Muttonhawk Let Slip the Corgis of War

Member Seen 2 days ago

I'm kinda depressed that I killed off Shaqmar and Layla and am kinda torn. A part of me wants to backtrack and make that epilogue (or at least the last paragraph) a dream...

To those who have gotten round to reading it, what do you think? Should I do it? Or should I just leave it?

Leave it be please. You've still got the world there, you can make or take up other characters.

@Muttonhawk Is that a 'no, please, no more, don't, I've had enough of those damn- pleeaaase' leave it be, or is it a 'that was a good way to end it' leave it be? Tell the truth or I'm getting the corgis...

@Kho Follow your heart yo. But really I say forge a new path. You've got a wicked creative mind, it should be used to explore rather than backtrack.

I'd say leave it be. It was a well-written tragedy.

Dammit Kho we talked about this. You love Qaseer! How could anybody not love Qaseer?

Now Qaseer is gonna have to be the guy that lives to see the Victor's prophecy come true. In the mean time, he has a war to fight with all those other guys who Shaqmar pissed off!

Edit: And yes I was pissed when I read the IC post only to see your final addition where Shaqmar dies, but you know. My state of being pissed just goes to show that you wrote it well enough to garner emotional investment, which is no small feat. Good writing never has happy endings anyways

Word of advice: do not choose anything related to the domain Chaos if you plan to make a character. :P

@Lauder Punny, but quite literal too @Scarifar I was looking to create a demigod of madness. (working name is Pelegath) He would be a chaotic demigod not by choice but by nature and be as likely to help guardians of order as he would aid vanguards of destruction. A completely unpredictable entity who would enjoy screwing with sentient races just because he feels like it. He would the power to induce all manner of madness from garden-variety paranoia to full blown insanity. What damage he might cause would be entirely random and impossible to find a pattern in because the Mad Demigod would himself be mad.

I also have (what I think are) some really great ideas about how a demigod such as him could have stationary holy states and even gain a sizable amount of followers if you're interested.

I think something like that already exists, but I haven't exactly been following everyone's storylines, so don't take my word for it. Seriously, don't.

@Jarl Coolgruuf I feel like that is one niche that is already very explored by a whole lot of dudes and a lizard. Not to say it can't be played, but it will feel similar to some other players.

Also, avoid the lizard, it's bound to receive a pretty cure.

@Double Capybara @Scarifar I can assume that the concept of madness had been explored but I've done some skimming and it seems that there is not an actual demigod/god of madness and the only god with domain over mind appears to be dead. To get into specifics, I've been talking with @Lauder about my concept and he made the suggestion for Pelegath to be born of the madness building within Keriss (yes, the lizard). The basic idea is for Keriss' mental instability to reach a breaking point and from that event Pelegath is born and takes with him the Demigoddess of Suffering's madness with him into the physical world. There's more we talked about but I don't want to give too much away right out of the gate in case this actually gains traction.

@Jarl Coolgruuf You seem to have a good idea of what the RP is like, but just to go through the normal procedures:

I recommend that you read the opening post if you haven't already, and the Summary in the second OOC post. The summary goes up to page 13, so when you finish it you can continue by reading each post's summary from page 14 onward.
We also have a wiki that has some cool stuff that you can check out (link under FAQs).

Once done, you may begin working on a Character Sheet for Pelegath and submit it here. You will generally get some feedback on the initial sheet here from both GMs and other players. Once all that is done, the GMs will retire to consider your character sheet and either accept or reject it.
