Thanks for accepting my first character. Please may I keep the photo reference and change the physical description of Afia to fit? I'm going to be hard pressed to find fancily dressed orcs and I'll use it as a loose reference
Pretty sure the Char tab is only for accepted CSes. Unless I missed something.
Also, I am interested in this.
If that's true, then I'm terribly sorry. I wasn't sure where else to put it?
Ugh. Right, I screwed up. I'll just put it here and delete the other post.
Name: Thalia Coldstone (Goes by Mergoux nowadays)
Age: 31 Physical Description: Mergoux 6' even, she's got pale skin and is well muscled. Her body is lean and extremely fit. Her cheekbones are high and she has pale skin. Hazel eyes are set under a rather heavy brow She has long black hair she keeps partially braided hangs around her face that flows over her shoulders and down her back.
She's got a long scar running from just under her left eye to her jawline, it's rough and looks much like a single claw mark or knife wound She's also got a few random scars here and there, but nothing so major as the on marring her face.
She's got a large number of piercings. Her ears have so many rings in them that they jangle when she turns her head suddenly or runs. She's also got a small stud in her nose, her nipples pierced and her belly button has a tiny bronze stud in it. \ Most of her piercings are silver or bronze, with one or two gold earrings Most of her body is covered in tattoos, which are normally hidden under her attire.
Notable ones include: Manacles on her wrist with chains leading from them up to her elbow, where they shatter and turn into vines that curl around 8 coins on her right shoulder and a flower with 8 petals on her left shoulder. On her chin is a narrow strip of runes that reads "Avenger" On the back of each hand is a runic symbol, much like that of a alchemy circle. On her front, starting just above her collarbone, running down the center of her body between her breasts and ending at her bellybutton is a sword that looks much like the one she wields. On her hips, just above her belt and across her lower belly are several stylized symbols of animals. A Wolf head, a Bear Head, a Jaguar head and a Shark's fin. On her stomach is a sun with runes running around the inside of it that read "Justice above all else" On her right shoulderblade on her back are runes for "Bad" "Tough" "Strong" "Kill" "Revenge" and "Cruel" On her left shoulderblade on her back is basically a document of ownership, like a slave would have. She's registered to like a minor lord who died years ago. On her back, aligned with her spine is a ugly looking sword, something about it just seems off, and the odd shape of the blade seems almost demonic in origin. On the blade is written the runic word for "Death" Finally on the back of her neck, hidden under her hair is a large branding mark from a hot iron brand She normally wears a heavy leather jerkin and breeches that cover most of her skin along with some heavy steel toed boots
Important items: Her sword, an old Military Badge of service and a tattooing kit Mergoux wields a massive claymore, with a ornate hilt and a sapphire embedded in the pommel. It's fare more fancy looking than anything else she owns, and doesn't look like something anyone lower than a lord would have
Short Bio: Mergoux was born under the name Thalia Coldstone to Elain and Jacob Coldstone in a village far to the North in the mountains. There she was raised by her mother and father, wanting for little as her father was a well established merchant in the area. When she was 8 her village was attacked and destroyed by bandits. She was forced to watch as all the adults of the village, including her parents were executed. Then she and the other children were taken as slaves, forced into hard labor and other less... innocent workings. Finally, at the age of 19 she was able to escape. She stole a weapon while she wasn't being watched, and using the Claymore, she took brutal vengeance on her captors. She left none alive, and freed the other slaves.
After that she enrolled in the military, working her way up to sergeant before being discharged due to 'Erratic and disturbing behavior'. It was after her discharge, at the age of 2y that she shed the name Thalia Coldstone and became Mergoux. She departed on a spree of bloodbathed incidents where she worked as a mercenary, protecting small towns, hunting bandits and killing monsters for coin. She never boasted of her conquests however, and preferred to remain anonymous where possible.
While she tends to do good and punish evil, her methodology is disturbing to say the least, she's a violent psychopath who just so happens to target what she sees as Evil. Bandits, slavers, corrupt rulers. She fights against them all. She cuts them down, or when she gets the chance, will spend hours torturing her victims to death. She is a cruel woman, scarred both emotionally and physically by her past and wanting to take revenge on the world.
Starting Faction: None (Herself?) Mergoux doesn't owe allegiance to anyone. She works alone and prefers it that way. Though she has worked for and with people in the past, she prefers to go it alone, as most companions are deeply disturbed by the way she punishes what she sees as evildoers.
Spell List: None, going with skills
Exceptional Skill List: 2x Swordfighting. Mergoux is a excellent swordwoman. She's spend over a decade using her weapon and has grown well accustomed to it, though she'd fight nearly as well with most other swords. 1x Crossbow. Mergoux often carries a crossbow with her. She's a good shot, but nowhere near a pro. 2x Endurance. Mergoux is a tough mothertrucker. She's endured cruel punishments of her master and being used as a sex slave. She's as tough as nails both physically and mentally.
1x Intimidation? If this is a thing that's allowed. Mergoux is a scary woman. She knows how to scare the living daylights out of people, Batman style, and uses that to her advantage wherever possible If it's not allowed then she's got 2x Crossbow skills
This good? Anything I need to change? Let me know!
Fully approved so long as you understand that intimidation can and probably will be resisted. Although if it's too often then I'll let them know that's not ok
Physical Description: A somewhat thin noblewoman of middling to high standing with quite beautiful features accented with light make-up around the eyes and mouth to suggest a somewhat more wasp-like appearence. Generally Kamile is seen wearing dresses with corsets that constrict around the belly and lower chest, pressing her bosom up to give the illusion of lift while keeping her appearing thin, though whether she is or not is unimportant. In addition to her gown she also sports a single-finger claw ring styled like a hornet facing towards the back of her palm with the stinger as the actual talon.
Important items: Claw ring of the noble house Vespid seemingly enchanted with curse infliction that leaves those stabbed under her control through unknown means.
Manor vespid; Essentially just a normal manor and small estate sporting a respectable entourage of mind controled and heavilly altered humanoid guards, as well as slaves to tend to the grounds among other more secretive tasks that generally don't make their way to the light of day. Generally attacks on the manor are met with rather vicious and brutal punishments that often leave attackers as little more than experiments in her labs although on good days she can be coerced into simply torturing you to death which is arguably preferable depending on who is asking. None have before escaped alive, and forces attempting to free her slaves largely find themselves attacked by the very people they're attempting to free.
Underlings/experiments: While less important in terms of attatchment so much as she simply enjoys the study material and ease of living that comes with having them around to deal with things she just simply can't be asked to partake in like some common peasant. Lady Vespid's underlings are of decent power and I will be providing altered cses for each basic type, though like with Lady vespid herself, the actual bios will be ommitted for the time being, though I might add them in if they are every somehow learned about.
Starting Faction: Unless you would like to be mind controled, experimented on, or otherwise lose that character i'm going to hazard a guess and say you don't want to join her faction. However, AND THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, she is able to make deals to people seeking information, however her costs are not monetary and largely feature someone having to volunteer themselves to be experimented upon (non-invasively so as to keep (most of) their sanity) This can and will mutate your character or leave them with some other affliction so You have been warned.
Spell List:
~Controlled mutation (Change): The fruits of experimentation are applied here, allowing lady vespid to mutate those under her service in the most advantageous ways she's found, generally endowing extraordinary talents at the cost of disfigurement.
~Swarm Queen(mind and exception entomologist): Lady vespid is capable of manipulating insects using little more than mental commands. This allows her to implant and raise specialized insects to handle the less chitinous minions.
Exceptional Skill List:
~Exceptional entomology(x2): The study of insects both mundane and mystical.
~Exceptional wealth: she doesn't care about money in the slightest. If it was a battle of hitting each other with sacks of all the wealth the two parties owned, 8/10 times she'd win
~Exceptional medicine: Mostly for surgery and experimenting on test subjects as well as altering her babies(the insects not actual babies before anyone asks, though I wouldn't put it past her to bring in pregnant slaves for that purpose) via her change magic mixed in with medical knowledge.
Appearence: Generally the men in masks are rather tall, broad, and muscular with every inch of their bodies covered in black and yellow clothing with their faces covered with wasp masks. Equipment:
~Wasp masks: largely ornamental, though they do work as protective face plates due to the metal in them in a pinch. ~Vespid sercoats: black and yellow with the vespid crest eblazoned on the center worn over half plate of black steel. Un-enchanted and of middling quality, however it's still some fairly hefty armor. If you couldn't guess it, they're also all male.
Spells:
Rage of the swarm (high): High magical energy charged into their fists Allows them to deliver blows well beyond what a normal human is capable of as well as leaving the target with not normally healable wounds.
Appearence: Varies outside of uniforms, however when in uniform when around lady vespid's home or in meetings, the yellow jackets generally wear long tailcoats of black and yellow along with knee-high leather boots, and wasp masks. As a side-note, yellow jackets are akin to the female counterpart to the men in masks. Equipment: ~Fencing weapons: generally rapiers, however estocs, epees, sabers, and other such blades are not uncommon ~poisons: specially crafted poisons made specifically for every job and often ranging from magic-cancelling concoctions slipped into drinks to firebombs that can be tossed at targets or dry straw to act as combative enhancements. ~vespid seal: generally either some form of easilly hidden jewellery, or tattoo under the clothes, the vespid seal serves no purpose outside of confirming whether someone is a yellow jacket to other yellow jackets. ~symbiote: higher ranking yellow-jackets are allowed the honor of having a symbiotic insect implanted into them, allowing them to communicate telepathically to others in addition to naturally producing retracting stingers and the potent venoms that run through them. Spells: none
Fully approved so long as you understand that intimidation can and probably will be resisted. Although if it's too often then I'll let them know that's not ok
Oh I'm sure. I don't expect it to work 100% of the time, that'd be... lame. Thank you again!
@Rex, Provisionally approved; although the setting is Renaissance-type rather than modern.
actually, can I change my character sheet a little bit? since it's more Renaissance than modern. Instead of having the watch create robotic animals, could I switch it to use artificial magic? I was thinking it could be like a mana crystal that will allow his watch to help him manipulate elemental magic, but he can't control what type of elemental he will be able to control and can't use it more than three times for a few minutes before the watch needs a cooldown.
Alright, I think I'm done except for formatting and making the CS look pretty. Criticism welcome, and if I fucked up any lore feel free to slap me silly and call me Nancy.
Name: Clarimonde Sauerstein Age: 24 Physical Description: Clarimonde is a stout woman, firm of base and a tad busty. She's as strong as she looks, and often was forced to carry wounded soldiers across the battlefield during the Rebellion. That being said, she has a worn sort of beauty about her, like an eroded statue. The war left the beginnings of a few lines across her face, but she's still young.
Physical appearance
Important items: Since the Iron Decree, the possessions of the Sauerstein family were completely confiscated, their estate given to the Emperor’s replacement of their family. She managed to hide away a small, bronze locket with a magically made portrait of her family before they were broken apart, and is actively looking for a few other items tied to her past. Non-enchanted. -Her father Rayner’s rapier, well-made and well-used. Nonmagical, unnamed, but has a small inscription at the base: “Stärke des Blutes, Stärke des Steins.” Location unknown, belongs to the Emperor as a trophy of sorts. -Her mother Wilde’s favorite broach, a palm-sized piece of shaped black onyx with silver filigree. Used to control the magical defenses of Steinholme, currently held by whatever noble the Emperor deemed to place in her ancestral home. -Her brother Amwolf’s bones, to be buried in Steinholme. Location unknown, likely scattered.
Short Bio: Clarimonde Sauerstein was born to her mother and father in Steinholme, high atop the Grimrock mountains. The position in nobility had its privileges, but her parents always made sure to remind her that first and foremost, Sauersteins were strong. She attended every execution in Steinholme, was taught tactics, swordplay, and how to tell when loyalty to orders was more important than personal initiative. In particular, she took to medical studies with vigor, fascinated by the paradox of how hard it was to kill and how easy it was to die. That is not to say that her childhood was joyless; far from it. She and her brother were inseparable, and her father showed a side of himself that few had seen in the presence of his family. He told them stories, his grim countenance relaxing into an expressive face full of wonder as he related tales of heroes and villains, legends and love. Her mother taught her court manners, but also how to sneak out the back when politics grew too dull. At nights, she would take her children to watch the skies together, pointing out constellations and shooting stars as they savored sweets stolen from the kitchen. Commonborn, Wilde told them of how to read weather and the beauty of simple joys. It was a good time in Clarimonde’s life, but it was not to last. Eventually, the war came. Her father a major commander in the emperor’s army, he and his loyal forces stood with Du Reich des Goldenen Grahles staunchly… at first. After a time, he was summoned to meet with Emperor Maximilian XV for war counsel. Emerging from his chambers, servants claimed that the noble looked as a ghost, deeply shaken. It came as a shock to the nation when his forces fled from their posts in the night, joining with the Rebellion. Clarimonde herself was surprised, but her father remained silent on the matter. He always just stood there, jaw locked, and said that he couldn’t support his liege anymore. The Empire had too many secrets. Naturally, as time went on, the war went poorly. Clarimonde, seeing her twin brother enlist himself at the bottom rung of the military, as was custom for their family, saw fit to do the same. Though her father would not allow her to fight in the infantry, she enlisted as a field medic, an arguably more dangerous job. Medics were not allowed to carry weapons, in exchange for clemency from enemy forces… supposedly. After a time, she learned to remove the asclepius from her uniforms, as the spellsnipers would actively fire for those who tended to the wounded. She and the other medics secretly learned High magic to defend themselves, as knowledge of magic did not count as a carried weapon. As the war progressed, she brought more soldiers back from the brink than she could remember, losing countless more. Though her parents would not have wished it, this experience, more than any other, taught her what it was to be a Sauerstein. While she was away, the Reich reached Steinholme. Her mother led what defenses there were, but it was not enough.Wilde fell in defense of their home. Amwolf perished on the front lines, his body desecrated and his bones stolen. Her father was captured along with the rest of the leaders of the Rebellion. The war was lost. The Iron Decree came. Clarimonde was to be auctioned off to the highest bidder as a slave. This was not to be allowed. To herself, bound and prevented from using her magic, the newfound heir to House Sauerstein composed herself. She would not show her captors any anguish. She would give those of her blood who fell a proper burial. She would find and save her father from his prison beneath Castle Goldenreche, and do what she could to spite the Empire any way she found. She may be a slave for now, but Clarimonde Sauerstein is not a woman to be trifled with.
Starting Faction: N/A, slave. Loyalty belongs to her family, and the legacy of House Sauerstein Spell List: -Minor Constructs(High): The user conjures simple tools and objects no larger than a breadbox, remaining in existence so long as she focuses on them. Traditionally, Clarimonde utilized this spell for field surgery, summoning sterile clamps and scalpels. Occasionally she drinks out of a conjured teacup for kicks. -Lesser Judgement(High): Crude but effective, this spell hurls white bolts of energy, doing damage which cannot be healed by magic. Hits as a crossbow bolt would. -Lesser Ward(High): Simply a ward against other magic, this spell protects its target for a few hours before wearing off. Has no effect against physical weapons. Analogous to chain-mail, the ward does not completely negate other spells, just lessens their effect on the beneficiary.
Exceptional Skill List: -Exceptional Will: Clarimonde has seen more than her fair share of death and pain. Holding a man’s intestines in while lightning crackled an inch from her head changed her. Nerves of steel. Functionally, this is the same as mental Toughness, resisting mind-altering affects. Not immunity, but a very strong will against effects of the same level. Fluff-wise, her face is a stone wall. -Exceptional Medicine(x2): Studying under the finest tutors the Sauerstein coffers could afford, Clarimonde then spent several years performing meatball surgery in muddy trenches with minimal supplies. She can’t bring back the dead, but if the brain is alive she’ll damn well keep you that way.
actually, can I change my character sheet a little bit? since it's more Renaissance than modern. Instead of having the watch create robotic animals, could I switch it to use artificial magic? Yes, you can; Elemental is World Magic, while Sapient Elementals are World/Mind.
The Emperor himself isn't evil, per se, more like manipulated; even the Iron Decree came only when his eldest son and heir was murdered with shivs by noble prisoners who said son wanted to assure clemency to. Dubious circumstances, right?
Naturally, as time went on, the war went poorly. Clarimonde, seeing her twin brother enlist himself at the bottom rung of the military, as was custom for their family, saw fit to do the same.
