Ryoma was completely engrossed in his book, an epic tale set in a fantasy world. It was one of those books that he had read over and over again and never gotten tired of it. Every time he read it, he learned something new and it never failed to make him smile. He was so into the book that he didn't notice when someone leaned against a tree nearby. That is, until she started speaking to him and he nearly jumped out of his skin.

He thought what she had said had been quite rude, but tried not to judge her with this first impression. For all he knew she could just be grumpy. He looked up to respond to her, and almost immediately looked back down again. Girls didn't really talk to him much, especially the pretty ones. Well, Makoto did, but she was family so that was a little different. "Neither, I guess." He responded finally, looking back up at her.

"I mean, I do have confidence in the skills I have, but I really don't expect to be winning competitions. It's the first day, they don't expect us to be heroes yet. That's why we're here, to learn how to be heroes, right? The training will really start tomorrow, so I'm enjoying the time I have before then." Ryoma finished with a shrug, hoping he didn't sound rude or too awkward. At least he was able to get full sentences out. That was pretty good.

Dante let out a devilish smile. She liked this guy, Mako. She couldn't wait to fight, but she honestly did have some questions. Dante eyed the rings, they looked solid, hard, and perfect for her quirk, but she needed to be sure of something. Dante raised her hand and began to speak to the large wolfman. Obviously ready to start fighting. "what are these rings made of? I dont have to be afraid of breakin' em do I?... erm Mr.Nahino" she added on the last bit, remembering her manners.
As Dante waited for the response she looked in wonder at these arena's. Man, this was so much nicer than where she was used to fighting. Dante began to hop slightly, letting her arms fall to her sides, she was getting antsy, but oh boy, She was so PUMPED!

The American quickened his steps to the doorway, barely registering a comment from the blond student beside him. “Hell yeah, Tempo,” he muttered in English, too excited to register the green eyed student’s lack of interest. Opening up the main doors, he followed after the student his age and the pink-haired one, goosebumps crawling across his skin as the air conditioning kicked in. The day outside wasn’t a hot one, but the sun did good work to warm someone up. Inside it was brisk, the smell of bleached mats and floor polish reaching him from the doorway.Along with a small chunk of stone, which rolled to his feet? That was odd.

”Excuse me,” she said, looking up at the other students. ”My name is Tatsuko Kanashiro. I got here a little later than most I think, so I wasn’t really able to meet any new people. Would you guys mind if I tagged along with you?”

She was small. Which was interesting. Part of him wondered if that was healthy, or just part of her Quirk. Regardless, she looked friendly enough to him. ...another part of him couldn’t help but realize that she was absolutely adorable, but she probably wouldn’t appreciate that input from him. “Excellent, we’re just about to go have a sparring match! You’re welcome to come if you want.” He switched back to Japanese, fumbling a few syllables as he went. He gave her a toothy grin before moving on, seeing Eir standing at the map marked in...relatively simple language. Enough that he could see where she was pointing towards the something something “ring.” Good enough.

Dante was already moving in that direction, so he followed after. The path was a little complicated due to the sheer size of the building. The structure was odd and extended downwards into the earth, leading to a labyrinthine effect the deeper in he went. Still, chasing after the pink head of hair and the tall girl, they eventually ended up in a relatively large room filled with matching fighting pits. Not… exactly what he was used to, but he could deal with it. Still, with the howl from the large man echoing in his ears, he turned to face what he hoped would be an instructor he would spend most of his spare training time with, if location was to judge. He smiled broadly as he looked up, another trend it seemed, at the… man. He thought.

His words were simple, the expression on his face speaking volumes. “She and I would like to have a match.”

The group was able to find an elevator that led the group to the boxing rings, and then when they got there a giant wolf-man was there willing to help. Turned out that the wolf with a major nicotine addiction was a teacher and he was here in case the students needed anything. This was obviously taken advantage of by Dante and Jefferson as they both looking forward to their match. It might be awhile before the match even started, so it might make sense to explore the training facility a little bit more to stave off the boredom that will come with waiting.

He turned back towards Eir and Tempest and was surprised to see another girl with them. He might have been a little too distracted to see her even show up. Now he had to look like a jerk and ask for here name again. Definitely not the greatest way to make a good first impression. He turned toward the new girl, "Hey, I'm Iccho Matsuo. I'm sorry I missed your name before, what is it?" He played off that last question with a slight laugh to try and make the conversation less awkward, but Iccho felt that it failed miserably. He just wanted anything to distract from this situation.

"Do the rest of you guys want to take a look around while we wait for the others to get there match started? It might be a better way to pass time than just standing around looking like lost puppies." He was hopeful that his suggestion would be taken seriously since there was no we he would just stand around and do nothing on his first day one campus.

Isinui Samada

HELLO KOSEI ACADEMY!!

Those words rung out from the gate from the lone fifteen year old boy that had just exclaimed with pure exhilaration and a big smile plastered on his face. His arms were thrown up when shouting out his excitement to let any and all to know just how happy he was to be part of this school.

Samada couldn't help but be bubbly with glee; so much that his body was practically shaking, though it always did that thanks to the near endless source of energy his body created.'Whoo!! can you believe it Tetsuo?! we're finally here!'Unable to stop himself from shouting as he turned his body part-way, needing to do so what with the large backpack overstuffed with countless lunchboxes and some school supplies getting in the way of looking at his more quiet and shy cousin.'Hurry hurry! We're missing all the cool fighting and action.'He made quick punching motions in the air.

At that moment, would the spiky haired individual notice the crushed granola bar in his left hand.'Gah I crushed my snack too.'His upper body hung like one depressed, but was over in an instant for he sprung back up and started running in place with another wide, goofy grin.'Oh well, mom packed plenty..I hope she got the mixed cause I like them best, but peanut butter is good too? not surehowIfeelaboutraisinbutitsoktooIg-'Rambling on like he usually did; completely brimming with energy, moreso than usual now that they were finally at the academy famed for shooting out well known and famous superheroes.

Samada eventually drawled off as he looked around, taking in the sights of the buildings and students off in the distant going to or from class, a twinkle in his eye like that of a boy in a candy store, though he wasn't allowed candy which he hated.

Fidgeting and anxious, the oddly dressed boy, who upon close inspection sported bandages all around his body, especially his fingers, started running around Tetsuo; running backward and forward.'Lets go go go! We get to meet famous heroes and make lots of new friends.'He skidded to a stop in front of his cousin after saying the word friend.'Aren't you excited too? this is a whole new beginning for us!'Giving him a bit too hard pat on the back then turned while firmly gripping the strips of his backpack and sprung forth, running around the front schoolyard to take in the sights while making sure not to wander off to far to let his cousin catch up, nearly laughing like a madman as he did so.

Hironaka, Severa
First Impressions@NobodiesHero

Truthfully, it didn't matter how Four-Eyes answered her question, Severa wasn't going to be completely satisfied with the answer in any way. In fact, Severa had found a way to take offense to the way Four-Eyes had worded his response. Completely unnecessary offense, but offense nonetheless. Severa clenched her teeth and scowled. In the back of her head, she knew it was excessive but with her thoughts mainly dwelling on her friend being a no show. However, she couldn't help but lash out at the closest being. "That's a dumb reason, but if you want to quit early and say you aren't going to win competitions, I don't care."

Severa paused for a moment, eyeing a group of students that had suddenly burst out in laughter. "Besides, everyone is taking the time to get all chummy with one another so they can team up later. You could be doing that too instead of reading..." Severa added sternly but started to drift off towards the end of her statement. She never was the best at making friends, even before she got her temper. She was always so shy to meet new people that it felt crippling. Now, she tried to tell herself she didn't care and for the most part it worked in fooling her into thinking that.

A few awkward moments of silence descended upon the pair, Severa pretending not to notice as she glared venomously at passerbys before finally caving and chiming in again. This time, she did better in sounding halfway decent. "So... You're confident in your skills but think you'll lose, huh. Why do you say that?" Severa inquired, as she honestly didn't believe in quitter talk like that.

This girl may have been pretty, but she was irritating. Here she was insulting and judging him for his way of doing things. About how he was sitting here reading instead of training or making friends. Yet, here she was, leaning against a tree, talking at him instead of doing either of those things. If there was one type of person he hated most, it was hypocrites. Ryoma wasn't going to waste his time talking to her. He simply rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to his book.

But the next thing she said caught his attention again. Instead of throwing insults and judgements, she was now asking him why he had confidence in his skills if he knew he wasn't going to win competitions. "Neither my skills, or my Quirk, are combat oriented. A huge part of being a hero is combat related, so the competitions will be too." Ryoma responded, though he doubted she would get the concept of somebody having non combat related skills in a school for heroes. Considering how their conversation had gone thus far.

Ryoma placed the bookmark in his book and closed it. It was pretty clear that the girl wasn't going to be leaving him alone yet. "It's my turn to ask a question. Why are you here leaning against a tree rather than training or making friends?" Ryome figured that he had the right to ask the question back at her. But if things went wrong, he was still calculating his escape route. To get off the ground and in the tree would take him about ten seconds from a sitting position, and that wasn't even taking this girl's Quirk into consideration, whatever it may be. A few other plans popped into Ryoma's head as he waited for her response.

Before the group had time to go off and explore the rest of the facilities, the fight already started. Jefferson was definitely the more skilled of the two and it showed throughout the beginning of the match. However, the tides turned in Dante's favor once she whipped out her quirk. Iccho thought it was a little unfair for her to use her quirk in what was suppose to be a quirk free fight. It looked like Dante was the kind of person who would do whatever it takes to win. Maybe that kind of attitude was not exactly heroic, but it could be important when it comes to saving ones life. The fight was brought to the end by the Wolf after it seemed like Jefferson injured himself while punching Dante in the jaw. The fight told a lot about both of the fighters, and what kind of people they were. Iccho would take this information in carefully, but before he had time to fully process Mako started shouting about someone being there.

Out of nowhere a girl that seemed closer in age to the students appeared out of nowhere. This startled Iccho since he was not able to sense her presence and she was so close to the group. With that kind of ability it was safe to assume that she was another teacher at the academy. The woman, Midori, seemed to call Mako her brother. Iccho was not sure if they were actually related or if the woman was just being overly affectionate. She did a whole gesture thing when she introduced herself, it was like she was trying to hard to come off as a hero. Iccho felt more relaxed after she did that because it was clear she was nothing like any of the other teachers at this school.

"Nice to meet you Midori. I am Iccho Matsuo. I am assuming you are a teacher her, so what course will you be teaching?" Iccho felt that was a good question to ask since it will give the woman the ability to talk about herself, and also the opportunity to see what they will be learning at this school in a more in depth look. It also might also buy him some brownie points if he shows interest in whatever she says.

"Ruby Lake"

Location: Library

Convincing her parents to let her go hadn't been easy. Yet, because Kosei Academy was such a new location its reputation had neither been tarnished nor approved of. The people behind it seemed to have a good reputation, yet eventually, her parents had let her attend to get her to be silent about the matter. Ruby was not allowed to use her family name there unless she came back a smashing success, and her father had warned her that she better come back with good results to not waste time and effort on something pointless, especially not after they had allowed her to attend. However Ruby had gotten the vibe that they were expecting her to come back home crying before the week ended.

Ruby guessed that arriving by chopper weren't the stealthiest way to seem disconnected from a rich family, but at least all routes seemed to eventually lead to a train that everyone would ride no matter where they came from giving her at least a chance to slip into the crowd and not seem that special even with her rather unique appearance.

Ruby felt nervous, her hands felt shaky and she had to occasionally take deep breaths to calm her beating heart. She also felt excited, and could hardly sit still on the train. Soon she would arrive at another new location where she had not been before. And there she was supposed to stay until she came ou a full-fledged hero. It may not be a dream come true, but it was a big step on the way of making a name for herself in the world. Ruby Lake, that was what they would call her, the Dragon girl who saves the world.

The rest of the trip passed almost in a blur, and once the train came to a halt Ruby proceeded to follow the others after her bags was taken care off. Ruby felt quite happy that her bags was handled by someone, she hardly knew what her servants back home had packed for her but it was way more than what Ruby thought she would need. She followed the other students and listened to the speech at the opening ceremony before proceeding inside at her own pace while taking care not to be run down by the hasty ones.

Once past the gates, Ruby found an open area where she could stretch her wings and take flight. She used her flying ability to gain a vantage point and looked around from the top of the training center. The wind up on the roof was calming and fresh, and the breeze much stronger. Tired from even the short flight to the roof, Ruby sat down and looked towards the library. Perhaps she could go for a read, a peaceful place to spend some time. Yet it was in a rested state of mind she suddenly snapped awake from a howl that came from inside the building, it made her jump a bit and wonder what manner of creature could produce such a noise.

Yet fright rather than curiosity took hold of her and she quickly left the roof of the building to glide away from it. She headed further north and towards a large building near the main one. Landing securely, Ruby walked up to the building and looked around before taking a moment to calm herself. When she felt relaxed enough she headed inside, discovering that this building was, in fact, the library. Amazement struck her as Ruby's vision filled with literature from all over the world, rowed up neatly in bookcases taller than the ones she had at home and more of them than what she could count. The scent of a new building, new books, and floor polish filled her every sense. Ruby took a while to just take in her surroundings then once she felt ready she started walking around to explore the deeper parts of the library.

She sank down peacefully in a seat and let a nearby book fill her attention. She examined it closely before flipping through the pages, then she smiled to herself as she guessed that a person could spend all their life here and not manage to read all the books in here. She sighed as she read a few pages and just took it easy while thinking of her next course of action.

“'T-Tempo?' Well that’s quite better than 'Tempura'.” Although Jefferson was speaking English, the boy had enough sense to know what he said. Temperance shoved his hands in his pockets, only to flinch at the sound of another voice, seemingly talking to their ragtag group as a whole. Turning around, the blonde was forced to do a double take, expected to see a stranger taller than or around his height; it made sense since he was always on the smaller side. But instead, there was a much smaller girl, even smaller than Eir, now standing in front of them. He had to resist the urge to put his hands on his knees and ask her if she lost her parents, and instead flipped his hair a little and smiled.
“Hello there Miss Tatsuko...the pleasure is mine. If Lady Eir is alright with it, then obviously I’ll be. I go by Temperance Wilk, or Tempest for short.” He answered before cracking a sweet smile. It was interesting to meet another short person at Kosei, it was yet another person to add to the “Shorty Squad”, so Tempest was more than happy to gain another person with a different personality that he could learn more about.

Watching curiously, since he couldn’t keep his eyes off of her, as Eir moved on ahead, quickly finding a map, he made his way over to her, placing his hand on the shorter’s shoulder and leaning in to get a better look at the map.
“That seems simple enough. Shall we get going?”

--

The group quickly made their way to the boxing ring, or rings, thanks to Eir’s directions, and Temperance could help but let his jaw slacken for a brief moment. The room itself was quite big, even with the amount of boxing rings occupying them. His attention was soon brought to the sound of howling laughter. It was...a wolf man for lack of a better term, introducing himself as Mako Nahino and it was just as Jefferson claimed; a staff member was here waiting for them. Upon asking what they wanted, Temperance took a step back and clasped his hands behind him.

While Jefferson and Dante got their bearings together with Mr. Nahino, Tempestt’s attention was brought to Iccho, who mentioned doing some adventuring while they fought. As the blonde was about to take the other’s question to consideration, their fight had already began. In all honestly, Tempest could only stare with a slightly frightened look on his face. The way they were going on each other made the blonde hope they didn’t have to fight anytime soon. Even with his quirk, Temperance felt as if he was at an extreme disadvantage against those two muscle heads. And the end result was extremely unsettling to him...of course he’s seen videos were people have gotten injured in battle, but seeing it in real life made him uncomfortable to say the least.
Temperance watched quietly as Jefferson was taken away to get his injury tended to, only to tilt his head at the sound of a girl. The boy arched his eyebrows as his attention was guided to a new girl suddenly standing next to Iccho. Introducing herself as Midori, Tempest game an uneasy smile before waving.
“Hi there, little lass. I go by Tempest.” He introduced himself before Iccho questioned what subject she would be teaching. Although he didn’t think of the question, it was definitely something he would like to know. “And might I ask, how old are you?” He added on, tilting his head curiously.

Jefferson St. John

Location: Campus, wandering (Probably to the medical offices of some kind)
Interacting with: MC Smokesalot@Rob, Potentially: Severa@Pirouette, Ryoma@NobodiesHero

Jefferson stared blankly at his hand, knuckles leaking blood onto the stone floor. Something was being said, but he wasn’t paying attention. Standing to the side, he undid the handwraps on his right fist, gritting his teeth against the pain. He finished, greeted by the sight of two busted knuckles already swelling. As he turned his hand over a few times, the borders of his vision went gray, the world flipping end over end. After a time, he realized he was being carried, and that he was outside. Part of him wondered if he had blacked out before his reverie was interrupted by Mako’s gruff voice.

"Rushin' in with brute force is sorta my style." He calmly spoke, with his eyes focused straight ahead. "I wouldn't have stopped the fight if ya planned on usin' yer quirk." Whether or not this surprised Jefferson, Mako didn't really care. For all he knew, the American had already figured it out the moment the match had ended.

"So Blue, if ya don't mind me askin', why didn't ya use it?" Seeing a massive wolfman carrying a student around with one arm, so early in the day, would make anyone look twice. Chances of this spreading across the campus was incredibly high.

Jefferson was being carried, and as he looked up he realized people were watching. Color rising to his cheeks, he wriggled out of the wolf’s grasp. “With all due respect, my fist is broken, not my legs.” He straightened up as he landed, pulling the rest of the wraps off of his bad hand. He was normally more polite, but with his reputation on the line, it was a matter of urgency. “...Sorry. I shouldn’t have been so rude. I… Yeah.” He finished lamely, unwrapping his uninjured hand. He was obviously frustrated, but he couldn’t take that out on someone else. He was raised better than that.

Dante had done a number on him at the end of that fight. His arms were scratched to hell and back, he was already bruised from her steel fists, and his hand was steadily dripping as they walked. All told, he looked like he had been hit by a truck more than a person. Absentmindedly, the student cradled his bleeding arm as he answered the wolfman’s questions, laughing softly. “I couldn’t use my Quirk. Handwraps cover my palms and shoes cover my feet. You can't slap in boxing, anyway.” He flashed the wolfman a glimpse of the inside of his hands, a pitch black contrast against his otherwise pale complexion. “Besides, it wouldn’t make a difference. My Quirk is a little useless. Won’t clear rubble, can’t move me, and sure as hell doesn’t help in a fight. Not a fair one, anyway.”

He smiled at the stovepipe of a teacher as he said it, though the look didn’t extend to his eyes. “Besides,” he said, frowning as his gaze wandered, settling on a pair of bickering students in the direction they were wandering, sitting beneath a few of the smaller trees. “People rely on Quirks too much. The best fighter I ever knew never used hers.”

Tatsu was rather pleased to find that the group of students she had been following was willing to let her tag along with them as they searched for a boxing ring to spar in. Getting to know them and befriending them seemed like it would be a lot more fun than spending the day alone. After a few moments of introductions, the pink-haired girl who had introduced herself as Eir, exclaimed that she had found the location of the boxing ring on the map, pointing out the direction that they should start walking.

The walk to the room with the boxing rings was pretty uneventful, though Tatsu was able to catch glimpses into other rooms with a variety of training equipment as the group walked passed. Her guess that the rest of the school’s facilities would be as impressive as the outdoor training area seemed like it had been a good one so far. At the very least, it certainly seemed that they had gone all out with the training facilities, a perception that was only cemented in Tatsu’s mind as the group entered the boxing room and saw the arrangement of rings.

As Tatsu approached the main ring with her new acquaintances, the relative quiet was shattered by a loud howling. Jumping at the sound, Tatsu turned to see a massive wolfman laughing and puffing on a cigarette as he walked over to their group. Shortly after he introduced himself as Mako Nahino and asked if anyone wanted to fight, the two taller individuals in their group stepped forward to ask him questions and indicate that they wanted to spar with one another.

While the others waited for the match to begin in earnest, another boy with roughly the same hair color as Tempest stepped over to her and introduced himself as Iccho Matsuo before explaining that he missed her name. ”Oh, I’m Tatsuko Kanashiro,” Tatsu replied with a grin. ”It’s a pleasure to meet you!” She was about to agree with his suggestion that they look around for a bit before the fight began, but the fight began before she could, with the two taller members of their group stepping into the huge ring.

Though Tatsu had no experience with fighting, or any other sport really, it seemed to her that the boy with hair that her eyes saw as bluish-green was definitely going to win. No matter what the tall, dark-haired girl did, she couldn’t seem to avoid his attacks. At least, that seemed to be the case until she grabbed the ring in the corner she was backed into, her whole body becoming wrapped in metal as she clearly used her quirk. Covered in what amounted to a suit of armor, she was able to go on the offensive without worrying about any counterattacks while using her now-greater weight to deliver some devastating blows on the other fighter.

This discrepancy seemed a little unfair to Tatsu, but she felt that it was between the two fighters. If they had agreed that quirks were allowed, then she couldn’t really judge the girl for using hers, even if it did make the fight incredibly one-sided. Despite the fight being essentially over, however, the boy opted for one last punch to the girl of steel’s jaw, which of course ended with him hurting his hand and prompting Mr. Nahino to declare the match over before more injuries were inflicted.

After telling the boy to leave the ring, he spoke softly with the dark-haired girl for a few moments before hopped out of the ring himself. Shortly after he got out of the ring, he grabbed the boy and lifted him into the air like he weighed nothing, a feat that didn’t really surprise Tatsu given his massive size, before yelling at someone that they couldn’t hide from his nose and leaving. Tatsu didn’t have to question who he had been talking to for very long, as a girl dressed like a ninja appeared next to Iccho almost immediately after Mr. Nahino left the room.

A moment or two later, the girl seemed to realize that there were other people around, turning to the group and introducing herself as Midori before cheerily offering to answer any of their questions. Iccho was the first to take her up on the offer, asking her what subject she taught here at the academy, which Tatsu felt was a fairly standard question to ask. Immediately after Iccho asked his question, Tempest asked Midori how old she was, causing Tatsu to giggle slightly at the oddity of the question.

Not wanting to overwhelm Midori with questions, Tatsu waited until she had answered to two boys’ questions before speaking up. ”I’m Tatsuko Kanashiro,” she said, smiling as usual. ”I was just wondering, what all does this building offer? I imagine that there’s a lot, but could you give us a quick run-down?”

Dante was more than a little surprised that Jefferson chose to break his own hand thank use his quirk. There was no way he had not broken it, she felt the crack in his hand when he hit her chin. She reached up and touched her face, and it came away a little bloody. Man, he really hit me hard.
After the large Wolfman ended the match Dante wiped the little bit of blood on her sleeve. She wanted to tell Jefferson he did an awesome job, but he was gone before she could say anything. Mr.Nahino approached her and bent down so that she could look him in the eye. He explained that she had done well, but not to forget what she had done wrong. Dante nodded at this, she understood all to well. She had thought that she was a good fighter, but she had been totally dominated before she could use her quirk. Dante grit her teeth a bit. She had won, but it didn't feel much like a victory. The win felt almost hollow because she had been so clearly outclassed. When Mr.Nahino left she walked out of the ring, but as she did it let out a loud groan of relief due to the fact that it was now over two thousand pounds lighter.
Dante considered whether or not to change back, but she decided not to. It felt so... weird when she forced herself to go back. Almost like she was itchy all over. Dante approached the group and popped her knuckles. Instead of the organic cracking and popping of bone, there was instead a loud metallic "PING" for every popped knuckle.
"Well, that was fun! It kinda sucks that he didn't use his quirk, but whatever. Hehe, he shure did best the crapbout of me before I changed though."
When she spoke her voice sounded more metallic and raspy, as her vocal chords and throat were now made of metal. She gave a slight grin when she spoke as well. Then she noticed the small chameleon looking girl on the floor and she couldn't help but mutter to herself.
"man, you guys just keep getting smaller and smaller."

"Ruby Lake"

Location: Library => Training Hall

While the library proved to have more than a sufficient amount of literature, it was sorely lacking the ability to socialize. Students that came there was either bookworms or seemed to seek out peace and quiet. Ruby didn't want to disturb them and eventually chose to leave the building again after flipping through a few more pages of the book she had picked. She wandered the campus for a moment while pondering over what to do. After the moment was up she headed over to the Training Hall again, it was the only building that had sparked her interest even if the howl from earlier had scared her.

Heading inside the building Ruby could see a group of students that had gathered around or inside the various sparring rings. The Dragon girl looked around at them all as she decided to watch for a bit before approaching anyone. There were matches going on around her and Ruby felt the excitement build as she watched the other students compete. It was the first time she had seen quirks being used for battle this close and Ruby could hardly choose who she would look at next or who she should silently cheer for. She found this place much more enjoyable than the quiet library even if this place was almost the complete opposite.

As she stood there and watched the other students she almost felt a bit shy, she wanted to talk to someone but at the same time, she was uncertain about how to start a conversation. Coming from a sheltered life didn't help make her more social, and with servants that she had known all her life, it was far from the same experience. She had met other people before, usually at large social meetings or parties for rich people like herself, and she had also danced with people in the past. However, that was also different, she was used to being spoken to rather than speaking with others, and getting asked to dance was not much of conversation either. The most she had spoken with others was during pauses or when she had gone outside for fresh air on a balcony somewhere, and even at that time, someone else had approached her.
