I go by Volbius across most of this series of tubes. I'm a seasoned roleplayer, been faffing about with various methods and systems for about a decade - got started on a small forum called the Epitome of Awesome when I was in high school. I've been missing the experience of play-by-post roleplay ever since the forum fell through, but since then I've done pen-and-paper work in Pathfinder, 5e, Rogue Trader, GURPS, Numenera, and a few other systems.

I'm especially interested in your Nation roleplay section - it's the general form of the stuff I used to enjoy and haven't been able to find for a long time. However, I also expect to pick up an Advanced or at least high Casual game. I'm really looking forward to these games as a reason for and exercise in creative writing, a skill I used to employ much more often. I'm interested in almost any genre but I tend to lean on the sci-fi end of things.

He means that both the players tend to literally die as well as that the roleplays tend to wane in popularity and regularity after a couple weeks.

You'd think the players are dying, but many simply aren't interested and end up being active everywhere but said nation roleplay, resulting in increasingly dead IC and OOC threads for nation roleplays until they die altogether.

And the reboots, I find, die even faster. >.<

For the NRP bit (and RPs in general), its best if you live in the moment and make the most out of the present; an RP may die but the memories you have of it never will
