Let me tell you a story –– one that was lost many years ago. When people hear it, they are sometimes filled with deep regret and sorrow. Others wish they had never heard it at all. And lastly, there are some who believe that, because I am the one telling it, it must be false. "Propaganda." Don't let them say that. This all happened, more or less; it is important that we never forget it so that the mistakes of the past do not become the mistakes of the future.
It starts like this. Once upon a time, the world was protected by great heroes of all shapes and sizes and strengths. Though they hailed from different corners of the world, they worked together harmoniously to defend humanity's interests. When the Omniums turned against their creators for the first time like a child rebelling against its parents, it did so on a cataclysmic scale. Some of you are likely too young to remember, but 'hope' was something that was in short supply.
The United Nations created the team from a selection of skilled combatants from all over the world. Through this ragtag strike team, along with other heroes whose names have been lost to time, each of the Omniums all across the globe were shut down, one by one, until victory was assured.
Perhaps the founding members of Overwatch should have just put their feet up and had a nice cup of tea. God knows we deserved it. The public idolised us, and from the monuments and statues and medals and awards it became clear that our work would never be done. Under a new commander, Overwatch became a peace-time organisation; given sanction to do as they pleased, and it pleased them to continue with their good work. The Omnic threat had subsided, but they could shield the new, budding future that held neither hate nor prejudice.
In the shadows, their sister organisation, Blackwatch, thrived. Someone had to be willing to get their hands (and reputation) dirty in the name of peace. The criminal element seeking redemption by working for Overwatch in spirit, if not in name, was often criticised as being unstable, unreliable and undesirable, but the dangerous jobs were completed, whatever the cost.
This equilibrium could not last forever. A series of suspicious events led to a loss of UN funding, then the trust of the people, and then even its leaders in the catastrophic destruction of the Zürich base. Everything that the organisation had worked so hard to achieve crumbled away, and the world was cast back into darkness.
Once upon a time, there were heroes. But where are they now? The Omniums are reactivating one by one and once more threaten us with mass destruction. Some even welcome the chaos they bring. Overwatch has returned with less of the firepower but all of the heart. It is the time for new names to mix with old veterans as they answer the call to arms in the first days of the Second Omnic War.

Welcome to Recall, an Overwatch Roleplay! This RP will be centered around returning Overwatch agents new and old, set a few months after Winston's Recall cinematic. In that time, Omniums around the world have been showing signs of activation. It's Overwatch's goal as a united group of heroes to save the world from the impending Omnic War. As the agents are sent to each country affected by the reactivating Omniums to dismantle them once more, they might find that an army of machines are not the only obstacles in their way. An old enemy lies in wait, ready to strike at any sign of vulnerability in the name of chaos.
As players, we will be taking control of the canon Overwatch characters, but only those specifically affiliated with Overwatch. This means that Talon characters and characters who are MIA (Ana and Jack) will be unplayable to begin with. In addition to this, we will not be allowing Omnic chacters for various reasons until a certain point in the IC. A comprehensive list of playable characters:
- Mercy
- DVa
- Pharah
- Genji
- Hanzo
- Lucio
- McCree
- Mei
- Reinhardt
- Torbjorn
- Tracer
- Zarya
The other characters will become playable as the roleplay moves on. Yhese spots aren't limited and aren't on a first come, first serve basis. I will judge if you're right for the character and if you can play them well. That being said, I will allow OCs so long as they're new recruits or apprentices who have never been a part of Overwatch. They're fresh with no connections or affiliations with the original members. Omnic OCs are subject to the same restriction as canon ones. All characters must use real life face claims (unless not applicable to the character) - no stock or incredibly low quality photos, please.
The CS and further information will come when the OOC hits! For now, feel free to ask any questions and I'll give you my best answers.
