@Wraithblade6 Trying to be tactical, is all. Since, you know, Xepherial refuses to wake up and help. AHEM.

@BCTheEntity By 'reliable,' do you perhaps mean on Lucius' side? The answer to that question is, 'no.' Assuming that is what you're asking.

Otherwise, I'd say Ugrugg has been pretty reliable. He reliably sides with chaos. He sides with them because he believes things most people would say is blatantly false, if not outright heresy, but he's consistent about it.

Oskar will reliably blow things up and set things on fire, if that makes you feel better.
probably wont be aligning to chaos either.

@Necroes@Sophrus I meant more like how everyone who might be semi-reliable for his purposes is out, either dead or incapacitated or outright useless. And I'm considering extending that label of unreliability to the meta level too, since Wraith refuses to even try and get his character into a state of usefulness (pro-tip, @Wraithblade6: the Preomnor and Oolitic Kidney can perform an emergency detoxification to purge chemicals, which KOs the user for its duration, but since he's technically unconscious already, it's not like that's a big deal), and Sophrus actively RPed out his character's death scene before manatee even replied to his actions. Speaking of whom, it doesn't help that said manatee basically has control over three separate characters, all Space Marines, which I figure makes him the strongest player by far for his ability to force events in his favour short of divine intervention, at least in the distinct and current absence of psychic powers. Do I sound overly salty? Because I probably am a bit salty about all that plus the lack of subtlety and nuance with the corruption in the PCs, all things considered.

@BCTheEntity *shrug* Look to the GM. It is within his purview to control NPCs. It's supposed to be up to him to keep a certain level of balance within the world by ensuring things don't become so lop-sided that they get boring.

That said, don't place blame on others where it can fall on you. Lucius didn't have to intervene in the surgery. In fact, even with the ogryn on his side, facing three armed and armored marines carried a heavy chance of failure. The indoctrination into the Adeptus Astartes, especially before the fall, placed much less of the stereotypical fanaticism that modern marines have pointed towards their chapter. Their dedication was to their Emperor, and the imperium. The idea of letting another marine die, especially one that he did not know personally, shouldn't cause him to do something stupid like force a fight against a superior force, especially when in a situation with as uncertain an outcome as the one the group is currently in.

tldr; JB is kinda slacking, but you brought it on yourself.

arguably, the situation has actually changed very little due to my flubbed post. Azazel could have blown the ogryn's brains out and turned the gun to you, which would leave us in the exact same position.

the ork does his corruption thing rendering the ogryn unconcious/paralized in pain, which would leave us in the same position as well. except that the ogryn is alive and being tainted to khorne or nurgle which would likely strip you of an ally as well.

@BCTheEntity Alright. Xeph could potentially wake up if he accelerates his body's toxin removal. @agentmanatee, last chance to finish your work... otherwise you'll have to subdue Xeph again later.

And BC, Lucius very logically should lose this.

@Necroes@Sophrus@Wraithblade6 I'm not saying I didn't set up this situation for myself; it just seems to me like the people who might have gotten it to work in Lucius' favour have failed to contribute significantly thus far for rather poor reasons. As for "don't make him do it in the first place you idiot", bear in mind that Lucius is also not entirely stable himself, even if he doesn't want to admit it. If it were just letting Xepherial die, he might not have had such an extreme reaction, but consider the circumstances: for all he knows, Xepherial might well be the only Dark Angel of his time period left other than himself, and as he recalls the man's name, it may furthermore be that Xepherial has some connection to his past that's been withheld from him. He doesn't know for sure if Xepherial is important, but he's never going to find out if the guy dies on him.

And then a bunch of Chaos-aligned surgeons have come in like an evil Three Stooges act and basically bullied their way into performing who knows what kind of insane science experiments on the guy, whilst he's still conscious, ostensibly in order to save his life. I would be pissed as hell, and I'm not a paranoid sociopath of a transhuman supersoldier; unlike me, Lucius potentially has (maybe had, if things don't turn in his favour soon) the opportunity to limit the damage done to his possible future ally's psyche, but the one guy who he enlisted to help out died on him or otherwise folded like a house of cards made of dust (and is now likely to become another Chaos agent, of course), and the other guy he's trying to save is unconscious, whether or not it's an expected outcome. I admit I might be channelling my own emotions at this point, but I figure Lucius would be pretty annoyed with how things have gone right now, and that he'd be furiously trying to figure out a way to resolve at least one event in his favour.

I'm not going to comment on whether Jb is "slacking" or not, since he already explained in great detail why he can't update as regularly as he'd like, but I will reiterate that Vedius' assistance would be of great help for Lucius at this time. Furthermore, it almost seems logical in this situation, since to my knowledge Vedius does not appear to like Chaos. Maybe I misread that too, but since he's not a worshipper of Slaanesh right now...

Uh... i get that Ogryn a huge and retartedly strong (pun intended) but he was not an ideal ally in that situation for a bunch of reasons, namely he was unarmored and already wounded. second i dont recall you sticking around to ensure that he had understood the plan, giving Azazel a window to react before the ogryn was uppon him... a .50 cal bullet to the unarmored leg (regardless of detonation) would realistically stop almost anyone, marines and ogryn included.

lastly, the minion Ga'duk hit could very well be out of the fight, at least temporarily as he wakes up from the concussion or disentagles himself from the collapsed cabinets and shelves.

Vedius, Xepherial, Oskar, and possibly Thorn are pro-Imperium. The ork, the hereteck, and Azazel are pro-chaos. The only reason we're not all killing each other right now, is that Vedius has no idea wtf is going on and has to drive, Xeph is unconscious, Oskar is still trying to get inside, and Thorn is... well, in a precarious situation.

In the Imperium's favor, the ork is injured and sapped of power, the hereteck is likewise cut from the warp (and albeit, crazy), and Azazel is preoccupied with his toys and is actually preserving one of the "good" guys.

I'd say Azazel and his thugs are currently running the show, which isn't a bad thing if we keep in mind the Eldar and Imperial ships are outside about to find us. Perhaps Vedius could ask us not to kill each other until we know we're not all about to be blown up or boarded or whatever by yet another enemy.

I think Thorn and Azazel need to talk IC.

@Sophrus I mean, you're probably right. The one guy being down doesn't help Lucius in his immediate situation, but it's probably made it somewhat less perilous for him by removing one individual from the equation. Sorry if I sound like I'm being a jerk for no reason, basically, to you and to anyone else; I'm apparently bad at handling failure on my part in ways that don't involve being angry about it.

@Wraithblade6 Lucius is "trying not to be pro-Chaos" as far as alignment goes. That doesn't necessarily imply being pro-Imperium, but for now, it's close enough to the truth. As for them talking, Lucius is not particularly inclined to trust anyone, let alone people crazier than him, and especially not people who pose a threat to his well-being that he can't realistically control or eliminate.

It's cool @BCTheEntity, I was just pointing out that, while it may seem like it was a rather weak exchange between the ogryn and azazel, he was probably always gonna lose. Largely because the ogryn was dumb as a brick and not well equipped to take on a fully armed and armored marine.

I would also point out that you where way too articulate for the poor guy. If your orders where "when i say Now, kill the red ones" he wouldn't have given Azazel the extra second.

This (and work) are pretty much the only reason I haven't posted anything.

I will say though that I dislike ad hominem attacks, even if it is more directed toward my position of GM, and it's quite plain to see why I'm not moving us along at the speed of light I.E. the current situation. Slacking is not something I'd think I'm doing, really.

For the record, if you do wish to take over GMing because you feel that way, @Necroes, then please be my guest.

@Sophrus@BCTheEntity@Wraithblade6@agentmanatee

I'll wait for the situation to extuingiuish itself (or not) and then get us underway, that is unless @Necroes would rather do it?

My next post will take us aboard on of the smaller (smallest) enemy vessels, one we can commandeer, then the real adventuring gets going.

@Sophrus I'm not really sure where Oskar is meant to be, but it'd probably be good just to have him turn up inside the ship - at this point it doesn't really matter how he got there.

@Sophrus .75 actually.

@Jbcool I'm honestly surprised you let the red corsair get 2 extra marines.
I thought they were like chaos humie goons that were all gonna die. That 3 marines got through the door gives him a huge advantage since he has an established power base where he is the leader while even if all the others gang up, there is no clear leader and they might fail anyway.
But i digress, i say this fight needs some event which halts the fighting all together.

Also JB, i'd say you should keep GM'ing. This is your story and no one should try to take over it. Unless it has severe problems or massive lore faults which it doesn't.
So i say i want to see where this story is heading.
I give an AY for JB to continue GM'ing.

Also, people, you got Zuriels alignment all wrong.
He's aligned with himself. If he could he would take over this joint and make all of ya his underlings.
Either to mechano-slavery, warp magic or good old manipulation.

Although i'm a bit out of my water here so it's only wise to stay back.

I myself want to see Xepherial and Lucious develop a cool backstory and deep character.
However, Zuriel couldn't care less.

Though, @Jbcool, it warms my heart to know that of all the people who have criticized you in this RP, I'M the one you'd have take your place. I can't imagine Why certain other people would be against it.
