So, watching a new anime, and this-

Is the preview for the following episode.

Now, this show is filled with exposition, so I was really looking forward to actually seeing a fight that went on for more than all of five minutes with the main protagonist planting his opponent in the ground. Not to mention, this is the best animation I've seen from the show thus far.

...

And then the entire 4th episode shows nothing about the fight, and literally at the ass end of the episode, we're treated to the two main characters talking about how "amazing" it was and basically just slapping the audience in the face with a big sign that says "Fuck You!"

Fucking really?

What's even worse? There was buildup for this fight. Literally from the first episode (note, these episodes run 50 minutes each, a total of 12) we kept getting short scenes involving that samurai being an incomparable badass.

Yeah, that kind of sounds like Naruto and DBZ. A lot of talking, a little fighting, some more talking, some six episode build up of a power (with maybe some screaming), and then the final blow and/or last fight scene.

That really wouldn't bother me. But time jumps are something that I've gotten used to. Do they normally show things in the teaser that aren't actually in the next episode? In some animes I've seen, the teaser is actually just a shortened version of what is going on between episodes. It isn't meant to show what is going to be in the next one.

No, they don't.

This was high-level trolling. Apparently this was also done in the novel the anime was based on.
