I was in the process of writing one last night, gonna finish and hopefully have it on its way today

@Mr Allen J If I had my second character figured out I might. The idea's kind of bizarre though so it'll probably take a while.

I know that feel. For the last few days i've been trying not to concentrate on this one idea for a character that would be hell to actually RP through just text but won't leave me alone no matter what.

Ah, I'm just trying to figure out a good way for someone to beat people up with a motorcycle while also having that flow nicely into a second stance sans bike. Between work giving me a lot of time to think about this stuff and all of the tokusatsu related trash I've been consuming recently I think I have most of it down, though.

So just out of curiosity does anyone have a free character they don't know what to do with? I'm working on a snake lady post and was wondering if I could work off someone while this tournament goes on.

@KaiserElectric I'm a bit short on time at the moment, but Inanna might be good for that.

Yeah ill have a small post up soon of Faf experiencing a TV. In the meanwhile if you're worried about the RP I suggest making like, a discord server or something. From experience, players are less likely to leave and the RP will continue its longevity..though posts will likely be slow for a while regardless.

Gotta say I'm thankful for the down time, just bought the Kingdom Hearts remix so I've been plowing through that whilst all these collab posts been happening. Got the MGS collection coming in May so things college wise are not looking too bright

Replaying through the first which I was too young to really understand what was going on. Looking forward to playing two since I never even got a chance to give that a go

HD or Legacy? Either way, I'd say that they're perfect if they didn't leave out the nightmare codecs from Snake Eater. _{They also took out that whole Ape Escape tie in but even as an Ape Escape fan I don't really care that much...}

As for my gaming bucket list, I've got Yakuza 0 (and the rest of the series once I'm done with that), both Nier games, Breath of the Wild, Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2 (and I guess I'm replaying the first one now that I got it on Steam), The Last Guardian, the Pokemon and Ace Attorney games I missed until I got a 3DS, and I'm also doing another DMD run on DMC1 in HD this time and going through Viewtiful Joe on V-Rated for the first time because I guess I can't just play one Hideki Kamiya game at a time.

Yeah, I'm gonna be at these for a while...

Legacy, got it for £30 with an extended shipping time cause it was that or pay upwards of £70 for basically the same thing. Although the version I bought doesn't come with the artbook sadly but hey it had the most reasonable price for all of those games so I'm happy. Gonna try playing them all chronologically so it's 3, PP, 1, 2, 4 and maybe Revengeance. Never played Peace Walker which it also comes with so gonna need to look that one up timeline wise, pretty sure it's after three though.

But yeah I couldn't even begin to go through all those games. My college work/ social life/ musical career is suffering enough as it is~

I personally prefer playing them in release order but yeah, Peace Walker takes place 10 after MGS3 if I remember. I'd personally like it if they didn't go on with all of these Big Boss prequels after 4 wrapped things up but Peace Walker's pretty nice. It's kind of like MGSV if it had some gameplay variety, more boss fights, a final boss _{(Well, two final bosses)}, a neat plot, and actually felt finished. The fact that it was originally made for PSP does mean that it's a bit sparse in guards and a few other concessions so it might help to keep that in mind as far as expectations go.

They gave him 80 million dollars and a few years to make the game, which is more than a lot of developers could hope for. When I played the game and drove through all those vast expanses of wilderness with nothing significant in them, it really struck me as a waste of time and money, and coupling this with the writing fumbles like the one you mentioned with Ocelot really gives me the feeling that Kojima and his team were doing a poor job at managing the time and money they were given, whether it was sufficient or not. Even if he'd gotten it, rounding off the game with yet another Sahelanthropus fight like it was supposed to still feels pretty underwhelming.

But yeah, those optional scenes with Venom breaking up fights and shit with his boys were pretty cool and I would have liked to see more of that sort of thing.

Oh yeah Konami isn't the primary one to blame imo. But I kind of feel like they have some indirect responsibility, 80 million or no Kojima didn't even want to make another game in the series and like you said with the expansive worlds with nothing of note in them and really a plot that overall doesn't really need to exist in the grand scheme of things it really shows. I mean, with the Ocelot thing and other questionable choices there is some excuse for it, but it feels less like a major plot element having validity and more like it's there just so the point itself isn't entirely nonsense. It's more that it's a game that has a lot of tools to be great, I'd argue the gameplay is probably the smoothest MGS has ever been but from a story and emotional standpoint everything feels either cardboardy and tacked on (killing the infected soldiers really didn't even come close to hitting me with the emotional punch as much as furiously tapping X through the microwave hallway) or they're just not there.

It's just the games good points that annoy me more for that reason. Like I love seeing Venom show Eli why Big Boss is the master of CQC, or just that scene with Ocelot echoing the words Big Boss taught him in 3, if there was at least more of that I could enjoy my experience more and empathize more with the cast.
