Eli

Eli continue to stare at Sienna eyes wide with anticipation, like a puppy discovering its first treat in a long time, before something roughly tumbled over him followed by a loud splash, planting his face firmly into the tile. A weak mewl of pain manages to escape his throat as he picks himself up slightly to examine his attacker (or...victim he supposed in this case?) before catching an eyeful of the current sopping wet young woman, whose decency was currently being protected solely through divine will and the fortunate forethought of whomever designed her outfit. He quickly turns his gaze back to Sienna before being reminded of her current state (or lack there of) dress, his senses now being re-awoken with the rage of a thousand suns.

”Why are they all naked...” he blurts to himself, now suddenly extremely interested in the superb craftsmanship of the floor. That is a well made floor. Almost artisan in quality. Arthur's suggestion they reconvene in a few moments was welcomed with bittersweet relief. While he was hesitant to leave the first bodily example of a holy act, their bodily examples were starting to stress him out. And he had no interest in probing 'Miss Foxtrot' for spiritual insight while waging a battle to maintain eye contact. He gently slips off his jacket, tossing it to the blonde. ”You can borrow that till you're clothed properly...” he mutters, before quickly making for the exit, sighing in relief as he was greeted by the calm cream paint of the hallway.

He lagged for a moment before heading to the lounge, stopping as an offensive tune hit his ears mixed with screams for mercy. He hurries in to the now darkened room, brushing gently past a young man staring agape at the girl who just exited. A young man(who he only vaguely recognized as being from the pool area) was clutching at his skull, apparently pained by the noise. His eyes scanned the room, for once knowing what to do as he grabbed a hefty steel stool from the floor. In one of his few trips to civilization proper, a local has recounted a tale of the previous week to him, in which a drunken tourist had taken to assaulting a 'juke box' after it 'ate' his money.

At the time, he'd found the story to be crude and, frankly, perplexing. The destruction as wanton and pointless as the outrage it inspired in the teller. But now he was forced to muse on the oft unexpected ways god prepares ones self for unseen disasters as he brought the stool down in a flurry of blows onto the offending stereo(or at least he hoped), the sound of splintering plastic now replacing the cacophony of noise. He huffs for a moment, taking in the new found silence, before turning back to the pained man. There is a brief pause before he realizes how insane he must look at the moment, words stumbling out of his mouth. ”I um...D...Dont...know what the bare naked ladies did to cause such an offense but I think that stopped it?” he manages finally, holding the stool in front of him in case the man became upset with his impulsiveness.

Sienna Morris
Current Location: Pool

Sienna's thoughts had blanked as she stared down the edge of the pool from her position on the floor. The pilot was at a loss, her mind befuddled from the sudden appearance of the helix, and then the bolt shooting forth from her hands. Distracted, Sienna swore someone was talking to her, and another was shouting loudly about turning something off, yet she could hardly focus on reality--not realizing that Arthur had tried to comfort her, only to get shocked by the electric current that now ran through her body. Everything had been as if it was straight out the movies, and it was beginning to be more than what the thrill seeker in her life could handle as confusion continued to sprout within the pool area.

Eventually, the sudden thud of a large coat onto her lap had brought Sienna back to her senses. An unknown man had given it to her, mentioning that Sienna was allowed to keep it until she was clothed properly. Looking downwards, the man's comment had only aided the confusion, as Sienna struggled to find anything wrong with her clothing. Perhaps the man had problems with two-piece swimsuits, but nevertheless, Sienna accepted his jacket and slipped it over her shoulders as the man disappeared before she could say her thanks. Now being left to her own doings, Sienna stood up from the ground, and adjusted her hair back into braids as she looked around the pool.

For the most part, everyone that had seemed to be there in Sienna's confused state of mind were now gone from the pool room excluding a few select men.
"Do you have an idea what had just happened?" Sienna asked Bailey, who seemed still excited by what he managed to accomplish with the other new person. Unknown powers had just leaped from their hands, as if everything the scientist said was true. There had to be a way to explain it, even if it was agreeing with those that kept them like lab rats within the facility. "And who are you?" Sienna questioned, changing her gaze towards the newcomer next to Bailey.

Caebyn -Bynie- Danvers

Bynie was frozen in fear as she sunk into the water all she could think about was why the hell had she never learned how to swim? As she was accepting her death an arm wrapped around get and plucked her up to the surface. She sputtered and looked up at her saviour, it was the Blonde dude with the accent, Arthur she thought his name was.

He was the image of calm even though the pool was roaring with commotion. "And breathe. Come on, let's get you out." She clung to him trying to calm her short sharp breaths as he pulled her to the edge of the pool. Lifting her out of the treacherous water she stared up at him slightly star struck. "T-thank you," she said breathlessly. But he just looked around with a determined look on his face.

Standing he commanded the attention of the room with a clap of his hands and directed everyone to calm down and re group in the lounge. She remembered him mentioning that he was a teacher and she could definitely see that now.

Some individuals started filing out of the pool area pretty quickly, there were still murmured of voices but the chaos had seemed to defuse. Bynie shivered wrapping her arms around herself she looked down at her bandaged ankle and then noticed how incredibly sheer her romper had become. Flushing hot she very carefully hobbled away.

Making it to her room she quickly changed into a t-shirt and jeans. Bynie looked at her bed longingly, wanting to nap off her near death experience. But she didn't want to miss out on the pow wow in the lounge. Taking a deep breath she ran her hand through her wet hair and made her way.
She didn't make it far before hearing newly conjured mayhem. Deciding to not get caught up in it she leaned near the entrance and waited.

Arthur Seymour

Room -> Lounge

Interacting with:@CyanideSweetie@ghastlyinc@SheriffLlama@KimmiNinja

A quick shower to rid himself of the chlorine smell, a new shirt and trousers and he was ready to dive back into the fray. The folders he decided to leave in his room. There was no telling what powers were going to exhibit themselves in the near future, he could hardly control or explain his own, and it was unlikely that the facility administrators would permit him access to the digital copies of his students' work, should the worst happen. He slipped out into the corridor, noticing a heaviness in his muscles and pressing down on his mind; either the stress of the entire environment was beginning to take its toll or the combination of the heavy workout earlier along with the sudden ignition of his power was proving a bit much for one day.

As he got closer to the lounge he could already hear the sounds of chaos, screams followed by some heavy banging ricocheting down the corridor. He noticed Bynie, changed into different clothes since her escapade in the pool, lurking by the doorway as if waiting for the commotion to die down inside. Approaching her from behind in such a way as to not take her by surprise, he offered her a smile and then walked into the room, braced for whatever he was about to see.

Cassius was behind the bar, eyes scrunched up with hands pressed over his ears; Eli was standing over some damaged sound equipment with the remnants of a stool in his hands and looking a little sheepish and Eliza was sitting on a sofa and looking a little recovered after her earlier outburst in the pool. It appeared the others had still not made their way there but Arthur judged that it was for the better, if there was this much trouble with so few of them in the room then having them all present would be uncontrollable. Arthur gestured to the stool in Eli's hand and raised an eyebrow in question.

"Managed to slay a speaker system, did we?" He asked, looking at sparks still spitting from the equipment. Crossing the room and stepping pass Eli he flicked a switch off at the wall and pulled the plug for the system out, dropping it to the floor with his eyes on the others in the room as if to suggest they should have thought of the same solution. "We need to start being smarter about what we're doing here or else we'll be in trouble. I doubt the administrators here have infinite patience for us." He circled to behind the bar and picked up a bottle of 10 Year Old Laphroiag, pouring himself a glass and taking a seat on one of the bar stools.

"So, let's try and work out what powers we have and any potential dangers we pose one another. I, for example, should probably avoid the pool area while others are swimming lest something occur as my power appears to be something in the field of hydrokinesis. That is, of course, assuming that we believe the existence of these powers and that it's not all a very elaborate ruse by those who brought us here."

"Whoa." Bailey gasped as he watched the blonde slice cleanly through Arthur's water helix with an arc of electricity. He felt his feet gravitate towards the two of them, momentarily forgetting about his own power discovery. Around them chaos had erupted as people poured into the pool room, Cass bellowing loudly that powers didn't exist while another girl skidded straight into the pool but none of that mattered to Bailey. His focus narrowing on Arthur and Sienna as he went to prod them more about their abilities.

The air whooshed out of his lungs as a sharp tug pulled the young man back. Bailey turned, confused, and locked eyes with the seething Thomas who had be completely forgotten. Rage flickered brightly as he seethed, "Fix it." He hissed as Bailey's brain stammered over his choices. 'Fix it?!' he cried out mentally, he barely knew what he did in the first place. "Uhhhh.." Bailey was grasping at what to say next that wouldn't end up with a fist to the face. It was only by a saving grace that that the man decided to lower his raised fist, uttering a soft threat to Bailey before releasing him entirely.

Behind him he had barely caught the end of Arthur's speech. Calling the group to go and change before settling down to talk about what had just occurred. 'Leave it to Arthur to think rationally.' he sighed loudly taking a few nonchalant steps away from Thomas. Bailey ran a hand through his wet hair as he sucked in a few calming breaths. As Sienna approached the two, "Do you have an idea what had just happened?" she asked. Looking down at his own hands he wasn't even sure he had an answer for her, "I, uh, made this guy numb?" Bailey's voice had less power behind it this time as his gaze drifted back over to Thomas; he owed him an apology. 'Ehh. Better not.' his subconscious quietly agreed. At least until he knew the man wouldn't try to take his head off. Looking at Sienna Bailey tried to quickly change the subject, "What about you? You shot lighting!"

There is was, the enthusiasm that had been there earlier but who could blame the guy? He had witnessed not one but two mystifying acts in a short amount of time. Bailey had felt like he hit the jackpot with the odds of being chosen to come here. Bailey went and grabbed his things. Putting his glasses back on as he shoved the rest under his arm. Looking back at the two of them with a smile,"Arthur said we all should meet up in the lounge? Maybe figure all this stuff out?" he suggested as be edged towards the hall. If he was honest with himself he just wanted to see everyone do; whatever it was they could do- again. Just to make sure his eyes wasn't playing tricks on him.

Still dripping, Bailey padded back to his room. His legs still protested the movement. Urging him to crawl into bed and lay there for the rest of the day but Bailey's need to know was a stronger will inside of him. Sliding off the water logged pants he quickly donned a pair of dry shorts and put back on his shirt from earlier.

Jogging back down the halls, Bailey made sure to read the signs as he found his way to the lounge. Inside it seemed that quite a few people had already made it as Arthur's voice lilted into the halls. "Hey, oh," he paused taking in the damage done to the room, "Whoa, what happened in here? Everyone OK?" he shot the group a worried glance. They all looked unharmed, some a bit frazzled, but over all everyone looked decent.

Eli

Eli began to stutter an apology to Arthur, but it died on his lips as the older man bent down to unplug the machine, finally manifesting as a disappointed grunt. ”I...apologize everyone. I'm not well versed in such things so....that seemed the most expedient way to help...” he mumbles quietly before pausing, realizing he has yet to ask anyone their names as of yet.

He sets whats left of the stool down, and takes it as his seat, face now somewhat red from embarrassment as he listened to Arthur. The man was taking the recent events...with surprising aplomb all things considered. If it weren't for him, Eli was pretty sure he'd still be attempting to probe the blonde girl for more information back in the pool area. Though, how successful that would have been he wasn't sure. ”Sh..” He starts after hearing Arthur's brief explanation, ”Should we really be working on the assumption that these manifestations of inhuman acts are possibly the fabrication of our hosts?” he asks carefully, wondering if he should also get a drink but deciding against it. Drinking this early seemed to be rather in poor taste in his mind, and he'd already soured the blonde gentlemens perception of him with the stool earlier. Best not risk it, especially considering he'd never even touched the devils water before.

He pauses again, waiting for a rebuttal. ”I just mean...well. Both the water, I presume your doing, and the electrical sparking from the young lady did not have any elements which would suggest earthly origin. Though...I admit my schooling in such matters may be woefully underdeveloped by comparison to others present.” He pauses once more, debating if he should even air the question that was nagging him about Arthur's suggested conspiracy. “ And even if they are the products of deception, what do our captors stand to gain from this intentional misguidance? ”

He leans forward, resting his hands on his palms as he thought further. ”As to what powers, I do not think that is so easily determined at this point. If you or the young lady could provide some insight into the state of your own mind when they first appeared to you, then perhaps it could lead to others with similar abilities to access them?” Though he tried his best to hide it, it was a somewhat selfish question. He was eager to see what boon god had deigned to issue him, though he desperately hoped his instructor's warning of hair in strange places was not accurate. Puberty had been a trial enough as it stood, and a second one would be as unwelcomed as the first...unless he could turn into animals.

The thought excited him and a wistful gleam came to his eye. ”That would be so neat....” he mutters to himself, now somewhat lost in the fantasy of becoming a hawk. The day dream was broken as Bailey entered the room. ”Oh uh...y...yes sir. I apologize. That...that was my doing. I'm um...Eli by the way everyone. Eli O'dell. It is a great pleasure to make your collective acquaintance.”

Athena Wilson

Interactions: @Utrax

'This is such a mess. How could they quarantine me with people who have no idea of what's going on with them? This wasn't part of the plan.. at least not that I remember.'

Athena scowled at the ground as she tried to figure out what the purpose of all of this was. Perhaps she was placed with them to help them calm down and learn to control what little they know of their abilities? She never had a facility full of staff that was willing to help at her disposal. These people did. As she thought quietly, outside of the room, the brunette could feel eyes boring into her. Her head quickly turned upward, away from the ground, and her eyes scanned one side of the hall to the other, until they fell on Marcus. One of her eyebrows lifted a bit as she watched him with curiosity.

'What is he doing?'

Her head tilted slightly as she watched him fumble with the doorknob, that belong to a door not too far from her. She debated if he was scared of her or possible appalled by her. Both very plausible since she considered herself a horrible person.

In that moment, Athena forgot completely about everything going on in the lounge, even as Arthur and others found their way inside. She had to go thank the young man for trying to help her, even if she did manage to end up with a face full of hurt and on another hospital like bed. Gathering enough courage, Athena took a deep breath and began to walk over to Marcus, trying to look as non-bitch like as possible. If there even was a way to make herself look more approachable.

"Hi," she muttered once she was close enough to where she felt comfortable. It amused her that Marcus was a bit flabbergasted but she kept talking no matter what, "I should formally introduce myself. My name is Athena, and I would also like to thank you for trying to help me, although I don't remember much." The woman smiled, genuinely, at the man in front of her. She could tell that she made him feel uncomfortable, but something told her that he felt like that around everyone. "I think it would be a good idea if we go in the lounge. Try to figure out why people are acting the way they are?"

Marcus Bradley
Location: Hallway

As Athena began speaking, Marcus tried to relax-- he gave it his best shot, really he did. Even as she introduced herself, Marcus couldn't manage to speak, he stood there with a rather intense expression, evidence of his focus on trying to calm himself. Nothing was working. So as he stood there, more tightly wound than a bow string, he anxiously began scratching at his elbow to focus on something else, and then Athena said it--

"I don't remember much."

Marcus could have cheered he was so happy because, in retrospect, what he'd done was kind of a douche-move. He could have at least called for help or something but whatever, it was past, and she didn't recall.

"I think it would be a good idea if we go in the lounge..."
He started shaking his head even before Athena finished her thought with a, "Try to figure out why people are acting the way they are?" Why did it matter to him what the others were acting like? Why would he go to the lounge and be in a small room with the rest of them? WHY? And mega-why did she want him to go with her? She could go alone, couldn't she? Or maybe Athena was afraid of fainting again and... expected him to help? But he hadn't even helped in the fi-- A sharp pain caught Marcus' attention and he hissed in response to it.

He looked to his elbow then immediately slapped his hand over it to hide-- Marcus glanced at his elbow, hidden slightly by his hand. How had he scraped his own skin off so easily? An ivory white patch, scratched out by his own nails, stood out in stark contrast with his dark brown skin. Marcus felt himself grow cold as he took in the sight briefly. Was that-- was that bone showing?! then slapped his hand over it once more. Time was passing and Athena probably wanted a response now--

"No," was all he told Athena. He shook his head again then turned to start walking away, with the mindset that he needed to probably seek medical attention-- wait, shouldn't he be bleeding? Confused, Marcus halted only two steps away from Athena with his hand still over his elbow. There he stood, in silence, with more thoughts rolling around in his head than he felt capable of tending to. Well that and the fact he was still pretty shirtless but that felt very minor compared to, say, his possibly non-bleeding exposed bone, unsurprisingly.

Location: Lounge

Eliza had just a few seconds of peace when Cassius sat her down on the couch. She was feeling a lot better, the cool and calm atmosphere the lounge provided was helping with that. She calls out to Cass to share that bottle of whiskey he had just set down on the counter of the bar. Not a second later, lights beamed down from the ceiling and the lounge turned into the setting for a disco party. Eliza turned her eyes away from the lights when she hears Cass fall to the ground screaming, knocking over the whiskey.

Eliza's mind moved quicker than her body as she felt herself going slow to even stand up from the couch. Athena comes in and simply flicks off the lights before leaving the room, but that wasn't enough to help Cass who was still on the floor in pain. Before Eliza could say anything to her, she was already gone and Eliza grimaced at the girl's lack of aid to see if the poor guy was okay.

Once she was standing up, Eliza took deep breaths and walked towards the bar, avoiding the broken glass. She knelt down beside Cass who was shouting for someone to turn off the sound. Frantically, she looked around for the source of the music before one of the new faces from earlier comes in and smashes the stereo promptly stopping the music. Eliza flinched as pieces of shattered stereo joined the floor with the broken glass. She eyes at the new guy holding the stool in his hand.
"There had to be a better way to stop the sound you know." She said as she turns her attention back to Cass. She pours him a glass of water and sets it on the floor.

"You alright? Don't get up too quickly now." The wave of comforting hits Eliza awkwardly as she never once looked after another person. She then acknowledges Arthur walking in and commenting about how they should avoid keeping out of trouble and making messes. Something that she could agree with after what has happened within the last hour. When Bailey stumbles in and asks if they were all okay, Eliza takes a look around the lounge.
"Other than someone almost dying from exposure to a disco party and property damage occurring, I'd say we're good." Eliza sarcastically says as she starts to pour herself a Merlot from the bar. Then Arthur talks about his manifestation of power and there are hints that it could all be but a fabrication.

"I'm not even sure what happened to me should even be labeled as a "power". I was in my room when I picked up a pen and had something that felt like a huge stroke..." Eliza cuts in. She then wonders what could have triggered it.

"I had a drink of water from what my trainer gave to me. He could have drugged it and set off whatever happened to me. It wouldn't be crazy that they are setting all of this up... Who knows what happened at the pool could just be a simulation. They could be controlling the water, and watching us as it happens."

Cassius "Cas" Williams | Lounge
Interacting: @KimmiNinja@Jinxer@HecateProxy@CyanideSweetie@ghastlyinc

Cassius' ears rang with painful screech, like feedback from a microphone, amplified into his head. Cass had taken hits and suffered concussions on the pitch, but he'd never felt anything as painful as he was experiencing in the moment. He remained in his position, knelt on the floor until the screeching stopped, replaced by the sound of what was revealed to be Eli bashing a stool against the speaker system. "Jesus, man." He muttered as Eli finished vandalizing property. He reached up to the bar and put the switch to the disco system back into the "off" position.

"New Rule. Don't ever touch that button." He said as he sat upright. He was surprised to see Eliza, seemingly recovered, bring him a glass of water. He took it and downed it, but stood upright and grabbed the bottle that Arthur had poured from, filling his glass to the brim and sending the contents down his stomach in two quick gulps. With the massive headache that plagued him, he had half a mind to down the whole bottle, but he denied himself the pleasure.

Instead, he leans over the bar are Arthur talks to everyone, adressing the possibility of their "powers" being dangerous to each other. Cass wanted to shake his head and laugh and tell Arthur he was insane, because super powers weren't possible. However, what he'd seen at the pool, combined with the assault on his senses, pointed to something of an impossible nature. He hated the thought, but it seemed slightly more plausible that Arthur was in fact, on to something. So Cass just listened.

As he suggested that they excercise boundaries for themselves, Cass tried to imagine how he could do that. If his supposed powers had something to do with the berating of his senses, Cass couldn't think of a single safe place aside from sitting alone in his room. "Okay, assuming that we all have some kind of power, which we don't even know yet, how in the world would we ever organize a way to keep everyone safe? If my powers," He threw up air quotes to emphasize his attitude. "have something to do with my hearing and vision, then where could I be safe? And if you control water - or whatever - what's to stop you from accidentally killing someone? I mean- water makes up a majority of the body. How do we know that everyone in this room isn't a damn bomb waiting to explode?" He looked around at everyone, his frustration and anger evident.

Thomas Silias Falch

Pool-room-lounge

Thomas was quick to introduce himself as the girl who shot lightning came up to him and Baily. "I'm Thomas Falch, but, Imma run now, see you guys whenever you get to the lounge." He didn't want to be rude, but he felt it better to but some distance between himself and Bailey after what had just happened, it would be better for everyone.

He rummaged the halls for a moment before finally finding his room, quickly going inside to take a few deep breaths while all the shit he had just witnessed sank in. A guy had made his cheek and wrist go numb, some other guy had made a helix or whatever out of water, and a lady had then somehow managed to shot friking lightning. It was all too crazy, the kinds of thing Thomas expected to find in a comic, but he had just gotten a front seat to quite the show. He wanted to make himself believe that this was all a hoax and that everything had been staged, but sadly the events with Bailey had proven these things to be real. There had been no way that anyone could have numbed the exact points where he had chosen to touch Thomas, everything else could have been fixed with money, time, and a hell of an imagination, but not Bailey.

Thomas remained in his room for a while, feeling slowly returning to his wrist and cheek. "Guess I should go join everyone," he groaned, making his way out into the hall and down into the lounge where everyone had already gathered. He leaned up against a wall and listened to everyone talking about their powers, and how they needed to keep themselves safe.

"We don't" Thomas mumbled as he listened to Cass go about how it was impossible to keep everyone safe, and to be honest, Thomas doubted they could. Even if everyone knew their powers, then there was still the question of if they could control them or if they were merely a response to outside stimuli. What would happen if the lightning girl or water boy suddenly lost control for a moment and ended up killing everyone? Did the staff at this facility have some way of dealing with such a situation? Maybe this facility was less about keeping its inhabitants alive and more about keeping everyone outside safe? The idea wasn't a pleasant one, but Thomas tended to paint a rather bleak picture of most situations, rather wanting to be positively surprised than horribly disappointed.

Thomas shrugged, pushing himself off the wall he had leaned against as everyone had had their say, and then headed for the bar. "We don't," He repeated, throwing a quick glance over to Cass, clearly referencing the exploding comment. "For all we know this place is nothing else than a fancy prison, somewhere they can keep us so we don't hurt everyone on the outside. Very few of us, expect-" Thomas pointed over to the four people that seemed to at least partially know what their power was. "-those people, have any idea of what they can do, so, by all means, the rest of us can just be bombs waiting to go off." He threw in a smile for good measure, but doubted that any of his rambling would earn him any favors.

Caebyn -Bynie- Danvers

Bynie peaked around the edge of the door frame and watched as once again Arther walked in and grabbed everyone's attention. The man was a born leader! She decided to enter the room, now that things had calmed down, eli perched awkwardly on his broken chair and Cass chugging down a glass of booze looking as if hed been hit by a car.

She nodded and smiled at Eli as he introduced himself, "Hello Eli im Caebyn Danvers, you can call me Bynie. So sorry I tripped over you earlier. I hope I didn't hurt ya."

Her attention was snagged by Cass. She had only been half listening to Arthur and Cass as they went on about powers, not hugely concerned due to not showing any sign of having any herself. But as she heard Casd target Arthur specifically about him exploding people she couldn't stay quiet. "Hey! You stop that! Arthurs not like that! If you don't recall," she said sassily holding up a finger"I fell into the water! Arthur could of very easily of accidentally drowned me, it was a highly emotional environment, but he didn't. He saved me and got out and calmed everyone else down too. I doubt anyone in here is vicious enough to show enough malicious intent towards a specific person to 'accidentally' trigger anything!" bynie huffed crossing her arms.

Then the other new guy strolled past her to get to the bar and started taking about how this place was nothing but a fancy prison. Bynie wanted to laugh, to poke fun of him for being a conspiracy theorist, but his words had struck a cord. He was right. They couldn't leave if they wanted to. And as much as she didn't believe anyone in the group capable of 'accidentally' hurting another member, what did she really know about these people? It's not like you got a background check before you catch a disease.

Sienna Morris
Current Location: Pool -> Bedroom -> Lounge

It was clear that those in the facility now had a game plan, or at least to figure one out. Sienna nodded to both Bailey and Thomas, the newcomer, and followed them out of the pool corridors. However, instead of going to the lounge meeting directly, Sienna made way to her bedroom first in order to shower away the chlorine smell that reeked from both her hair and body. Vaguely remembering that they would meet together in roughly fifteen or so minutes, Sienna took a quick shower and bathed in the rich scents of expensive soaps and other cleansing products.

Drying herself off and choosing to wear her usual outfit, Sienna grabbed her jacket from a chair and walked towards where the lounge was located. Pulling it over her shoulders as she walked, Sienna was able to hear quite a commotion from the lounge as she rounded a corner, the pilot wondering what could be the cause of all the shouting. While Sienna had spoken to Caebyn only a few times, she could clearly make something out that the ice cream coffee girl was shouting about Arthur's power could have easily killed someone. Stopping in her tracks, Sienna thought for a moment about her own power, and wondered how dangerous it could be. It only took a few amps for electricity to kill you, and Sienna worried about the possible dangers she would end up to be.

I flew for thrills, but also to protect people; not to kill people. This changes things... Sienna thought, eventually shaking her head to cast away the rampant thoughts that now plagued her head. It wasn't a good idea to dwell on a topic for too long, and Sienna hadn't wished it to distract her from life and reality. Stepping into view of the door to the lounge, Sienna went to walk inside, but upon seeing the carpeted floors, she moved her foot back behind where the carpet ended. Even if she tried to lose the idea of hurting one of her "new friends," Sienna knew carpet could easily aid in an electric shock, amplified by her power. "Don't mind me." Sienna said, allowing the others to acknowledge her presence. Leaning against the door frame, Sienna resolved to herself to stay clear from carpet, at least until their powers were brought under control.

Arthur watched the group's varied arguments with a mild sense of disappointment. While he himself had allowed that, somehow, everything that was happening to them was a hoax he still found it hard to believe someone could invest so many resources to convincingly create the illusion of them having powers; that was before questioning why anyone would be motivated to go to such an extreme with no apparent gain in sight. The others, who were accepting that they had powers, seemed to be seeing them more as a curse and expected them to be accidentally killing themselves when they went out of control.

"Alright everyone, chill for a moment. This is getting out of hand." He said, raising his hands to focus attention on himself. "I think it's wise to remain somewhat skeptical for the reasons why were brought here," he glanced here at Eliza, "but I doubt this is a simple case of us being drugged and them establishing an incredibly elaborate illusion to convince us that we have powers. I see no gain on their part and it would be a very expensive prank if that were the case. I think it's more likely that what we've been told so far, at least in regards to our powers, is correct."

He gestured at Cass and Thomas who were both concerned about the consequences of powers, especially his own since he could, accidentally, cause some serious harm if it somehow went out of control. "We know that we were brought here to keep our powers under control. I should think that there are counter measures in place should our powers get out of hand and someone else was placed at risk. I admit, my own apparent power could be one of the more dangerous ones, hence why I suggested I stay out of the pool area while others were using it to limit any potential danger." He nodded at Cass, returning to his concerns about his power. "It will be worth asking your tutor, maybe they have some insight to how it can be limited or at least they could suggest ways to avoid danger. Don't forget that they, apparently, went through all of this themselves."

He nodded his thanks to Bynie for standing up for him and then, finally turned to Eli, the newcomer who they had first encountered in the pool. "In terms of how it came about... I wasn't doing anything myself. I was in here, marking some papers, when I noticed that helix shape was coming out of my tea. There was this... I can't really describe it. It was a sensation in the back of my head, I couldn't grasp it but I know it was somehow related. When I went to the pool area I felt that seem feeling before I noticed the helix so they must be somehow connected. I don't know if it was the same for you, Sienna."

Noticing her lingering in the doorway, he frowned in concern. Up until now she hadn't shown any reservations about sitting near others but now she was almost hiding away from them all. He thought back to the pool, when he had touched her and received some kind of shock from the contact, glancing instinctively back at the hand he had done so with. Was she concerned of accidentally shocking others? In any case, Arthur wanted to refute the idea of people becoming isolated from their powers, and stood up to cross the room and stand near the doorway with her. As he passed the counter he swiped the bottle of Laphroaig away from near Cass along with another glass and offered the empty one to Sienna and then splashed some of the whiskey into it while topping up his own a little.

"In any case, we should avoid panicking and losing our heads. If we remain calm we can isolate places of particular danger until we've learned to control this abilities properly. If there's one thing I've learned from superhero films, when people who don't understand their powers lose control of their emotions, that's when bad things happen."

Athena Wilson | Hallway to Lounge

Mentions: @Aquanthe @Jinxer @Utrax

Athena found herself frowning at the lack of socialization from Marcus. What had she done to him that was so bad that he had to get away from her so bad? The woman watched as rejection radiated off of Marcus before he left her alone in the hallway. Part of her wanted to chase after him and demand what his problem was, and another part of her wanting to figure out if she had done something wrong. Instead, Athena found herself crossing her arms and turning back to the lounge, where everyone had gathered by now. She couldn’t help but look over her shoulder a few times to take a glance or two at Marcus, her anger flaring up each time she did so.

“That’s what I get for trying to be nice to people…” her voice came out low enough to only speak out loud to herself, her eyes scowling at the ground. Once she had neared the door, she looked up and noticed Sienna standing at the door. Athena neared her, and once she was close enough, she cleared her throat to not startle Sienna. “Hey,” the woman smiled a bit before looking inside and seeing everyone watching Arthur intently. He was still speaking when she got to the door, and she managed to catch the last bit before he ended whatever speech he was giving out.

’Should I say something? Should I tell them what I was told?’ She pondered it for a moment, taking a good look at everyone’s face. ’No. I’ll keep quiet until the right time comes. They won’t accept any truth right now’. Her eyes shifted back to Arthur before stepping away from the door and leaning against the wall, still next to Sienna. “Do you think the excitement of the moment caused your ability to, in a way, activate? That’s how mine first started.” Her voice was quiet and aimed only towards Sienna as she tried to figure out if these people worked the same way that she did.

Marcus Bradley
Location: Bedroom ->Cafeteria

A grateful sigh escaped Marcus once he heard Athena walk away. There were more pressing matters on his mind than "how the others were doing" and "lounges" or whatever. He practically sprinted on the way to his room, his head buzzing with all sorts of theories, thoughts, and emotions, all centered around whatever the hell his elbow was doing. As the door to his room closed behind him, Marcus made his way into the bathroom, then stopped in front of the mirror. Even though he was still covering his elbow and could see no blood between his fingers, Marcus could feel nausea creeping up on him again but he knew he had to look. Slowly he removed his hand from covering up his elbow until he could see it again-- and there it was.

The scratch marks on his elbow were perfectly traced out by the slate gray of his bone beneath but... no this didn't look right. As he leaned farther forward, to get a better look at the "bone", Marcus began to notice that it wasn't shaped how bones should be shaped-- that his skin had peeled away from the area as if it had been wax atop of another layer of someting. With sick fascination, Marcus drew his fingernail between the area of exposed not-bone and his skin, then peeled the skin away easily. His eyes widened, his head swam, and he collapsed to the bathroom floor on his hands and knees, as he found he could no longer stand on legs trembling so fiercely.

Sweating suddenly, Marcus began forcing himself to think about it-- about what he had just done-- and the implications of it. He could peel his skin off and it neither hurt or bled. This was happening. Vomit erupted from his mouth, splashed against the tile floor, and splattered against his hands. Coughing, Marcus moved away from his mess, still on all fours, then made his way out of the bathroom.

Gross.

That was gross-- that was horrible-- he was not going to deal with it right now.

He fumbled for the bathroom door handle with his eyes closed, then shut all of that up-- shut the door and crawled away. As soon as he dug a solid blue hoodie out of his closet, he threw it over himself to cover up the elbo-- No. He wasn't even going to think about it-- he could feel the nausea creeping back at the hint of the thought. Marcus made his way out of his room then began walking miserably down the hallway. He could smell himself-- the stench of vomit clinging to him-- and figured since no one could possibly be in this direction, no one would ask questions about it. He was hungry, somehow, after all that puking, and it was so savage that Marcus knew he couldn't wait to eat.

Eliza listened carefully while the others shared their own opinion on what was happening to them. When someone mentioned that they should ask their trainers, Eliza couldn’t think of a reason to even bother, anything she would say to the guy would just spark a fight. Then again if their trainers did go through the same thing, it would help Eliza understand what power she’s suppose to have. After a while of talking she began to wonder why the people in the facility hasn’t stepped in yet. They must have noticed something gone awry. Maybe they were watching closely how the group is reacting to the powers?

The day’s events took a toll on her energy as Eliza wondered when the next meal would roll around. Most importantly, they were promised phone calls for the day. She assumed it would be by the end of the day but Eliza grew even more anxious just thinking about it. Though for her, she didn’t have anyone to call besides her sister. And with what had happened in New York, she wasn’t all too excited about hearing Elaina’s voice. But it would be nice to let someone know what is happening. At the very least get some sympathy out of dear old sis.
Eliza remained passive in the rest of the conversation as people argued about the safety of these powers or lack thereof. When it came to thinking up places to avoid, all Eliza could say about that was avoiding the pen that she touched in her room. She gave the idea of powers actually existing a chance since she wasn’t in a mood to argue.

“I guess in my case I’m going to avoid pens since touching one seems to have triggered something for me.” Eliza sighed at that ridiculous notion but the slight pain throbbing in her head reminded her that it was for the best.

Eli

“Pleasure to meet you Ms. Danvers.” Eli says with a curt nod. “And do not be. Was more worried about your....state after the fall as it stood. I apologize.” He adds, giving a meek wave to Sienna as she enters. At least people were dressed now. So, things were at least starting to look up. He remained quiet as the group continued their debate on their circumstances, not really seeing much point in arguing further as to the intent of their hosts. Being there only for a day, there wasn't much evidence to draw an agenda from. Though if his instructor turned out to be evil, part of him wouldn't be too surprised.

“Hmm. A thought occurs though.” He says as the group resolves to avoid potential power triggers. “It seems a common thread between Arthur, Ms. Foxtrot and...I'm sorry ma'am, I don't think I know your name?” He says turning to Eliza before continuing. “Is that their powers seemed to occur when their minds where otherwise occupied. Arthur with grading and Sienna with the pool helix for examples. It might be safe to assume that, at least in these cases, there is a mental trigger rather than a purely physical one.”

He thinks further for a moment before standing, going to a far corner of the room and takes a deep breath. The exhale came with commanded slowness as he forced his mind to clear. It was something Reverend Lloyd had taught him, along with the other young people of the commune, as a way to distance one's mind from the temptations of technology when venturing into the world. Eli never thought much of it, only rarely engaging with it when his interactions with towns folks became upsetting (which is, perhaps, probably not 100% healthy truth be told). If Eli had ever been made aware of similar buddist practices, he probably would have found the overlap endearing. But he wasn't, and for now he simply focused on the exercise.

After a few seconds, he finally managed to find it. A weak, almost mute, line in the back of his mind. Almost tangential to this normal thoughts. He tugged at it softly (just in case he DID explode. Hopefully it would be a small one) bringing it forward. The air in front of his eyes glowed softly as dust seemed to rise from nowhere. He tugged again, this time bringing the line to the forfront of his mind and keeping it there, fighting what seemed to be a great resistance to him doing so. There is a quiet crinkle of what sounded like broken glass as an orb of light popped into life.

Excitement bubbled to the surface and his concentration lapsed, the line in his mind pulling free of his control and snapping back to its place just outside his thoughts. The ice cube sized ball of light dims considerably, dropping to the floor with a hefty clack for its size. Eli stares at in silence for a moment, before finally managing to say something. “I...I made a thing.” He stutters dumbly, pointing at the now visible rock. “I...” He starts, before a wave of nausea hits him like a truck load of nausea based metaphors keenly intent on ruining someones day. “ Think I'm going to go vomit. Trash can please?” He asks, leaning limply against the wall.

Sienna Morris
Current Location: Lounge

As befitting the teacher, Arthur was more than capable of calming the facility's populace, yet Sienna still had reservations about everything. She may have accidentally hurt someone in the past--just as everyone else--but Sienna was hesitant from stepping forward, lest she hit anyone with a electric shock with the power of her jet fighter's payload. Despite this, Arthur approached Sienna with a glass and some liquor, and out of concern, Sienna stared back at Arthur with a 'are-you-serious' gaze expressed on her face. A few moments passed for Arthur to speak again, before Sienna eventually caved in."Ah, why not? It'd be ridiculous if I let this 'power' have the best of me instead of letting it just become AFI. Cheers." With a shrug, Sienna took the glass from Arthur, and finished the liquor in one big gulp.

As Sienna lowered the glass, Athena came into view, friendly and with questions.
"Hey." Sienna replied with a smile of her own, now warming up more towards the rest of the group. Upon her question, Sienna cupped her chin, idly shifting the glass in her hand as she thought the reasoning behind how her powers activated. "To be honest, I'm not sure. I remember seeing Arthur's helix, and later reaching out to touch it. Perhaps you could say the key for activation was the helix alluring my gaze away from anything else, if that counts." Sienna explained, with a slight shrug in Athena's direction as the two began to speak and converse.

"What about you, Athena? I haven't seen you around lately. I know that incident with Bailey might not have been the best way to introduce yourself, but while we're at it, why not let bygones be bygones? I'm sure everyone would be willing to meet you." Sienna explained, nodding assurance to Athena when the newcomer began to yell that he felt sick. Looking in Eli's direction, and then to the carpet, Sienna took a heavy sigh and walked over towards the trash can, snatching it into her hands. "Here, lurch into this instead of the carpet." Sienna stated, passing the bucket to Eli. The pilot was used to people throwing up, and Sienna paid no heed to the sounds of vomit that would soon be coming as she turned back to the conversation that was being had.

"That's the spirit." Arthur grinned as Sienna accepted the glass although he raised an eyebrow when she downed the strong liquor in one gulp; if he wasn't so impressed he might have had something to say about wasting a good, proper whiskey by drinking it in such fashion. Athena soon joined them and talked to Sienna at the door briefly before the latter woman rushed across the room to save the carpet from Eli's sudden illness.

Watching from the doorway, Arthur suddenly wondered how on earth such a varied and, apparently, random assortment of people could have been collected. Of course, he like the others had thought so before but the scene in front of him was so fragmented, so utterly bizarre with people from all over with little to connect them besides their age range, brought the thoughts winging back home to him. It was a puzzle and if there was one thing Arthur liked, it was answering riddles and solving mysteries.

He had no time, however, to dwell on such thoughts as, after a long period of noticeable absence, there was a buzzing sound announcing that the Administrators finally had something to say to them again. As always, it was the same research lady who had first spoken to them, chipper as always and sounding more like they were at a theme park than in a facility with, apparently, potentially fatal illnesses.

"Good evening everyone! My, what excitement we've had today - it looks like you've almost all awoken your abilities. We're making good progress then! What?" There was some muttering through the system, too quiet for them to hear but audible enough for them to know that she was talking to someone else. "Ah yes, I almost forgot! Tonight you'll be allowed to make a call to family or friends or whatever. Just one for now, the instructions are all on your TV. I'm afraid it's a bit like Skype rather than FaceTime but we ran out of budget, what can I say?" She laughed loudly, and at length, at her joke before finishing off, slightly breathless from her giggling fit. "No curfew tonight but it's the same start time tomorrow so get plenty of sleep. Rest is key to progressing your well being! Ciao and goodnight!"

Silence lay in the wake of her announcement. It looked like, the same as Arthur, the others had forgotten that they were going to be allowed to call out of the facility. No one moved for a bit but the atmosphere was getting awkward, none willing to make the first move but all desperate to rush to their rooms without looking so. Eventually, Arthur finished the last of his drink quickly and put his glass and the bottle onto the bar counter resolutely.

"Well, I'll catch you all for some tea in a bit then." He tried to sound off-hand as he strode from the room, suppressing the urge to run to his room. The white halls were already becoming eerily familiar, the brightness of the lightning less off-putting than it had been at first but he was too eager to get back to this room to notice how unsettling that sensation was. Nearly throwing the door open as he entered, he grabbed the TV remote off the desk and switched it on, kicking the door shut behind him before sitting down on the bed nervously.

The TV booted up as before, showing numerous different apps. He cycled through them until he got to the end where a new one sat, displaying a generic black video camera symbol on a white background. With some trepidation he opened it and a list of people sprang up, all of them those he knew. Under normal circumstances he would have found it creepy that they had generated such a list but he was finding it harder to be surprised by how much the Administrators knew about them all, and so was merely grateful for the choice.

Which presented its own conundrum. Who, out of that long list, did he call?
'Just one for now' she had said, which suggested to Arthur that in future they would be able to make further, and perhaps more frequent, calls out to people. So for now he chose who he felt was the most important, or at least, the one who would be most concerned about him and the most eager for news, and scrolled down the list to find his mother.

The screen went black with a dull phone ringing sound effect in the background while the connection was being made. As he waited, Arthur began to wonder what would happen if the call wasn't picked up - would they be allowed another or would that one, failed, attempt be all they got? He didn't get his answer as, after half a dozen chimes, the call was picked up by his mother. From the angle of the camera he assumed she was taking the call on her phone in the living room, the dark window behind her suggested that it was night time although not too late as she was still in day clothes.

"Arthur? Oh, they said you'd be calling but I wasn't sure... I'm so glad to see you! How are you feeling?"

Her expression was filled with worry but it was no more than that of someone concerned for another's help. Like him, she had taken it in stride about the unusual situation and accepted that what had to be done was being done; focusing on getting better was the most important. Once again, he was struck by how like his mother in personality he was. He forced a smile, trying to keep calm and not let all of the little, niggling concerns that were in the back of his mind show on his face.

"Fine, thanks mum. All a bit peculiar but... can't say I don't understand it all now." He wondered how much they were allowed to tell others, no announcement had been made about that and he distinctly remembered them saying that those around them had been told a little about their condition. How much would his mother know, in that case? Deciding to keep it simple, in the realms of a normal illness, he shrugged his shoulders and instead went on at length about the facility, stressing how extensive it seemed their care would be.

They chatted for some time before Arthur finally clocked onto something unusual. His mother was still sitting in the living room but it was dark outside despite which meant it was late in England. Observing her more closely he saw signs of stress and concern, a slight turning down of the lips at the edge of her mouth and a dullness in her eyes, which he had assumed were connected to his temporary incarceration. Finally, he broke the chain of their conversation and brought up what she had clearly been avoiding.

"Mum, where's Dad?"

All colour drained from his mother's face and the barely hidden signs of stress showed more clearly on her face. For a moment they sat in silence before she spoke.

"I don't know. Arthur-"

The image froze, moving incredibly slowly with garbled and nonsensical sound jarring out of the speakers. After half a minute the signal cut out and an error message showed on the screen.

"Signal Lost."
