurtling down toward the deep blue below.
While many of the passengers manage to safely jump from the plane and parachute downward, others weren't so lucky, and were plunged into the maw of the Pacific Ocean with the plane to their very deaths.

The others were sallied away by a violent gusting windstorm that carried them down into the jungles of a large and mysterious island.

The survivors quickly find themselves thrown into a wild and harshly unforgiving wilderness as they fight to survive while hopefully waiting on a rescue, though as time passes, they will quickly discover how unlikely their salvation has become, and that this island looks to be their new home.

Pitted against the dangers of the wild as well as other unexplained and bizarre phenomena the island hosts, the survivors will quickly discover that the island is wrought with danger, not just lions, snakes, and diseased mosquitoes.

They will also discover that in dire situations such as this, their fellow man can also be just as, if not more dangerous, than the wilderness.

If will take all the skill they can muster to survive...}

I have a question. Would everyone be arriving at the same spot? It would be cool if different bands formed (like on different sides of the island) and then they could find each other.

*Sighs* Lost? I haven't heard that name in years...

heavy hearted interest. After the end of season 4 I couldn't get through the rest of it, I just couldn't, but I like the idea of an rp form of it

I've only watched about half of season 1 of Lost so far -- mainly because many people expressed the unfortunate downhill-journey of the series during about the third season --, but I was planning on continuing soon, anyway. Therefore, I'm definitely interested in this!

However, I would probably suggest a group consisting of X survivors landing on the same spot. Different groups that meet might be interesting, but that many players also bring some great difficulties for managing the RP. I'd suggest anything vice versa already on the island. Perhaps multiple characters for those who are interested?

As a matter of fact no, due to the harsh gust storm that washes across the parachuting survivors, they are scattered all across the island.

While some will be in close proximity of others, most will be strewn all about, forced to go it alone until they find the others.

I will at some point in the RP introduce a hostile party of survivors.
Think of "The Wolves" from TWD.
These will be survivors of the crash who are basically sent over the edge with survivalism intuition and become competitive and hostile to the other survivors.
Killing the others to eliminate food and resource competition won't even be close to past them.

It'll be a large group of about 25-30.

As OP, I will control AI's/NPC's, so basically I'm thinking that players can have a maximum of 2 characters and the other survivors will be "CPU controlled NPC's".

Myself and a selected CO-GM could be the "CPU's".

Literally, I'll either place a label in their "introduction" IC post or I might just say in the OOC if they can be killed or not.
