There will be shops in towns that you will come across that I will list inventory of that you can purchase (or persuade them to lower their prices, or steal). When I was a player one time a player in my party and I (I was an OP Ranger) attacked a weapons merchant and stole some of his rare items....we couldn't go back to that town for a very long while though.

The downtime UA is still not up to snuff in my opinion, but it's better than nothing. Before, we had something like 1gp per day of crafting. Compare to Pathfinder where you can craft 1k gp per day. @Cardamonelaw

@The Grey Dust I can only assume the info is in the DMG to sell more books or to not clutter up the PHB with another 50 pages. Also because the majority of the items are handed out by the DM, and the Players shouldn't memorize all the effects and options (but they'll do so eventually anyways). Either way, cost of Magic Items is not written in stone. 500 gp is an average equivalency for most Uncommon effects, but some will be more or less expensive depending on a huge array of factors. Consumables, for example, are suggested to be half price, while it makes no sense for an Uncommon +1 Full Plate to cost less than a mundane set of Full Plate. Cost also depends on things like availability, the knowledge of the seller and buyer, and other factors.

Do you guys prefer a posting order or just posting based on who is online at the time unless a post is directed at a specific player?

I prefer to post based on who's online. However, it'd be fairer if there's an enforced post order during combat in accordance to initiatives.

So for story no posting order and for combat there will be a posting order based on initiative. You will have 48 hours to post combat before I will decide that you are either skipped or I may treat it as a critical fail and you end up falling down or something.

Anyone who is opposed or has questions/ideas feel free to speak up.

I think its better that you consider their action to be held as opposed to outright saying that they have critically failed their turn. That would implicate serious consequences that may lead to a TPK.

No posting order during out-of-init scenarios is preferable for me, as long as people allow others to get words in as needed, etc, per standard RPing etiquette.

One thing I've seen done in combat for those who don't post on time is to have the character attack the nearest enemy (or use a cantrip if a caster, preferring their previous target if it's still alive). This means the party isn't punished for one individual's mistake, but it also means that the individual doesn't have to track spells or resources they didn't know about or plan on. If that individual ends up being our cleric, sometimes forcing a Cure Wounds or Healing Word when it's obviously necessary (someone is dying, for example) might be preferable. Having only a critical fumble might hurt the rest of us more than them.

48 hrs is a reasonable amount of time, in my opinion, to wait for combat. However, I hope that we can post quicker than that the majority of the time, as combat is intended to be fast-paced and reactionary rather than something we can plan a full week for. If we have 6 people in the party (plus the DM) and we take 2 days between each post, we'll have 2 weeks for a single round of combat. If we can get multiple posts per day, that would be preferable for all involved.

Do you want us all to post individually for our rounds in combat, or would you prefer to have a DM post where we OOC / PM you our preferred actions and rolls and you add the info into the single post? The latter is much faster but has a lot less creativity (and therefore GLORY!). In either case, having the fighter say "And I attack this guy. And I attack that guy." can be boring for all involved unless we're allowed to add a tiny bit of flair into our posts (as long as they aren't mechanically broken).

I agree. Storywise, I'd say no strict posting order, just the usual amount of RP courtesy. Combat wise do initiative, give a 48 hour rule.
If not made in time (or any notice of electing to delay a turn or pass), then GM can opt to Delay the turn and force the player to take a Disadvantage (as incentive to post when required!) on their next roll, OR alternatively, DM can hotseat the role or give it to another player if it is crucial to the team, with a Disadvantage on the missing player's Roll at the DM's choice (only fair since the DM had to intervene, and now gets to intervene again).

I propose we declare our actions in the OOC first (which satisfies the posting requirement for time purposes). IC posting however should be 50/50. Maybe we can declare the IC actions based on the OOC, however we do not describe the outcome, unless the DM has replied in the OOC to inform us of the outcome. The IC posting in itself can be delayed (just reserve a space to establish the order) and edit once the outcome is known.

So mechanics don't hinder the writing in itself, nor vice versa.

@The Grey Dust Not a bad idea. A lot of my mechanics depend on the outcome (I can choose whether to use an Arcane Shot after I know that the initial hit lands).

As a side note, @The Mighty Hero, would you be opposed to setting up a Discord or Skype group? It allows for faster back and forth with in combat and OOC conversations. That's assuming everyone else is ok with that.

Sounds good to me, and I'm also with the general consensus that we should have no strict order except in combat.

@The Mighty Hero For combat, here is better. Skype / Discord might be ok for communication or quick responses, or for collaboration. But if you take the combat itself into the chat, things get confusing.

@Infamous Empath Not a problem if you want to drop, and it is hard to remember what an RP is about if it hasn't started.

Yes. The first post will either be up sometime tonight or tomorrow as I inadvertently have a 3 day weekend to work on everything. I do have a request for posts however. I do not have a posting length requirement but please do try to stay away from one liners unless absolutely necessary during narrative parts of the RP. I am old (not really, I'm 27) so if it's not a hassle use color for dialogue to help break up walls of white text. I also find this useful for keeping track of who is talking. For example, deep sky blue is my color. I use this list for my color coding.
