Appearance: Name: Gabriel Moreau Nickname (if any): "Gabby" (More to be added if any are made up in the future) Age: 16 Height: 6'2" Weight: 182 lbs
Short Bio: The life of a young man growing up under the shadow of a military success was expected to be one of impressing. That was certainly the case for Gabriel, who struggled to keep in shape, both physically and mentally. His father expected only the best from his healthy and eldest of three boys. Many children didn't seek friendship in him, because he spent most of his time trying to perfect himself. His world came crashing down when his father was killed in action, however. The young Gabriel struggled soon after, trying to find a new meaning to life. He resorted to thrill-seeking, provoking the guards within Shiganshina by joining small gangs filled with troubled boys.
Gabriel's mother, a cripple bound to a makeshift wheelchair, was always troubled by his behavior soon after. She knew that his lifestyle even before his father's death was unhealthy and always sought to comfort the boy. When a scuffle broke out between the gangs of boys, Gabriel took a defensive approach to a new member, having grown protective of the few people he opened up to. Unfortunately, the gangs abandoned him after he received a large cut to the side of his face. After returning home a bleeding mess, his mother scolded him, and for the first time ever was able to reach through to the young man, who had finally poured out his true feelings. Life afterwards became better as he reached the age fourteen. Although he has a not-so-welcome reputation in Shiganshina due to his time with ruffians, some have begun to open up to him once more after leaving his old lifestyle. Some rumors have even spread of him looking towards a military career...
Personality: Gabriel can be considered by most to be a level-headed person, often using rational thought to work out an issue rather than take an emotional approach. While this may be slightly true, Gabriel is good at hiding his true emotions, only really breaking at times of major stress. His time in a young boys gang has led him to more fights than he can count, giving him a bit of scorn towards fights that don't lead anywhere or have no greater purpose, especially ones that involve a friend or two. Despite his tough up-bringing, Gabriel has grown to be a compassionate individual. This can be seen most when he took to the defensive after a new member in his gang was attacking, ultimately leading to his scarred face.

While Reese has mostly retained his casual demeanor towards his friends, he does dislike showings of laziness and disrespect for the military, and will not hesitate to make others aware of his anger. While they may have other plans for the future, he remains critical in his ability to preserve the bonds that tie his relationships together.

Reese Kestrel was the youngest of three children, and the only son to a wealthy family of trade proprietors; the Kestrel family resided in the safe confines of Stohess District within Wall Sina. Initially spoiled and living a childhood in luxury, his father had been raised under the principle of earning his own place in the world, as did his grandfather before. The young boy had only known his immediate family for the first years of his life before he was entrusted in the care of his uncle, who lived in the northern Utopia District of Wall Maria. Unfortunately, at the age of six, this would be the last time that he would see his immediate family, for the years to come.
Not much sooner, Reese and the family relocated to Trost District, where his uncle could better operate the trade routes tasked by his father. When his tenth birthday came, the youth volunteered to accompany his uncle and the other traders in their work, to which they happily obliged. Their activities all across each Wall and district allowed him to discover and befriend many other children, telling them about his travels and the sights he had been able to see.
Reese had been shaping himself up to meet his father in the near future, to prove to himself and his father that he was ready to inherit the family's name and responsibility. With three years of experience under his belt at a very young age, his notion had only needed several more years until it would come to fruition. However, this routinely visitation to Shiganshina District would be the last.
On that day, the pair that was the Colossal and Armored Titan would successfully breach Wall Maria, catching the entirety of humanity off guard. Reese was among the many lost souls amidst the feeding grounds of the invading titans, fighting against the tide of fleeing civilians in search of his uncle. This search ended in a failure as he was abruptly taken to safety by the butcher, his uncle presumably among the hundreds that were devoured during the nightmare.
With the death of Kled Kestrel, Reese and the displaced refugees were transported to the temporary sectors of residence within Wall Rose, though the boy was able to transfer himself and all of his friends to Trost District through his connections to avoid the desolate conditions that the refugee camps offered. He kept to his friends for the next two years, and while his aunt's family was devastated by the loss of Kled Kestrel, they more-than-happily welcomed Gabriel and Olivia with open arms.
Learning of his friends' desire to enlist in the military, Reese did not wish to be left behind, making a fatalistic decision to enlist alongside them. He had a slow start to the training process, but six months into the three years of training, the boy had potentially shown the highest ceiling of growth among all of the recruits.
Through many of the military's coarse trials and many more of his own errors, Reese stood proudly among his peers as he triumphed over each hurdle. He would go on to complete the training as the fifth overall ranking graduate of the 104th Training Corps, and intends to follow wherever his friends go.

A courageous soldier with a steadfast devotion to the preservation of humanity, Ovidius embodies the very definition of what it means to serve in the military. Loyal to his comrades and trustworthy in his arms, there is a rare passion in the young man, often blanketed by the casual demeanor that he interacts with. He is selfless to others, whether it be as an advisal to another or as a person to listen.
While others say that he is an inspiration for hope in their fear, Ovidius can be surprisingly reticent when it comes to speaking about other matters, often finding himself in deeper thoughts moreso than conversations. Regardless, should it be requested, he will assist another individual without question. A known critic for the portion of laziness within the military, the young man respects determination, to which he claims is his very own will to exist.
At times, Ovidius may come off as brazen and abrasive, though it is rare to see him genuinely upset, noting that it would only be a display of weakness and lower morale. He is not afraid to stand up for himself or others, possessing a tougher mental fortitude through his childhood and experiences in the military. This serious aspect of his personality is offset by a knack for jest, though it goes without saying that he constantly wages a war deep within his own self.
As a witness to perpetual tragedy and a survivor of several events and expeditions that claimed the lives of countless peers, Ovidius has seen many things that others have not, and has only used those experiences as a stepping stone to act as the leader that others need when he is granted that role, though even the toughest shell can crack under the exposure of immense pressure.
[ ❇ ] B I O G R A P H Y
A modest background is everything that Ovidius Lohr would have hoped for, and it was what he had received, for the most part. Hailing from a small town only several miles away from Karanes District, his family descended from those who had lived off of the natural land; they would be the first of the line to step foot into ordinary civilization, and claim it as their permanent residence.
Ovidius was a middle son to the fairly healthy family; a sibling to two younger brothers, an older brother, and an older sister. Their father was a fiend for the idea of possessing wealth, wishing to elevate their standing in society from the lowest point. This caused a rift to occur within the family, and while the siblings had always been close, it was his older sister, Nanna, than he had cherished the most, further beyond the rest.
His father sought to wed Nanna off to a higher-class family residing within the innermost walls, and Ovidius found himself separated from his older sister when she adamantly refused, turning her back on their father and running away from the family. With this 'rebellious' display, their father grew furious, frequently subjecting their family through stages of abuse whenever his ideology was neglected or criticized. It was Ovidius who would protect his mother and his brothers from this abuse, exposing the six-year old to the most pain.
It took several years for his mother to gather enough courage and funds to remove themselves from his father's sphere of influence, and after speaking with Ovidius and his younger brothers, they would leave for a new life shortly after. While they drifted from town to town throughout this year, they would eventually settle in Trost District. The nine-year old would come to discover that Nanna had enlisted in the military, seeing his older sister in a Garrison uniform when she was stationed in Trost. They were only able to speak for a few moments before she returned to her post, and later on, before she left to be stationed elsewhere.
While it was not the most glamorous of goals as perceived by his mother, Ovidius stated his intention of enlisting in the military in the footsteps of his older sister, wishing to find and speak to Nanna once again. His friends and the other adults called him insane, but the boy's resolve was set and clear, and after ensuring that he was physically able for the task, he enlisted at the age requirement of twelve alongside two friends, Bixon and Asher.
Ovidius adjusted quickly to the harsh training regiment, and while he was initially touted solely for his strength and skill with the gear, the instructor noted a growing leadership quality that naturally sprung during his last year of training. This propelled the fifteen-year old into the top ten, graduating from the 102nd Training Corps in Year 845 as the second-overall ranking trainee. Bixon and Asher held the rankings of eighth and tenth overall, respectively.
There were many officers from each military branch that sought Ovidius for the potential that he displayed, though his primary goal of finding his sister would lead to their major disappointment, as he and his two friends decided to join the Garrison. He was stationed primarily along the districts of Wall Maria, and while he had finally reunited with his older sister in Shiganshina, it was a bittersweet reunion at best, for the Colossal Titan was soon to come on that day.
Only two months into his career with the Garrison, and Ovidius was a witness to the Colossal Titan successfully breaching Wall Maria, enacting a living hell upon Shiganshina District. With the military caught completely off guard, and with no true plan drafted for this type of situation, the Garrison were in complete disarray as the overwhelming number of titans encroached upon their ranks. He had no knowledge of where his sister had gone to, and with the titans' line quickly pushing their forces to the inner wall, Ovidius led a daring command to hold the titans back, in an effort to give the civilians enough time to evacuate.
It was needless to say that Ovidius' efforts were in vain, as the select few that followed him were devoured, and only a very narrow escape allowed him to survive the entire ordeal, claiming one of the few remaining horses at the stables and retreating towards Wall Rose. Only at the barracks of Trost, did he finally break down under the extreme fear and pain, seeing that Nanna was on the list of the deceased. Having not seen how his sister had died, he began to suffer from nightmares of all the different scenarios, even through the consolation of his two friends who had survived.
These nightmares would worsen as Ovidius was among the 250,000 soldiers to be sent on a suicidal operation to reclaim Wall Maria, which saw the deaths of nearly the entire force, of which included Bixon and Asher, who had died in his own arms. This failure of command, and the government's neglect for the lives of the soldiers, resulted in the young man's disillusion with the military. It had only been his first year, and he had already witnessed atrocities of the largest scale.
Knowing of the Survey Corps' lack of corruption and true regard for its soldiers, Ovidius transferred to the branch in the same year, ignoring the warnings from his advisers in the Garrison. He began to wear the Survey Corps' colors with pride, and since then, he has grown into one of its core members, a veteran of countless expeditions beyond the wall.
Nickname: 'Law' (shortened from Lauren, nothing to do with the law) Age: 13 > 15 > 18 Height: 5' 1" > 5' 5" > 5' 8" Weight: 90 lbs > 115 > 160 lbs
Short Bio: Born into a military family, of sorts, Lauren always had the notion that she would enroll one day as per the family tradition. Her father, a large and brawny man with a gentle nature, worked as a doctor specialising in injuries and was often one who tended to the survivors the Scouts brought back from their forays beyond the Wall. Her mother was a low ranking officer in the Garrison who was posted on the walls surrounding Shiganshina facing out towards the land dominated by Titans. This was still a low danger job as no Titan could reach them on top of the walls and there was no need for them to attack the Titans clawing at the walls, unless the Scouts were coming or returning.
Due to the location of their work, Lauren's family moved into Shiganshina shortly after she was born and lived well. Lauren was dimly aware that she had other family somewhere past Wall Rose but had never met them, having spent her entire life up until now in the small town.
After the Titans broke through Wall Maria, Lauren fled with her wounded Pa, Mora, Jade and the little boy whom Cain (Mora's deceased brother) rescued, Atticus. In the two years between then and signed up to join the Cadets, Lauren worked as a medic in her father's stead and has become very capable in the field. She has grown closer with Jade and Mora, the latter especially, and feels the need to look out for them for both have developed strong and stubborn personalities which she fears will land them in trouble.
Unknown to anyone else, except perhaps her Pa whom she is sure has his suspicions, Lauren has turned to alcohol to help her through harder times, especially when turning in for the night. She feels shame in her reliance on spirits but sees no other way to cope with the loss of her Ma and the other horrors she saw in Shinganshina.
After three years of training in the cadets, Lauren has a toughness which she had never possessed before. She had confronted her alcohol dependency and renewed her focus on her mother's last orders, to return to Shiganshina one day. Her relationship with Mora remains an awkward friendship but also something more, never truly realised but enough to give her hope. As she grew closer to Mora, however, her friendship with Jade became from fractious, the younger girl jealous unspoken bond forming between the two older girls.
Now that Mora and Jade had been ordered to the Northern districts, Lauren has chosen to focus on the task at hand; resolving to survive and retake Shiganshina one day, for them if not for herself. Then, finally, they might return there together and turn the clock back to before that fateful day.
Personality: Lauren's always been the quiet type, she dislikes being in the limelight and prefers to follow others. By no means is she unable to make her own decisions, she merely doesn't feel comfortable making them for others. She's open to other people but rarely makes the first move to engage them, just as comfortable being lost in her own thoughts as being surrounded by friends. During the day, and especially when with others, she prefers to be doing something active rather than sitting around and talking but she'll go with the flow of things most of the time.
After the escape from Shinganshina, Lauren has learned responsibility through her work as a medic alongside her Pa. She tends to mother groups of people, especially her close friends Mora and Jade, and is forever concerned with others' welfare. That is not to say that she's turned soft, for there is steel within her and she doesn't pamper her patients.
Nickname: Jay Age: 18 Height: 5' 11" Weight: 180 lbs
Short Bio: Jay speaks little of his life before the cadets and is often prickly when pressed. The little he has revealed is of his parents, weavers working in Shiganshina in the shadow of Wall Maria, who were killed in the town's fall. Their house was near the gate which the Colossal Titan breached and so there was no chance for them to escape, the initial blast or the ensuing Titan attack ending their lives. Jay escaped, having been away from home at the time and escaped the disaster.
He spent the following years as a cutpurse and a thug, travelling around various towns within Wall Rose before being picked up by a recruiter drumming up support for the cadets, enticed as he was by the promise of a steady pay cheque.
Personality: Confrontational and blunt, Jay makes few friends. He's loyal to those around him but does not work well in a team and comes across as rude and ready for a scrap.
Short Bio: Captain of the Special Operations Squad of the Survey Corps and reputedly the fastest and most skilled user of the gear, Alice's more humble origins make her reputation all the more remarkable. Born into an orphanage from where she moved immediately into the military at an extraordinarily young age, having approached her current height at the age of eleven, she is one of the youngest cadets to have made it through the Training Corps' strict regime. She quickly showed great promise, in particular with the Gear, and came top of that year's graduating Cadets but spurned the promise of a luxurious career in the Military Police in exchange for a role in the Garrison.
Stationed in Shiganshina at the time of the attack, Alice came face to face with the true horror of the Titans. She had seen them from atop the Wall, seen the Survey Corps returning battered and defeated time after time but nothing had brought the reality of a Titan's power, their sheer appetite for humanity and the seeming inevitably of death at their giant hands like he arrival of the Colossal Titan and the subsequent destruction of the town.
She immediately requested a transfer to the Survey Corps and rapidly worked her way up to Captain having shown no real appetite previously for advancement or any real motivation beyond simply surviving.
Personality: Deadly serious at all times with a burning rage towards Titans always simmering below the surface, Alice can often seem like a bomb ready to go off at the slightest touch. She is fiercely protective of those under her command but is aware that sacrificing herself would be a detriment to humanity, more so than the loss of any other skilled soldier currently in the Survey Corps. She is not unkind but rarely interacts on a deeply personal level, encouraging those struggling with negative emotions to simply work through them without engaging herself. She is a fighter rather than a leader, choosing to command a small team of elite soldiers who support her more than work with her, allowing her a free hand to fight as she wills.
Short Bio: Heralding from the northern regions within Wall Maria, Russell and his family had plenty of time to evacuate after the breach of Maria. Like many from the largely farming communities from which they originated they sound found that their skills were in large surplus. Most of the refugees were put into the fields for manual labour, regardless of skill or knowledge and there was no space for a family who had lost everything to rebuild their life on a new farmstead.
His parents were both sent out to 'take back Maria', the disastrous expedition that's only success was to allow those who remained to have a decent meal once a day. Left with his sister, only a year younger than himself, and no work to support them, Russell enrolled in the cadets to earn a steady pay check of which all he sent back to his sister, Margaret. He always had a tough body from years working in the fields and it served him well in the hand to hand combat training and the endurance exercises but he struggled with the gear to begin with and even now is a little slow in its use even if, technically at least, he's an accomplished user of the device now.
Personality: No-nonsense, serious and desperate to live but not a coward - he just hasn't given up yet.
Short Bio: From Orvud District and a relatively wealthy family, Helen is an unusual specimen in the cadets. Her family are merchants but her father, the current head of the family company, served in the Military Police from where he made his connections (and dubiously makes a great deal of his business) decreed that all of his offspring should have some experience of a soldier's life. This was not through any sense of duty, he merely felt that the harsh training would instil some backbone into his children who enjoyed a very plush an easy life, on the back of his success.
Helen hated the cadets. She had never had to work hard in her life, especially not physically, but she worked hard and refused to admit defeat, eventually surviving the process of turning her into a soldier. Slight of build but fast and quick-witted, she excelled in obstacle courses and the use of the gear although she struggled with complex manoeuvres and has no strength to speak of.
Personality: Stubborn when her back is against the wall but otherwise easygoing to the point of being lazy. Doesn't like to get her hands, or any part of her for that matter, dirty, if she can help it.
Short Bio: Greg is a fairly effeminate young lad, with blond hair a little longer than most male styles and with angular cheekbones giving him a slightly feminine appearance. As a result he was often bullied and sought out protectors rather than friends although they often came in the same form. Away from Shiganshina when the attack happened, Greg lost his aunt whom he had been staying with but had enough inheritance to manage for a time without too much struggle. He joined the cadets since he had few other skills he could use and soon found he had some ability with the Gear.
During the mountain hike he twisted his ankle and was unable to escape the avalanche. Lauren's intervention saved his life, her injury a direct result of his own and he still feels that he is in her debt.
Personality: An eternal optimist and desperate to befriend everyone around him, Greg is a gentle person with little to no rage or anger within him. He does not hate Titans but choose to fight because of the threat they pose to others.
Short Bio: Fleur is the fourth female child of a well to do family from the capital. Due to the significant length of the line of succession she was expected to inherit nothing and so needed to find a career for herself. The usual solution for young men and women in her position was to push them into the cadets and then use connections to find them a place within the Military Police, regardless of their end of training rankings thanks to family connections.
Fleur went as expected and joined the cadets but found the training, the will to fight of those around them and the joy of being something actually important of more interest than the political games of the rich families in the capital. Spurning her parents' attempts to move her into the Military Police, she graduated and plans to join one of the other divisions on her own merit.
Personality: Determined to make something of herself and prove she isn't just another girl from a rich family, Fleur is focused on her goal of advancing and will fight as hard as any to survive. Although the hatred her fellows bear towards the Titans is not her own she has taken the emotion to heart and has assumed their dreams to retake Wall Maria.
Name: Emil Burton Nickname (if any): None Age (age after two year timeskip): 17 Height: 160cm (5'2") Weight: 59kg (130lbs)
Short Bio (pre-colossal titan): Abandoned at birth, Emil grew up in the care of an orphanage within the Shiganshina district. Being taught to read and write at a young age by the caretakers of the orphanage as well as being fed regularly, apart from being an orphan Emil grew up a relatively normal life. Once old enough to be allowed to leave the orphanage during the day on his own Emil began to fall in with the older crowd of kids that he lived every day with. They made games of chasing one another through the streets and between the crowds at markets, and as Emil got more comfortable with the city and the older boys he began to follow them on the less acceptable activities they enjoyed outside the orphanage.
Emil learned to pick pockets from the older boys, quickly falling into stealing purses and change from the pockets of market goers in order to buy snacks and sweets for himself and his friends. On top of the pick-pocketing the older boys also began to show Emil how it was that they managed to get away from people so easily if they were caught. By using the buildings to their advantage. After years of running on rooftops and climbing around Shiganshina Emil developed an amazing sense of spacial awareness, able to judge distances and speeds required to make jumps from one roof to another as easily as second nature and being acutely aware of anything that he could use to his advantage in moving through the rooftop and alleyway environments that he spent most of his time in outside of the orphanage.
Following the attack on Wall Maria, Emil was separated from his group of orphans and ended up living on the streets of a city within wall Rose, pick pocketing to survive. He was caught by the Stationary Guard two years later and was given the choice of either serving time in a state run jail making big rocks into smaller rocks or join the military. He chose the military, figuring that a life breaking rocks was worse than running with the low possibility of being eaten alive.
Personality: Emil meets many of the core facets to be considered, psychologically, an introvert. Preferring solidarity over company and the peace of his mind over the musings of others. This is not to say that he doesn't like people, he is actually a very amiable person. Easy to talk to and can be considered a friend by most who know him, he would just prefer after a long day of interacting with others that he is left to himself. He actively attempts to avoid confrontations, and is never the one that will be stepping in to break them up, in fact he is more likely to be the one to simply melt into the background and disappear which has been noted as a possible factor that may cause problems in his future military career in regards to possible cowardice and in the worst case, desertion.
Squad 9 Squad 9 is one of the more dependable Squads of the Garrison stationed within Trost, with a high level of teamwork and a track record of being frequently used to cover the entrance and exit of the Survey Corps from the district along with a handful of assists under their belt with the help of other more experienced Squads, Squad 9 is considered to be one of the elite within Trost. They are listed under the plan for if the Colossal Titan appears in the district as an interchangeable squad, experienced enough to help lead the desperate defense that will take place in the Vanguard and to help boost morale of the soldiers stationed there, or elite enough to be placed in the Rear Guard to catch any Titans that slip past the first two lines.

Hair Color: Light Brown

Lukas was born in the Karanese District on the Eastern edge of Wall Rose. The third child of his parents Julian and Katharina Greiser, Lukas grew up living a rather uninteresting life with his family in Karanese.
Unfortunately Lukas seemed to gain the least useful traits when compared to his two older siblings, Lea and Jonas who were not only gifted in their school work but always seemed to be respectful and willing to help with any chores around the house. Lukas on the other hand was constantly finding himself in trouble with his teachers, shirking chores, and being generally disrespectful to his family and elders much to the dismay of his parents. As Lukas grew his problems only worsened, as he frequently skipped school and snuck out of the house to wonder the streets of Karanese until his parents had finally had enough of his disrespectful nature and did what they thought best to straighten their youngest child out.
They signed him up to join the military. At the time it seemed like a perfectly sane idea. There was no way their under-achiever of a son would land in the top ten in order to embarrass the family in the inner-cities, and there was no way in hell the boy would willing join the Survey Corps after being forcefully enlisted, and that was if he made it through the tough three year training regiment. They had figured he would likely drop out of the training and return home, beaten into obedience and with a new outlook on just how fortunate he was. But these hopes did not go quite as planned.
Lukas ended up making his way through all three years of training, coming out a changed person, far more obedient than before and with a new outlook on just how fragile life could be after learning of the Titans true nature throughout his three years training. Although not top ten in the class, he did manage to score rather well and was seen as a cadet that would be a capable soldier which in turn drew the eyes of the Survey Corps. In true Lukas fashion he shot down the eager offer from the Scouts to join them and instead joined the Garrison, where he ended up being stationed in the Krolva District on the East of Wall Rose from 839 to 844 when he is transferred to Shiganshina.
For the next year Lukas spent his time getting to know many of the Garrison members stationed in Shiganshina and had even taken a bet to dangle with his maneuver gear mere meters above the Titans hands, of which he won, and also found himself up against a military tribunal for reckless use of military assets. He did not win the tribunal and was demoted over the incident with a forfeiture of pay. Although this never ended up going through the proper bureaucratic lines as the fall of Shiganshina was just a few weeks after his tribunal ended.
Present for the revival of Hell on Earth that was Shiganshina after the wall was destroyed, Lukas found himself facing down the Titans with a squad he was still relatively new to and people that were less than enthusiastic to throw their lives away at the hands of the Titans, of which Lukas wholeheartedly agreed. However his squad pressed the attack, manning to down two titans before losing three of their own to an abnormal Titan. Lukas and his surviving teammate made a hasty withdrawal to the wall and were witness to the destruction of the inner gate by the Armored Titan. From there they evacuated from Shiganshina to Wall Rose via horse.
In the following years Lukas has found himself permanently stationed in the district of Trost. His experiences in Shiganshina found him change even more as a person, taking on his care for the lives of those around him as he saw just how easy it was to lose such things and how easily they were taken for granted while they were right in front of you. In the year 847 Lukas has settled down with his wife Lena in the middle of Trost, close to the Headquarters building and they are currently trying for a child.
Personality: Blunt and caring don't tend to be two words that are put in the same sentence, and yet that is how the majority of Lukas's squad would describe him. He shows genuine concern for the well-being of his soldiers, whether it be from problems at home, within the military, or just life in general, Lukas is the squad leader that will go out of his way to offer his help and support in whatever it is that is going on with his soldiers as well as random soldiers around him. Although this is where the blunt part of his description comes into play. Lukas does not tread lightly in what he says, instead jumping right to the point no matter if it may not have been the most surgical way of going about things, which depending on the situation may land Lukas with some angered looks or a black eye.
Not one to shy away from friendly conversation or banter, Lukas enjoys the company of others and will actively seek out interesting conversation in order to keep himself entertained thanks to his short attention span when not doing work.

Hailing from a town just outside of and to the South of the District of Stohess, Evi was born the only child to her two parents Elizabeth and Trevor Edwards. She grew up in a rather quiet town, where all the kids went to school, there was work for all the adults, and the threat of titans seemed to be a world away from how they lived. Throughout her schooling the girl didn't have very many friends, as her distrusting nature and harsh tones tended to send most of the kids running. But she did make close friends with a boy named Martin Flynt.
The two grew up together, fighting off bullies and spending most of their spare time with the other. Until one day they finished their schooling and were left with the important decision of deciding what they would do for a living. Martin suggested joining the military, to get out of their small town and see the rest of the world, to live in a never-ending adventure. Call it childish optimism or the blissful ignorance of their early lives in such a safe area but Evi agreed and the two enlisted in the military much to the dismay of their parents.
At the age of thirteen both Evi and Martin found themselves thrust into the cruel world of being soldiers. Their experiences in boot camp far harder than they had ever expected, and their hometown location from so close to Wall Sina brought many unwanted looks and unwelcome fights from those who lived farther out in the walls. However the two persevered and graduated training together, with her scores not high enough to be in the top ten and with neither of them being quite enthusiastic enough to join the Survey Corps both opted to join the Garrison.
Evi and Martin ended up being stationed together in Trost and were present to help with the massive influx of refugees when Wall Maria fell. Since the fall of Wall Maria the Garrison has stepped up its training and increased the quality of its soldiers in preparation for when the Colossal Titan makes another appearance. Evi has benefited greatly from Garissons "revival" after the fall of the wall, greatly honing her skills with her 3DMG and becoming the most skilled with it in her squad. The training in preparation for the Colossal Titan to reappear have also seen her and Squad 9 gain a high level of teamwork with one another.
Personality: Evi is hard to get to know. Tending to be openly hostile to those that have yet to gain her trust or respect and pushing them away from her in the process, making it even harder to become close to her. For those that do gain her trust she is a nice enough person to be around, even if her comments come off as snarky and condescending she truly means no harm, it's just how she has always spoken. The pessimist of Squad 9, she isn't afraid to voice her concerns on anything that she doesn't think will go well, which tends to be just about anything the men in the squad can cook up. Stats:

Born to parents Samuel and Erika Flynt in the same town as Evi Edwards, Martin grew up an easy life with just one younger brother. He attended school and made great friends with the girl that all the rest seemed to shy away from, being able to see through her hard outer shell and reach to the person within.
The two fought bullies, jumped in creeks, and ran through the woods together until it came time to graduate. Taking a page from Evi's book of unpredictability Martin suggested to the girl that they join the military, to see the world outside of their small town and to go on what would be a rather interesting adventure to tell people about when they were older. Much to his surprise Evi agreed, and the two shipped off to the Cadet Corps together. Scoring high enough in the class to land as number ten of the top ten, Martin was urged to join the Military Police by many of his fellow cadets, but instead opted for the Garrison in order to not be separated from Evi.
Stationed with Evi in Trost following their graduation, Martin was witness to the refugee crisis that followed the fall of the walls and was almost selected as one of the many soldiers that left Wall Rose to escort the suicidal culling of the populace by the crown that was the failed attempt at reclaiming Wall Maria.
Since then the Garrison has stepped up its commitment to the people within the walls and has once again joined the Scouting Legion as the only two reliable branches of the military. Martin has made massive gains in his teamwork since the Garrison began its frequent training for if the Colossal Titan ever reappears and as of now works extremely well with Squad 9, and even better so with Evi.
Personality: Martin is not a confrontational person, avoiding arguments and fights as much as he can, but when he is pulled into one or is forced to fight he has no reservations to do so. Friendly and easy to interact with, he is the exact opposite of his long time friend and squad mate Evi. Seen as the calm to Evi's storm Martin tends to be the one to deescalate situations she is involved in or even explain to others what Evi is trying to convey with her harsh words. The mediator of Squad 9, Martin is level-headed and willing to try out just about anything that falls within the realm of possibility when it comes to ideas from the other guys. Stats:

Born to a concubine of a rather rich merchant in the District of Yarckel located on the Western edge of Wall Sina, Fathi grew up with all his expenses paid for by an unknown father and with an education that only the rich of the inner wall could truly afford. It is this upbringing that has left Fathi essentially blinded to the cruel reality of the world he lives in, and as such he has remained woefully ignorant to the struggles of surviving against the Titans.
Once he was done with his basic education, his mother, Amira, told him that his father had already set aside enough money for him to attend university and get a degree, Fathi instead went against the wishes of his Mother and decided to venture off into the world to try and figure out who his father was. He searched for months, living off the money that he had stolen from his home as he searched. Eventually he ended up in Western most district of Wall Rose, Krolva. But he didn't find his father. His money running out Fathi turned back toward Yarckel, making it as far as the gate that stood in between wall Rose and Wall Sina but was turned away when he was unable to produce a travel permit or any sort of identification that proved he was in fact a citizen of the inner wall.
His home just on the other side of a fifty meter wall, Fathi decided to survive in the town on the other side of the gate as a drifter, working odd jobs in order to feed himself before he was picked up by a military police patrol and labeled as an illegal inhabitant of Wall Rose due to his lack of documents. Caught in a never-ending cycle of misunderstandings Fathi ended up being forced into the service of the crown as a soldier in order to gain his documents through service.
Fathi graduated near the middle of his cadet class, despite his want to make the top ten to be able to go back to his mother in Wall Sina he was unable to perform high enough to do so. He was assigned to the district of Trost in the Garrison there, and was put into the service of Squad 9. Having been still in training during the fall of Wall Maria, Fathi did not witness the ensuing crisis of refugees or how the crown decided to deal with the population that was sucking the land dry. But he has been there long enough to hone his skills and become proficient in working with the rest of his Squad.
Personality: Upbeat and optimistic, Fathi; or Fa as the rest of Squad 9 calls him; is the happiest of Squad 9. He has yet to witness anyone devoured by titans, and has only fought them on one occasion to cover the Scouting Legion leaving Trost (Even then in a position of support and not direct combat) when the Garrison was forced to take down a single Titan to allow them to leave. As such he remains optimistic of their chances to beat the Titans and even upbeat that they can do it easily since the Garrison easily triumphed against a single Titan. His optimism may be misplaced and misguided, and the rest of the squad knows this, but it helps to breath some happiness into the squad and is as such welcomed by his squad mates.

Personality If there were two ways that Grant could sum himself up with, he'd most likely choose his natural talent to deliver humour or his not-so-natural ability to ride horses. Whether or not either of them are fully true is up for debate, but that doesn't stop him from being the light of the party when needed. Being someone who needs material for such banterous remarks as his own, Grant found himself constantly feeling the need to keep an update on everything that is going on, something that may flaw his future. It keeps him occupied if he wanders throughout crowds to fantasise over the latest news. However, if there is one rule he knows to abide by, he can tell if any humorous remarks are necessary, and can remain serious to situations not considered a laughing matter.
From his early introduction to horses, Grant can be considered a quick-thinker; his ability to keep his wits about whilst in motion had been noted by his uncle, though he stated there was much progress to be taken at the time of the note's creation. With small groups of friends, Grant can be seen as a comforting boy, due to the nurturing of animals from his home, often ensuring they all receive any relief of tension whenever it is needed. Some of the kids said it's his most likeable trait, but Grant can be quick to deny it.
Background Not too far from the edges of Wall Maria, a small town claimed itself as Grant's birthplace and early home, where most of the few settlers worked around farming and trading around the entire circumference of Wall Maria. Originally hailing from the West, reasons that were unexplained to Grant resulted in him having to leave on a 'Business Trip' with his Uncle, Mateo Judas. His father remained back at the town, stating that someone needed to ensure that all of the trading caravans were kept in order and the stallions were kept in line during their long tour. It confused him as to why no one else came, but that never struck his mind. The next year of his life would be an amazing and exciting experience.
The pair followed a clockwise pattern, starting on the Western District, to the Northern, Eastern and concluding on the Southern District. Between each district was a difficult journey, but it picked up the chance for Grant to further progress his skills in horse-riding. One of the lead stallions, a black thoroughbred named Rhys, soon became Grant's prize possession, enjoying any galloping trips along the way. Whereas it became apparent that he wasn't to do much in any of the trades, any free time he had was either spent socialising with the current district's inhabitants, hearing amazing tales from other citizens or generally galloping around the streets whenever he could. During his stay in the Northern District, one caravan trader's son, Luca Isina, took the liberty to giving him the nickname 'Swifty', due to the speed Rhys could provide for Grant. Luca, more specifically, was a close friend of Grant during his stay. They were so close that Luca eventually snuck away from his own caravan and into Grant's, soon hitchhiking on their journey around the walls. The two picked up an interest in learning about the Military Branches, where they grew and excitement and lust for information seeking telling more tales of bravery to the children.
The two remained friends all the way to the Shiganshina District, where they planned on storming around the streets on horseback whilst Mateo delivered his final trading deal. Why waste the opportunity? The two were only going to be staying in the area for a short time. Well, they'd have to get permission from the Stationary Guardsmen within the area, but with their interest in their branches and military backgrounds, they'd get along fine enough for them to look the other way. Grant knew that this was going to be the greatest conclusion to their trip, and when he would return, he could pursue a life within the walls with a promising career. At least, that was the plan...
He was in the wrong place at completely the wrong time. Everything had gone downhill, from his evidently clear detachment from his home, permanently, to the Fall of Shiganshina. He was there, at that time, split from Luca and Mateo temporarily due to nearly sacrificing himself to two girls by the name of Jade and Olivia. When giving his horse to them, a Titan was within seconds of grabbing a hold of the boy, before the localised soldiers came to his aid. As an inspiring moment, and from his desires as a Scout in the past, he enlisted with Olivia eventually in the years to come.
Training was a tedious time for Grant, as his was spent mostly alone in comparison to every other cadet. Bonds were formed, such as the one between Tanner and Gabriel, with Olivia distancing herself from him by creating new bonds of her own. Spending most of his life as a lone son on a farm outside of the walls, socialising was never his forte, and now knowing that Luca's life had been claimed by illness, Grant felt as if he was overall alone during his training sessions. The only benefits of this was that he was able to sharpen his skills in the fine arts and fully focus on the theoretical stages of the training months. He had developed a fondness of both drawing and singing, intentionally using his "Alone-time" to practice in both simultaneously. However, being gifted with a voice like his didn't make the training any easier.
One area in the physical side of training that he excelled in was the use of ODM gear. He found that his practice prematurely with his Uncle, Mateo, had paid off, and his balance became his greatest strength. The ability to quickly assess the area and predict routes wasn't the best of the Training Corps, but it was enough to get him into the top ten position, finishing at a very outstanding 8th place. Whether or not it was higher enough to let him survive the war on Titans was unclear, very unclear...

Personality Despite being one of the more recognised and respected soldier's amongst the Scouting Legion, Mateo isn't as strict off-duty as some might expect. His upbringing and experience with travelling has left him to be quite a sociable individual, which strengthens the bonds he has with those who he commands. Whereas the advantages of building these relationships improves the performance of fighting and working as one squad, it can also bring personal sorrow when it comes to the death of any of his own comrades. Mateo has been used to the sight of death since the start of his service, but the personal losses take their tolls in privacy. Seeing a commanding officer breaking down is noted as one of the more horrific sights in any combat situation, so controlling his emotions is a skill he's been forced to take.
Mateo can be focused, almost completely, when being put upon tasks. Having partaken in some of the more exclusive and classified operations the Survey Corps have slipped under the noses of the public, the elite has found himself to understand all the possible dangers that lurk outside the walls and all the anomalies that they might encounter. Towards the younger and newer soldiers, he can seem quite protective, but also disciplinary towards their progress. Every soldier counts, so he sets his mind to seeing them all through each mission. Time and time again, the spirit of his work ethic has bagged him a great reputation, right up until his temporary discharge, throughout the multiple branches. However, since his temporary discharge, his copings as a leader have somewhat diminished, making him almost dependent on the team rather than his own decision making.
Background Mateo was born many years after his older brother was, his mother being quite old and weak to look after him. Because of this, both Mateo and his brother Johan forged a strong brotherly bond that was almost impossible to break. The two were fantastic as a duo, always helping one another around the farm as both Johan and himself learnt to take care of their elders with success and dignity. As they grew up, however, the first signs of separation and conflict were afoot when Mateo decided what he wanted as a career. Every month, an expedition of saddled soldiers would ride past their home, sometimes stopping to see how they were and tell tales of their stories. The young boy was almost instantly intrigued and captured in the wonders of the walls and their commitment to protecting it. It filled him with courage and the lust for service, which easily conflicted Johan's opinions. Through the fear of losing his younger brother, Johan almost halted the dreams of Mateo in order to protect him from any harm; however, that didn't stop the boy from making his way come true. Mateo ran away, like any boy would do, shortly after his Mother's death, where he fled to the walls in seek for a purpose in life. No longer did he want to wait for the harvest to flourish, that was his brother's bidding to commit to.
The years passed, and through his training years, he excelled in the arts of ODM maneuverability and balance. This became his reason for success, and acted as a catalyst for his uprising. Ranking an impressive status of #2 in his training programme, he quickly denied the opportunity to serve in the Military Police in order to pursue his original and initial purpose for enlisting in the first place. Soon enough, he flew into the ranks of the Scouting Legion, eager to get the experience required to excel through life.
Mateo served an impressive deal of expeditions and side-jobs during his service, building a name for himself in defending the flanks of the expeditionary formation. After a misconception with the commander at the time, his superior could never pronounce the surname of Julius properly when reading it out on paper, causing him to shorten it to 'Jutt'. The reasons for this decision were strictly unknown, but it instantly stuck as a nickname, almost always replacing his initial surname. Eventually, as time passed onwards, Mateo was called up by his CO to partake in several small-scale reconnaissance operations involving scouting regions that weren't encountered on major expeditions. Eventually forging his way into a specialised Squad, he took part in some more dangerous operations, involving watching Titan groupings and Herds moving along the hills of the horizon. The squad were good, great even, with their reputation of doing the bidding of whatever officer wished. However, the glory was short-lived, and after a horrific decision making from Mateo and two of his fellow comrades, most of the Squad weren't to return, resulting in a temporary discharge. Shameful and weakening as it was, he took the two years off to return to his hometown, seeking shelter and a place to stay.
His brother was more than happy to see him alive, but was still against his decision, having only seen him for the first time in years. The nephew that Mateo had left behind was now more mature, grown up and active as a child. Mateo took the time to get back into the gears of looking after the nephew, helping him grow up the way that Johan had shown him. Forging a strong relationship with him, he mused as to why his older brother had chosen his spouse's surname after their marriage. It was later revealed that the change was due to the shame that Mateo had brought unto the family, causing many family disputes over the months he spent living there. During his final year, Mateo was tasked with making money in a large-scale trading run across the entire wall's perimeter. Originally disagreeing to it, a violent clash between Mateo and his brother forced him to take Grant and leave for the trading route in fear that the violence may also be inflicted across to Grant. The two continued their journey in almost solitary, not hearing a single word from the family back at home.
It was during their last district on the tour where Mateo witnessed the Colossal Titan breach the walls, catching him off guard quicker than anything had ever done before. Even with the experience he had, the sight was quite terrifying, but the panic had almost neglected any signs of finding Grant. With panic, he searched the streets in sheer worry of losing his only loving member of his family. Before long, he was ushered out of the way, towards the gates, where he hoped to link up with his nephew as soon as he could. Luckily, the two managed to briefly meet at Wall Rose's safety, where they lived together for a short amount of time. Out of thin air, Mateo was once again called up for service earlier than expected, being dragged back into the uniform he was punished from wearing once before.
The years during Grant's training were mostly kept quiet for Mateo. He was once again enlisted to the expeditions, and became a supporting leader for several squads at a time. His time of service and valour eventually granted him the honours of becoming a Lance Corporal, where he would gain command of small groups himself, usually those who were fresh out of training. This was where he excelled further, and would continue onwards to produce some great soldiers again and again, until the time he would once again reunite with the family member he was split from in Trost.

Life was jovial for the Kingsly clan when they announced to the world the arrival of their first daughter; Mora. Though it wasn't long that the firey headed got would prove to be just as stubborn and rowdy as her six elder brothers. Mora shirked her mother's lessons in favor of following her father to his work. The boys all followed in their fathers footsteps. Fine craftsmen who built houses for the fine people of Shiganshina and while her home was filled with love and warmth. Little Mora craved something different.
She wanted to make her family proud and what better way than to enlist when she came of age? She was already stronger than most kids her age. Working hard alongside her family had built solid muscles on the youth and thanks to her big brothers; there was nothing Mora feared. Be it bandit, titan or rabid dogs. Mora felt she was invincible.
Personality
Mora is a reckless spirit with a fiery soul to match her ember locks. She'll dive head first into the unknown with little fear in her heart. Of course it helped that she had her own little army of brothers by her side to help keep her safe. For what it was worth, she felt like she always just one of the boys. She was always too loud for the girls that grew up around her. Mora always talked too loud and her laugh would ring off the walls. Everything about her seemed too aggressive but she never let that bother her. She was driven by her desire to join the military and what Mora set her sights on she rarely ever let it go.
Personality: Lively and upbeat, Olivia isn't known to be a slacker. She's the one that makes sure that everyone is up bright and early in the morning and tucked in bed at a certain time. While her boldness and cheekiness can be frustrating to deal with at times, Olivia honestly means the best. She wants to make sure that others around her are just as light on their feet as she is; she dislikes seeing people getting in trouble for being late or being sloppy. Olivia appreciates conversation and banter, and tries her hardest to form relations with people she sees potential in. However, this can prove difficult at times due to her explosive personality.
Short Bio: As the first-born within her family, Olivia was a child raised with high expectations. While her mother was always kind to her, it was her father who wanted her to succeed and be the best at whatever she did. Olivia never really saw her father much as he was a member of the Survey Corps; the few times that she did see him, however, he always motivated her. Even at a young age, the heroic stories about him made Olivia become starry-eyed about the Survey Corps, and she promised herself that she would one day join its ranks.
Her mother was not keen on the idea. She tried to dissuade Olivia from enlisting and instead focus on becoming a florist much like herself. Although the comfortable lifestyle prevented her from worrying about much, Olivia found the life she was living in Shiganshina rather boring. It was rather concerning when her mother realized that her daughter's dreams did not change as she grew older. Even though she has not seen her father for a long time, Olivia thinks of him as her hero, and aspires to become exactly like him.
Nickname: Even though he deeply dislikes nicknames, some call him Tobi
Age: Eighteen
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 156 lbs
Faction: Garrison
Personality: A condescending prick. A show off. Someone who has something to prove. These are the words that several may describe Tobias with. Truly believing that he does not belong where he is, he seeks to prove his mettle. This makes him a very difficult person to be around; Tobias is convinced that he is better than all of the men and women in the Garrison, often making such a state of thought rather obvious. He is an arrogant and agitated young man that bears a loose tongue-- if something is on his mind, he will say it, no matter what.
One may be wondering how Tobias has remained in the Garrison for so long. Despite his hostile attitude, the young lad is fiercely determined and seeks to reach every single one of his goals. Extremely loyal to the few he places above him, he stands firm in the face of transgression.
Short Bio: The son of a baker, Tobias was always groomed to inherit his father's business. It was not something that he had planned for his life, nor did he look forward to it. He was raised to behave properly and mostly spent his time helping his father run the business. His mother usually just kept to taking care of the household, and was a major part of his life. That was, until she became pregnant. When his brother, Caspian, was born, Tobias was pushed to the size. For a time, he was pleased with not receiving as much as attention as before, and spent much of his off-time exploring the streets of Shiganshina. While it was difficult to make friends, he cared mostly about seeing and meeting new people; Tobias was seen so often that he even interacted a large amount of times with the Garrison.
When Tobias was fourteen years old, he developed a passion for the military. His father was not pleased with such a fact, telling him that if he enlisted, he would be disowned and he would never be allowed to return home. On his fifteenth birthday, that was exactly what Tobias did-- and his father promptly wanted nothing else to do with his first-born soon. Caspian was to inherit the bakery when his father was no longer apt and Tobias was left without a family.
Training was tough for Tobias. But the boy pushed himself to no end, striving to prove himself worthy to the military. His goal was evident. Get the top ten and make it into the Military Police. He would no longer have to depend on anyone to help him, and he promised himself that even if his father showed up begging for forgiveness, he would not even glance his way.
The most difficult three years of his life passed. Tobias, now eighteen, expected to graduate in the top ten of his class. He strived in nearly every subject, dominating most of his classmates. He bled and sweat for the chance of redeeming himself. But reality hit him like a sack of bricks; apparently, there were ten other people who were much better than him. Distraught, Tobias struggled to settle into the ranks of Wall Maria. Much like training, he only worked with the others if absolutely necessary and isolated himself from any extreme social interaction.
Things only became worse when Shiganshina was attacked by the massive creature known as the colossal titan. Tobias fought to his full potential alongside some other members of the Garrison. Even though he made it safely beyond the walls of Wall Rose, he had been horrified at what he saw. The deaths of innocent people. The deaths of the one or two comrades he had gotten close to.
It was then that he made a promise: he would never stand off to the side again. He would never be cowardly. If it meant giving up his life in order to make some difference in the war against the titans, Tobias would do so without a second thought.
Age • 11 pre-titan attack • 13 after two year time skip/enlisting • 16 after completing training
Height 5'3" at full height
Weight 115 lbs
Brief Bio Growing up as a single child, Jade had always gotten her way around with her parents and lived a fairly normal life in Shiganshina. She helps her parents out in their bakery during the times that she was not busy running errands for them or doing chores at their home, which is located closer to the inner part of their village. Often times she sneaks out to sit by the water way and watch the flow out into the world.
Personality Outspoken, the majority of the time. Jade will voice her opinion regarding if there's something that she likes or doesn't like. She can be a hot-head, since her entire life she has practically been handed everything and is not used to being told no. Regardless of her being hard and hot headed, she can show that she cares but in her own way. Tough love is one way to put it. She's sassy and witty but Jade means well and doesn't often aim to offend.

- BIOGRAPHY - Born into a hard working family, Sano Takeshi's childhood was blurred by the time spent ensuring the safety of the citizens of Shinganshina. His ability to walk was seen as his readiness for labor, working on the walls that protected the world from the titans that roamed its exterior. The Takeshi family was a generation of builders, tasked with keeping the walls of Maria as strong and secure as humanly possible. Hired by the Royal Government as contractors, payment was sufficient for the family of four to live a fair life. They were tax exempt and seen as privileged by other tenants, but their family's determination to keep their neighbors safe shadowed those people's envious thoughts.
Asuma Takeshi - head of the family - taught his two children, Sano and Ignos to be men who lead by example, just like the generations before him. They were taught to speak the truth and not fear the spotlight to guide others by example. The two boys were hard workers from birth and adamant to keep the family name as honorable as ever. They were respectful to all women and older civilians, defying the stereotype that clouds privileged families. Though every man in the Takeshi family were separated by specific characteristics.
- PERSONALITY - Sano Takeshi is a motivated and responsible individual. He strives towards his goals with courage and strong will. With high spirits, he is able to uplift the morale of those around him - even if he sometimes comes off as annoying. Despite this, he tends to be very serious and strict, not finding it efficient to stray from a set plan/mission. He is courageous and tends to put the needs/safety of others before his own.

His father was a textile merchant and his mother a seamstress and tailor. Connor learned none of either of his parents trade, but instead trained to one day join the scouts. He heard his father always talk about how much he wished he could be better in life, so Connor decided that he would rise above his parent's low-class lives and because a defender of humankind. While he is physically capable, he was nothing impressive in terms of ability or skill, but he did prove to be a very fast runner, though not particularly strong for his age and size. Connor lived a completely normal life until the Colossal Titan changed the world forever.
Personality: Connor is a very good teammate and can follow orders when he needs to. However, in some situations, he is willing to give a shot a leading a group if the circumstances call for it.
