Margrail Duel School

Welcome to the Margrail Duel School, a school for dueling situated in the modern Margrail city situated in the country of Japan (the city hasn't existed for that long and the name refers to the founder). It has many facility for your dueling needs such as a large indoor arena, equipped for both action and regular duels alike and while the rather moderately sized school is not equipped to handle action duels, there is a special course third year students can take as they are likely of legal age, that allows them to ride the real thing in the stadium through school sponsoring in order to raise the next generation of turbo duelists.

For this roleplay, we will be playing first years. The inexperienced bunch in this school.

How cards will be dealt
In the event you need cards to be added to your deck they will be received through events and the like. Maybe one day when your opening a booster you stumble across the exact card you needed. Or maybe you received it from defeating a powerful foe. These way power progression is controllable and creates some balance among players.

Custom Cards
Custom cards will be allowed for this role play, however customs will be thoroughly moderated in order to maintain a fair playing field. Do not take this as a means to overflow it with customs. Secondly creating cards that are direct improvements over existing cards in the same archetype are simply going to be denied unless good reasoning is applied to why it would need to exist.

Any specific rules on deck-building besides the ban list? I was thinking of making a Mokey Mokey deck that I used to use a couple years ago, but I'm not sure if that would be too silly.

I believe the main restriction on deck building is don't build a end game deck, leave room for improvements. Run a few cards that simply have better varients of them. Try to minimise three ofs as much as you can, the less duplicates the better in this case for early one anyway. Other then that, Not really. As long as you leave gaps for improvement in order for the deck to slowly improve as you rp, then any deck produced is fine.

No deck can be seen as too silly.

Hmm, so I should make a bunch of "shitty" cards first that can be switched with better ones later.

I'm really sorry, but it looks like I'm not going to have time for this RP after all. @_@ In the next couple of weeks, my shifts are going to be getting longer at work, and I also need to prepare for moving back to college in a little under a month. That much aside, two other RPs I already signed up for have finally started, so I just really don't have much time to write aside from that.

I hope I'll get the chance to RP with you later. ^^;

I remember having a template for cards and literally no one followed it. ;_;

Name: Emily M. Thunderchild
Age: 16 (Presumeably)

Personality: Though she had not seen civilization for years, Emily still acts somewhat posh. She is capable of delaying gratification and shrugging off certain inconveniences, especially since school life was a great improvement, however still prefers things be as comfortable as they can be. Having eaten nothing but seafood for years, Emily greatly appreciates a good steak, chicken, or even some salad. Emily has a very distinct accent.

Due to feelings of separation from her father, Emily seems much more trusting of women. She is indifferent on men her own age or younger and somewhat wary of men who are older except teachers who she often seems to seek guidance from for not really having a father figure.

From her mentorship, Emily's style is very go-with-the-flow. She will take what her deck gives her in her opening hand, attempting to make it work, regardless of her opponent's open. Her mentor might use the phrase "be water", though Emily does not particularly think this way, carrying strong monsters in both her main deck and extra deck with powerful effects that shift the game in her favor. Emily likes to be flexible, and in addition, likes to know what her opponent is doing. Because of this, she has ambitions of learning all different summoning methods.

Bio: Emily is an only child to a Commodore of the British Royal Navy and descends from a long line of British Royal Navy officers. Consequently, she had descended from a long line of master duelists on both sides of her family. When she was younger, Emily trained with her father on the ship he commanded, practicing both balance and ritual summoning using her father's ace monster: Fortress Whale. Though he wished for his daughter to live happily, he often left her alone with her mother, especially when he went off on deployments, which were months long that he would be away from home, preferring the excitement over his own home and family.

One day, the Commodore returned home to see that Emily had learned Synchro summoning from one of her teachers. Emily's father, being an avid Ritual Summoner despised Synchro Summoning, feeling them to be an inferior version of Ritual Monsters, limited in that they had to come out of the extra deck. There was a large dispute between the two, ending with Emily leaving home. Ironically, she left aboard a ship in which she had stowed away, until a storm had taken the ship, the vessel sinking, and Emily nearly dying, had she not been rescued by a certain man- a certain fisher man. He raised Emily for four years before reaching land, teaching her the ways of the ocean as well as other summoning methods. When they finally reached a shore, Emily was allowed to go, though thanked her savior.

Preferred Summoning Methods: Synchro

Optional courses: Extra Deck Methods, Pendulum Summoning, Link Summoning (if that can be a thing)

Well no. The deck doesn't have to be shitty persay. It just has to have room to be made better. Maybe its missing the final form of a boss monster etc etc.

Okay I like the character but I am afraid I am gonna have to tell you to change the deck up for two reasons.
Reason number 1: This is a pre link rp, I believe I did say at one point but I don't think you caught the notice, therefore any mention of links or link monsters is unfortunately going to have to be removed.

Reason number 2: Her deck appears to have alot of three ofs as well as a effectively equipped extra. The presence of the fusions and the xyz monsters can be seen as unnecessary in this regard as it is referred to nowhere, that she practices either. I'll allow you to keep one but not both. (though in both regards, Sea monster of thesues will likely have to be removed for now, but you can get him later)

To summarise this tone down your three-ofs to majority two ofs and only one to two 3 ofs and scale down the extra.

depends on full custom, because I doubt you'd need to at least in teh spell and trap department.

Otherwise yes. AS long as you don't incldue too many three of and restrain yourself from going too far off the deep end then you should be okay.

Don't mind this, just a place holder for the deck I'm going to do. Im going to fix it up to the CS standard, but that's the bare bones list.
