STAR WARS

VICTORY! The Dreaded DEATH STAR
Has Been Destroyed By the Rebellion.
In The Aftermath Of This Triumph,
The Rebel Alliance Scatters To Fan
The Flames Of Revolution!

One Of Their Targets Is ORD TARANOS!
A Massive Factory There Fuels the Empire's
Legions Throughout the Sector, Preventing
Dozens of Worlds From Joining the Alliance...

-----------------------------------------------------

First, I would like to say, welcome one and all to this project/RP incubator. I've been trying to design this sandbox of Ord Taranos for about a month now, but I'm hitting road block after road block (and that's without Real Life interfering). So I was wondering if anyone would want to lend their time and creative energy to making a complete planet. Not one of those "All Water" or "All Jungle" planets, but a varied biosphere with more than one settlement, competing factions, and adventure around every corner. Some things I know about this planet, other things I can guess at.

The only major rules I'd like to keep to in this?

1.) The Empire controls this planet. That fact is undisputed. At best the people of Ord Taranos have a simmering hatred for their Imperial overlords. At worst, a fatalistic cynicism has set in.

2.) This is a game of "Yes, and-" not a game of "No, mine!" Having said that, if you want to borrow someone's character/location/organization/McGuffin, please consult with them before doing so. It is only courteous to do so.

3.) Be respectful of other peoples' contributions. If you think their idea is dumb, that's fine. We're building a whole planet. Feel free to say "My group/person/city does not interact with their X because of Y." And leave it at that.

4.) Templates are just that, templates. They are not set in stone. You may embellish them or trim them down as you desire. Write them in the form of an Alliance Intel report, ISB internal memo, a message from a local smuggling contact, but to show that you have read these rules, I expect every entry to contain a Plot Hook, clearly marked as such. This is an open-ended plot idea, such as "ISB Agent Vichous always visits Room 101 on Tuesdays. No one knows what lies beyond that door but him, but some hear the sounds of screams within..."

5.) Please post templates in OOC before they are posted in the "canon" IC folder so they can be reviewed for meeting the necessary requirements.

Having said all of that, I will post a few templates and make an initial IC post before heading off to work.

@Aleranicus Do you think it would be possible for me to have a crime organization operate in the pockets of Taranos Magnos?

Absolutely. Like I said, as long as the ISB is technically ruling the planet, this is a sandbox to build in. I'm interested in any and every idea that can be brought to the table!

Hey, if you're still accepting, I'd be interested in helping out. I've had some ideas I could use for something like this.

Haven't finalized the details as of yet, but the idea that I've got so far is a group of Jedi Survivors and Rogue Clones who had their inhibitor chips removed, or if we go by Legends, just flat up disobeyed or never received Order 66.

I tend to take the idea that the movies and TV shows are the only "Canon" and everything else is just flexible rumors.

That's fine. My idea is actually kinda far fetched but easily toned down.

I have made a Clone Unit known as the 117th Attack Battalion. The idea is that when Order 66 came down, they 117th were out of communications range, and thus never received the order. Through other means the Jedi General, Jedi Knight Kelen Rolin, learned about what had happened (The Destruction of the Jedi Order, The Betrayal of the Clones, the Rise of the Empire, etc...). However, instead of trying to escape his clones, he decided to help them, and ordered the removal of the inhibitor chips from all his men.

He kept his force on the fringe of the known galaxy, knowing that they would eventually be hunted down if discovered. He believed that until a significant opponent of the Empire emerged, any offensive he made would be taken out. Years later, he would hear news that a group known as the Alliance to Restore the Republic, or Rebel Alliance, had destroyed a massive Imperial Superweapon, the Death Star. There was his possible ally.

Not wanting to risk revealing his full numbers yet, he took his Padawan, Twilek Jedi Padawan Teela Kamara, his Clone Commander CC-7501 "Bronze", and the groups most elite unit known as Hailfire Squad, and headed into the galaxy to search out this Rebellion. Eventually, he happened upon Ord Taranos, which had a strong Imperial presence in the system but was also home to a Rebel Cell. Not the easiest group to find, even harder to meet given the circumstances. While he searched for them, he made life... difficult... for the Imperials, as he began nicking away at their numbers.

This is the summary of the idea I had. If it doesn't work, I've got another continuity I could use, but not many have actually considered something like this, an entire Clone Battalion who never received Order 66, and ended up fighting against the Empire at some point.

At most, I can delete the rest of the Clone Forces, leaving just the Jedi, Commander, and Hailfire Squad as the Rogues.
