Government Descriptions:
The Midbari Desert is a region defined by a loose confederation of allied states, with the greatest cooperation existing in military and economics. The most powerful of these states is the Midbari Kingdom, which exists around the eastern rivers of the desert. The territories of the Kingdom are divided into numerous emirates, each governed by an Emir who decides upon their successor, which is often based hereditarily but is not necessarily so. Emirs may also decide to not have lifetime appointments and to appoint successors in a similar fashion as the Malik, but most do not do so. Those who do do so because anyone who has been an Emir at some point in the Kingdom is given a vote for who should be the next Malik, or King. The more living Emirs a certain Emirate has, the more votes. Voting power is also given to certain influential merchants, as well as the leader of the Kingdom Dagger Base and the King of Gushawar, who is given three votes. The Malik is given complete executive control and universal control of the capital of Aihtifakhur for a decade, after which they return to their previous position. The Midbari Kingdom wished for all humans in the desert to be unified under one government. The Emirate of Nur'alam disagreed.

The Emirate of Nur'alam has been under the control of the Sharaqim dynasty since its creation. The Sharaqi Emir has nearly complete control of the area from his capital of Dawakah. Governance, however, outside of major cities still lies in the hands of the various sheiks and tribal chieftains of the desert, the power of whom is greatly respected by the Emirate, who contrarily completely disregards the power of the Midbari kingdom.

The Daggers are an order of assassins who operate from their mountain bases, the head of which is al-Ghamuz, atop the desert's largest mountain of Satir. They are led by a Mentor appointed by Rey'alam herself, though each fortress also has its own leader who oversees that branch of Daggers, still respecting the Mentor's leadership. The Mentor of the Daggers also oversees the various Dagger Temples located around the world.

The Condors are large, sentient birds who have organized and coordinated their migratory flight patterns. Though disorganized, high levels of communication still exist between the various flocks.

The Ibexi lands are isolationist, and also not unified, with each Ibexi tribe completely autonomous. That said, the Ibexi still agree to patrol their borders if a tribe is close to them, and there isn't any conflict between tribes.

The Hajiri operate under a Matriarchy, led by an elder female oligarchy. A single head matriarch exists, who then appoints the matriarchs of the various regions and tunnels. After the head matriarch dies, the lower matriarchs she appointed decide upon which of them should be her successor. The matriarchs usually delegate military leadership to various male warriors and mages.

Languages: Midbari spoken universally, Hajiri and Condors have their own languages. Edhelywlin Elvish and Gushawari languages are spoken by some merchants and by the Kingdom's aristocracy.


In the time of the last Pantheon, the god Midbar created the Midbari desert, and populated it with the Midbarites, a goat-like people of his creation, and his human followers. The sentient Condors of the region had already existed there, but in small numbers. He gave them the Midbari language to communicate with each other, and by the Midbarites was loved. When Justinian was created, he killed Midbar, and many of the human sheiks began worshipping Justinian, and took over the desert. The Midbarites, enraged by the death of their creator, waged war against the Justinian worshippers, refusing to cease their worship of a dead god. Unceasing in their devotion to Midbar, they were nearly driven to extinction. At the same time, a human resistance began to form, led by a divine champion of Yuwan named Mala al-Tafub, who utilized the desert to her advantage by controlling the sand, used to supplement her skill with a dagger, her followers, fighting in the same fashion, being known as the Daggers. She became greatly renowned as the years of her resistance went on, and she began to be known as Rey'alam, or the Queen of Sand.

289 years ago, the armies and avatars of Yuwan and Justinian clashed in the Midbari Desert, a battle where Rey'alam and her Daggers were of course participants. It was also the battle in which Rey'alam died, and ascended as a celestial servant of Yuwan. She used her newfound power to completely take her native desert as Yuwanist land, and created the ant-like Hajiri to defend the region's hostile borders. She became revered among the people of the deserts, and people began to worship her directly, often in conjuction with Yuwan, all but the Midbarites, who she allowed to only worship Midbar, so long as they would serve her militarily, and provide one great warrior she would imbue with power, known as the Emissary. They became known as the Aiba'ecksi, or Children of a Dead God, otherwise known as Ibexi. Her Daggers became an order of assassins, who act to this day as her personal hand.

Though she began overseeing the Midbari Desert, she did not rule it directly, and 200 years ago, in the eastern desert, around the rivers where the population was at its densest and Yuwan still was worshipped supremely, the Emirs of the region wished for Midbari Human unification, stripping the sheiks and chiefs of the their power and founding the Midbari Kingdom. The only Emir who disagreed with their dismantling of the traditions was Taqmua al-Sharaqim, the Emir of Dawakah, a newly founded city far in the west, out in the desert. He refused to be a part of the new Kingdom, and all the sheiks and nomads of the desert pledged their support for him. He, a worshipper of Rey'alam, also believed the name of the Midbari Desert was outdated, and named his Emirate the Emirate of Nur'alam, or the Land of Sand.

Meanwhile, in the far west, the Hajiri began to dig their subterranean dwellings. Around a century ago, the Hajiri found large gem deposits deep underground in their territories. Because they couldn't pay to start major mining operations, human prospectors began coming to their lands to invest in building mines. Over time, a system developed where the Hajiri would mine the ores, caravans from the Emirate would transport them, and they would usually be sold in the Midbari Kingdom. One family began to prosper from this far more than others; the Dahir of the Kingdom. The Dahir family became major bankers, placing members of their family in courts all around the Yuwanist world. The head of the Dahir family was given a vote for King, and they began marrying into various powerful families around the Kingdom, or influencing them in other ways, and recently, a Dahir was elected king.

Another historical event of note is that during the Ourobosian-Gushawari war, the Kingdom and the Ibexi sent an army to fight for Gushawar.



One of the obvious attributes of the Midbari Desert is that it is disunified, something that acts as both an advantage and disadvantage. While disunity can harm coordination and development, it also allows for a greater military variety, and were any of the Midbari Polities to fall, it wouldn't spell disaster for any of the other ones. A major military advantage of the desert is the desert itself, which causes great attrition to foreign invaders. The most glaring military disadvantage is the lack of military technology. Gunpowder weapons amongst the Midbari are largely nonexistent, with the exception being the Kingdom's bombards. The Kingdom is also responsible for feeding practically the entire desert. All in all, the Midbari Desert's biggest weakness is how much power is concentrated in the Kingdom.

Magically, sacrifices derive from a few things. One of them is the Daggers; if they can, all killings the Daggers could possibly do are done through sacrifice to Rey'alam. Aside from that, in both the Emirate and the Kingdom, sacrifice is a punishment for many crimes, including murder, Justinian or Red God worship, rape, and others depending on the region. Animal sacrifice is the most common sacrifice day to day, with Kingdom farmers sacrifices at least some of their livestock to Yuwan, Condors often picking off random desert creatures to sacrifice, and other such sacrifices occurring regularly. Ibexi also perform animal sacrifice, although this is purely ceremonial, the sacrifices being directed towards a god that is now dead. Because of this, Ibexi, aside from the Emissary, can use no magic, although compensate with their size and strength.

The magic invented by Rey'alam, and the main type of magic used by the Daggers, is the control of sand. When concentrated, Sand Magic can cause massive sandstorms, but usually is small and just used for combat, with Daggers carrying a jar of sand on them during missions. Some more powerful Daggers, especially the Mentor, can also utilize illusion magic, which they use to disguise both Dagger members and bases. While sand magic being used for combat outside of the Daggers is uncommon, sand gardens for use of art and meditation are common among magic users throughout the Midbari Desert. A handful of members of the Daggers, mostly Divine Champions, can also teleport from one Dagger Base to another using a combination of Sand and Yuwanist magic.

In the Kingdom, soon after its creation, a notion arose that the Midbari Kingdom must become the "Flame of Yuwan". Many magic users began taking this literally, and fire magic is extremely common among magic users throughout the Kingdom. With the Kingdom being heavily Yuwanist, divination and Yuwanist visions are more common than anywhere else in the region, with the Dahir using these fortune tellers for investment. While illegal everywhere else, slavery is common in the Kingdom, being the backbone of labor, though slavery in the Kingdom is not quite as widespread and integral as other parts of the world.

The Condors almost universally are talented magicians, and will combine all magic applications from all regions in combat. They also will use magic to enhance their eyesight even more, or to increase their strength to carry off opponents.

The magic used by the Hajiri is far different than that used in other parts of the region. Residing in dark, humid caves, the Hajiri needed a source of light, and fire couldn't be used. Because of this, the Hajiri started using magical lights. Upon discovering a species of edible bioluminescent mushrooms, the Hajiri began farming these throughout the caves, and used them as a source of light, but their magic light was still used. Eventually, it was found that were more energy to be put into these magic lights, they were a major source of heat, and so the magic lights started to be used to heat their food, light blasting powder, and in combat. Female Hajiri mages, from which the Matriarchs are pulled, are also expert healers, while Male Hajiri mages are experts in combat, and will also use magic to increase their balance and stamina, and combine regular weapons with Hajiri light magic.

Despite the Hajiri being the source of most Midbari economic power, and protecting the region's borders from hostile neighbors, there is massive discrimination against the Hajiri in all other parts of the region, to a point where the only area where humans and Hajiri both cohabitate are along the Hajiri-Emirate border. Hajiri are perceived as repulsive and primitive by human standards, though the Emirate and and Daggers cooperate with the Hajiri militarily, while the Kingdom doesn't care for them at all.





The Kingdom's capital of Aihtifakhur is the located in the center of the river island of Aizdira. At around 400,000 people, Aihtifakhur is the largest city in the region.

To northeast of Aihtifakhur, at the tip of Aizdira, is Jamina, the largest port in the Midbari Desert and the third largest city at 50,000 people.

In the center of the desert lies the Emirate's capital of Dawakah, based around an oasis and the second largest city at around 150,000.

The Hajiri capital of Itzk'ehk isn't a city, but rather the center of a large and extensive system of tunnels. While the Emirate is largely defined by desert, there are also a number of semi-forested mountain ranges all around the area.


Majority Race: Humans at 73% are the ruling race of the Daggers, the Kingdom, and the Emirate. They also largely economically control the Hajiri lands. Midbari humans have dark, tan skin, darkened by the desert sun, and curly dark hair.
Minority Races: The Hajiri are the second largest racial group in the region, at 17%. They rule over the Western Hajiri Lands, and are an arthropodic, ant-like people. They burrow in tunnels underground, and are largely resistant to the desert heat. Despite their difference from the average being, Hajiri are as emotionally and intellectually advanced as humans, though are rarely treated as such.

After the Hajiri are the Ibexi at 7% of the population, and maintain complete control over the Ibexi lands throughout the region. Ibexi populations also exist in the Emirate and Kingdom, where they serve as warriors and guards. Cynics and isolationists, Ibexi are far, far stronger than humans, standing on average of 10 feet for a male and 8 feet for a female, and live longer, but use no magic.

The smallest race percentage wise in the Midbari Desert are the Condors; giant, sentient vultures with magical affinity who are also completely carnivorous. Usually migratory, Condors also are used as aerial cavalry, messengers, and lookouts, and make up 3% of the population.



State Religion: Yuwanism, syncretic with the worship of Rey'alam. Ibexi solely worship the dead god Midbar.
Patron Deity: Yuwan and Rey'alam
Religious Demographics: 25% worship solely Yuwan, but still respect the power and authority of Rey'alam. This population is concentrated almost entirely in the Kingdom. 40% worship Yuwan and Rey'alam equally. This is spread around the entire region, though this religious faction makes up the majority up the Hajiri, and the entirety of the Condors. 28% worship Rey'alam primarily, though with the understanding that she is less powerful than Yuwan. These are the majority of the Emirate and the entirety of the Daggers. The remaining 7% are the Ibexi, who worship Midbar solely and without exception. A number of bandits also worship the Turquoise Lord, though their numbers aren't significant, and they don't do so zealously.
Artifacts and Relics: The most famous Masterless Artifact in the Midbari Desert is the Mace of Midbar, the weapon of the now dead god Midbar. This weapon is now used as the weapon of the Emissary, and is the main source of the Emissary's magic. It imbues them with incredible strength and speed, and thick, armored skin. It also can be thrown and returned by its user, and is designed to be handled by an Ibexi.

The Dagger of Rey'alam is a bound artefact, originally the weapon used by Rey'alam as a mortal. Typically carried by the Dagger Mentor, the Dagger, aside from being a powerful weapon in melee, gives the user great magical strength, and allows them to create powerful sandstorms and illusions.

The final bound artefact of the region is the Kaqani Staff. The Kaqani tree was a large tree that had miraculously grown in the middle of the desert, and was believed to be the remnants of the forests that made up the region before the arrival of Midbar. The tree was sacred to the Condors, who saw it as the remnants of their past, and soon became a favorite pilgrimage stop among all races in the region. When the Justinians took over, they had the tree destroyed, with only one large chunk of wood being salvaged from it. When Rey'alam ascended, she fashioned it into a staff, imbuing it with great power, said to mirror the spirit of the Kaqani tree; it will always oppose the nature of whatever it's being used against. For example, if being cast at the desert itself, the staff would create a storm. If being cast at a wall, it would create an explosion. Rey'alam didn't realize how much magical energy existed in the tree, and couldn't predict the outcome of any spell. Because of this, she had the staff locked away in al-Yidam, only to be used in case of emergency. The Hajiri claim that they should be able to use it, their mages being masters with staffs, and believing the Kaqani staff would help them greatly in defending the borders. The Condors also wish to use it, or at least be able to keep it, the staff being the last remnants of their homeland, and Condors being the most able magic users in the region.

Holy Site: Ayuuf is a village located in the heart of what is now the Emirate. Right next to it was the location of the Battle of Ayuuf, where Rey'alam and a small force of Daggers destroyed a massive Midbari Justinian army, who had been on its way to fight the Yuwanists in the East. This battle was a major turning point in the future alignment of the Midbari Desert, and, by some perspectives, in the Justinian-Yuwan war as a whole, since it allowed Yuwanist forces to enter the region. It was after this defeat that the al-Jadim family, who had led the Justinian forces, departed for Archonnen, and became known as Amantus.


Notable Magic Institutions: The Daggers themselves are a magical institution, with all its members being at least somewhat proficient in Sand Magic. The Dagger Temples also are home to a much more peaceful variety of Sand Magic. These temples, in cities and towns all around the Yuwanist world, preach the tranquil side of Dagger philosophy, and offer courses in meditation and various aerobic exercises.

The Kingdom is also home to the Dahir Alchemical Academy. This prestigious alchemical school was founded fairly recently, owned and founded by the Dahir family, offering scholarships to bright young human students all over the region. Though some see this as altruism, it's more so the Dahir family's investments are always at the cutting edge of technology. It is currently headed by Musbara al-Dahir, Jamal al-Dahir's brother who abdicated his right to head the family so that he could focus on science and the arts.

The Condors, though without and official magical institute, also are constantly studying magic and various ways it could be manipulated. The Hajiri do the same with light magic.

Religious Interpretations/Culture: With Rey'alam being far more admired and worshipped than most Yuwanist Celestial Servants, Midbari religious culture is very unique. There are some, especially among the Daggers, who view Rey'alam as greater than Yuwan, and should be an actual god. Others, though still believing that Yuwan is the rightful head of the Pantheon, still believe that Rey'alam should become a part of it, rather than remain a celestial servant. Many in the Kingdom, especially among the wealthy, believe that, while Rey'alam is respectable, is not someone who should be worshipped, and instead should simply remain a tool of Yuwan. Among the Condors, there exists some significant discontent with the state of existence in general, believing that the problems of the world, such as the destruction of the pre-Midbari forest, is primarily caused by the gods. Because of this, a much higher percentage of Condors are Misotheist than practically any other race, though they will still worship gods simply for the magic.

Hajiri tend to worship Yuwan and Rey'alam equally, though there are some who worship Rey'alam more. Because they were created by Rey'alam through sand, sculpting and glassmaking are considered religious pursuits by the Hajiri, and Hajiri glassware would be highly valuable if people weren't racist.

In the village of Ayuuf, the Battle Day festival is a major event that brings in thousands of pilgrims every year. Ritual bathing in the Ayuuf oasis and the sacrificing of various animals to Rey'alam define many of the festivities, as well as the usual music and dancing. Among the Condors, pilgrimages to the former site of the Kaqani tree still occur every year, with practically every condor making the pilgrimage at some point that year. They are meant to bring a twig or seed with them, hoping that the tree somehow finds a way to become whole again. The Ibexi worship of Midbar is incredibly complicated and intricate, the traditions of which have been passed down orally though the generations. A small, small number of Ibexi wish for their people to accept the new gods, but will hardly ever say anything, knowing they would face expulsion. Sacrifices to Rey'alam are done through slitting the sacrifice's throat and allowing the blood to seep into a sand altar.

Military Doctrine:
Hajiri
The Hajiri rely on stealth and hit and run tactics, as well as their knowledge of the desert, in battle, due to the lack of professionalism amongst Hajiri warriors. In combat, Hajiri rely on their speed and skill rather than strength, wearing hardly any armor, and being born with a natural exoskeleton. In combat, Hajiri warriors carry long, double sided spears and scythes, as well as clubs and knives, which they can carry simultaneously with the polearms due to an extra pair of limbs. Hajiri men participate in the army through a cyclical conscription, excepting the male Hajiri mages, who are the elite of the Hajiri army and fight full time.
Emirate
The Emirate's military is somewhat disorganized, but at the same time versatile. With the ability to fight in both pitch battle and guerrilla strikes, the Emirate army is composed of Archers, Cavalry, Infantry, and Mages, with a negligible amount of artillery. Like the Hajiri, the Emirate prefers maneuverability to heavy armor, though still gives its non exoskeleton-having human warriors light armor. While recruitment is largely the responsibility of the Sheiks, who are also military leaders, the Emir does maintain a personal standing army.
Kingdom
The only true professional military in the region, the Kingdom's army is largely defensive, with heavy plated infantry and cavalry. The Kingdom also uses bombards. The Kingdom and the Emirate are both renowned for their archers, with the Emirate using archers to pick off specific targets while the Kingdom prefers mass volleys. The Kingdom also makes use of hand cannons to an extent, though is not too overwhelmed by their performance. The Kingdom's navy, the only one in the Desert, while somewhat competent, is severely lacking, and could only be relied upon in taking the infrequent river pirates. The Malik maintains complete control over the Kingdom's military, and the generals he appoints are also given votes for the next king.
Daggers
The Daggers originated as an irregular force of guerrillas under Rey'alam, but have since transformed into an order of assassins. The true hand of Rey'alam, the Daggers try to prevent wars before they happen, starting covert operations all over hostile territory. That said, the Daggers will defend their bases when needed, and can and have performed as part of an actual army.
Condors
The Condors do not maintain an army of their own, instead joining the armies of the Emirate and Kingdom, where they perform as air cavalry and mages, and help the Daggers to defend their bases in exchange for roosting rights. In combat, Condors prefer not to fight in any sort of melee, instead making use of their magical ability.
Ibexi
Like the Condors, the Ibexi do not maintain their own army, and join the armies of the Emirate and Kingdom, where they are used for their size and strength. Ibexi traditionally fight with maces and shields, and in the Kingdom are used defensively, helping to strengthen their lines, while the Emirate allows their Ibexi warriors (which do not exist in nearly the same quantity) to maintain their preferred nudity, and are used to break enemy lines.

-Government Description: An Exaltarchy is a government which has been directly crafted by the Justinian themselves where one of the Apostles were elected its Exaltarch and instantly granted Divine Mandate. The nation is then inherited by the closest bloodline related hero or champion of the Justinian. Beyond the Exaltarch and their exalted family, the remainder of the nation is administered and operated through imperial bureacracy where various titles, such as that of the magnate and the archmagnate, are granted to deserving individuals. The roles of the magnate and the archmagnate are to administer some of the many noble holdings in the case of the magnate, or the administration of the various magnacies in the case of the archmagnate. All titles within the nation are effectively viceroyalties as such, allowing the Exaltarch the ability to remove any such titles from individuals, including noble roles, should the individual in question be unworthy of the title.

-Currency: The Exaltarchy employs Sacrosanctian currency, often referred to as "Sacros" by the common populace. It is referred to as Aemerine Coins by the educated, due to their relation to the ancient Megasovereignty of the Aemos Imperios, which is of big influence in core Justinian lands.

-Languages: Majority Aemerine speaking nation, with a tolerance for Sancthiyin Elvish within its elven majority communities. Due to the massive convergence of languages, the nation has decided to enforce the Aemerine language due to ease of communication.





Firstborn amongst the Justinian crusader states, founded personally by the Justinian and its apostles, the Exaltarchy of Archonnen serves a form of role within the Justinian society which could easily be explained as a direct extension of Sacrosanctia into the nations of mortals. A unified, loyal Justinian nation, the Exaltarchy appears indomitable, monolithic, however waits patiently for its time amidsts the spotlights of the new world’s wars. One could surmise that the nation is more akin to a sleeping giant, as opposed to an active crusader state, its support of other fellow Justinian nations is mostly kept to supplies and equipment, of which there are many of fine quality.

• The Superstate - Justinianism is highly utilitarian, but above all, it is authoritarian to no end. As such, the Exalted State of Archonnen, headed by the Glorious Exaltarch Armarossa the Splendid, has seemingly endless reach into the affairs of common individuals. The Exalted State, represented by the Solar Eye, is an incredibly vast bureacratic institution that reaches as far as local trade and construction, with seemingly no end to its reach within the Exaltarchy. It is a highly paranoid existence, keeping tight wraps on secrets and does not enjoy unexpected occurences.

• Catalyst of Mortal Gods - Armarossa the Splendid, Exaltarch of the mighty superstate of Archonnen, is a highly powerful lord whom walks the Materium. His administrative efforts, and his apparent exemplorary Justinian personality grants him great favour with the One True God, Justinian. In so becoming the avatar for the three greatest of Justinian's Aspects; Wolfraum Azvorn the Dragon Eater, Sovereign Ultimatum of the Aemos Imperios, Apexus the Transcendant, Mortal God amongst Man, and lastly, The First, Founder of the Justinian Ideal, and the Aspect of the Beginning.

• King of Kings - The Exaltarchy is home to a colossal amount of Justinian heroes and champions, and has a hold on immeasurable power. However, the nation itself is ruled by recognition and legend, but most importantly, Justinian virtues. The King of all Justinian Champions rules the Exaltarchy under Justinian’s direct influence, and is called the Exaltarch. The title of Exaltarch comes with many boons, such as that of Divine Mandate under Justinian, making his word and law, a direct extension of the Justinian. They also experience greater supernatural protection, beyond being simple heroes, the Exaltarch also has Divine Intervention, which allows Justinian to directly intervene in matters which involve the Exaltarch’s direct safety. The Exaltarchy is also a nation of countless heroic tales and stories, the Exaltarchy were the first to come into war during the initial Crusade of Justinian, and has since upheld the heroic lineage of their forefathers 300 years ago. The nation is ruled, therefore, by ancient heroic bloodlines, and seldom are there people of note whom do not bear the title of Champion of Justinian.

• The Justinian Giant - The Nation of Archonnen is objectively the largest nation in the Materium, and has the largest population in all the world. To accompany this, the nation itself is effectively centralized, with a highly capable industry, and its people are accepting of the Exalted State. The economy is thriving, and the nation has been in a golden age for 150 years. It is a very stable nation, a nation with complete faith in its Exaltarch.

• The Infinite Army - The Exaltarchy of Archonnen is an inexplicably vast nation, not only of size, but of population. Due to its economic and sociopolitical stability, the Exaltarch, the nation’s ruler, is able to summon forth a practically endless host of warriors. However, the Infinite Army is slow to mobilize, and requires immense preparation before the titan can lay waste to its enemies.

• You are my Fellow Man - Racism and cultural distance is naught in the nation of the Exaltarchy, for it is rich in understanding and benevolence. Instead, assimilation and understanding of other people under the Justinian banner is welcomed and their unique traits are highly desired. Ill thoughts are instead directed towards those whom do not share these traditional justinian ideals. It is also home to some of the most devout, traditionalist Justinians on the world-continent of the Materium, as such it is harsh to alien influence, but still follows the rules of justice and benevolence. Racism is a bygone topic amongst metropolitan Archonnen, instead harm comes to those whom lack the same religious beliefs as the majority.

• Epiphany of the Perfect World - Much like many other Justinian nations, the Exaltarchy of Archonnen wildly utilizes the practice of the Epiphany of the Perfect World to keep its subjects loyal, devout, and hopeful of a united, peaceful future where lands once divided are reunited, and the drums of war turn into the hymns of peace. Although the negative of this process leads to naturally occuring "Great People (super geniuses)" lacking the freedom to fully exercise the full potential of their abilities to acquire the best possible result. This means that most roles in the government, and the system in general, is filled by individuals who are largely limited in their freedom and movement. This means that instead of lateral thinking, reliability and loyalty is instead emphasized.

• World Cities - The nation of Archonnen is vast, but its population far more excessive. Its people are ambitious architects and constructors of marvels of which cannot be compared. It includes cities of which can be described as worlds in and of themselves.

• Armoury of the Gods - The capital city, Exalossa, is home to countless wonders worthy of world recognition, one of which is the Golden Armoury. The Golden Armoury consists of the collected wealth, legend, and recognition of endless heroes in the form of their armour, weapons, and trinkets. It is estimated that tens of thousands of legendary relics can be found within its walls, and some of the strongest weapons on the materium are kept within its inner sanctum, away from dangerous influences. The armoury’s contents are beyond invaluable.

• Proof of Loyalty - Due to the Exaltarchy's somewhat paranoid and control-freaky government, the inhabitants of Archonnen require proofs of citizenry. These proofs are not given handily to anyone, and can be removed at a moments notice by any state official. To gain a proof of citizenship, one must have resided within the Frontier-region of Pinnopol for an approximate 25 years, under strict surveilance. Once this has been completed, one may finally pass beyond the harbours of any city, or cross the menacing Millennium Walls that protect the Justinian Heartlands.

• Distant Allies - The Exaltarchy of Archonnen is a distant political entity to its Justinian allies, unwilling to send military aide in form of military personnel for undisclosed reasons. As such, it is a very enigmatic entity to other Justinian Sovereigns, gaining them great distaste from most Justinian Rulers. Although, in regards to Sacrosanctia, the Exaltarchy and the Theobureacracy of Sacrosanctia share great diplomatic relations, arguably the best in all of Justiniandom.

• Resolute Justinians - Traditionalist Justinians to the extreme, the Exaltarchy of Archonnen is highly unwilling to deal with foreign religions, and the followers that they enthrall. Whilst few exceptions have been made, the Exaltarchy works endlessly to instill disdain and intolerance of other religions, leading to even their Ambassadors to often adopt a "burn the alien" policy when dealing with other allied nations.

• Thrones of Gold - The Exaltarchy of Archonnen appears impossibly arrogant to its allies, often demanding much of them in return of very little. Whilst the Exaltarch's influence and directive is of undeniable religious importance, as he is effectively the Right Hand of the Justinian, he still seldom gives befitting boons in return of other Justinian nations' services. Therefore, dealing with Archonnen politically is a very arduous task indeed.

-Majority race: There is no direct majority, although humans number in a very sizable racial minority, coming in at a drastic 42% of the population. Humans often dominate the administrative sector, as well as the military, although Auxilliary units from other racial fields are utilized to great effect due to their special characteristics. Whilst they are indirectly forced into service, they are given great boons by the state upon their military resignation.

-Minority race(s): Archonnen is an almost incomprehensibly vast nation with a very sizable populace within its borders, as such almost all of the world's civilized species can be found within it in at least some form or other. A very important distinction to be made, however, is that whether they can be found within the Frontier-region of Pinnopol, or the Archonnen Heartlands are of different importance. Pinnopol serves as some sort of garbage dump for the nation's undesirables, although it does maintain a ready military presence with exemplary auxilliaries levied from these very undesirables.

-Race Description(s): Humans, elves, dwarves, kobolds, centaurs, giants, and so much more, all of it can be found within its expansive borders. If there's a civilized race in this story, chances are high it has found its way into Archonnen in one way or another.

-Religion Demographics: The Exaltarchy and Sacrosanctia collaborates on many-a religious operations, as such the demographics found within Archonnen are an overwhelming majority Justinians, with an unaccounted for, but incredibly small minority Red Pantheonists. These Red Pantheonists are actively genocided, and sacrificed for the greater purpose of the Recovergence of both the Materia and the Celestial Realm. Although, there're some extreme and less extreme cults and sects found within Archonnen, there is only one socially acceptable interpretation is that of the literal interpretation of what is written in the Canonica.

-Holy Relics in Possession: The lands of Archonnen are home to potentially the largest collection of Holy Relics in the world, almost all of which are collected within the Golden Armoury of Exalossa. Whilst entry into the Golden Armoury is almost completely restricted, only a select amount of individuals are granted passage from the Exaltarch himself into the massive vaults of the Golden Armoury, and even then there're some weapons and some areas of which are not granted passage to even the Exaltarch without the explicit say-so of the Justinian themselves.

-Religious Interpretations/Culture/Structure: Archonnen is home to too many cultures to name, and too many interpretations to even comprehend. Whilst all things are maintained and cooperative by designs established early on in Archonnens infancy, Archonnen has learned to develope a culture surrounded on lack of any definitive, particular culture. City-life in Archonnen is filled with all kinds of oddities, and exotic dishes, where as instead the farmlands develope isolated cultures with their own practice and festivals.

More often than not, however, life in Archonnen centers around the vast cities, with gigantic markets and massive forums for people to spend their times outside as opposed to nothing. Although Archonnen society is a highly hierachical one, with each individual defined by their particular duty, and their purpose, and their work. Everyone is given a purpose, everyone is given a job, and they are supposed to finish said task before their life expires. It is the necessity of Justinian success, and it is the Archonite Dream to work or take part in something that will later become groundbreaking or revolutionary.

This sense of "Worker's Duty" is further emphasized with massive, and numerous monuments that glorify duty and sacrifice for the sake of accomplishment and success. The Grand Capitolopolis of Exalossa is surrounded by one such gigantic monument; a monument consisting of hundreds of thousands of marble statues in the shape of nameless soldiers, all of which gave their lives for the sake of Justinian success. Be it the ones that fell during the Initial Crusade, or the ones whom fell during the Devastation, they are all immortalize here, so that they can stand guard whilst the next generation brings success.

As aforementioned, Archonite society is highly hierarchical, and by extension orderly. The regimes of each individual is strictly controlled and enforced, but made in such a way as to imply a fake sense of control. This is to keep the citizens happy, but also to ensure continued efficiency in the Archonite Industrial, Administrative, Military, and Commercial machine. The State as such has massive insight into the lives of each individual, and monitors them closely to ensure no criminal activity is undertaken.

As such, crime in Archonnen is surprisingly rare, and executions, otherwise called as "Judgements" are massive occations of enjoyment for the common folk, amassing around the Empyrean Spire's Obsidian Obelisk (where criminals are crucified and made to atone for their crimes).

The people of Archonnen, in its sprawling cities, are as such massively controlled, mind controlled even, and the farmers and village-livers are simply too ignorant to know what the Exalted State is doing. As such, the people of Archonnen honour fallen heroes, and pride themsleves in their government. They are incredibly loyal to the state, but also to Justinianism itself, due to Sacrosanctian administrative and theocratic influence.

Archonnen and the Theobureacracy of Sacrosanctia are gigantic allies, and cooperate in almost every sphere of administration, education, and commerce. Miltiary being the only thing that Archonnen itself exclusively operates, since it acts as the effective army of Sacrosanctia, with the Exaltarch being the Supreme Commander of the Mortal-led Justinian Coalition forces.

As Archonnen is a powerful Justinian nation, in close proximity with Sacrosanctia, and with great cooperation with the fatherland of Justiniandom, it is a predominantly Canonical Justinian society. As canonicals, it follows these tenants:

1: Must acknowledge Justinian as the true and only god of the universe besides the deceased Demiurge, the evil creator god of the primordial era - the great antithesis and root of all evil.
2: Must acknowledge and accept the Great Reconvergence as desirable, necessary and inevitable.
3: All celestial entities that are not Justinian (demiurgic entities) must be destroyed, following them is treason.
4: The Justinians word and mandate is absolute.
5: Accepts and takes part in self-sacrifice and the consensual curse
6: Acknowledges and accepts the existence and role of the Oratorium, allowing them the right to carry out their duties and operate within your borders.
7: Accepts and takes part in the Epiphany of the Perfect World.
8: Acknowledges and takes part in fighting in the Sacrilege War. There can be no peace until the Great Reconvergence is completed, as such this will be our final war.
9: Acknowledges Justinians divine intervention and miracles, as well as the magic delegated to the mortals.
10: Acknowledges Asceticism and the inherent impurity of the physical world and as such officially rejects materialism.






Total Military Size: Circa 1,000,000 (give or take a couple thousand) active soldiers are maintained and supplied by the Exaltarchy of Archonnen during this state of peace.

Listed Heroes: Archonnen is a nation whose power and authority stems from its leadership; an upper-echelon of Champions whose heraldry stems all the way back to the age of the Apostles, and in the case of the Great Houses, have direct connection with the Apostles of Justinian that marched forth from Sacrosanctium 300 years ago. The Great Houses are the following; Gloria, Orass, Immortis, Sepolon, Pax, Arboria, Apollis, Eternus, and Immortasus. There are numerous other dominating bloodlines within the Bureacracy of Archonnen, but there're also skillful "unaffiliated" administrators. What is to be most commonly known, however, is that the Champions of Archonnen are LEADERS as opposed to WARRIORS. This leads to most of their time being spent administrating the gigantic realms of Archonnen, although their skills on the battlefield are expected to remain capable, they're mostly employed by the Exaltarch and Justinian as superb military commanders.

Military Doctrine:

Military Units: The Archonite Warmachine is one which baffles the world throughout all of Materia; no nation across the lands does not know of the Exaltarchy, but even less, of the Infinite Army. Originally created by the remnants of the aftermath of the Great Battle of Tramontan, Empyraeos gathered the shattered Justinian Forces and brought them back to the Temporary Region of Archonnen which would later come to be known as the Exaltarchy of Archonnen.

He, with the aide of his fellow Apostles, attempted their utmost to place the first stones for the foundations of the Exaltarchy. One such stone, one such stepping stone, would come to be known as the Infinite Army. Initially a highly modest, but quite numerous collective of anything from woman, man, and beast, it quickly expanded and became the dominating peacekeeping force in the vast land.

Whilst its initial purpose was of pacification, it quickly became known for its prowess in the fields of battle, as it fought against resisting Red Pantheonist enclaves which, by this point, were not as weak as they are in the modern day. They maintained the law, and secured the land, so that the industry, infrastructure, and urbanization of Archonnen could take shape. It would take many decades before the powers of Archonnen became apparent to anyone, but the embers first laid forth by Empyraeos would quickly burst into flame during the Great Birth, 139AWH. The Great Birth was not only the moment that the Birth of the Exaltarchy as a superpower first became a reality, but it was also the moment where the industry, infrastructure, urbanization, and modernization was completed.

But most importantly, it was also the moment of the first renovation of the Infinite Army. It took a decade for the completion of the first renovation, and it would come to be battle tested shortly after in Tramontan, as would only be fitting. The warriors of Archonnen proved powerful and capable, but ultimately only ash made its way home from the battlefield; the devastation instead burning itself into the minds of any Archonite.

Now in the modern day, after the completion of numerous other renovations, the power of Archonnen's Infinite Army is stronger than ever before. And now more than ever, it is ever more apparent.

The Council of 13: This consists of the 12 most influential members of the many disparate groups that now occupy the nation and a head priest sent from the west as a deliberation and instrument of Justinian’s will. The council members are often not actually present however, generally busying themselves with whatever sub group they represent, be they city, species or organisation. As a result, other than the head of the Oratorium and Ruler of the capitol, most members are represented by envoys or messages, be they mundane or magic. Generally only in times of war will the council convene in person.

How members are chosen varies from seat to seat, some done democratically, some by blood relation to a founding clan and some by seniority in an organisation. Which organisations are represented has fluctuated and as the titles are linked with the sitter and not with the seat they hold.

Gold: The union is still working on making an official currency, so most trade is done via how much gold is in whatever coins have ended up in the Union. Via trade and migration.

-History:
The land that the union now controls was up until about 170 AWH an Elven Yuwan nation near the center of the world. It was for a long time one of the bulwarks against the advancing Justinian forces. It’s powerful navy was the bane of the northern Justinian coastal cities and its land forces expelled attempts to surround the Turquoise domain.

That same navy made attacking the nation by sea next to impossible and the the marshy and densely wooded borders allowed the native elves to cripple any invading ground force before they reached secluded forest temple cities. Most of the land not directly controlled by the Elves was infested by various vermin races that they hunted for sport and used as sacrifice fodder, these raced did not take kindly to outsiders marching through their lands and would often raid supply convoys or kill scouting parties.

After many years of failed attempts to take the nation some of the Justinian priests made an attempt to deal with one of the problems they were facing, namely the unaligned goblins, Kobolds and other pest races that resided in the jungles, plains and forests. A blight to invading forces despite their distaste for their Elven overlords, the missionaries sought to turn them away from their red gods and to the Justinian cause to direct this nuisance towards their foes.

These attempts where, after a few false starts, incredibly successful. The possibility of being set free from their short and brutal lives resonated highly with the “lesser” races, who had for most of creation been the bottom of the species totem pole. Satisfied that they had solved at least one problem the vermin were left mainly to their own devices once more after a few were given the necessary training to give tribute to Justinian in return for power and instructions to begin working against the elven nation. Nobody actually wanted to associate with the runty savages, they were happy to just be left alone by them.

Unbeknownst to the Justinians, those first converted tribes began to spread the message of Justinian to their kin, far and wide. Their message was a somewhat altered from the original, having interpreted the missionaries instructions to overthrow the Elves as the entirety of the necessary steps to achieve utopia. While this was eventually rectified it initially drew masses of the downtrodden races of the world to those fist tribes banners. From forest dwelling goblins, to former Kobold slaves, to the Skaven that infested the sewers of many cities, to the Kenku thieves guilds, to the ocean dwelling Kuo-toa and many others, they all flocked to the small nation. Once the influx began to outweigh their native host's ability to sustain them they turned on mass against the elven cities. Almost overnight almost every city in the nation was overrun, as spider riding goblins and Kenku burglars climbed their walls, secret entrances were opened by slaves or the cites ever present Skaven, temples and focuses of magical power were swallowed up by the earth as their foundations were sabotaged, their northern coastal cities where swarmed by amphibious horrors and chaotic magic powered by the sheer number of casualties who were under the sacred Vow managed to overwhelm the mages who managed to rally to defend their cities.

After a few weeks of shock the Justinian powers came to terms with the existence new Justinian nation of chaotic minorities and sent back the original missionaries to try and organise the masses into something that looked vaguely like a nation to prepare for the continued assault further eastward. In this manner was formed the council of 13 and the migrated populace were directed to rebuild and inhabit the fortifications they had taken.

In the 130 years since the Union has changed from an unorganized occupying horde to a heavily entrenched but only slightly more organised horde.

UNIQUE ATTRIBUTE INFORMATION:
Positive:
Nation of the downtrodden: They effectively stand as one of the few powers that specifically care about those races and people who have been given the short end of the stick. As a result they draw in a lot of those people from across the known world and have an affinity to those of their kind who have not yet come to them. Many nations across the world have Skaven below their cities, goblins in their countrysides and kobolds in their mountains, these communities are often susceptible to the union's brand of Justinianism and can often be convinced to migrate or act as informants, saboteurs etc.

Rapid breeders: most of the races making up the nation already had pretty short life spans and had a rapid birth and development rate to compensate. They are capable of replacing and sustaining much larger populations due to this. This also makes them rather reckless in war and in their experimentation.

Magic Machines: wizards take a long time to train and the nature of most of the races lack of survival instincts means that casters often get themselves killed during training. While there are plenty of replacement initiates this makes the casters that can do the biggest magics rather uncommon and valuable. To solve the issue of potentially losing them in the the chaos of battle the Union has made extensive work of Artifact creation. Things like lightning cannons, transmuted magical war beasts, buff delivering bells and other creations are a mainstay of their armies. These creations are, while powerful, a carefully controlled chaos that can easily run wild if damaged or misused. Common artifacts have a tendency to miss fire or explode violently without warning.

Many magical traditions: drawing from their diverse populace, the Union has access to many different forms of magic. Unfortunately the lack of unified training leaves the nature of their magical support rather unpredictable for the Union's leadership. A general who requests magical support basically has no idea if he is getting, it could be fireballs chucking Kobolds, Goblin healers, water manipulating Kuo-toa, plague spreading Skaven or any number of things. Now that the magical communities are intermingling, species and faction are getting to be even less of an indicator as to a mage's capabilities.

Negative:
Vermin: Externally, the union is seen unfavorably by many races, their habits disgusting, their appearances ugly. Diplomatic relations with fairer folk are generally poor and often conducted by human missionaries instead of the actual populace.

Disorganized: being a nation of many disparate groups whose ancestors lived mainly in small groups they have not taken to bureaucracy or national governments well. The council of 13 is technically in charge of the nation, but really they rely on their individual members relations to various sub groups to get anything done. Agriculture, tax collection, infrastructure and other necessities are handled poorly. They are trying, but there is a lot of waste and untapped potential resources that could be achieved with reforms and national censuses, things that are difficult to do while you are at war. The only thing that thing that can be relied upon is the massing of militias to see off invasions or attack enemies.

Poor craftsmanship: the majority of their equipment and construction efforts are crude and prone to failure as a result of their rush to secure their new nation against counter attacks.

Cultural friction: the various species and factions are still getting used to living with one another, there is a lot of tension and many complications caused by lack of cultural unity.

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION:

Zatherop City: Capital
Enrilth Fortress: large fortress built in the north to defend from and launch attacks into Evernyx. The bones of a dragon who used to live in the nearby mountains adorn this fort.
Shelraht: City of Its swamps that are host to most of the nation’s BullyWugs. It was once a vital defensive point of the elven nation but is now a trading hub between the north and south.
Orthenhim: Orthenhim is home to much of the Kobold population due to it’s closeness to Mt Sunscraper, it is the primary entrance point for western troops to the territory.
Sunscraper: tallest mountain and site of the Kobold leadership race.
Fort line: A line of forts built across the border to the Turquoise domain. Hosts Sacrosanctian mages who have waged a war of attrition against the domain since the Union’s inception. Mixed Sacrosanctian and Union construction.
Stage: A massive temple fortress that hosts the Sacrosanctian’s largest rituals and foreign soldiers who are there to fighting against the Turquoise domain. Command and control point for the fort blockade. Built in part by the Sacrosanctians and home to many Union species.
Barby: Site of weapons testing and home of the alchemist's guild. Largest of the line forts and the only one not hosting the Sacrosanctian military. Built by the Union to defend from the beasts emerging from the CHASM OF INEFFABLE ODDS. Features an extensive underground defense network in addition to its above ground fortifications.
Insmaw and Roc Port: coastal cities that host the Union’s navy. Roc Port is the more traditional navy. Insmaw is the focal point of coordination efforts with the city of R’lyeh’s aquatic forces, it is also rather constantinople in its defences, the peninsula it is built on is walled off from the mainland in and its ample oceanic supply sources make it difficult place to take.
Norsal: a relatively small fortress that contains tunnels leading down to a vast underground cavern and ancient Dwarven hold that is now home to scaven and Bainligor. Recently has gained a population of Kuo-toa as a result of the Union’s operations to attempt to take the nearby river source to get access to the ocean on the other side of the land mass.

RACIAL(species) INFORMATION:
-Races:
Goblins 25%, (1 M, 25Y) made as antagonists by a long dead god to challenge his people, goblins are short, ugly, vicious and can survive basically everywhere. After the inevitable death of their creator they have spread like the plague across the world and can found in may out of the way forests and marshes.
Skaven 15%,(1.2M 35 Y) initially made as literal lab rats by a powerful mage, the Skaven where tormented for decades before they killed their creator through trickery. They attempted to take his power for themselves but accidentally destroyed his wizard spire in their own experiments. They were then scattered to the winds and can now be found scrounging beneath places of power, still hungry for knowledge and power.
Kuo-toa (1.1M 30Y) 15% Believe they are the Children of a sleeping horror who has put itself in stasis to await the world destruction. They are very happy with all this world ending help they are getting. Noramly ocean dwelling, some have migrated inland.
Kobolds 10%,(0.8 M 20Y) see lore for history. The union is a place for those Kobolds who wish to end their kinds curse through Justinian's un-making of the world.
Kenku (1.3M 40 Y) 10% Believe they were once the angels of a now dead god, they where striped of their flight and position when they gave in to the sin of greed.
BullyWugs (0.9M 20 Y): 5% an Inland dwelling cousin of the Kuo-toa
Bainligor (1.2M 40Y) 5% Deep cave dwellers who have been mostly culturally assimilated by the Kenku due to the similarity of their flightless state. Often act as envoys between under and overground communities.
Gnoll (1.6M 40Y) 5% Native denizens of the savannas of the world and seem to have been so since time began. Notably adverse to the recording history of any kind, it makes them a nightmare for the union's fledgling bureaucracy.
Elf (former dominant race) 5% see lore for history. now either in clustered in holdouts or are citizens of the Union who were former member of secret Justinian cults that are now free to have their beliefs in the open. There are also some who converted to save their own skin.

Screaming Bell: a massive bell mounted at the very top of Enrilth. Its main purpose is to rouse the populace of the city and the savannas beyond it to defend the eastern border of the Union, it’s recently added magical purpose is a curse applied to all those bound by the consensual curse. It numbs pain and fear in the Justinian warriors, making them able to keep on fighting even after they normally would have succumbed to the pain of their injuries.

Alchemist's guild: The only organised magical training institute is one made primarily to find ways to merge magic and machinery to mass produce minor Relics. They have a particular interest in gunpowder, artillery and transmutation.
The Mage's Association: a loose coalition of the various magic wielders from the various Union member's former societies. Most mages stick to their own groups apart from a few times a year where cites host conventions where mages from across the new nation get together and share knowledge and elect a representative.

There are a lot of minor deviations and cultural baggage that has been brought by the Unions many species. Every clan and minor faction has their own traditions that have been interwoven into their worship. The nation is trending towards Orthodox at a slow rate as corrections are made. Notable widespread deviations are shown below:

The Kenku still enact material sacrifice to atone for the sins that they believe lost them their wings, symbols of wealth and greed are ritually sacrificed like souls would be and then given to the poor. The problem is that they have to amass every year to perform these rites, something that gets in the way of the Justinian anti materialism standpoint. Some Bainligor have taken up this ritual due to their similarly flightless nature.

While the Kuo-toa do not worship their sleeping progenitor like a red god, as the Kuo-toa history specifies it is not a Celestial, There is some debate over the fact that the being is never explicitly specified to be mortal either. Seeing as nobody but the Kuo-toa can go check what lays in their deep sea city this is let slide by the local church. The Kuo-toa who undergo the epiphany don’t appear to have spread much additional light on the issue and so there is friction between the Kuo-toa and the hard line Justinians on the issue.

The Epiphany of the Perfect World experience is not as widespread as it is in other Justinian nations due to a lack of temples and priests capable of performing it. Most in the major cities have partaken in it but the tribes who live in the surrounding lands are less likely to have done so. It is also quite possible to simply avoid doing it if someone desires too due to the chaotic mess taht are Union cities.

Implementation of the Oratorium is slow due to the young nature of the centralized ruler-ship. The institution exists but does not have the absolute authority that it would in other nations, Inquisitors from the capital often end up arguing with the local priesthood and often end up on trial if they act without the local authority's permission. Disparate groups often have their own version of the Oratorium who come into conflict when their jurisdictions overlap with the Capital’s efforts.

Militia horde: the vast bulk of the union's forces are the self equipped and trained masses, wielding anything they can get their hands on, be it stolen swords, tribal weapons or farming equipment and clad in mail, leather or rags, these fanatical swarms take down opposing forces by sheer weight of numbers. Due to the Consensual Curse, these hordes are a massive source of sacrifice for the Union’s mages.

Matchlock gunners: Gangs wielding poorly made firearms make up the bulk of the nation's non magical ranged firepower, primarily because it is a lot easier to train someone to fire a gun than it its to get them to shoot arrows. Produced on a relatively large scale for the period, these guns are as a result rather crap and are often used purely as spears with their bayonets after they inevitably break.

Beast Rider Pack: for most of the races of the Union, the humble horse is much too large to ride as a one person mount and as a result they often use various other domesticated beasts for cavalry. Wolves, huskies, hyenas and other canines are common mounts, rarer are giant spiders, crustaceans, ants and scorpions. Generally used to flank foot and archer regiments rather than fight enemy cavalry toe to toe, though they often carry Matchlock handguns in large numbers to harass such larger targets. Do very well in rough terrain where agility is key, less so on open ground where they get outrun by horses.

Bug Rider swarm: riding large insects, these aerial cavalry are perhaps the least majestic unit to ever grace the skies of the Sacrilege war. Less royal formation and more unruly swarm, the most common tactic of these warriors is to dropping vials of Greek fire on enemy ground force or attempting to use grappling hooks to board other filer’s mounts.

Guards: much less common are the fully armed, armored and trained groups of warriors, who most of the time act as the escorts for important people or equipment.

Rouges: armed with knives, crossbows, explosives and sneakiness, these are the nations infiltration, assassination and sabotage experts.

Magical Monster riders: these are small specialist forces who make use of the many magical beasts of the world as mounts. From stealthy displacer beasts to armor corroding rust monsters, these specialists have often been magically altered themselves to allow better functionality with their mounts.

Monsters: From the terrifying titan spider and the Kraken to the more mundane creatures like elephants and whales, these highly coveted war beasts are a Union’s general's pride and joy. Armored and crewed by many soldiers armed with spears and matchlock guns or sometimes artillery.

Mages: as diverse in talent as the nation they come from, these shamans, priests, warlocks and druids accompany armies too keep them safe from any magic and to bombard them with spells of their own. Or conjure swarms of rats. Or reshape the terrain. Or sometimes just explode.

Magical Machines: made by the alchemists guild, these range from enchanted cannons to spell slinging artifacts. Lighting cannons, poison gas mortars, self reloading Ribauldequins and tree makers are all things that have rolled out of the alchemists’ labs.

Mundane artillery: cannons, ballistas, mortars and trebuchets are often brought to battle as a more reliable form of heavy hitting ranged support.

Marines: these Aquatic forces are used to fight around rivers and lakes, letting the Union strike form unsuspecting angles. Armed with non metallic light weapons and armor. Also work in the ocean as boarding troops. Lack ranged firepower apart from mages.

Ships: galleons either bristling with as many artillery pieces as can be fit or dedicated boarding craft. The use of Kuo-toa ocean magic makes these poorly made ships a force to be reckoned with on the waves.

Nautical cavalry: Kuo-toa riding sharks, eels, orcas, sea lions and other such sea creatures. Generally used to get to craft quicker for boarding but can be devastating against other aquatic races.
