@Dawnscroll, I've noticed a couple of things regarding Logos.

Firstly, one of Logos' biggest fears is the heat death of the Universe, which is a result of increasing entropy. Yet most of the regular Laws of Physics do little to prevent the advance of entropy. However, magic, the Gap and the force of Change are all mechanisms by which one could theoretically remove entropy from the Universe and prevent a heat death (other risks notwithstanding). Yet, ironically, it are these things which Logos hates the most about the design of the Universe.

Secondly, in Divinus OOC canon, the language of physics and mathematics is Elvish. Does this make Logos the Elf King?

@BBeast Well, our version of fae creatures and weird shit essentially comes from Jvan. We may as well go to traditional roots with elves and say they're Jvanic as well, if they ever have a say in this universe. Then the mathematics canon loop will close!

Maybe human sculptors can be called elves by some cultures.

(If anyone makes Tolkien elves in this universe, or something too similar, I shall reach a state of permanent russlage of my jimmies)

EDIT: On the physics note, remember that Logos' physics may not be exactly the same as ours. Given that Zephyrion essentially blew entropy into the blueprint of the universe, I would say that Logos' physics is probably missing an angle or two that Zephy filled in. Like...I don't know, maybe everything is meant to be along a constant, unchanging value of time in Logos' rules.

Welcome. We're still accepting characters in the usual way, although only as demigods.

(If anyone makes Tolkien elves in this universe, or something too similar, I shall reach a state of permanent russlage of my jimmies)

Consider: A degenerative disease of the sensory organs that causes the ears to enlarge and change shape, the eyes to expand, and the skin to lose its pigmentation. Other effects include a changing bone structure and muscle wastage, resulting in a tall, slender appearance, and weakening ability to show facial expression.

Sufferers are vulnerable to overstimulation and tend to congregate away from the noise of unaffected settlements, gravitating to dimly lit places such as forests and caves, speaking softly and treading lightly. These communities often develop a culture of their own, permeated by resigned isolation that is all too often mistaken for serenity and aloofness.

Affected communities have reduced fertility, and so are always in decline relative to their unaffected neighbours. However, the fetishisation of their 'youthful, beautiful' features and the fact that they continue to grow taller throughout their lives has resulted in a widespread myth that 'elves' do not age.

@Antarctic Termite I'd say that's distant enough from Tolkien elves to be tolerable. My beef with them, particularly when they're xeroxed into other fantasy settings, is fourfold:

As for what you suggest, Termite, obsessive anorexic hypersensitive reeeeeee-screamers with a regular mortal lifespan work just fine for me, especially if it was on Galbar. They would just need some means of not getting eaten.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm glad that we have thus far (for the most part) not descended to straight out copying things from other fantasy worlds - particularly mainstream ones like Tolkien's. I hope we can keep it that way.

@IrishAngelQueen Well hello there and welcome back. Feel free to submit a CS if you're interested in joining again. Mind you, the current RP is VERY different from the last, so I suggest you familiarise yourself with the characters, opening post, Big Summary, and our wiki-in-progress.

And to think I was planning to create elves myself at one point. Oh well, that was an idea that never got off the ground anyway, and I'd probably botch it up horribly.

@Scarifar Don't mistake my caps locking. Elves are by no means off limits. I would just prefer them to make sense in the context of Galbar, if they are present.

To make it concise, my main gripe is really their lifespan. If you either ditched that or changed their brains enough to demonstrate that the long lifespan works, I'm open to new incarnations of the pointy-eared Hugo Weavings. I'm sure everyone else would be open as well.

LMAO. How is this possible? I had a very similar idea for some of the tribes within the forests as they were changed by Glamour. Strengthened senses, lonely and sensible. Paired with all the aesthetic mutations already mentioned, it became basically stand in for a bunch of forest creatures including elves, in my plans.

Due to the unworkability of the current rule regarding players not being able to play more than one divine character (I for one am currently playing a god and two demigods, and at one point was playing two gods), and due also to expressions made OOCly and via PMs to me to the effect that some players will be making demigod characters in future, I am hereby revoking the rules regarding players with god characters not being able to create and play demigod characters.

If the system is abused, or if you do it badly/unconvincingly (demigods aren't Avatars), then I will intervene. And I will tear you to bits. And your demigod character. >:)

But yeah, I ran into a major issue I have been brewing since 2012, trying to fix it, but nothing is being fixed.

Starting next Friday though I will have a lot of time to write, so there is that.

Boy, I really wish I had Conata's power. Some things are so delicate that you'd need control over metal to do properly.
