It's okay; PCs are allowed to force the GM to alter their plans, as long as they keep within the general theme and direction of the RP.

However, stomping on the other Players' fun is something that must be best avoided...

Yeah, I usually prefer that post order too but we're in a situation where I literally cannot move until the fate of the auctioneer is decided. We're in bullet time until the plot moves on.

While we're discussing GM/Player posts, I would like to ask one thing. To what degree do we need to worry about not stepping on your toes, NPC-wise? Frame of reference, if I sent out Clarimonde and said something about the auctioneer discussing the slaves, is that kosher?

Bruv, I'm sure it wasn't intentional, no sweat off my back. You were just playing your char as you see her. Besides, aside from being a little bit of an interruption to things, the terrorist attack certainly provides an interesting scenario for the city to ponder, assuming she escapes alright.

That, and I think we can totally work with the edit. A little clunky, but definitely something that can be worked around so long as it's chill with @Stitches

@Tominas, You can send out Clarimonde and have the auctioneer discuss the slaves, but the specific content of the discussion must be ran by me first, as the Auctioneer is my NPC.

I don't mind what the players do but the issue here is that we're in bullet time still. The moment the crossbow is fired other characters cannot proceed until the auctioneer is dead or not.

I should warn you though, since my character is largely civilian I'll have to find an alternative method to get a hold of Clarimonde. There's no way, successful attack or otherwise, that Afia would remain in the square to buy a slave. @Tominas how would you feel about your character being 'pre-ordered'? Perhaps it would be better if Afia never attended the event in the first place and has her slave delivered to her front door. God knows she has the money for it.

...that is so damn pretentious I love it. But I think the idea behind @Overlord Thraka's edit was that we could do the auction for Clarimonde and Afia before the attack took place, then leave the square and have a merry time as the bells and whistles went off behind us. That being said, if you don't wanna do that I'm willing to work with you for the pre-order thing, though I feel like the Emperor would want ALL of the ex-nobles to at least be displayed for the shame factor of the auction. Unless I'm just reading too much into things.

...additionally, Aifa could potentially leave a servant behind to bring news and "place her order" if/when things calm down. Just spitballing

Wait, I plan to introduce my character by having to kill someone as well. So the question I have is, may I introduce two npc's(a rich merchant and his.guard They'd both die in this same post they're introduced in.

Ohhh, yes that makes more sense. I had to go back and read the post again but now you mentioned it, it was just me being silly. That's the ideal situation so I'd be happy to wait until tomorrow to see what you come up with.

Do it away from the auction and you'd be good.

And don't make the killing too easy.

I won't make it easy, the guard is going to be a experienced one with about the same number of exceptional skills as her. And of course it will be away from the auction, killing him in a crowded place would be asking to get caught.
