"That's awesome, we have a place like that. Delancey Street Restaurant. It's in South Beach district and the food is amazing!"

As the sun began to warm the car, Ele rolled down the window and kicked off her shoes before laying back and putting her bare feet out the window. Leaning on the center console, Ele pulled out her phone and took a picture of her feet, the bright blue sky, and the truck.

"I'm putting this one on Instagram! It's like a scene from a movie!"

She gushed, turning the camera towards Tyler,

"Smile!"

"Hey, I've heard of Delancey."

He says looking over at her.

"I didn't know they hired ex cons though."

Hearing Ele ask him to smile he licks his lips and does his most random face, turning 1 eye in and leaving the other straight. Giving a goofy smile.

That made Ele laugh as she took the picture, then nodded as she leaned back again, closing her eyes as they cruised,

"Substance abusers, ex-convicts, homeless... You name it. The best part is, is that its not just a convict kitchen, it's a clean and sober living home too. Residents agree to stay for at least two years, earn their GED, and work to gain skills through the foundation. Then, when they complete those, they can either keep staying on and work or move on. Most choose to stay, and they are given other people to mentor. It's a great program."

"That is awesome."

He keeps driving through town coming up to an unusual intersection, he turns left coming around a bend in the road and a second bend at a light going right. He drives for quite a ways coming up to a main road. He turns left and turns on the cruise control having another 12 miles to go.

"Relaxing time again."

"How do you manage to stay awake on these long stretches?"

Ele asked, her eyes still closed and her feet bouncing along to the beat of the song on the radio. The sun felt good on her legs as it came through the window,

"That's one of the benefits of the city, awesome public transportation systems. No need to drive, just hop on the subway or bus and you can do whatever you want!"

"Doing stuff like this."

He gives the truck a little extra gas, shoving them both back in the seat. The supercharger on it, screaming bloody murder. He gets off the gas and coasts down.

The sudden change in speed made Ele curl up in her seat, pulling her feet in quickly and laughing as her hair was whipped loose by the wind rushing in. When the truck slowed again, Ele laughed and put her feet back out the window and reached up to fix her hair,

"You maniac! That was so fun though!"

He drives for a while, finally arriving in Hale. The town very quiet and almost dead, only a few vehicles being out and about. He pulls up to the dealership. He drives around the side and parks, not knowing where the car would be at. He shuts the truck off and hops out, looking around for the car.

As they pulled into the town, Ele rolled up the window and put her shoes back on. It was so quiet here, and Ele got the goosebumps. A shiver went up Ele's spine and she watched as Tyler got out of the truck. Not wanting to be alone, or leave Tyler alone, Ele hopped out as well and came up next to Tyler,

"Why's it so quiet here?"

"School day and 40% of the population are school age kids. Another 10% are teachers."

He chuckles and begins walking up to the office area when he is greeted from behind them.

"Welcome, is there anything I can help you find?"

The dealer asks as he walks up.

"Yes, I am looking for your wrecked rx8."

"Ah yes. We have it in our shop right now just down the street. We are getting the oil changed in it right now and making sure the car is in tip top shape."

"Ah alright."

"We will have it back in about 20 minutes."

"Okay, the tweaked frame one right?"

"Yeah, tweaked frame. The guy that brought it to us tried getting it straightened but the shop that did it ended up doing it in."

"That isn't good but it will make for a good donor car."

"What are doing with it?"

"I am gonna put the rotary in a miata and use some of the body panels on the miata."

"Man, that will be cool. 1.8 liter 2 rotor."

"Hold up, the 1.8 2 rotor, not the 1.3?"

"Yup, the guy opted for the 1.8 instead."

He smirks and nods.

"Even better."

He looks over at Ele and motions for her to come closer.

Startling at the sudden appearance of the owner behind them, Ele squeaked and spun quickly to face him. Taking a half step behind Tyler, Ele hid herself slightly, wary of the man. She listened closely to the exchange then slid under Tyler's arm from behind to be by his side when he motioned for her,

"What's up?"

She asked, her eyes looking around them, her face emotionless and body tense. It was her distrustful nature coming through again, but this time she was holding on to Tyler.

"Bigger engine than what I had planned on so we should make even more power than we were expecting."

He smiles at her and notices her tensing up.

"You can relax babe. You are completely safe here."

Looking up at Tyler, Ele gave him an apologetic smile then looked down and tried to relax, leaning her head against Tyler's chest.

"I'm sorry,"

She said quietly,

"One of my mom's boyfriends was a used car dealer. I had to work in the office."

"It is fine, just remind yourself. You've got me."

He smiles at her rubbing her back. The dealer looks at Tyler.

"I am gonna walk down to the shop, see how much longer, let you talk some."

He leaves them and jogs down the sidewalk to the shop.

"When it gets back here we can see a working rotary up close."

He stands there and waits for the car to come back.

She stayed close to Tyler until the man came back, and the car wasn't far behind. From the outside it wasn't horrendous, but from what Tyler had said about the frame Ele knew that it was useless despite the pretty exterior,

"Its a shame its only good for parts. It's so pretty."

Ele said, loosening her hold on Tyler so he could get a closer look at the car.

"Most the parts would be useful. Can get 7 or 800 for the frame. Could also do what is called back half the car, it looks like it is tweaked in the rear. Back halving a car lets you do the back end in a tube frame which lightens it and the tube frame also is stronger than the stock frame."

He looks underneath the car and notices the frame is not just bent but it also has cracks in it. He stands up and walks to the front, popping the hood he lifts it up and sitting there is the rotary, covered by wires and plastic.

"Tiny engine huh?"

The engine not starting until halfway back in the engine compartment and only filling up about a quarter of the space side to side.

"Is that because its a 2 rotary versus a four or six?"

She asked, indicating the empty spaces, maneuvering herself so Tyler was between her and the dealer.

"Yup, the more rotors the longer it gets. This thing is physically the same exact size as the 1.3."

He looks at the engine and nods.

"This engine here will account for like half the cost of the car."

"Really?"

Her voice was shocked and Ele looked up at Tyler is surprise.

"I guess that's where the power is, so the more power, the more money."

"Not necessarily. An early 500 horsepower viper engine costs more than a 600hp 427 big block chevy. The viper for the 8 liter V10 costs 35 grand, the modern 427 big block is 27 grand. The reason this engine costs so much is because it is a technologically advanced engine. I actually got the engine in my camaro initially for 500 bucks."

He shuts the hood and looks inside, smiling seeing three pedals.

"And it is a stick shift."
