Concepts and Ideas

As the title suggests, I'm hoping to run a roleplay based on the series, My Hero Academia. For those who's interests I piqued and/or are interested in joining in, instead of the typical AU and life at U.A. High, I was planning to go for something different to spice things up. Before I go any further, I just wanna point out that I'll be using ideas and tropes from other series, but only those that would appear appropriate to the setting we will be going for. Injuries and death will be possibilities, to make actions more well thought of. I think incorporating some sort of realism in the RP would be fun too. I'll be listing below the possible choices we can go with in terms of premise. Before I do that though, I just wanted to inform you that I'll be making use of information from the manga; those who only follow the anime might be spoiled. However, I won't be blatantly stating these facts out. So unless its actually mentioned, I don't think you'll even realize that you had actually read spoilers already. Once a plot is chosen, I'll be fleshing it out more to give everyone a more specific vibe to what I'm going for.

The last premise sounds really cool in a Phantom Thieves-meet-the-Undersiders kinda way (if you don't know who the Undersiders are then you haven't read Worm, which means you need to read Worm). Could focus on a team of disgruntled or disenfranchised youths rebelling against the system and using their Quirks to commit heists or other vaguely anti-heroic crimes (maybe even while secretly attending a hero school under different identities).

@Turboshitter I think you're the second person who's suggested Worm to me, and I'm pretty sure I gave the first chapter a quick read. I guess I gotta stick to it.

That's an interesting idea, but that way, it'll be very team-oriented so RPers might end up relying on each other to post to get any progress done. I know that's kind of the point and not so uncommon, but I just fear that over reliance coupled with a few absentees might cause a bit of stagnation in the story. Otherwise, that's certainly one way to handle things.

With Shigaraki, he just had a backer and was free to do as he pleased. I'll probably do something similar to this, in a way. So it would just be a group of rebellious youths who're being watched by some random elder mook who'll just intervene when needed. Nothing similar to All for One though.

The idea of having them attend school as aspiring heroes is an interesting twist though, but maybe instead of making that the norm for the RPers, it'll only be a possible choice. The age range for the character would be more varied though, probably ranging from teenager to young adult.

Villainy sounds great actually. We team up when necessary to do stuff, and if one or two leaves, we could simply chalk it up them being taken down.

@GreenGoat That's actually a great idea. Takes care of absentees. Those who leave could captured or killed off; most probably the former. If they come back, I guess jail break time.

A villain option? Sure, why not. I'm good for any but as you said, maybe focusing on the other side of the spectrum might be fun.
