If we take a real broad look at it, this is a play-by-post roleplaying forum, a place where people engage in collaborative writing to tell their stories. If that sounds difficult to wrap one's head around, a quick look to some of the threads should explain how the system generally functions quite well. In case of needing a few pointers on how to act, we have our New User's Guide and rules available just beyond these two links.

Roleplaying is quite a fun hobby to get into so long as you have the time to dedicate, but I'm sure that you'll be fine. It's likely more than intimidating to make that leap, however, and if you have any questions regarding the hobby or the Guild itself, don't hesitate to ask. I'm more than happy to help at anytime.

Depends. What are you looking for? You can search for either group-based Roleplays and Roleplays between only two people (yourself and another) which can be narrowed down even further to the genre, the size of the group, the level of writing "skill", etc.

There's quite a lot of those, so scouring through various interest checks and/or OOCs may lead you to a Roleplay like that. Since you've decided that you won't be Roleplaying in 1x1, then you should consider if you would want to write in Free, Casual, or Advanced. Seeing as you're new to Roleplaying, I would recommend Free as it does tend to act as a "starting spot" for those that are learning the hobby. I'm not sure if there are any Roleplays in Free that follow those fandoms, but it might be worth a shot to take a look. And if you can't find one? You can make one. That's the beauty of Roleplaying.

You can also use this marvelous gem of a search feature to help you find what you're looking for (in your case "fandom" may be the tag to investigate).
