[Cross-posted from General Int Checks to get more interest... hopefully]

Earth, 2002
After eleven years of war, the First World has collapsed.

A brief civil war has left the United States divided, ragged and without hope.

The Soviet Union is controlled by former Russian Mafia and Military Commanders, now kings.

Europe, Japan and Israel are now radioactive wastelands.

Throughout the world, self-appointed lords and tyrants take what they want with force and brutality...
Twilight X was/is a comic book drawn by Joe Wight, and published by Antarctic Press. It's a military-oriented action/adventure series, set in the remains of Earth following a Third World War between the Soviet Union and the rest of the Western World. Some nuclear exchange occurred, but there was also a massive conventional war.
In the ruins of the world, governments still survive, as do many military forces, but the chains of command are broken and scattered across the world.

Among this, there are hi-tech sci-fi elements, such as orbital weapons and secret societies to contend with, among the gangs and criminal organizations who have risen to power.

The comic book follows events in the Caribbean, whereas I would like to run a game in another part of the world, but set in the same universe.
The plot would follow a group of people from a variety of military backgrounds - since it's a military oriented game - who come together both to survive, and after stumbling across some form of organization or group committing various atrocities and with their own plans for taking control of what's left of the world.
As such, they'd have to be fairly dedicated and moral people. Because, quite frankly, I'm really, really bored of 'morally dubious' characters, and would like to play with a group of people who are actually decent, morally upright and 'good' people. They don't have to be nice, though, and Good Is Not Dumb, or Soft either. And they can still have flaws, too. In fact, all the better if they do.

Anyway, the opponents would likely be some kind of ideological army, with some kind of far-right wing ideological motivation, and access to a wide array of weaponry, captured from armies, navies, etc. in the region, or bought with riches gathered from ruined cities and elsewhere. The goal of the players would be both to stop them, and also to survive and make contact with the remnants of the legitimate governments to collaborate with them on their counter-attacks and assist in rebuilding some form of civilization.

Behind all of this, there may be some other elements, such as organizations with access to high technologies and superior goals of their own, who have some involvement with the third world war in the first place, and may have their agents elsewhere, pulling the strings.

There will be a considerable amount of military-oriented action as well, primarily based toward infantry-related action, but some other stuff too. A good knowledge of hardware and tactics would be welcome, but not essential as long as you're willing to learn.

Character sheets and such will go up if this goes to OOC, as will a more defined plot and background. At the moment, this is just to get interest. And it'll be high-casual too.

Holy crap, I have signed copies of this thing. I'm not so sure if I'll join, but it is pretty amazing to find someone else that's read this, haha.
