Kaitlyn just listened to the conversation. She wasn't quite sure what Joey meant by bitten either, but didn't say anything. "I travel a bit too."

Joey knew who he was bitten by, but that was someone he didn't wanna talk about. "Well, apparently I must've been human once, which means another werewolf bit me at a young age. Now I'm one as well, but I don't even mind being one." He failed to mention the werewolf he was talking about was an enemy of his named Golden. "I think I just don't remember much about my childhood except for that and apparently my own name."

Gharn snorts.
"You were turned then. You are not a true Werelord, you were not born to the power."
He doesn't seem to hold Joey in high regard for this, but is otherwise not hostile.
"I don't suppose you'd know who bit you? If he was he was of Clan Darkfur I might know him. We could seek him out"

Bitten. True werelord. Power. Lot of information coming at me at once.
And it all sounds so faintly familiar. Like a narrative that feels like it fits, without knowing the reasons why.
I guess I can assume for now that if were-things can get born or turned, vampires probably follow the same rules.
I'm probably no were-thing, that much Gharn made clear. But I could be a 3rd thing? I should learn more about all this, without letting on how little I know. Hmmm. I'll just nod for now, as if I know about the Clans and the wolves too.

The detective's expression doesn't change. "A wild animal attack sounds like the only plausible answer. This is a small mountain town after all. It happens."
He notes some words down his notepad before putting it away. 'Animal attack', 'follow up on witnesses'
Burkley stands in silence for a moment, lost in thought, as his eyes seemingly peer trough the young officer.
He takes a token drag from the unlit cigarette.
He then speaks in a calm, but noticeably hushed tone. "And what does your gut tell you?"

My gut? There's no need for that. I'm fairly certain of what the perpetrator actually was, at least, although you probably wouldn't believe me...

Shamira thought for a couple of seconds, making sure to carefully choose her words before speaking. "Based on what we know to be true, yes, that does seem like the only plausible one, but a whole group of witnesses can't be wrong. Even if they're exaggerations, there's hardly ever smoke without fire. I believe there is more to investigate, Sir, regardless of whether or not we can come up with a logical explanation for what we may discover."

Hopefully that would lead the rest of the force in the right direction, without making herself sound too crazy.

A slight smile nearly appears on Burkley's face.
"I understand. It's been a long day, you've seen a lot. You take the rest of your day off and relax. You are new in town right? Take a look around. I'll finish up the report myself."
Burkley walks away, then pauses after two steps...
"Should you find anything you can't explain..."
He hands her a card, then leaves.
The card looks like a cheaply printed business card, it reads "Down the rabbit hole" followed by a phone number.

Shamira's eyes widened ever so slightly at the detective's offer. "Really? Why... thank you, Sir."

She curiously examined the card he had given her as he walked away. What did he mean by 'Should she find anything she can't explain'? Might he in secret, actually have known as much as she did? The card had no name, just a short metaphor and a phone number. It made it seem as if calling this number would lead to some sort of revelation. Was this even Burkley's number, or did it belong to someone else? She pocketed the card before leaving the scene, just in case she found some use for it later, or more specifically, that very night.

"I honestly don't know about any clans, but I didn't know who it was at first until he came and told me one day. I believe he goes by Golden." Joey could totally handle this guy, but they don't know that. "He keeps trying to rid of me some unknown reason, yet I'm still here."

Joey never thought about how his arch enemy's name sounded till now. "I guess it it is kind of a funny name now that I think about it." He said to Oak before turning his attention to Gharn. "I don't know, but just so you know, he's hasn't defeated me at all yet." He was trying to make a point that he could handle Golden any day.
