far from that, mate.

now that trump's elected, the alt-right get to have fun for the next 4 - 8 years. think of it as a long celebration.

as for the appeal of them, i dunno. it's hard to explain when you're not an alt-righter.

It's a term created by the authoritarian left to describe anyone who disagrees with the authoritarian left, so really what you're asking is, "What is the appeal of having an opinion which differs from the mainstream?"

Citation? I'm pretty sure Richard Spencer coined the term.

@Dynamo Frokane You don't have to invent a new word from scratch for it to carry new meanings and connotations through your propaganda, you know. It existed in 2010 but it wasn't prevalent until Hillary's speeches in 2016. They found a fringe word and assigned it to anyone they wanted to demonize as a bunch of filthy racist-sexist-Islamohomotransphobes trying to hinder that sweet, sweet progress of getting a person with a vagina into the Oval Office.

It's the Red Scare: 2017 Edition. Anyone who likes U, V, or W, but doesn't like X, Y, or Z, is a communist sympathizer alt-righter.

At this point "alt right" has become the "Yankee Doodle" of the current year because a small number of people have chosen to wear the label proudly, believing that doing so will disarm it of its negative connotations. But at its heart it is a term which the left appropriated to lump them all together into a single, easily-attacked entity.

@Dynamo Frokane

(Note: Sarcasm may be involved. And I swear to Christ if someone bitches at me for this, I'm going to give up on this planet.)

Like @Grimhildr said, the fact their candidate got elected certainly doesn't mean they will go away..."Racism" talks never disappeared when Obama got elected...Rhino's didn't go away because of Bush. Rapists didn't go away because of Bill-I'm joking, but you get my point. The only reason a movement would vanish into thin air, if it was a paid protest. (Where did BLM go?) or if it became extremely unpopular. Because honestly when you get down to it, most people just follow a cult/bandwagon of their choice. People's are inconsistent and hypocrites on a daily basis. Happens in sports, happens in school, and you bet it happens in politics too!

And when you think of your typical alt-righter...You think "person who uses meme's and tries to piss crybabies off on the internet, because they think they're actually funny. While also basically aware of the extreme messages that they're deplorable, -ist in everything and evil as can be akin to Nazi's themselves. And basically the oppositions makes them out to be fucking renegades...and they are pushing back at the establishment but instead of hippie music, they're doing it with a cartoon frog." While also being taken extremely seriously and getting devoted a shit ton of attention by the media either calling them Satan or taking their stupid trolling seriously. Why do YOU think people are appealed by the alt-right? :I

It's because of all of these assholes: And people like to laugh at the high on mighty when they'll wrong.
youtube.com/watch?v=CiJYGV8faZw
youtube.com/watch?v=XqEddipbpkw

When people start chilling the hell out and start not trying to generalize people and try to silence them. And then have the Streisand Effect kick them in the head. Maybe then we'll actually get somewhere.

(Note: You already know my political position but I'm not alt-right. Nor is this an attack on any specific political movement. Merely a statement on exactly why they exist, according to someone who is half awake.)

@pugbutter So in your opinion what is the Alt Right? I'm sure it has a definition beyond what Hilary Clinton thinks it is, right?

@SleepingSilence@pugbutter Okay you guys have done a great job at telling me what Hilary Clinton's voting base have tried to label the Alt Right. *slow clap*

But I'm genuinely asking about the real alt-right, not the ones who have been misrepresented and wrongly labeled, I'm talking about those who call themselves it. Richard Spencer, Jared Taylor, Vox Day, Styxenhammer, Red Ice Radio, Baked Alaska, Millennial Woes etc. Real people who take their own opions very seriously and their followers, I'm genuinely asking why these people are still energised, post trump election.

If you cant answer this question without bringing up SJW and 'Mainstream Media' and their strawmen then don't answer the question, I'm talking about the real ideology here.

@Dynamo Frokane Because the Hillary Clinton'ing of their movement has never gone away? And still persists as strong as ever? Like I'm not alt-right, I don't know every facet of what they actually believe and if they even have core principles. So I won't pretend I do. But I'm convinced most people don't fucking know themselves what they actually stand for. I'm just being honest...the alt-right is the new "cool" thing to be...and is only made valid by how many people try to demonize them at every chance they get.

Being a renegade and the anti-heroes of politics. Is appealing because of how human nature works...simple as that really...if there is a more complex and elaborate reason, I'm fucking clueless about it. But really how "complicated" are most people's political opinions, when the average person's entire belief system is almost always based on gut emotional reactions?

Edit: And if you're asking why they like Trump or are excited he's in office, because how many people flipped their shit when Obama was elected? Like I don't get how this isn't clear.

Now note, I'm not saying this is all accurate and maybe you or others don't like the thing he has put into action so far, but the fact of the matter is, unlike everyone previously voted for. He IS doing a lot of the things people excited about him who elected him in the first place...or at least people believe that.

So a elected official actually doing what he promised? That's probably amazing to anyone who is apart of the younger generation. (once again, whether you like it or if it actually is happening. This is what the "alt-right" thinks. Which at this point, I'm convinced is a another means nothing label anyway...)

You don't have to like my answer, but this isn't some kind of trick answer...it's the best one I got...and hopefully you can accept it.

So this is how you show apathy? I'd hate to see you responding to someone who's opinions you DO give a shit about...

hey, look, at least i'm not the dude who's so self-absorbed in his own ego, he feels the need to count how many people hate him, and then count how many times those people comment on his threads. like, i thought i had a god complex, man, but you take the cake.

and yeah, i'm pretty sure making a joke about your idiocy is apathy. i'm sorry, was it too harsh?

Do you have these numbers somewhere? I'd actually love to see them if you could pull them up.

Trust me, you getting upset over memes doesn't rank extremely high in things I consider harsh, you can relax, I promise not to cry.
