Well to be fair, a third of the posts are mostly people talking to each other XD

The RP is meant to be a large group, so I can always use more players

How okay are you with some variation as to how channelership is discovered?

Is touching some backstory magical artifact doohickey fine?

There's no magical stuff in the RP's world beyond the energy controlling stuff. I'm alright with some different ideas, but they have to be within reason and make sense within the world

It's mostly based on their personality. But if the parents and the child have a similar personality, they will likely have the same (or at least similar) powers

It's not really explained anywhere.

I suppose I probably should've explained this better in the OP. Sometime between the ages of 10 to 18, the channeller will notice that, whenever they start feeling a certain intense emotion, they will start using their power. The emotion that brings out the power will be specific to each channeller. So for example, one character I have planned for the RP is someone who is very passionate and easily angered, and one moment when she got really angry, she suddenly created fire from her hands for the first time

Hmm. The problem with this is kind of the same problem as the mech thing, it ends up bringing a whole other aspect of the RP (that being magic) that has to be balanced and fit into the world

It's hard to say for sure for both of these questions. I'll kinda have to read a character sheet that describes these abilities in more depth, we'll just have to wait for when I make the OOC (don't worry, it should be soon)

You know how Luffy is made out of rubber? Something like that. A power thats always on that the user can't turn off, and can only control. However it takes none of their energy to maintain, hence 'passive'.

What IS the tech level of this RP anyway? If its modern day, there is a LOT you can do.

I'm sure you'll make a decision that works fine. My suggestion is allow powers that act like double edges, with upsides and downsides to live with. Like being a vampire for example.

(I'm assuming you're talking about real life technology that actually exists)

It depends on who has it. If it makes sense for a character to have technology like that (like if they or their father were some kind of super important scientist dude or something), then they can have that technology. If they come from a more average background however, then probably not

Basically, it's the same as how it works in real life. There are a lot of crazy pieces of technology in the world, but most average people don't have them. So if you want your character to have some kind of crazy technology, you'll have to come up with a logical reason for how they got it

Oh, and final question. Demon summoning, yay or nay? Like the naruto frog summoning thing and stuff. Except much smaller scale.

I think the limit I'm going to have for materializing items is that they have to be real things that can actually exist. Otherwise it'll just get abused like crazy

I'm thinking of making a mentor whose power is an architect of the earth element. This also means rocks and muds. Metal is not included, though she's currently making an effort to branch out her power to be able to use it as well. I imagine other than the usual earthbending like in Avatar, she can also manifest earth out of her own power, though of course it takes more on her energy. I imagine she can also construct a layer of rock protecting her body in combat. I don't think she would be able to turn her actual skin into rock though as that seems like it's more of an augmenter thing.

She awakened her power back when she was an 11-years old. In a camping trip with her classmates, her group head out to a nearby cave without the supervising teachers knowing. She had already told her friends that she thought it would be a bad idea, but them, being the children they were, didn't listen to her warning. She ended up following them nonetheless as she would feel bad if she snitched to the teachers. In there, they ended up getting lost in the darkness after their flashlights ran out of battery. As her friends cried, she stayed calm and collected, thinking with all her might how she could find a way out. There, she manifested her first power, as she could somehow sense the layout of the cave the more she focused. Indeed, her mind was just like that of the earth, calm and collected in any situation.

Does this sound good?

I have two ideas, both gonna be foreign exchange students since I assume this RP will be set in Japan.

I don't know which kind of channeler this character would fall under, but I had an idea of a kid that could channel his energy to infuse objects with more strength. So, he uses it to do stuff like enhance baseball bats to hit superpowered baseballs that ricochet all over the place to hit people. He'd be a determined soul, but a fish out of water as he'd have zero idea what the hell is going on. Could be the straight man to someone.

The other character would be a Architect that can manipulate plants (maybe specializes in pumpkins). Would be kind, and passionate, but firey. Could be that "firey female character" you mentioned on the OP, but I really don't want to take any spots. lol

Alright, so after working on it for a while and consulting a friend of mine to help with the details, I think I've managed to work out a replacement for illusionists

This channeller category will be also based around creating and controlling things like architects, but these channellers are based more around solid objects. So things like swords, knives, guns, etc. They are limited by the type, number and complexity of the objects they can create, so they can't create an infinite number of an object, they cant create any type of object they want at any time (like a blade guy can only create swords and knives and stuff), and they have to understand how the object is constructed and functions in order to create it so complicated things like machines are limited to the really smart people who can understand them. They can also create a certain type of animal, though they can only create empty bodies that they control, they can't create actual life. These channellers can also control already existing things as well (so a sword guy can also control swords that he didn't create). This also works for animals as well, kind of like mind control for the animal

Oh, and I was also thinking about calling these guys "architects" instead and giving the existing architects a different name, since "architect" makes more sense for these guys
